The first free update for Fishing Mega-Game is now live! It contains a number of QoL updates and some gameplay adjustments. Most of these changes are from player feedback via discord, steam discussion, and even e-mail. I take your feedback very seriously, so please feel free to share your thoughts!
Let's break down the update
Underwater UI
The catch meter has been replaced with the name of the fish you're catching. Also the current shine % is now displayed in the bottom right corner. This will be useful because now there is an opportunity to increase your shine % during a run.
Exhausting Level ups
A number of players have called out that when they exhaust all of the upgrades available, leveling up became tedious since it provided no benefit. From now on if you're at maximum capacity for upgrades, these three options will be available upon level up. Use these to farm, guarantee a shiny, or just keep yourself alive!
Underwater Checkmarks
At the left, right, and bottom edges you can see that there is now a green checkmark that displays on the silhouettes of fish you've already caught. This was highly requested since players would sometimes forget which fish they already had.
Steam Issues
A few players have had issues with their game connecting to Steam and popping achievements. I have made changes to the way that Fishing Mega-Game connects to Steam. In addition to this, I have added a function that will check for any missed achievements when you first boot into the game's overworld after launching the game. Please note that some challenge achievements are not checked this way.
I hope this addresses the Steam issue, but if you run into it PLEASE send an e-mail to [email protected]
Compatibility Mode
When launching Fishing Mega-Game on a Windows computer, you can now choose to launch it in "Compatibility Mode." This is mostly for those who can't launch it in it's default state.
Other Adjustments and Bug Fixes
Corrected an issue where two bosses could spawn at the same time.
Adjusted tutorial text.
Fixed a minor visual bug in the fish menu that would sometimes hide location.
The pause menu now brings your focus to the bottom option when pressing up (That one's for the min-maxers).
When using a controller or moving with keys, the cursor will now hide.
And finally, a new cursor has been added and it really fits the game. If you wanna see it, boot the game up!
Thanks for playing everyone, see you again soon for more updates!
