For the Emperor.
This is a small intermediate update to the wargear system.
We are adding a 3rd Wargear slot to some classes so tabards and capes could be equipped at the same time.
This is why some tabards were removed from some chest pieces in this patch in preparation to be moved to a separate slot.
With Patch 15 you will be able to equip everything together.
In addition to that, with the next update robes and tabards are coming to Vanguard and Heavy.
Capes for Bulwark are also in the works, however it will take a bit more time (not in Patch 15), since robes need to be removed from chest pieces first.
Oh and "Something we should have done a long time ago" customization feature also coming in Patch 15 :)
Robes for the Assault and Tactical classes have been added, along with tabards for the Assault class which can be earned by completing new Ordeals.Added 6 Heroic Weapons (Thunder Hammer, Power Fist, Bolt Carbine, Melta Rifle, Power Sword, Stalker Bolt Rifle) to unlock with Accolades.

We are pleased to announce that we are going to continue expanding our official mod support for the game and will bring mod support to consoles. This is a massive undertaking that is going to take a long time to implement and we’ve been working on it for a while, but now we are ready to announce it officially.
The mod support will expand in multiple stages. The first stage would bring full Steam Workshop integration to the game and it should happen very soon.
It has been very exciting (and sometimes very funny) to watch what our modding community can come up with. We are going to continue helping the community grow and improve the toolset.

May’s all about Warhammer Skulls and therefore we’ve launched Patch 13 - Purgation Update a week ago! Have you tried it already?
In this month’s Community Update, we shall reveal some Year 3 spoilers, recap Purgation Update’s content, and remind you of the ongoing Twitch Drops.
Lots of exciting things are coming in Year 3, and today we’re too excited to keep them under wraps, so here are a few spoilers!
Throughout Year 3, the game will receive five major updates (Patches 15 to 19). Once again, there’ll be plenty of free content for everyone, including new weapons, missions, and more. On top of that, there’ll be a Season Pass packed with Chapter cosmetics and Champion skins.
We’ll also continue placing a strong focus on improving the user experience and fixing bugs throughout Year 3, making the game smoother, more stable, and more enjoyable for everyone.
Now for our first spoiler: a new Class is on the way, planned for the first half of 2027! We can’t reveal which one just yet, but we can say it’s been highly requested by the community. As we did with the Techmarine, this new Class will receive its own special Champion Skin after its release.
Place your bets! Which Class do you think it will be? 🤔😁
The Year 3 roadmap will be revealed alongside the Second Anniversary Update. Stay tuned!
The Iron Hands Chapter pack includes a Techmarine Champion and a skin for its signature weapon, the Omnissian Axe.
Armour pieces were added as part of the Chapter Customisation Pack:
L&R Greaves
L&R Gauntlets
L&R Pauldrons & Decals
Four Successor Chapters were added alongside the Iron Hands Chapter Pack, including:
Brazen Claws
Iron Lords
Sons of Medusa
Red Talons
Investigate Chaos activity near a Cadian base and stop an unholy ritual.
As you make your way across the swamps, stay alert – Chaos corruption status effect will apply if you spend too much time in the waters.
The water corruption grows over time, and eventually, geysers may erupt near your squad, dealing damage unless you evade them.
Several new features were implemented in Siege Mode:
Now, you can earn weekly Accolades for completing Siege Mode.
New items have been added to the shop, including a Commissar to boost Cadians, explosive mines, Tarantula Sentries and a Tech-priest to defend as he gets you currency boosts.
Blessings and Atonements were introduced. It’s up to you to pick and choose them and customise your mission. Pick 1 Blessing amongst 3 every 5 waves. One Atonement is applied every 5 waves as well. You can reroll it in exchange for some Siege currency.
The Hive Tyrant and Mutalith Vortex Beast can now be encountered as Bosses. And the timer got a rework too. Now, when the timer’s over, you won’t get a Game Over, but enemies will become subsequently harder to beat.
For further details on the new gameplay features, we strongly recommend checking the 13.0 Patch Notes right here.
Here’s a compendium of what’s new:
Battle-Barge Battle Simulator
Perks Loadout
New Ordeals
Regarding the new Ordeals, our chapter Chaplain has learnt of a number of “creative” practices with the private lobbies to quickly get the rewards, and has instructed all units to heed the following warning. We’re not going to fix these, but you’ve been warned, Space Marines!
Wargear Sharing
New Rewards in the Refinement & Redemption shop (3 Weapon Variants and 6 Armour Variants)
New weapon: Bolt Carbine Sidearm (One-handed)
Earlier this week, we released a hotfix to improve the connectivity issues that occurred with the Patch 13. It also lowers the requirements to unlock the Wargear Sharing items. You can read the patch notes here for further details.
To celebrate the release of the Purgation Update, we’re hosting a Twitch Drops campaign until June 11 with these special rewards.
