How SteamScope uses third-party game data, trademarks, and media under fair use and similar legal doctrines for informational purposes.
Last updated: July 28, 2026
SteamScope operates https://steamscope.net as an independent gaming intelligence and statistics platform. We aggregate, analyze, and present publicly available information about video games, including data from Steam and other third-party sources.
This Fair Use Disclaimer explains how we use third-party names, logos, images, descriptions, and statistics, and the legal principles that support that use. Nothing on this page grants you rights to use third-party intellectual property.
SteamScope does not support piracy. We do not host game downloads, distribute installers, sell Steam keys, or link to websites that engage in those activities.
Our embeddable game widgets and live badges display SteamScope statistics — such as player counts, prices, and review summaries — sourced from our database and public platform data. They are not official Steam store purchase widgets. Wherever practical, game pages on https://steamscope.net link to the official Steam store listing for that title.
Capsule images, header art, and other visual assets shown on the site are referenced from Valve's Steam content delivery network or similar official sources. We do not claim ownership of that artwork.
SteamScope presents information and statistics about Steam applications obtained through public Steam Web API endpoints, store metadata, and functionality comparable to what the Steam client exposes — then indexed, cached, and enriched on our own infrastructure.
Many developers and publishers find our platform useful for tracking concurrent players over time, monitoring price and review trends, comparing titles in their genre, and understanding long-term audience activity. We provide analytics and reference tools, not a marketplace or distribution channel.
SteamScope offers free SVG badges and HTML widgets that third parties may embed on websites, forums, wikis, and project documentation. These embeds republish cached statistics from our database for informational purposes.
When you embed our badges or widgets, you must keep visible attribution to SteamScope (including the steamscope.net branding on branded badge variants and the powered-by footer on widgets), preserve links back to the relevant SteamScope game page where provided, and not modify the embed code to remove or obscure that attribution.
Embeds are provided as-is. Statistics may lag live platform figures depending on our update schedule. We may apply rate limits or suspend abusive embed traffic that exceeds reasonable use.
SteamScope is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Valve Corporation, Steam, Twitch Interactive, Google LLC, YouTube, or any game developer, publisher, or platform operator whose content appears on this site.
References to third-party products, services, and brands are used solely to identify and describe the games and platforms we track. All trademarks, service marks, trade names, and logos remain the property of their respective owners.
We display third-party game data for informational, research, commentary, and reference purposes. Our service adds context through analytics, historical charts, trend scores, comparisons, and discovery tools that go beyond simply republishing source material.
Game titles, developer and publisher names, genre tags, player counts, price history, achievement statistics, and similar facts are presented to help users understand market activity and make informed decisions. We do not claim ownership of underlying game assets or platform data.
When you connect a Steam account, SteamScope processes your public library and profile statistics solely to provide personal dashboard features for your account. We do not republish connected-account library data as public site content unless you explicitly opt in to visibility features described in our Privacy Policy.
Where applicable, our use of copyrighted material may qualify as fair use under Section 107 of the U.S. Copyright Act. Fair use is determined case by case, but relevant factors often include:
Steam, the Steam logo, and other platform marks are trademarks of Valve Corporation. Game names, logos, artwork, and screenshots may be trademarks or copyrighted works of their respective developers and publishers.
We use these materials only to the extent necessary to identify games and platforms referenced on the site. No trademark license or partnership is implied.
Statistics, store metadata, images, and other content may originate from public APIs, store pages, or licensed feeds operated by third parties. We strive to present accurate information but do not guarantee completeness or timeliness.
If you are a rights holder and believe material on this site exceeds what is reasonably necessary for identification, commentary, or reference, please contact us using the information below.
