It has been quite a while since the release of the last free DLC for Windstop Strategy! During this time, we have been fully focused on developing the Sandbox Mode. Due to the addition of significantly more content than originally planned, the release date has been pushed back slightly. We sincerely apologize for the delay!
The development of Sandbox Mode is nearly complete, and we have already conducted internal testing for a week. To recive your feedback and ensure stability upon release, we have decided to invite more players to join the testing phase!

12 Sects Available: Choose from 12 unique sects.
Difficulty System Overhaul: Brand-new custom difficulty options with adjustable parameters. All values can now be fine-tuned freely.
Landmark System: Construct landmarks on tiles to unlock special functions and buffs.
Random Event System: Various random events will trigger periodically throughout the game.
Enhanced Sect AI: Improved AI behavior patterns.
The difficulty system has been split into modular configurable options, with distinct settings available for Sandbox Mode and Story Mode respectively.
A dedicated difficulty settings entry has been added to the system menu, allowing players to adjust all specific custom difficulty parameters freely mid-game.
In Sandbox Mode, each sect gains unique offensive and defensive buildings exclusive to its faction.
Sandbox Mode features a streamlined economic building system; players may construct structures that boost revenue and facilitate character recruitment.
Players can build Inns in Sandbox Mode to recruit generic minion characters. Recruited units incur upkeep costs, which can be disabled via difficulty settings.
Sandbox Mode removes exclusive story events for story characters, yet players may still upgrade their unique affixes. Luck items can be obtained to offset the additional Luck consumption incurred from this change.
Every AI-controlled sect autonomously conducts diplomacy with other factions, including improving or deteriorating relations, forming alliances, and declaring war.
AI sects automatically construct offensive, defensive, and economic buildings on their own.
AI sects independently recruit characters and assemble combat parties.
AI sects may join players in certain random world events.
Individual sects feature distinct AI behavioral dispositions and personalities.
Dire Wolf Mantra: Automatically counterattacks when taking damage, inflicting Wound debuffs, amplifying damage against bleeding targets, and granting passive self-healing. Unlocking its passive further boosts defense and incoming healing effectiveness.
BloodHunt Archery: Centered around bleed mechanics; all attacks apply bleed damage and deal increased damage to bleeding targets.
Bloodthirst Mantra: Applies a lifesteal buff to allies, restoring HP proportional to damage dealt. A Fatigue debuff is inflicted once the buff expires as a penalty.
Savage Bone Staff : Attacks stack Fatigue stacks on targets; targets are stunned once stacks reach the cap.
New Barbarian and Bandit enemy units tied to regional invasion events have been added.
Unique NPC competitors exclusive to the Martial Arts Tournament have been implemented.
Martial Arts Tournament: Dungeon-style event. Players may register upon entry to compete against arena opponents across five successive battle rounds.
Wandering Jianghu Heroes: All recruitable overworld story NPCs spawn randomly across the map; multiple interaction methods are available to recruit them.
Northern Barbarian Raids: Barbarians periodically launch invasions on land plots, triggering defensive battles. Defeat reduces plot development level, deducts currency, and worsens relations with neighboring sects.
Rampaging Bandits: Locations face periodic bandit harassment. Players may either suppress bandits or offer amnesty. Completion yields rewards, and player choices alter diplomatic standing with other sects accordingly.
Ruin Excavation: Ruins occasionally spawn at locations for excavation. Treasures are unearthed after a fixed turn countdown, and all factions may contest ownership of the loot.
Wandering Merchant: Merchants host auctions for a randomized selection of treasures, with players and AI NPCs taking turns placing bids.
Night Crow Incursion: Night Crow Chieftains periodically launch assaults on random strongholds.
The initial Sandbox random event system includes over ten unique events, with additional events planned to be added to the spawn pool in future updates.

Save file interface now displays corresponding scenario labels for better identification.

Hovering over the currency counter on the world map displays a full income and expenditure summary.
Events such as \ have been consolidated into the Errands panel.
Dodge stacking cap increased from 80% to 95%.