Watch any streamer on Twitch playing Space Marine 2 for 30 min, 1 and 2 hours to earn the Mark X Skull Breastplate, 100 Accolades and the brand new Victrix Honour Guard Gauntlet.

New Feature: Wargear 2.0
Expanded customisation options allow each class to wear multiple wargear at once, such as capes, iron halos and sensor antennas.
We are going to continue to expand the customization system. With the next update we are also going to add robes and tabards to the shared wargear pool. But as in this update, players will have to earn their wargear. Also, more unique wargear items are coming.
Known issues that will be fixed in an upcoming hotfix:Iron Halos cannot be customised depending on the equipped Backpack for the Tactical & Bulwark.
Storm Shields cannot be customised if the Bulwark has an Iron Halo equipped.

L&R Greaves;
L&R Gauntlets;
L&R Pauldrons & Decals;
4 Successor Chapters
Non headshot damage increased by ~30% for bolter weapons.
As we have discussed before, we want to close the gap between body and headshot damage for ranged weapons. The issue is that headshot damage calculation was very complex, because there were 2 sources of it: enemy damage zone sensitivity and weapon itself. Which results in weird multiplicative stacking that was very hard to manage and track. With this update we are doing massive rework and cleanup where we went through each enemy and adjusted its internal damage region sensitivity.
In short, as a result: headshot TTK (Time To Kill) of all enemies should be the same, while non headshot TTK will be lower by 30%.
The global headshot modifier has been removed from Majoris and Extremis enemies and adjusted on Terminus enemies.
The headshot bonus now depends directly on the weapon’s stats, rather than on the target’s stats.
Weapon headshot bonus was greatly increased for all bolter weapons to compensate for removal of headshot bonus from enemies.
Known issue: as a result of the body shot damage rebalance, the gunstrike damage of secondary weapons shifted a lot. In some cases it increased and in some cases it decreased. This is not intentional and will be addressed in a hotfix.
PS. We haven't forgotten about contested health rework. It is still coming. The change is very big, very complicated from the technical side as well and needs to be playtested a lot. Since the Patch 13 didn't have PTS we were not comfortable to release it in the wilds.
Neo Volkite Pistol
Heat status effect accumulation is increased by ~16%
Contested health recovery increased by 18%
Plasma Pistol
Common shot damage increased by ~30%
The pistol's versions have been updated:
The cooling speed version now also features increased max ammo.
Default version is now a damage-focused version.
Plasma Incinerator
Common shot damage is increased by ~40%
Charged shot damage is increased by 10%
Burning Status Effect
Terminus enemies take 20% less burning damage over time on all difficulties
Power Axe
Fixed an issue with the “Power Wave” perk not working as intended.
The maximum number of damaged targets for Power Backstep without perk was increased.
Fixed the incorrect cooldown value in the description of the "Restoration" perk: changed from 20 to 15 seconds. The actual gameplay value was correct and has not changed.
Power Sword
Attack speed of all weapon versions has been slightly increased.
Heroic Weapons
Heroic Combat Knife - Argent Edge: the description of the weapon perk has been clarified.
With this patch we are not doing much with perk balance. Let me explain our current vision and our next steps:
There aren't many perks left (~15 total across all classes) that have less than 20% relative pick rate in their column on hardest difficulty. Which sounds good in theory, but that doesn't mean that we are happy.
We need to add more "toys" for our sandbox gameplay before we start replacing perks, just like burning status effect or shock effect. They can be used in multiple ways, weapons, perks etc.We are working on many more of these that can help with perk reworks. After that, we can start the rework process, because I feel like changing numbers or conditions on perks isn't going to be effective anymore. We need more interesting stuff, and afterwards we will start big overhauls.
Our first priority is going to be Tactical class. While it's super strong in both ranged and melee combat, I think it lacks more defined "melee" build options.
Second priority is going to be Vanguard class. I think its biggest problem is that his ability is too one dimensional, especially when compared to Assault.
Third priority is going to be the Heavy class. Again, super strong and effective class. Lots of build variety, but it comes solely from his weapon loadout. His perks don't do enough to promote different playstyles.
While we are working on these big changes, you can expect continued minor adjustments and improvements.
Techmarine
Added Sanctified Wrath Reliquary equipment to Methodical Destruction perk so it would trigger the perk as well as other equipment;
Explosives Adept: Damage is increased from 35 to 50%;
Reinforced Position: Increased bonus from 25 to 30% less Damage and deal from 15 to 20% more Damage.
Heavy
Coolant Reserve: Damage bonus increase from 15 to 50%.
Added more items to the Requisition Terminal:
Tarantula Sentry Gun
Tarantula Sentry Gun Upgrade
Tech-priest
Minefield
Disciplined Reinforcements
Techmarine
Explosive Resupply
Added Blessings and Atonements system:
Blessing and Atonements system: every 5 waves, receive a permanent blessing in the new Shrine and endure shifting atonements.
