We have some exciting news to share: we've once again teamed up with Makeship to bring another iconic We Were Here character into the real world. This time, however, we may have made a terrible mistake...
Meet The Jester Plushie.
After the incredible success of our previous Makeship campaign featuring the Best Friend and Worst Friend plushies, we knew there was only one logical next step: unleash one of Castle Rock's most notorious residents upon the world.
And so, The Jester has officially escaped the castle walls.

We have a little surprise for all Explorers who supported our Best Friend & Worst Friend campaign!
If you backed our previous Makeship collaboration, be sure to check your inbox (and perhaps your spam folder as well). You should have received a special discount code that can be used to complete your collection.
In case you missed it, our newly announced adventure We Were Here Tomorrow still has a playable demo available for a little while longer.
If this visit from The Jester has you longing to return to the world of We Were Here, this is the perfect opportunity to dive back in and discover what Tomorrow might hold.
Of course, no return to Castle Rock would be complete without bringing a co-op partner along.
All of our games are currently part of the Steam Summer Sale, making this the perfect time to continue your journey through the We Were Here series, or introduce a new Explorer to the adventure.
We can't wait to see The Jester finding a new home among Explorers around the world!
Just remember: if you hear laughter coming from the shelf in the middle of the night, that's on you.
Dear Explorers!
We just dropped the We Were Here Tomorrow demo here on Steam! This is your first chance to get a taste of the mysteries tomorrow will hold....
In this demo, you will explore the opening area of the Norcek facility and face three cooperative puzzles designed to test your teamwork, observation, and communication.
The demo will be available for one week only, so make sure to grab your co-op partner and jump in while you can. Play the demo now!

A new co-op adventure awaits you. We Were Here Tomorrow has officially been announced.
In this next standalone entry of the We Were Here series, you and your partner wake up inside a mysterious facility. Strange machinery surrounds you, and a calm, confident voice guides you through a series of assignments.
Often separated and equipped with different tools, you’ll need to rely on your walkie-talkies to communicate clearly and work together. Each assignment introduces new asymmetrical puzzles that can only be solved through cooperation with your fellow explorer.
As you progress, you’ll slowly uncover why you ended up here and what your role is within the facility. Only by working together can you decide the fate of Tomorrow.
Two-player online co-op
Asymmetrical puzzles and separate roles
Distinct character abilities
A retro-futuristic facility filled with secrets
A standalone story within the We Were Here series
We Were Here Tomorrow is coming to PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Crossplay will be available across platforms!

As 2025 comes to an end, it feels like the perfect moment to pause, look back, and reflect on everything we’ve experienced together this year. Most of all, we want to thank you, our Explorers, for yet another year filled with kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. None of this would be possible without you.
To celebrate the holidays, we’ll be hosting a series of festive giveaways from December 22nd through December 26th over on Twitter/X and Instagram. Be sure to keep an eye on our socials during that time if you’d like a chance to win some awesome surprises. But before we look ahead, let’s rewind and revisit some of the major milestones that shaped our year.
This year, we truly made our new Total Mayhem Games office our own and it finally feels like home. From creative chaos to cozy corners, it’s been amazing to build a space where ideas can grow. Curious to see how it all came together? You can check out our moving vlog over on YouTube!
One of our biggest milestones this year was bringing the first three We Were Here games to Nintendo Switch, complete with cross-play across multiple platforms. As an indie studio, this was a huge achievement for us, and we’re incredibly proud to welcome even more explorers into Castle Rock, no matter where or how they play.
We also had a wonderful collaboration with Makeship, bringing the Best Friend and Worst Friend plushies to life. Seeing them find warm new homes (and even join us on a few Rotterdam adventures) has been an absolute joy. We hope they’re causing just the right amount of chaos wherever they’ve landed.
Of course, the year wouldn’t be complete without the Steam Winter Sale. All of our games are currently on sale, so if you’ve been looking for the perfect excuse to gift a friend a co-op adventure, or finally complete your own collection, now’s the time! As we look ahead to what’s next, we can confidently say that 2026 will be another exciting year for us. But for now, we hope you enjoy a cozy holiday season, filled with warmth, rest, and maybe a puzzle or two.
Happy exploring, Total Mayhem Games