Thank you for your patience! The DLC "The Cloud Peak" for WindStop Strategy is now available! You can visit the Steam store page to add it to your library for free and start your adventure!
Of course, the development of another highly anticipated feature, the "Sandbox Mode," is also progressing in parallel. Its current completion rate is around 70%. As we aim to make the Sandbox Mode more enjoyable and content-rich, it will require more time for refinement than originally planned. We sincerely apologize for this delay and kindly ask for your continued patience.
As one of the content updates promised before the game's release, "The Cloud Peak" offers a standalone Roguelike experience separate from the main game. Players can choose to play as Ximen Xiang or a "Nameless Hero" to embark on a challenging new adventure atop the mysterious Whisper Peak, filled with battles, treasures, and unknown encounters.
Upon the Cloud Peak, a single sword cut across the sky.
Ximen Xiang perished, her body blocking that fatal blade. Yet, her soul did not scatter—a path to the underworld opened, trapping her on this solitary mountain, suspended between life and death.
Fifteen harrowing layers, an infinite cycle. Each ascent is an inquiry into fate.
Will you hold onto your original self? — Traverse the Netherpath as the soul of Ximen Xiang, with fragments of memory surfacing layer by layer: your mother's disappearance, your father's obsession, the letter never sent, the chilling moment she took the sword for you... In the end, the foe you face is not an external enemy, but the forgotten self within.
Or will you be reborn and transformed? — Plunge into this mountain of the deceased as a completely new identity. Observe the memories of others while forging your own path in the jianghu. You do not know why you have come, only knowing that the end of the Netherpath holds the exit.
Fifteen paths, seven major regions — From wild trails to the Night Crow's Nest, each layer features unique enemies and encounters.
Five professions — Iron Guard, Allrounder, Shadow, Sharpshooter, and Herbalist, each with exclusive affixes and progression paths.
Over fifty martial heroes — Each boss battle unravels a tale of jianghu enmity.
Twenty-four types of special events — Ruin Relics, Wandering Physicians, Black Market Vendors, Illusions of the Heart Demon... Choose your next step wisely.
Infinite cycle mechanism — Upon completing one cycle, the difficulty escalates, presenting an endless challenge.
Heroes' Leaderboard — Compete with heroes from across the land on the real-time leaderboard. Every step forward in your adventure helps you achieve a higher score. Only the strongest can claim a place on the leaderboard. Will your glory be fleeting, or will you reign supreme?
Note: After downloading, this DLC can be accessed via the "Scenario Selection" menu in the main game's New Game section.
New Discount + Original Soundtrack Release
WindStop Strategy will be available at a -12% discount from April 28th to May 6th. Furthermore, the Original Soundtrack has been released simultaneously with the "The Cloud Peak" DLC. Produced by independent musician Bian Huijing, the soundtrack is priced at $0.99. After deducting necessary taxes and fees, all proceeds from the soundtrack sales will belong to the music creator.
*This content is independent additional content and does not affect any content, save files, or balance of the game itself. After installation, it will not modify the game's original files, only providing original soundtrack resources. Regardless of whether purchased/installed or not, it does not affect your normal gameplay of the game itself and other modes.
Thank You, All Heroes
Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude once again for your support of WindStop Strategy. Following the release of "The Cloud Peak," we will focus all our efforts on advancing the development of the Sandbox Mode.
Stay tuned for more updates!