Adjusted difficulty of the Siege mode
Added Hive Tyrant and Vortex Beast as bosses. They can spawn on waves 5/10/15 etc…
Adjusted enemy spawns to be more intense.
Adjusted difficulty curve so enemies grow stronger much quicker and much earlier.
The intention is to make Siege mode sessions quicker and more intense. In addition to that, we are giving players more options for "build crafting" to make each run different. Since Siege mode rules have changed that much, we've reset max completed waves counter in players save files.
Siege timer reworked
Instead of an instant game over, the enemies will get much stronger each time the timer is triggered.
Added 2 new random side objectives
Added weekly Accolade rewards:
Complete 15 waves on Normal difficulty once per week to earn 50 Accolades
Complete 15 waves on Hard difficulty once per week to earn 100 Accolades
Stratagem weekly rewards reduced to 125 and 175 for Normal and Hard to compensate
The total number of Accolades that you can get per week (without Dailies) is higher than in Patch 12 and went up from 350 to 450.
Added more Siege mode weapon skins rewards
Screamer Pink, Deathworld Forest, Zamesi Desert for all weapons
Added missing coloured skins for weapons that were added later (i.e. Power Axe)
Lots of minor fixes with level geometry
Added a small invulnerability window after a finisher animation.
Improved visibility of "enemy incapacitated" VFX when it is also burning.
Added new free armour, lense, cloth, decal colour: Kakophoni Purple
Added new free cloth colours: Death Guard Green, Zamesi Desert, Khorne Red, Runefang Steel, Thondia Brown, Kantor Blue, Xereus Purple, Naggaroth Night, Phoenician Purple
Added new free lense colours: Ushabti Bone, Death Guard Green, Incubi Darkness, Kantor Blue, Warboss Green, Thunderhawk Blue, Flesh Tearers Red, Baal Red, Bad Moon Yellow, Troll Slayer Orange
Added new free greaves patterns: shin, boot
Added new free greaves decals: battleline, veteran, close support, fire support, command and one colour knee markings
Decal "Atlantean Spears" in the Librarium award was replaced by decal "Emperor's Spears"
Macragge Blue was copied into Calgar Blue. Macragge Blue has been modified. It is now closer in hue to the Macragge blue in Story Mode.
Improved Tyranid Pauldron and made it individual for all classes
Added a Tyranid Hand, unlocked by completing 13 operations on Absolute difficulty
Added Salamander and Space Wolves Champion Tabards for Tactical.
Added Space Wolves Champion Pauldron to all classes.
More interesting stuff is coming soon :)
Added more customization options for Tech Marine:
Left Pauldrons
Gauntlets
Added a lot of free decals for missing successor chapters and warbands (some of them have to be unlocked via the new Ordeals).
Lots of minor customisation fixes for both Loyalists and Chaos.
Scarab Occult Terminator Ranged
Headshot damage is increased to compensate for bolter weapons rework.
Neurothrope
Headshot damage is slightly increased
Non headshot damage is slightly reduced
Health reduced by 25% to compensate bolter weapons rework
Lots of minor fixes with animations.
Fixed a bug where the Techmarine’s servo-gun gunstrike range would depend on the equipped secondary weapon.
Fixed a bug where the Plasma Pistol stopped working after the player self-revives using a Guardian Relic.
Fixed a bug where the Thermal Boost Heavy Class perk would deactivate when switching weapons, even if the magazine is half empty.
Fixed: On The Clock battlefield condition timer no longer keeps running during the outro sequence.
Fixed: Butcher's Gift battlefield condition now correctly disables contested health recovery.
Lots of minor fixes for Battlefield Conditions.
Lots of minor bug fixes.
Lots of minor localisation bug fixes.
Lots of minor UI and sound fixes.
Crash fixes and general stability improvements.
Memory optimisations.
Minor performance improvements.
Minor loading times improvements.
General connectivity improvements.
This month has been quite busy for us, which means we’ve got a lot to share with you! In this Community Update we’ll get into more details with the Roadmap, Patch 13’s content, and the current Community Event.
First of all, we’re incredibly happy to announce that we’ve reached 12 MILLION players!!! 🍾 🎉
A couple years ago, we had great hopes for this project. Today, it has surpassed even our wildest dreams. Thank you twelve million times over. 💙
Here is the up-to-date Year 2 Roadmap you’ve been waiting for.
Here are a few notable highlights from this new Roadmap: 👇
The “REDACTED” DLC is going to be the Salamanders Champion Pack 2
We are excited to announce Wargear rework that will allow players to use Class specific Wargear on other classes. I.e. capes and Iron Halos on Tactical. You will have to earn the right to do so in game. The update will be split into 2. In Patch 13, we will be adding Capes and Iron Halos, in Patch 14 we will be adding Tabards and Robes. With this you can strike out "something that we've said we are never going to do" from the list of things we've said about customization. 😉
Siege mode will get a big overhaul and a ton of new features. Like gameplay modifiers that will allow specific build crafting.
