Small patch following the v1.2.9 version!

• Themed map editor packs now auto unlock for all players when leveling up, if you are already high level (>20) you will unlock the packs by completing checkpoints.
• Fixed Tankey Town grass not rendering
• You earn more marbles and XP now completing checkpoints and after Tankey Town pursuits, making it less tedious to unlock all map editor items, skins and bullets.

Ancient Difficulty

Since too many players have completed the campaign on grandpa, we needed a difficulty that no one should be able to complete fully. So here it is, ancient difficulty.

• Enemy tank spawns? Completely random. Any tank can spawn at any time.
• Tanks with new abilities!
• Boss fights? Twice as intense. Good luck...
• Winning? Not an option. ;)

Performance Boost

We've optimized the game across multiple systems, by reducing the amount of objects that cast shadows and reducing the amount of lights that cast shadows. (and some other behind the scenes stuff)

• If you've got a powerful PC – enjoy the extra smoothness.
• If you're on a potato – congratulations, the game runs better now.
• If your PC was already struggling before… well, at least it's struggling less now.

BUT WAIT, there is more!!

• Bullets will now have the color of the team instead of white or black outlines, and will also be always visible if friendly fire is TURNED ON
• Fog weather has been revamped, should be much better on the performance and also looks nicer
• Added Fog of War toggle in the map editor, allowing to make the whole map black and discover the map as you go. You can also set the view distance in the editor
• All enemy units have much shorter view distance on fog weather, so the player actually has a more fair chance of fighting back
• Pressing any key or left mouse button now resets the automatic companion timer kill bar
• AI companions now scale according to the set difficulty, they are much dumber on the lower ones. They are the same still in grandpa mode

Fixes a bug where the game would not load/save data correctly.

Hey Everyone! This update will address two important bugs and adds some small changes to the UI.

• If all players are dead and there are companions alive, a timer of 20 sec will appear and afterwards the companions will explode
• Changed the menu name from Singleplayer -> Play
• Changed the menu name from Multiplayer -> Online Multiplayer
• Fixed a bug where tanks wouldnt die because of corrupt save data
• Fixed a bug where the map editor menu would be empty when the game was set to another language than english

Hey Tankers! Another small update fixing some more bugs reported lately. Thank you all for reporting them on Steam and the Discord.

The bug fixings list

• Clapperboard being bright in sunset
• Russet and Cherries shoot a bit slower
• Trains spawn a bit further away from the level so the player has more time
• Shortened the tutorial messages in the classic campaign so it doesn't block the game
• Friendly tanks no longer count as enemy tanks on clapperboard during loading
• White tanks no longer very visible on dark foggy missions
• Black tank no longer gets stuck driving circles on grandpa difficulty
• Fixed updating campaign not actually updating the workshop campaign
• Some more changes to the new classic campaign

Quick Update Fixes Tankey Town and Tutorial mission not being available. Will focus more the coming days on the smaller bugs reported in the Steam Discussions tab and also on Discord.

Hotfix that fixes the True Run missions not generating correctly

This hotfixes fixes some smaller bugs reported last 24 hours. The bugs fixed

• Chinese usernames showing up blank
• Challenges not saving fixed, this was not logged within local user save data, from now on it will be logged in the save file.
• Fixed Commander Beam music not playing
• Fixed Commander Beam not using secondary laser attack
• Fixed map editor camera getting stuck if clicking too fast on perspective button
• Added Lazarus and Laser tank to custom tank music selections
• More settings added for creating mod pack objects for the map editor

Small hotfix

• Fixes companions not being able to move after reviving
• Fixes secret missions causing pink floors in custom campaigns
• Added mod pack support (new feature, in alpha stages)

Quick Fix Fixes the tutorial level, where the player would spawn as a wooden block.

