Full Steam announcements and update articles for this title.
After 5 months since its release, I took some time for my family and myself, and to work on the next steps for Wordatro!
Today I wanted to share a small update mainly focused on addressing some of the feedback you’ve given me.
Here's a little preview of what's changing:
The daily challenge is no longer infinite! No more improbable daily scores, everyone will have the same limit. You'll have to use even more strategy to get the highest score possible!
You can insert letters into the word you are building Well, it was about time, I admit. But it was a lot of work!
More words in the dictionary In French: over 30,000 new words. In English: over 100,000! And other languages too! Again, it's about time, but it's not as simple as it seems...
Bonus balancing. Yes, indeed. Bug fixes, of course! We've fixed most of your reported bugs and some others you hadn't noticed 👀
Don’t forget to join the game’s Discord server to share any bugs you might encounter and chat with the community : here.
I still wanted to take a moment to share dolphinoa11/Asakura’s run on Discord — they took on an incredible challenge on October 19th:
That’s pretty insane and definitely worth mentioning!
After more than a year in development, my first game as a solodev is finally out!
I plan to keep working on the game and make regular free updates.
Here's a list of what I'd like to implement in the short, medium and long term:
accessibility features
ability for players to suggest words to add to the dictionary
option for players to add their own dictionaries
For the moment, the roadmap is still hazy because... I'm about to become a father 🍼 (not of Wordatro, but of a real baby!).
It's my first child, so I'm having a hard time realizing how much time I'll have available afterwards... That's why I wanted to get the game out now, even if there are still improvements to be made. You've already got hours of gameplay ahead of you!
Your feedback and suggestions are invaluable in improving Wordatro, so don't hesitate to share them on the Discord server or the Steam Community Hub! I promise, in between baby bottles, I'll do my utmost to keep improving the game!
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me in the development of Wordatro. Many of you have playtested the game, given me feedback and suggestions, streamed the games, kept the Discord community alive, talked about it around you... you've been incredible!
Leaving a positive review on the game's Steam page would help enormously to promote it on the platform and contribute greatly to its commercial success. If you'd like to support me and the game, please don't hesitate to do so. I'd be very grateful!
You may have noticed that the layout of the bonuses has changed, or that the interface is no longer exactly the same. These changes are the result of work carried out with Olivier Nourry (from Games Accessibility Hub) to make the game accessible to as many people as possible.
Thanks to the exchanges we've had, I've been able to make the game more accessible, and I'd like to push things even further by proposing a thematic update on accessibility in the coming months.
The game interface is available in 9 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, Russian and Simplified Chinese) and you can play with dictionaries in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and Dutch.
Perfect if you want to improve your language skills or play with your kids to learn words!
Thanks again for your support during the development of Wordatro! Now that it's time for me to concentrate on my new job as a dad, I'm handing over to my publisher Abiding Bridge to pass on your feedback. I'll get back to you soon, I promise!
Have fun!
Wordatro! is coming to Steam on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 7 p.m. CET!
I'm both very happy and very scared that it's so soon... If you haven't already, please consider adding the game to your wishlist to help me gain more visibility.
I'd also like to remind you that for every 1000 wishlists, I'm giving away a key to the game on the Discord server!
For the occasion, I've made a major update to the game, with 7 playable languages instead of 2, and 9 languages available for the player interface!
You can now form words in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Dutch. The interface is available in all these languages, as well as in Chinese and Russian.
4 difficulty levels to test your language skills
50+ unique bonuses: Incredible upgrades and synergies to destroy score targets
50 creative challenges: put your skills to the test with a myriad of additional challenges.
A new demo is available to give you a taste of the full game.
To coincide with the game's release, the Wordatro! soundtrack will also be available on Steam! Immerse yourself in the relaxing ambience that Tiny Squid has composed for peaceful play.
The soundtrack will include all 8 tracks featured in the game, for a total of over 20 minutes of music!
I'm working with Olivier Nourry (from Games Accessibility Hub), who joined me on the Wordatro! adventure to make the game accessible to as many people as possible. I'll tell you more about this when it's released, but here are a few points that reinforce Wordatro's accessibility:
Some animated effects can be deactivated, and 3 speed levels are available to prevent kinetosis,
Color is not the only vector of information,
Large, self-explanatory icons,
Wordatro! can be played in windowed or full-screen mode,
Typographies chosen for their legibility
See you on Monday, 23rd. I can't wait!