Space Marine 2’s live support has officially been extended into a third year, bringing even more free updates and DLC content. 🎉 Lately, our updates have been very well received by the community, which really motivates us to keep up the momentum for the third year. 😁
Everything that didn’t make it into the updated Year 2 roadmap will now roll over into Year 3, even though we’re not ready to share more details just yet. Don’t worry, all content that has been postponed will remain free, as it was planned for Year 2.
We’re really excited about what’s coming, and we think you will be too!
More info coming very soon 😉 Stay tuned.
Let’s dive into the upcoming content together.
Please note that this time, there will not be a Public Test Server.
The Iron Hands Chapter pack will include a Techmarine Champion and a skin for its signature weapon, the Omnissian Axe.
Additionally, Iron Hands-themed armour pieces will be added as part of the Chapter Customisation Pack: Left & Right Greaves, Left & Right Gauntlets, Left & Right Pauldrons & decals. Symbol customisation will be enabled with this pauldron!
The upcoming new Operation takes place on Kadaku. Your squad will have to investigate Chaos activity near a Cadian base and stop an unholy ritual. We can’t reveal much of it yet, but here’s a glimpse of how it’ll look:
New Ordeals, the “Trials of Resolve” will be implemented. These Ordeals are particularly hard to achieve and are meant to test your skills on the long run. Each Ordeal will have up to 3 difficulty tiers. Some of them will require you to complete an Operation a hundred times, or slaying three Majoris or higher enemies with a single headshot on Absolute difficulty for instance.
Good luck! 😉
Starting with Patch 13, you will be able to equip Wargear that was previously only available to other Classes. There are new cloak and Iron Halo items that can be unlocked through these Ultragrind Ordeals. Note that you won’t have to grind for every single wargear, some will be shared right away. However, lore restrictions still apply, for instance: Snipers won’t be able to equip the Iron Halo.
So, you will be able to equip additional cloaks and Iron Halos. And with Patch 14, we’ll also add sharing for tabards and robes (like the full Bulwark robe).
Several new additions are coming, let’s take a closer look.
New items will be added to the Siege shop, now you can earn Accolades for completing Siege mode. New items include a Commissar to boost Cadians, explosive mines, explosive barrels, turrets and a Techpriest to defend as he gets you currency boosts.
New modifiers will be introduced including both Blessings and Atonements. It will be up to you to pick and choose them to customise your mission. Pick 1 Blessing amongst 3 every 5 waves. One Atonement is applied every 5 waves as well. You can reroll it against some Siege currency.
The Hive Tyrant and the Vortex Beast can now be encountered as Bosses.
The timer is getting a rework too. Now, when the timer’s over, you won’t get a Game Over – enemies become subsequently harder to beat.
The Practice Arena is a new addition to the Battle Barge. Only available in solo, this new area allows you to test your weapons on the enemies of your choice, in the difficulty of your choice. You will have a display showing the total damage dealt and your damage per second. Ideal to try out new weapons, check the most efficient combos and so on.
Check our 6min gameplay video for a first look at it.
Or if you’re looking for a fun challenge, spawn as many enemies as possible and try to survive!
Three new Heroic weapons will be added with this patch:
Plasma Pistol (Charged shot damage is increased)
Chainsword - Block type. This marks the return of the Artificer Block Chainsword that some of you were missing. (The number of blocking stacks is increased to 3 with a higher damage bonus for the third stack and slightly decreased bonus for the second)
Power Axe - Block type (After a perfect block you can move out of the Power Stance and perform a Power Backstep with the next hold attack)
A new secondary weapon will be added: the Secondary Carbine SMG, a close-range carbine with extremely rapid fire. Available for Bulwark and Assault.
This was one of the most requested QoL features: you will now have the possibility to have up to 3 perks loadouts (in a similar way to what already exists for the weapons), for easier selection and less menu navigation. Customise a loadout linked to a weapon, and easily equip it in the Armouring Hall.
New armour parts will also be added as rewards in the Refinement & Redemption shop.
This month, we command that you complete 5 Operations as Vanguard or Sniper, to earn the Infiltrator Helmet.
You have until May 6th to successfully complete your mission. Onward, Space Marines! ⚔️
Thank you for supporting us and helping us improve Space Marine 2. We remain very attentive to your feedback.

Various crash fixes
March has been a busy month for us, with hotfixes, working on patch 13 and more. Alongside these changes, we also want to address recent feedback and share important news about the Chapter Voice Pack.
Let’s dive in!
The hotfixes 12.1 and 12.2 were released earlier this month, bringing stability improvements, corrected issues with some of the Techmarine’s perks, and buffed the Sniper and Vanguard classes, among others.
A 12.3 hotfix, which will bring further stability improvements, is also on its way. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s live.
