SteamScope ("we", "us", or "our") operates https://steamscope.net and provides gaming analytics, trend tracking, and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit or use our website and services.
By using our website, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
We may collect the following categories of information:
It is safe to sign in to SteamScope with Steam. We use Steam's official OpenID provider — the same authentication mechanism many Steam community sites use — to verify your Steam ID. We never receive your Steam username, password, email address, or any credentials that would let us access or control your Steam account.
When you sign in or connect Steam, OpenID gives us only your public Steam ID. If you choose to use dashboard features that sync your library, we request additional public profile information from the Steam Web API, but only where your Steam profile and game details are set to public or otherwise accessible to our API key.
We do not receive private Steam account information such as your password, purchase payment details, wallet balance, or non-public profile data.
If you sign in with Steam or link a Steam account, we may store and process the following categories of information:
You can view the data associated with your account on your SteamScope dashboard while signed in.
When you sign out, you may choose to delete all stored data about your account. This removes your SteamScope account record, linked Steam profile, synced library, achievements, favourites, watchlists, privacy settings, and analytics from our active database. This action cannot be undone.
Routine server logs and backup copies may retain limited technical records for a short period before automatic rollover or expiry. If you need help with a deletion request, contact us using the details below.
You may also request access, correction, or deletion by emailing [email protected].
We use collected information to:
Where applicable data protection laws require a legal basis, we process personal data based on: (a) performance of a contract when providing account services you request; (b) legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving our platform; (c) consent where required, such as for non-essential cookies; and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
We use trusted third-party providers to operate our services. These providers process data on our behalf and under appropriate safeguards.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for backup, audit, and legal compliance.
We may remove accounts that have not signed in for an extended period as part of routine database maintenance. If you sign out and choose to delete your stored data, we remove your account record and associated personal data from our active systems, subject to the log and backup retention notes above.
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers of personal data.
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or by email where appropriate.