Detailed bug list

• Classic Campaign got a full overhaul, many missions have changed
• Limited Summer Campaign available till the last day in July (might change in the actual official version release soon)
• Big music overhaul, revamped music tracks. Music now also goes more in-depth and changes based on amount of tanks present

• Map editor new short key CTRL+Z now available
• Physics overhaul for tanks, speed values have changed and have affected all campaigns. Be sure to check your campaign and changes the stats of your custom tanks
• Player tank no more getting stuck on sides of walls
• All tanks now drive normally when driving on top of blocks
• Summer pack unlocked once you complete the special summer campaign
• More floor textures added for the map editor
• You can also change the floor outside the border
• Added random tank spawner and placer to the editor

• You can now select many more tanks for tank factories and surprise blocks etc...
• Fixed engineer turret animation not playing
• Fixed custom campaign checkpoints not continuing
• Fixed a bug where a corrupt workshop file would freeze the download queue
• Redone water and lava effects making it blend in nicer with surroundings

Summer Update v1.2.0

The Summer update will include a total revamp of the Classic Campaign, a limited time available Summer Campaign, completely redone musics and many bug fixes! Get your sandals ready, because it's going to be hot!

Hey Tankers! Here is the fix to workshop maps not showing up and/or not loading.

Fixes

• Workshop maps not showing up in map list
• Workshop maps disappearing after converting
• Workshop maps not loading and going back to main menu
• Cursor automatically hiding and resetting to centered position if a controller is connected, now it will keep checking the last input allowing players to switch between controller and Mouse&Keyboard mid-game.
• Final mission 100 showing wrong key input when trying to board the plane

Last hotfix (hopefully)

Fixes:

• Map border not showing up in multiplayer
• Main menu buttons are more snappier
• Pause menu as well
• Fixed unlockables weird hover
• Wasted screen a bit shorter in duration
• Fixed Ambient Occlusion having ugly dithering, looks better now
• Shadows are also sharper in higher qualities
• Tanks that spawn from a crate can spawn with a random 360 Y rotation
• Garbage mode even more garbage now, might run better!

Fixed lobby menu acting weird after the UI update ;)

UI FIX

The needed (controller) UI fix is here, fixing (hopefully) all the reported UI bugs. If there are any more UI issues, be sure to make a bug report on Steam or in the Discord. Thank you all for helping improving the game.

Hey there, back with another hotfix! What's fixed?

• Achievements not unlocking
• Achievements now sync up with Steam if there are any inconsistencies
• Multiplayer campaign enemies are fighting again
• Multiplayer custom tanks load correctly again
• Challenges not showing up

Hi guys! Small hotfix addressing the issues with multiplayer enemies and also achievements. Fixing:

• Achievements not unlocking
• Achievements now sync up with Steam if there are any inconsistensies
• Multiplayer campaign enemies are fighting again
• Linux builds work again

Casino

Ready to earn (most likely lose) a lot of marbles?! Now introducing the Casino! Play the slot machines or try shooting the tanks on the shooting range, a new way of spending your precious marbles.

Offline mode

Wee Tanks has now switched from using a custom database to using the Steam Cloud saves, no more issues with accounts not signing in or other game breaking online buggies. If any issues arise with the account syncing from the online system to offline Steam, please don't hesitate and contact me

Some more bugs squashed:

• Extended waiting time for Steam auth, so less likely to be signed out when booting the game
• Fixed multiplayer difficulty hover text being empty
• Fixed sound slider still appearing after closing pause menu
• Pressing escape on the main menu does not exit to the account menu
• The language selection menu on first time boot, now auto-skips to the tutorial level after 20 sec
• Fixed that if you exit the "challenges" menu from "extras", you get thrown into the "singleplayer" menu

Here is a quick hotfix fixing the following two things:

• A thick fog in the tutorial mission, making players see nothing
• Workshop multiplayer maps not popping up in the host lobby menu

Hallowee Update is here!

For a limited time, the game is changed to Halloween theme and you can now play the Hallowee survival map "The Cemetery"!

Perspective change

The camera has been switched from the flat orthographic mode to perspective mode, giving the game a lot more 3D effect (and allowing for awesome Post Processing effects)

Classic Campaign way faster loading times

Have you noticed that it could take quite a while to load in the classic campaign? EXTRA: First person mode

After completing the Most Wanted achievement, you unlock the First Person Mode. Because why not look at the tanks up-close when shooting them?! • Fixed level 100 tanks on the pillars having incorrect barrels
• Repair sound fixed, it was missing in multiplayer

Tutorial Prologue

• Mine lobbing reduces player speed now
• Mine lobbing will result in player death if holding down too long
• Working trains in the editor, you can switch the settings to "Tracks" and it will function as actual trains

• Can now continue checkpoint again from checkpoint 1 (multiplayer bug)