We are currently working on Patch 13.
The main focus of this patch will be on Siege mode. We are going to add more features to it:
More purchasable items to allow new strategies
Difficulty curve will be reworked, sessions will be shorter and more intense
Playing Siege mode will also grant accolades
More details will be revealed as we’ll be closer to the Patch 13 release.
It will also bring a new PvE mission, more customisation options for the Techmarine, 3 new Heroic weapons variant, a new weapon and equipment, more customisation options items (and a new customisation feature 😉), and of course, the Iron Hands Chapter Pack.
Also, we’re working on an update of the roadmap, as the current one is no longer faithful to reality. We’ll release it in April, so stay tuned!
Note from our Game Director:
We heard your feedback regarding the Chapter Voice Pack DLC and wanted to address it. It's obvious this DLC has failed to meet your expectations and we are sorry about that. Delivering quality content - free or not - is a priority for us.
Let me explain a little more about this DLC, and why we decided to make it free from now on:
The voice pack was originally designed to include what we call “battle chatter”: lines that react to combat situations and are not tied to specific missions. Each character in the voice pack got 450+ lines per 7 languages. However, it does not cover the large amount of scripted, level-specific dialogue found in Operations, which represent roughly 1500 lines for each operation.
We understand that many of you expected your chosen Chapter’s voice to be more complete. That’s on us, we didn’t set the right expectations, and the result feels incomplete. Many production constraints, such as localization, voice actors availability and necessity to keep updating voice packs when adding new Operations, forced us to make the voice pack as it stands currently, and the same constraints are not allowing us to "expand" the voice pack by adding the missing lines.
Looking ahead, we’ll be making improvements to the current implementation. We are currently working on an option to disable replacement of missing level specific VOs by Ultramarine characters, and we'll also expand the voice pack to PvP.
We still believe that expanding customization, whether it’s how your Space Marine looks or sounds, is important for the game's fantasy.
This is why we've decided to offer a refund to all owners of the DLC, and to make it free from now on. We are currently setting up the refund with platform owners. Refunds will start from early April.
Thank you for your feedback and for your continued support.
Dmitriy Grigorenko, Game Director
Starting from early April, the DLC will be free on all platforms.
Steam: You’ll get your refund on your Steam wallet. The DLC will directly be added to all game owners.
Refunds will be processed automatically on all platforms, and you’ll receive an email notification once yours has been issued. The timing for the refund will vary depending on the platform, but all refunds should be completed by the end of April. If you haven’t received yours by then, please contact the platform’s support.
Get ready for this month’s Staying on Schedule event: Unlock the Mark XI Hell’s Teeth Chainsword by completing 5 Operations as Tactical, Assault, Vanguard or Bulwark before April 6th, 2026.
Thank you for supporting us and helping us improve Space Marine 2. We remain very attentive to your feedback.

This month we’ve worked hard to release the Techmarine Update, and now it’s out! Read the patch notes here or take a look at the recap:
In this month’s Community Update, we’re first reviewing the content of Patch 12 released yesterday including the Chapter Voice Pack I. Then, we’re hosting a giveaway to win 2 Collector’s Editions and detailing the two current in-game events with their respective rewards. And finally, we’ll address the latest ideas from Focus Together.
Let’s begin!
The new Techmarine class is here with a unique melee weapon: the Omnissian Axe, along with new perks, finishers, and new exclusive gameplay mechanics. In PvP, you get to play as the Red Corsair Warpsmith with the Heretic Power Axe.
It has its own playstyle, arsenal, abilities and perks. If you want to learn more about the depths of its gameplay mechanics, check this blog!
Praise the Omnissiah 😌
📝 Post-release note:
We saw your feedback about the lack of armour option that the Techmarine currently has. Due to time constraints, we made the choice to focus on Techmarine’s gameplay rather on its customisation options. Rest assured, we will expand the armour options as part of future updates. The Techmarine will have access to various armour parts.
Additionally, a hotfix is planned for next week, addressing various stability issues, as well as a bug soft-locking players in the bridge sequence in Disruption. With 12.0 comes a new Operation called “Disruption”. Defend the Ecclesiarchy District from both the Tyranids and the Thousands Sons.
Here’s your brief for this mission:
Combat Squad Veridian must reinforce a battalion of Cadians besieged by a Tyranid swarm, when an urgent missive from an Ecclesiarchy Priest alerts them to a Thousand Sons ritual profaning a nearby Cathedral. Both onslaughts must be disrupted to prevent a domino effect that will jeopardise concurrent operations elsewhere on Avarax.
The Raven Guard has received its second pack, with a Champion assigned to the Assault Class.
