Patch 1.0.11 is now available!

This update introduces a small quality-of-life feature that many players requested, along with a fix for an issue that could prevent progression.

New Feature

Puzzle Reset Button

A new Reset Puzzle button has been added to the Ending Puzzle levels.

You can now restart Ending Puzzles at any point without leaving the level. This also allows you to replay these puzzles whenever you'd like.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where Ending Puzzle completion progress could fail to save correctly in certain situations.

• This issue could prevent some players from progressing through the game. The save logic has been updated to resolve this problem.

One of my goals after the full release of Wound Man is to continue polishing the experience, and today's update is focused entirely on the game's presentation.

I've gone back and reworked the artwork for 11 of the game's 30 levels, improving the visuals while keeping the puzzles themselves unchanged.... except for level 29, which has also received an updated image and layout.

These updates are intended to better match the atmosphere and style of the later parts of the game, and they're just one step in my ongoing effort to refine the overall experience.

As always, thank you to everyone who has been playing, sharing feedback, posting screenshots, and helping spread the word about the game. Your support makes it possible for me to keep improving Wound Man long after its full release.

I hope you enjoy the updated look, and there is more polish, bug fixes and some new content in the works.

• Added quick access to Collections from the Main Menu, Level Select menu, and the Esc menu.

• Improved the flaying puzzle on Level 114 (Challenge) by making the parts easier to distinguish.

These changes should reduce frustration caused by overly precise piece placement requirements while preserving the intended challenge of the puzzles.

This update focuses on improving the Ending Puzzles, the Lacerated Legacy questline and addressing several progression issues.

Changes & Fixes

• Added an alternate method for unlocking the End puzzles without viewing the post-Level 30 cutscenes.

• Fixed the incessant messages from Wound Man that could occur after unlocking the Lacerated Legacy quest.

• Fixed an issue with combining pieces during the second stage of the Lacerated Legacy quest.

• Fixed a bug that could soft-lock the game when restarting the Lacerated Legacy quest after combining all items in the first stage.

• Added a skip button to reduce repetition when restarting the second stage of the Lacerated Legacy quest.

This update fixes bugs recently reported by the Wound Man community.

• Fixed a bug that soft-locked the game with black screen after completing level 30.

• Adjusted pieces for level 8 (casual), level 28 (special) and End level Puzzle (Challenge).

• Fixed a bug on level 11 (challenge) where the bookmark interfered with the secret.

After two years of development in Early Access, Wound Man is now fully released.

What began as a small project inspired by medieval medical illustrations and historical surgical texts has grown through dozens of updates, player feedback, bug reports, and community support. Today marks the end of that journey and the official release of Wound Man.

While many of the game's final additions and improvements were introduced through recent updates, this release represents an important milestone: Wound Man is now considered complete and fully playable from beginning to end.

I'd like to thank everyone who supported the game during Early Access. Whether you purchased the game, reported bugs, shared feedback, joined the Discord, or simply followed development, your support helped shape the final release.

One thing that has continually surprised and encouraged me throughout development is the reception from players. Wound Man currently holds a 100% positive review score on Steam, and I'm deeply grateful to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and experiences.

If you've enjoyed your time with Wound Man but haven't yet left a review, this is a wonderful time to do so. Reviews help small indie games reach new players and make a tremendous difference to solo developers.

Although Wound Man has now reached its planned destination, development isn't ending here. I'm currently working on a new content expansion and look forward to sharing more details in the future.

For now, I hope you'll continue exploring the strange and unsettling world of Wound Man.

Wound Man - Early Access Update 0.9.4

This update focuses on stability and overlapping pieces. .

Wound Man – Update 0.9.0 Now Live

This is a major step forward for Wound Man, focusing on polish, usability, and bringing key systems to completion.

While this update includes a small amount of new content, the main focus has been on quality-of-life improvements and a more refined player experience across the board.

Highlights:

Cabinet of Curiosities Complete

The reward system is now fully realized, featuring 164 unique critters to discover. Players who manage to find them all will unlock a special puzzle reward.

Achievements & Progress Tracking

• New achievement pop-ups

• A dedicated page to track achievements, collectibles, and overall progress

Improved Drag & Drop Feel

Interactions are now smoother and more intuitive. Dropped pieces will stay exactly where you place them—no more snapping back to their original position.

