Warhammer: Mark of Chaos is now available on Steam for the first time. This classic RTS brought the Warhammer Fantasy world to life with unprecedented scale and detail for its time.

This re-release is a faithful version of the original game from 2006, with fixes and improvements necessary to ensure it runs smoothly on modern systems.

Modern System Compatibility

• Compatibility with Windows 10/11

• Fixed several crash instances

• Fixed compatibility issues

• Improved stability and support for systems with two graphics cards (integrated and discrete)

  • The game will always use the discrete GPU for stability reasons

• Added Vulkan API support

  • With Vulkan support the game works on graphics cards that previously could result in stability issues (e.g., integrated GPUs)

  • The game should automatically switch to Vulkan when necessary

  • If needed, the Vulkan setting is available in the game’s config file “seal.cfg” in the game’s folder

• The game no longer crashes when certain models of Logitech mice are connected

Steam features

• Added Steam Cloud support

4K and Ultrawide support

• Redeveloped support for 4K resolutions

• Added proper UI scaling for resolutions up to 4K

• Added ultrawide aspect ratio support

Language localizations

• Alongside English, German, French, and Italian, the game can now also be played in Spanish, Polish, Russian, and Hungarian

• Added fixes to the Hungarian localization

• Ensured that, in English, Russian, French, and German, cutscene subtitles match the voice-overs

General fixes

• Improved loading times across the game

• Improved readability of tooltips during gameplay

• Reapplied old patches to the game — originally, some fixes weren’t applied despite installing updates

Please Note

• Steam’s save folder location is different from other versions to avoid save conflicts

• Known issue: The game experiences stability issues on Intel UHD Graphics 630

• Known issue: In Polish and Russian localizations, some voice-overs may still be in English