The Raven Guard Champion is associated with the Assault class. Let’s see which elements will be compatible separately with other classes:
Helm: Tactical / Assault / Vanguard / Bulwark / Sniper / Heavy
Wargear: Tactical (tabard) / Sniper (cape)
L. Pauldron: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark / Heavy
R. Pauldron: Tactical / Assault / Vanguard / Bulwark / Sniper
Chestplate: Tactical / Assault
L. Gauntlet: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark
R. Gauntlet: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark
L. Greave: Tactical (without thrusters) / Assault / Bulwark (without thrusters)

And a Bolt Pistol Skin comes with it!
The Carcharodons Cosmetic pack includes 2 Helms, 1 Left Pauldron, 1 Right Pauldron and 1 Chestplate. The armour pieces are automatically unlocked and added to your armour sets once you purchase the pack.

💡 Allow Players To Color Their Weapons: link
Summary: Add a customisation option to change the colour of the weapons.
💬 Thank you for the idea. At the moment, we want to keep the weapon colour skins as a reward for the Siege mode. However, we can confirm that more colours are coming.
💡 Fix Macragge Blue and Lens Colors: link
Summary: The Macragge Blue colour is different from Campaign to PvE/PvP.
💬 Hi! Here's a little explanation regarding this issue:
The reason why color is not exactly the same is because Campaign characters cannot be customized and the color scheme is set in stone. The Campaign characters are not just flat Macragge Blue, there are more advanced shading techniques applied to them that cannot be replicated in PvE and PvP game modes because of the customization. This is why Campaign characters will always look better than recoloured PvE/PvP marines. Especially lenses. Another big factor is how different lighting affects colour shading, as well as different colour correction that is unique to each area of each level.
That being said, we will try to tweak our colours one more time to close the gap.
💡 Assault Dash Attack Improvements: link
Summary: Various ideas to improve the Assault’s Dash Attack.
💬 With patch 12, the Dash Attack has been greatly improved, as well as Assault in general.
💡 Stratagems: Battlefield Conditions On Screen in the Barge: link
Summary: Make the Battlefield Conditions visible on screen in the Battle Barge without having to go to the Stratagems menu.
💬 Thanks for the idea, it's in the works!
💡 Ability to choose which bot teammates go with you on missions and additional customization: link
Summary: More options for bots customisation.
💬 Hello, thanks for the suggestion. However, our focus is currently on improving online aspects of the game. Playing with bots will remain a lower priority compared to online improvements.
💡 More Chapter Insignias On Knee Pads: link
Summary: Add the option to put chapter insignias on the knees for all the other founding chapters and successor chapters.
💬 It is planned!
💡 Special weapons for imperial guard: link
Summary: Add more weapon variety to Imperial Guards.
💬 This is someting we're planning to add to Siege mode.

3 Custom Heads + VO for PvE Characters. (Space Wolves / Blood Angels / Black Templars)
Kraken Penetrator Rounds now correctly apply to bolter rounds only.
We hear your feedback regarding bolters doing too little body damage.
This behavior is kind of intentional. The reason is that Space Marine 2’s engagement distances and recoil are extremely low, while average enemy size is rather big. It's very difficult to completely miss your enemies. This is why the only skill element of ranged combat is to aim for the head, and this is why head shots are so important for bolt weapons.
That being said, I agree that we've overtuned headshots way too much, especially with how different perks and multipliers stack with each other. We will reduce the gap between body shots and head shots. But it's not going to be as easy as applying this perk by default to everybody.
We need to adjust base damage of all bolter weapons and then adjust damage sensitivity on all enemies and do it case by case. So, a big overhaul is coming in this area rather soon, but do keep in mind that aiming for the head will remain the proper way of using bolters.

Stratagems: Hard difficulty Stratagems no longer grant XP.
Contested health no longer fades away during grab animations
Rebalanced melee attacks that have multiple attacks: Now they restore contested health with each strike instead of just the first one.
Slightly adjusted hitboxes of a few melee attacks so they would connect more easily against large enemies.
Fixed an issue where Bolt Sniper Rifle and Las Fusil would miss their targets at extremely long range. Aim Assist at such distances has also been slightly increased.
Improved properties of bullet magnetism for Chaos enemy NPC: Chaos Spawns , Rubric Marines, Tzaangors, Terminators. Making them slightly easier to headshot at medium and long ranges.

Speaking of updates, today, we’ve released a small hotfix (11.3) that brings compatibility with Microsoft Store versions. Also, Patch 12 - Techmarine Update is next! Let’s detail the content together.
We’re targeting the end of February for the release. Stay tuned.
The wait is almost over! To make it more tolerable, we might give you as many details as we can about this new Class. A detailed Devblog was published a few days ago. If you missed it, read it now, right here!
And if you’re too lazy to read all the details, here’s a summary. 😉
What is this new Techmarine class like?
Techmarines are specialists in crowd control and area defense. In melee, they’re able to take on large groups of enemies with their Omnissian Axe, and they also shine in mid-range combat thanks to their firearms arsenal.
