Year of the Horse is here—wishing you good fortune!🎉
This 1.1.4 update mainly tackles the “I’m stuck and don’t know what to do next” problem. We’ve added an objective hint system—just open your inventory to see your current objective, so you can always confirm where to go and what to look for, without running in circles and guessing the progression.
It also continues our previous puzzle and guidance improvements (less distraction, clearer clues, and more non-text hints), making the overall experience smoother and harder to get lost.
This update adds a new option that many of you might enjoy: the Retro Filter.
I personally love playing with it enabled—some scenes can suddenly bring me right back to my FC days. It’s only for a moment, but the feeling is strangely magical. If your school years happened to fall in the “pixel era,” you might understand the kind of nostalgia I’m talking about.
Puzzle clues have been specially adjusted, so they remain clear and readable even with the Retro Filter turned on.
As for the UI style, the interface hasn’t been fully pixelated—at the moment, only the item icons are pixelated.
You can toggle this effect on or off at any time in the settings, so it’s very convenient.
Hope you enjoy it!
Water of M will be joining the Winter Sale! If you’ve been on the fence, now’s a great time to jump in. Add it to your wishlist to get notified when the discount goes live.
We’ve also released a small 1.1.2 update to further polish the experience:
Localization
Refined the Japanese localization text
Added two previously missing translated lines
Improvements
Added new flashback scenes
Added a B button Back function across multiple UI screens
Thanks for all your feedback and support — hope you enjoy the game this winter! Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
Hi everyone!
The visual update in Version 1.1.1 mainly focuses on two things:
I simplified the pursuer’s design to make the overall focus clearer.
I also made the weapon in his hand look cooler.
All of this is meant to further strengthen the pursuer’s oppressive presence and improve the gameplay experience. Hope you’ll like it!
A little dev story:
That night, it was already very late when I finished this update. The quiet late-night hours are perfect for sleep. As usual, I shut down my PC, turned off the desk lamp… I walked to the bed, ready to collapse and fall asleep.
Then, maybe because of thermal expansion and contraction, my monitor made a sharp click. I looked over—and the room was pitch black, except for a tiny red light on the monitor.
In an instant, I got goosebumps. A black figure was standing there, with a single red eye staring straight at me…
“This can’t be…” I told myself, but that image was stuck in my head. After a while, my eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness… and the figure disappeared.
And just like that, all my sleepiness was gone.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year! 🎉

Hello everyone!
If you enjoyed the quiet yet steadily unsettling atmosphere of Water of M, I’d like to share a small piece of news with you:
My new short horror project, “Only Me on the 8th Floor”, now has an official Steam store page. It’s a compact horror piece inspired by comments from Water of M players asking for a story featuring a female protagonist.
🔗 Steam Page (Add to Wishlist)
This isn’t a sequel to Water of M. If anything, its timeline takes place before the events of the main story. If you enjoy eerie spaces, looping floors, and anomaly-spotting gameplay, I hope you’ll give it a look. There are many games in this genre, but I’ve tried to bring in some new twists— …hopefully nothing overlaps with other titles too much.
🎮 A Demo will be available before the upcoming Steam Next Fest.
Thank you all for supporting Water of M. I’ll continue doing my best to create more experiences you’ll enjoy.

What’s going on? The lotus flowers in the school… have been replaced by some kind of strange fruit. Is this an invasion from another world—or an anomaly?
Find them, take a screenshot, and post it in the community to earn points!
A special edition playable only during Halloween! Lotus lanterns → Pumpkin lanterns
Wishing everyone a quiet Halloween!