Greetings, Sect Masters! It’s been a while since our last update. In this patch, we’ve added several quality-of-life features to the game and fixed a number of previously reported issues.
❗ This update is approximately 82MB in size and includes updates to parts of the C# script layer, which may affect the stability of some C# MODs ❗
Now you can view the damage dealt, damage taken, healing done, and shields provided by characters after combat.
❗ P.S. To accurately track the source of shields, this update has added an additional parameter for the caster to the shield addition function on the Lua script side. As a result, MODs related to shield skills may cause abnormal statistics for shield-provided values (this does not affect the combat logic of shields; the shield values will simply be counted by default to the character receiving the shield). MOD developers who have modified such skills will need to adapt to this change.
Accessible via the second-last function button in the bottom right corner of the map, this feature is mainly used to aggregate and quickly access persistent events such as location-based shops, hunting, and character favorability.
This feature will re-sort the skills learned by the current character by quality.
Fixed: Issue where character names in the character list overlap with each other when too long.
Fixed: Issue where recruitment events for commoner professions such as Allrounder and Herbalist in the Spirit Hedgehog throw errors with no response when clicked.
Fixed: Issue where a large number of recruitment texts for commoner characters were missing and untranslated.
Fixed: Issue where relevant prompts for diplomatic actions such as declaring war were not translated correctly.
Fixed: Issue where \'s \ had incorrect damage calculation (resulting in lower-than-expected damage) and failed to spread even when the required poison stacks were met.
Fixed: Issue where the enemy formation was set incorrectly during the first defense against the Boar Ridge attack.
Fixed: Issue where the \ passive of \ did not take effect correctly.
Fixed: Issue where placeholders and rich text tags for some skills, affixes, and Buffs were garbled in English/Traditional Chinese.
Fixed: Issue where the item tooltip popup layer on the Item page was blocked by the item search box.
Fixed: Issue where the Boss Whale's model had a weapon attached repeatedly.
Fixed: Issue where the shield steal value of Brother Qi's Awakening Trait was calculated incorrectly.
Fixed: Issue where the shield break calculation of Sharpshooter's Talent \ was incorrect.
Fixed: Issue where the judgment value did not match the actual value after clicking "Select All" in scenarios requiring judgment (such as \).
Fixed: Issue where the relevant storyline had no follow-up after losing the fight to help Duan Xiao nian in the distress call event in the Immortal Bamboo Cave.
Adjusted: Unified the lists on the character details page and combat formation interface to vertically scrollable grid lists.
Optimized: After sorting the character list and saving the order, clicking save again will automatically store it in the corresponding .Summary file, no longer requiring selection of a save slot for saving.
Updated and modified some C# Mod code comments on the Lua script side.
Affixes for Kismet Cultivation now support configuration via \ (the AffixFlag column in the Excel table configuration). With this setting, the affix will only appear in the Kismet Cultivation affix pool and will not randomly refresh on newly generated NPC characters.
Adjusted: Refined some information prompts when Steam MOD uploads fail to help MOD developers locate issues.
Added: Support for Lua events when loading save files.
Greetings, Heroes,

Additionally, to celebrate in a small way, we spent some time during the Spring Festival reworking the previous demo. This demo is expected to be available for about a month, and you can head over to Steam to download and experience it for free!
PS: Due to technical support issues, the demo does not support the use of MODs. We apologize for any inconvenience!
Hello everyone!
Thank you all for your support of our project.
Current Steam sales have far exceeded our expectations! Additionally, we've received all your feedback and suggestions!
This new year, we'll redouble our efforts to make the project even more satisfying for everyone. The new sandbox mode and free DLC are currently in active development and will be released as soon as possible.