The Techmarine’s Special Abilities reinforce this “area defense specialist” aspect. First, the Tarantula Sentry Gun. When a Techmarine is in the squad, Tarantula Sentry Guns spawn on the map and can only be activated by the Techmarine. Once activated, they will automatically shoot at nearby enemies, until they run out of ammo or are destroyed.
Secondly, your Special Ability is the Servo-Gun, which unleashes a powerful volley on enemies, and can be upgraded with the class perks.
The Techmarine class will be available in all PvE and PvP modes when Patch 12 drops, for free of course. No DLC or in-game purchases required.
Here’s a closer look at the Omnissian Axe, both for Loyalists and Chaos!
Please note that the Techmarine is the only Class allowed to bear the Omnissian Axe
As some of you might have guessed, the Chaos counterpart to the Techmarine in PvP will be a Red Corsairs Warpsmith.
With Patch 12 will come a new PVE map named “Disruption”! 💥
Here’s the brief for your next mission:
Combat Squad Veridian must reinforce a battalion of Cadians besieged by a Tyranid swarm, when an urgent missive from an Ecclesiarchy Priest alerts them to a Thousand Sons ritual profaning a nearby Cathedral. Both onslaughts must be disrupted to prevent a domino effect that will jeopardise concurrent operations elsewhere on Avarax.
And here’s how it looks!
Coming with Patch 12.0, 2 new cosmetic DLCs are on their way! This time, customise your experience with the Raven Guard Champion Pack and the Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack! 🦅🦈
Raven Guard Champion Pack
The Raven Guard Champion will be associated with the Assault class. Let’s see which elements will be compatible separately with other classes:
Helm: Tactical / Assault / Vanguard / Bulwark / Sniper / Heavy
Wargear: Tactical (tabard) / Sniper (cape)
L. Pauldron: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark / Heavy
R. Pauldron: Tactical / Assault / Vanguard / Bulwark / Sniper
Chestplate: Tactical / Assault
L. Gauntlet: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark
R. Gauntlet: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark
L. Greave: Tactical (without thrusters) / Assault / Bulwark (without thrusters)
R. Greave: Tactical (without thrusters) / Assault / Bulwark (without thrusters)
Backpack: Assault
The Raven Guard Champion Pack also includes its Bolt Pistol skin.
Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack
The Carcharodons Cosmetic pack includes 2 Helms, 1 Left Pauldron, 1 Right Pauldron and 1 Chestplate.
Unlike the other Cosmetic Packs, the Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack does not add a new Heraldry page to unlock the cosmetic items. Instead, the armour pieces will be automatically unlocked and added to your armour sets once you purchase the pack.
That's not all, the Techmarine Update also brings:
20 new modifiers for the Stratagems mode
You can now swap the different Space Marine heads (for example, you can use the "Assault" default head on the Sniper)
A new equipment has been added: the Restorative Stimms. It takes the slot of your Medicae Stimms, and it will provide a different way to heal your Space Marine's wounds: instead of "burst" of heal, it will regenerate your HP overtime, and also generate contested health (up to 100% of your missing HP, which means you effectively can regen all of your missing HP when used correctly)
3 new Heroic Weapon variants for the Combat Knife (Fencing), the Heavy Bolt Rifle (Combi Grenade Launcher) and the Omnissian Axe (Fencing). Although the three Heroic Weapons were not part of the initial plan, we were so encouraged by your enthusiasm that we chose to add them to our roadmap.
🗓️ PTS is now live on Steam, on Jan 29, and ends Feb 6th. So, go ahead and have a first taste of Patch 12 while you can! You can read the patch notes here.
Please note that since the PTS is a “work in progress” version of the final patch, all the gameplay elements such as all the Techmarine customisation elements or the Voice Selector for the Voice Pack DLC are not implemented yet. Rest assured, they will be ready when Patch 12 releases.
To access the PTS, follow our tutorial here. Since Steam recent changes, you now have to tick the “Tools” box in the Library menu to see the PTS.
We announced our intention to release a Voice Pack last month, and you naturally had a few questions about it! We’ll try to address all the most frequently asked questions hereafter.
❓ What will be the price of the Voice Pack?
🗨️ The Voice Pack will be sold at $4,99.
❓ When will we be able to buy the Voice Pack?
🗨️ The Voice Pack drops with Patch 12, at the end of February. Purchases will open at the same time the patch rolls out.
❓ How many voice lines are contained in the Voice Pack?
🗨️ It will contain over 450 voicelines per Chapter, dubbed in the 7 audio languages already supported by the game, and introduce unique lines based on the Chapter (for example, the Space Wolf will shout “For the Allfather” instead of the usual “For the Emperor”) and your Space Marine will shout these new lines. Same goes for the Social Wheel emotes.
And for those who may be wondering: We’re happy to confirm that each and every one of this Voice Pack’s 1300+ total voice lines were performed by a real voice actor, as our commitment to quality remains absolute.