Update 0.8.0 – The Journey Nears Its End

Update 0.8.0 is now available.

This is the largest expansion to Wound Man to date — and it brings his story to its long-awaited conclusion!

8 New Major Levels

Eight brand-new, fully unique puzzle levels have been added.

These are not variants or remixes — each level introduces new artwork, new layouts, and new mechanics. The difficulty and complexity have been carefully crafted to reflect the gravity of where Wound Man’s journey now stands.

The Story Concludes

With this update, Wound Man’s narrative arc reaches its end.

New story content ties together the secrets, discoveries, and expansions that have unfolded throughout Early Access. The cutscenes and final puzzles now reveal the fate of Wound Man — and the consequences of your efforts to restore what was lost.

The journey that began with scattered fragments and forgotten manuscripts now has a definitive ending.

New Content

• 10 new cut scenes that flesh out Wound Man's story.

• 8 new end-game levels with unique new mechanics.

• 10 new achievements.

• New animated creatures for your Cabinet's of Curiosity.

• New unlockable artwork for your Title Screen.

How many of you recognize this image?

Well, in the next update, this image, the old temporary end screen, will be replaced with a huge chunk of new end-game content. All in all, I will be adding about 1 to 2 more hours of content. These additions include:

• 10 new cut scenes that flesh out Wound Man's story.

• 8 new end-game levels with unique new mechanics.

• New animated creatures for your Cabinet's of Curiosity.

• New artwork for your Title Screen.

• Ungraded menus and artwork.

• Branching dialogues with choices that matter.

• Multiple endings.

After this major update, I plan to issue a final update Early Access update (0.9) with new QOL (quality of life) features and finishing polish.  So, hopefully Wound Man will exit Early Access within the second quarter of 2026. 

Regarding the pricing of the game, I wanted to be transparent.  As stated on the Steam page for Wound Man, the price of the game will increase when released from Early Access (hopefully within the second quarter of 2026).  So, if you or someone you know is thinking about buying the game for the low Early Access price, now is the time.

This is a minor update that fixes a few bugs related to the secrets for Artifacts and Manuscripts.

All achievements should be achievable now.

This patch addressed the following:

• Fixed issues with secrets being visible at incorrect times for levels 105C (Eye), 110C (Pox), 113A (Beard), 126C (Aspidochelone).

• Fixed animation issues with level 111C (Tools), 125B (Heart).

• Fixed issues with sliders for levels 112C (Muscles), 125C (Heart).

• Adjusted resolution level for some assets.

• Adjusted slider cursor for clarity 119B (Arm).

• Adjusted the manuscript overlay for 122 (WM Early), 123 (Abdomen).

• Fixed an issue with the secret not triggering for 123C (Abdomen).

• Other various minor bug fixes and optimizations.

This is a minor update that fixes a few bugs:

• Fixed an issue with the Secret Items and Manuscripts not displaying correctly on the Bookmark.

• Fixed a bug that prevented the numbers on the Level Info trays from calculating promptly.

Wound Man's Immortal Manuscripts are Finally Revealed

What’s New?

Every level now hides a manuscript- an original, historical image drawn from Renaissance anatomy and beyond. Unlocking one gives you:

• A high-resolution versions of the featured artworks.

• An annotated overlay with pop-up notes that reveal fascinating anatomical and historical details.

This isn’t just gruesome spectacle anymore, it’s a journey into the strange, wondrous history of how humans once mapped the body.

Once a manuscript is found. The Manuscript panel become available (in the top right corner of the screen). From there you can initiate the original artwork overlay or the annotated overlay.

New Collectibles & Secrets

Search high and low, inside and out. There are 30 Manuscripts to uncover. As always, curiosity will be rewarded. Also, as usual, you will have to get your hands a little messy.

With this update, there are now 90 Secrets to Uncover!

With the addition of manuscripts, the total number of secrets across the game rises to 90 — exactly one secret in every level. Whether you’re exploring flesh, bone, or monster hide, there’s always something tucked just out of sight.

Why This Update Matters

Wound Man has always been about strange intersections: history and horror, anatomy and art, the macabre and the poetic. The manuscripts bring those intersections to life, giving you not just puzzles, but stories.

So sharpen your eyes (and your scalpel). Exploration now means peeling back both layers of flesh and layers of history.