Both We Were Here and We Were Here Too have received brand-new updates! These patches focus on quality-of-life improvements, making it easier and smoother than ever to step back into the cold, mysterious halls where your journey began. From technical fixes to subtle polish, these updates breathe fresh life into the first two games of the series. Perfect if you’ve been thinking of revisiting the adventure or introducing a new partner to where it all started.
We’re thrilled to announce that both We Were Here and We Were Here Too are now available on Nintendo Switch! 🎉 This marks a whole new way to explore the Antarctic mysteries with your partner, no matter where your adventures take you.
And we’re not stopping there: We Were Here Together is also on the way for Switch, planned to release on October 9th. Alongside this, it will receive its very own quality-of-life update, bringing the same improvements that our earlier entries just received.
We’ll be at the show with We Were Here goodies, friendly faces from the dev team, and plenty to chat about regarding the past, present, and future of the series.
It’s because of you that the We Were Here journey continues to grow across more platforms and adventures. Whether you’re returning to the frozen halls or stepping into them for the first time, remember: the only way out… is together.
Patch Notes:
Memory Optimizations
Progression Migration (players can now start a new journey and select the checkpoints they've unlocked in the old version of the game)
Minor issues resolved with the Friends menu
Patch 2.0.7. is a maintenance patch upgrading our engine, plugins, render pipeline and internal systems in preparation for the crossplay update together with the Switch release.
The main menu got an update as well and looks different from before. You can manually select your checkpoint if necessary, by clicking on "change" > "start new journey" > "select your checkpoint".
We have some very exciting news to share: we worked together with Makeship to design We Were Here plushies and the campaign is live starting today! Meet the Best Friend and Worst Friend plushies, inspired by all those times your buddy either saved you… or locked you in the dungeon “by accident.”
Support the campaign by grabbing your plushie(s) on Makeship.
If we reach 100% funding, the plushies are officially going into production.
Didn’t make the goal? No worries, everyone gets a full refund.
Once funded, your new fluffy partners take 2–4 months to make, then ship right to your door.
Can’t choose? Don’t! If you pick up both the Best Friend and Worst Friend plushies, you’ll get 5% off, because let’s be real: We Were Here is always better with a partner.
Keep both as a trophy for your “flawless” comms, or gift one to your partner-in-crime so they never forget who really left who behind…
We can’t wait to see these little buddies on your shelf (or stuck in Castle Rock with you). Let’s make it happen, together.
Some of you know these halls all too well. You’ve wandered the frozen corridors of Castle Rock, walkie-talkie in hand, voice cracking through the static. You’ve solved puzzles, shouted directions, cracked codes, and yes, maybe left your partner behind once or twice. It happens.
For years, the We Were Here series has tested friendships on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Now, it’s time for a new expedition.
Your favourite co-op adventure is going handheld (or docked, if you want to see your friend betray you on the big screen).
To play on Switch, you’ll need two things: a Nintendo Switch Online Membership and an external microphone. The trilogy will also be backwards compatible with the Switch 2, so whether you’re playing on shiny new hardware or your trusty old console, you can still team up together. As always, you and your friend will both need a separate copy of the game you want to play. If you're new here, We Were Here games are all about two players, trapped apart in a forgotten place, trying to escape through communication alone. You won’t see each other, and can only talk to each other over your walkie-talkies. Every puzzle you solve depends on how well you work together.
If you’re a weathered Explorer, this is your chance to bring a new partner to Castle Rock. That friend who only games on Switch? Time to hand them a walkie-talkie and hope they’re better at reading runes than you were.
Whether you're playing curled up in a blanket fort or squeezed into a train seat, remember:
You’re never truly alone…