🚧 This update includes engine-level changes with a patch size of approximately 1.5GB 🚧
We have recently dedicated development efforts to upgrading the game's engine from Unity 2021.3.4f1c1 to Unity 2021.3.13f1c1, addressing several known issues in the previous engine version:
Resolved the issue where right-click input would stop working after switching the primary/secondary mouse buttons. UUM-3959
Fixed the inconsistency between UI click hitboxes and actual rendering in certain windowed resolution modes. UUM-7893
Corrected abnormal Shader rendering on specific AMD graphics card models.
For a complete list of engine-level fixes, please refer to the official Unity release notes for this version.
The updated engine version remains fully compatible with Assetbundle-based MODs built with the previous Unity version. MOD creators working on custom models or C# script functionality may continue using Unity 2021.3.4f1c1 for model imports and development—no need to switch to Unity 2021.3.13f1c1.
Added a new Legendary-tier Bow Martial Art \ to the CreateRole Page at the start of the game and the Star Pavilion's Shop.
This martial art weakens enemies' tenacity, stacks Vulnerability, deals heavy debuffs to single targets, and spreads all debuffs from the target to other enemy units.
Revised visual display for the DragonBay area on the world map; repositioned DragonBay, Bear Isle, and Monkey Isle to prevent obstruction by the End Turn UI in the bottom right corner.
Fixed the issue where the rightmost skill button was obscured by the Auto button in 9-character party setups, leading to accidental clicks.
Corrected the inconsistency between battle visuals and plot descriptions in the Dark Prison Dungeon Execution Grounds.
Fixed the incorrect revive count calculation in the Blood Demon Ancestor Rescue Battle.
Resolved the issue where unactivated Traits could be enabled by clicking them beyond the limit while Trait Affix Editing was active.
Fixed the non-functional passive that stacks debuff layers for Arhat Mantra.
Corrected the target description error for \ (from Two Forms Art ), which incorrectly displayed enemies as the target.
Fixed abnormal target display when switching Staff Stances of Monkey King's Staff Technique.
Corrected the issue where certain skills with a default cooldown of 1 round were incorrectly set to 2 rounds after Cooldown Reduction stat calculation.
Fixed the issue where the Bagua Buff from White Jade Twin Fish Pendant disappeared instantly at the end of the round.
Resolved the non-functional positional passive skills for Heaven-Earth Step .
Due to a previous oversight in version configuration ːlunar2019crylaughingpigː, after the release of Version 1.0.10, the in-game version number still displayed as 1.0.9 instead of the correct one.
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
This 1.0.10.1 patch serves as a supplementary update to Version 1.0.10 to calibrate the version number. The correct version number (1.0.10.1) will now be displayed once you launch the game.
New: A new lightness martial art \ has been added to the starting inheritance.
This martial art mainly provides a certain damage reduction effect, enhances bleeding counter-damage, and can provide the bearer with a wooden abatis for defense.
Enhancement: The levels of units summoned by \ Technique, \ Trait, and \ will now partially follow the summoner's level (taking the higher value between half the summoner's level and the summoner's level minus 5, instead of a fixed low level).
Fixed: Issue where Lu Zhui's portrait might remain on screen after the Overlord Route ending.
Fixed: Talent \ of the Herbalist not taking effect.
Fixed: Issue where internal Damage caused by \ of \ only took effect when casting \.
Fixed: Issue where \ of \ did not correctly return half the cooldown on odd turns.
Fixed: Garbled display of the buff name of 【Nine Infant Blood】 during battles.
Fixed: White borders appearing on externally loaded mod images.
Fixed: Bug where 【Black Narcissus Poison】incorrectly increased the target enemy's poison damage (it should actually reduce the target's poison damage reduction).
Fixed: Contradictory dialogues in the rescue plot related to Xia Si's favorability.
Fixed: The structure of some ExcelTable referenced in the mod sample table not being updated to the latest version.
Fixed: Issue where the introduction and description in the mod editor's information interface could not be edited in multiple lines.
Optimization: The mod upload interface will now prioritize automatically loading preview.png in the mod directory as the upload preview image.
Fixed: The issue where the Legendary Treasure 【Exquisite Treasure Armor】 failed to remove attacker's positive buffs.
Fixed: The incorrect buff-applier parameter issue for the skill 【Lone Soul of the Great Desert】 in Soul Claw Technique.
Fixed: The missing item reward issue for 【Clear Mind Powder】 in Huaqiao Academy.
Fixed: The garbled dialogue issue when persuading Star Peak to surrender in the Overlord storyline.
Fixed: The inconsistent dialogue issue with Brother Qi during the alliance invitation story of Immortal Bamboo.
Fixed: Adjusted "Throwing Buns" from Fine attribute bonus to Rare attribute bonus, and "Dragon Follow" from Fine attribute bonus to Rare attribute bonus.
Fixed: The issue where the Basic Staff Manual could be sold.
Fixed: The discrepancy between the actual description and the number of stacks for 【Wash Tendons, Marrow Cleansing】 in Tendon Classic.
Fixed: The issue where incorrect priority order in loot quality judgment for 【Search】 events caused rewards of a fixed quality to always drop.
Fixed: The issue where the effect of 【The Soul Returns】 in Impermanence Blade Technique was interrupted, and the incorrect target issue for 【Where Does the Soul Go?】.
Fixed: The issue where the cooldown reduction effect of 【Shadow Stacks】 in Sword Step failed to work.
Fixed: The issue where the sound effect of the Oil Flask was not controlled by the sound effect manager.
Fixed: The issue where some passive skill names in Blood Bagua displayed skill codes.
Fixed: The issue where the external skill description for the snake was incorrectly described as the wolf's attack.
Added: Expanded filtering display for buffs above combat units. Adjusted the display colors for some buffs.
Adjusted: Reduced the Anti-Parry and Accuracy stats for the Night Crow Boss on Hard and Expert difficulties.
Dear Heroes:
First, we would like to sincerely apologize. After the release of Patch 1.0.8, we received significant criticism from the community regarding the adjustment to the "Supporter·Attack" talent for the Sharpshooter. This change not only disrupted normal gameplay progression but also had a considerable impact on several mainstream playstyles and builds.
Hereby, we have decided to revert the effect of this talent to its state in Version 1.0.6. The original trigger probability will no longer decay, and chain attacks will properly trigger the basic attack of the current martial technique.
(Additionally, 1.0.8 only introduced a decay mechanism for the trigger probability. The issue where chain attacks triggered an independent "shoot arrow" action instead of the martial technique's basic attack was actually an unintended result of a bug fix...)
In any case, we thank everyone for your feedback. Moving forward, we will focus all our efforts on developing new content for the game and strengthening underperforming martial techniques, items, and talents.
The following are the fixes and adjustments included in this patch:
Fixes:
Fixed: The percentage damage from the "Preemptive Strike" talent for Allrounder not taking effect.
Fixed: Auto-battle not correctly judging skill sequences for effects like "Blazing Combo" and "Continuous as Flame," which are part of the Tiger Flame point system.
Fixed: The "Shadow Among Flowers" effect from Butterfly Dance failing to reduce cooldowns.
Fixed: The Infinite Unity: Stacks not triggering when a shield is active.
Fixed: The "Armor-Piercing Arrow" talent for Sharpshooter not triggering correctly.
Fixed: Multiple repeated lines of dialogue in Ji Yeman's daily affection events.
Fixed: Xia Si's Ultimate Awakening talent description not matching its actual effect.
Incorrect description: Basic attacks and ultimate skills of "Stink Arrow" reduce target's damage dealt by 60%.
Actual effect: When this character's basic attacks or active skills hit, the target's damage dealt is reduced by 30%.
Fixed: The manuals "Cloud Spear" and "Soul Step" disappearing when filtered by their respective martial art categories.
Fixed: Incorrect icon display for the manual "Soul Claw"
Fixed: The healing effect of BOSS Fox's enraged phase 2 not working, and reduced the healing amount of Fox's "Beauty's Dance" skill.
Adjustments:
Added: New starting legacy items: Su Yanyan's Heart-Linked Pendant, the Heaven-Overturning Cup from Longwan Ferry Gambling Den, and the Nine Infants' Blood for the Evil path.
Buffed: The first talent of Iron Guard: Fist Aptitude 5 -> 15, Staff Aptitude 5 -> 15.
Buffed: Heaven-Overturning Cup stats: 100 Crit, 100 Dodge -> 200 Crit, 200 Dodge, and removed the permanent 10% Vulnerability to Negative Effects.
Adjusted: Reverted all changes to the "Supporter" talent for Sharpshooter back to the old Version 1.0.6 state. Probability no longer decays, and the issue of not triggering based on basic attacks has been fixed.
Finally, we once again apologize for the disruption caused by Patch 1.0.8.
— The Development Team of Windstop Strategy.
Dear heroes,
Windstop Strategy version 1.0.8 has officially launched. In addition to regular fixes, this update includes adjustments and enhancements previously available in the beta branch. Below are the detailed changes:

