Hello Survivors, Update v0.8.0 is now available. This update adds Mutant Bosses, improves Mutant and Brute combat, and fixes several other known bugs while we prep for our End Game Cave update.
Mutant Bosses
Added Mutant Bosses.
Mutant Bosses will now spawn at Mutant Meat Piles.
Updated the loot dropped by Mutant Bosses.
Mutant Meat Piles are now more dangerous than ever, so make sure you are ready before getting too close or run for the hills if you're low on loot
Mutant Hearing and Player Footsteps
We fixed an issue that stopped (the original) Mutants from reacting to the player. Mutants are blind and depend on sound to find you. They will react when they hear your footsteps or when they are attacked. Sneaking makes your footsteps quieter and can help you move past them without being noticed.
Mutant Combat Changes
Increased Mutant attack animation speeds.
Widened the Mutant attack hit range.
Improved the consistency of Mutant attacks.
These changes should make Mutant attacks feel faster while also making their hits easier to understand.
Brute Combat Improvements
Adjusted the Brute Zombie’s attack range.
Added separate attack trace points for Mutants and Brutes.
Moved the Brute’s attack points to better match its size and large swing animations.
Improved the consistency of Brute attacks.
The Brute now has an attack range that better matches its large body and wide swings.
Brute Animation Fixes
Fixed the Brute Zombie animation blueprint- the correct animations should now be used by the Brute class.
Fixed a movement blend issue that caused the Brute’s feet to slide across the ground.
We didn't want you to see an ice-skating Brute.
Other Changes
Added more item optimizations.
Fixed several smaller bugs.
Cleaned up unused and outdated project files.
Continued preparing systems for future content.
What’s Next?
We are now preparing for the End Game Cave Update. This will be our next major update, and we will share more information as development continues. Thank you for playing ZSGO and supporting our small indie studio. Bug reports and player feedback continue to help us improve the game.
