Hey everyone!

We got another quality of life patch today!

We also wanted to say a big thank you to all the new players that have found our silly little game these last few weeks, thank you so much for enjoying Wormies!

Changes

-Added a new breeding combo: you can now use milk wormies to discover the milk snake wormie

-Made it clearer that you need to solve the mysterious strangers riddle before receiving new orders.

-Added a hint when you need to unlock the rainbow wormie to get new orders.

-Added a new option to the autoclicker, allowing you to choose between holding down to place cookies, or pressing once to start placing and pressing again to stop placing cookies.

-Added an information pop up to the breeding toggle.

-Added a new text pop-up below newly unlocked wormie names for combinations with more than one possible result. Like: “1/4 Results Discovered”. We have seen players struggling to get certain wormies if they were in a combo with multiple results, this should hopefully help with that. You can also toggle this off in the gameplay settings.

-Added a page number count to setting screens with multiple pages.

Bug Fixes

-Fixed the Cap cosmetic being called Blue Cap while having more color options.

-Fixed combining fruit wormies with rainbow gummy wormies not resulting in baby wormies.

-Fixed rubble wormies being able to breed and turn the other wormie into rubble.

-Fixed being able to breed more geode wormies by combining them with other random wormies.

-Fixed Aqua/Red striped and spotted wormie names being inverted.

-Fixed an issue where gem and rubble wormies could overlap on other wormies wormie info pages.

-Fixed being able to softlock yourself if you didn’t claim minty’s gift before getting her next order. (If you were already affected by this issue, the wormies you would have received are now unlocked in animal wormie pack)

Today we’re adding support for controllers, Steam Deck and Linux!

Changes

-Added controller support.

-Added Steam Deck support. While the game already technically worked on Steam Deck the controls weren’t great, this has now been greatly improved!

-Freeze on Hover is now automatically toggled on for first time Steam Deck users, this makes it easier to pick up wormies.

-Added Linux support. Same as above, the game technically already ran on Linux but some functionality like Steam achievements weren’t functioning yet.

-Added a new controls page in the settings menu.

-Breeding plain wormies with certain special recolorable wormies will now always result in the child becoming a special wormie instead of a plain wormie.

-Added a sound effect to changing wormie list pages on the sell box screen.

Bug Fixes

-Hopefully fixed the issue where webshop messages could appear empty.

-Fixed resolution settings scrolling very slowly.

-Can no longer open the computer while the game is paused.

-Can no longer move between crates while the game is paused or the computer is open.

Please note!

If you were already playing Wormies on Steam Deck or Linux, your save files will be missing due to the game now running a native Linux instead of Windows build.

You can recover your save files by doing the following: Steam Deck

-Hold the power button

-Press Switch to Desktop

-Open the file browser

-Enable Hidden Files

-Navigate to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/4058290/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow

-Find the Maple Bay folder and the Wormies folder inside.

-Copy your wanted save file folders

-Go back to home in the file browser

-Navigate to /home/deck/.config/unity3d/

-Find the new Maple Bay and Wormies folder in there.

-Replace the empty save file folders with your old ones by pasting them in there.

-Go back to normal Steam Deck mode and launch Wormies

-Your save files should now be there! Linux

-Navigate to ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/4058290/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow

-Find the Maple Bay folder and the Wormies folder inside.

-Copy your wanted save file folders

-Go back to home in the file browser

-Navigate to /home/user/.config/unity3d/

-Find the new Maple Bay and Wormies folder in there.

-Replace the empty save file folders with your old ones by pasting them in there.

-Launch wormies

-Your save files should now be there!