Fixed the issue where "Cloud Ink" and "Ink Shadow step" were not correctly configured as \ and \ skill types.
Fixed the issue where negative attribute values incorrectly participated in percentage bonus calculations.

Fixed: In Expert difficulty, equipment on dead common NPCs was not being returned.
Enhancements and Adjustments (primarily aimed at strengthening underperforming characters, classes, and skills in terms of cultivation and combat effectiveness)
Buffed: All units can no longer Dodge or Parry while under the weakness Stun state.
Buffed: The extra deployment count of DongFang Li's【Lone Fierce Dragon】 changed from 8 to 2 (this feature had no extra deployment count in version 1.0.7; it is still a buff compared to the live branch).
Buffed: When Night Crow appears or the \ is entered, your sect can still continuously gain location income, and hunting will also refresh.
Buffed: The damage of Allrounder's \ changed from \ to \, and the target selection strategy changed from \ to \.
Adjusted: Sharpshooter — \ changed to independent trigger mechanic; Damage: Attack × 0.3 → 0.5; however, within the same combat round, each successful trigger halves the next trigger chance (max 5 triggers per round remains unchanged),and the support talent trigger chance for SharpShooter now decays at most 2 times (previously 5 consecutive decays). Dear Heroes,
WindStop Strategy has been available for over a week now, and we would like to extend our sincere gratitude for the support and feedback you’ve shared across various platforms. Version 1.0.8 marks the first balance-focused patch since launch, and it represents an experimental step forward. Our goal is to enhance the overall enjoyment of gameplay builds by improving the practicality of certain "underwhelming" skills, talents, and items, while also rebalancing content that "performs far beyond our original design expectations." Given the team’s limited development experience, we’re uncertain whether these adjustments will align with everyone’s expectations. Therefore, we’ve decided to initially release this patch as a test version. Once we gather more community feedback, we’ll evaluate the overall response before determining whether to implement it in the official branch.