Voice Actors (english):
Thomas Mitchells (Blood Angels)
Andrew James Spooner (Space Wolves)
Kris W. Laudrum (Black Templars)
❓ What do they sound like? Can I get a sneak peek?
🗨️ Sure! Here is one snippet per Chapter:
❓ Will there be individual Packs? Or, are the 3 heads tied in the same Pack?
🗨️ The Voice Pack comes with a set of three new heads for PvE. All three heads (Space Wolf, Blood Angel, Black Templars) are part of the same Voice Pack. They cannot be sold separately.
❓ Can I equip one Chapter’s head with another Chapter’s voice?
🗨️ Yes, you can equip one Chapter’s head with another Chapter’s voice. Voices and heads aren’t tied together.
❓ Is the Voice Pack Class-Specific? For example: is the Space Wolf for Vanguard only?
🗨️ No, they aren’t class-restricted. You will hear the new voice lines regardless of the Class you’ve picked.
❓ Will other Chapters get a Voice Pack in the future?
🗨️ Absolutely! A second Voice Pack is in the making. We’ll reveal which Chapters will receive it, later this year. Stay tuned! 🗣️
❓ Will the original heads that are in the game now be interchangeable as well?
🗨️ Yes.

Added compatibility with MS Store versions
In today’s blog, we’ll give you a complete presentation of the upcoming new class, the Techmarine!
The Techmarine is a specialist in crowd control and zoning. His arsenal can hold off both crowds of enemies and individual dangerous opponents while his allies safely deal damage. Gameplay-wise, the Techmarine is a mixed class with a slight melee bias. Unlike the Bulwark, who also keeps enemies away from attacking classes, the Techmarine is more focused on pressuring enemies with wide AoE melee attacks and mid-range firearms.
His special ability, the Servo-Gun, unleashes a powerful volley on nearby enemies. Additionally, the Techmarine can detect and activate Tarantula Sentry Guns on the levels. They will attack enemies until they run out of ammo or are destroyed.
A unique characteristic of the Techmarine is the integration of the Servo-Gun during Gun Strikes. This allows for greater movement freedom compared to other classes during these actions, for instance you can perform melee attacks while using a Gun Strike.
The Techmarine can use the following weapons:
Primary Weapons:
Auto Bolt Rifle
Bolt Rifle
Heavy Bolt Rifle
Occulus Bolt Carbine
Plasma Incinerator
Secondary Weapons:
Bolt Pistol
Heavy Bolt Pistol
Plasma Pistol
Inferno Pistol
Neo-Volkite Pistol
Melee Weapons:
Combat Knife
Power Sword
Power Axe
Omnissian Axe
As you can see, the Techmarine’s unique array of weapons includes the standout Omnissian Axe. This new melee weapon is exclusive to the Techmarine, and it’s perfect for handling multiple smaller enemies simultaneously due to its wide AoE attacks. It also has a special move, the “Omnissian Rush”, which makes the Techmarine rush forward, impaling the enemies.
We thought that you might be interested to know the perks the Techmarine will have. You can check out this short video and pause to read all the perks effects, but keep in mind that some values can still change until the release of Patch 12.
That’s it for our Techmarine blog! We hope it gave you a complete overview of this new class, and that you’re excited to test it when Patch 12 releases!

First of all, we wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday season. Our teams are taking a well-deserved break during the winter holidays. 😉
First, we want to address the connectivity issues some of you have been experiencing since the 11.0 update. We are actively working on it, and we apologize for not addressing these issues earlier, as we were collecting more information to confirm it was not isolated cases. You may find the Patch notes for Hotfix 11.1 and 11.2 here.
We wanted to kindly and sincerely thank you for 2025. 💙
Throughout the whole year, you’ve been showing immense support towards Space Marine 2 and the dev team. This year has seen the closing of the first year of live ops content, as well as the beginning of the second year, and we cannot wait to show you what’s in store for 2026. 😊
The next Space Marines Chapters to receive cosmetic DLCs are the Raven Guard and the Carcharodons in Patch 12. Tell us, which one are you most excited to see?
Patch 12 will come with a new class: The Techmarine with the Omnissiah Axe, a new Operation, new Battlefield Conditions for Stratagems, new Heroic Weapons, technical improvements, as usual, and more! 🤫 The Battlebarge Expansion will unfortunately have to be delayed to a later Patch. We prefer releasing a version we're satisfied with rather than just follow a schedule at all costs.
Alongside patch 12 comes new DLC content: a pack of heads & voices based on the Blood Angels, Black Templars and Space Wolves chapters. It will include over 450 voicelines – localized in all existing languages – per Chapter, including unique lines based on the Chapter (for example, the Space Wolf will shout “For the Allfather” instead of the usual “For the Emperor”) and your Space Marine will shout these new lines.
Here’s how they look:
Please note that this DLC is not included in the Season Pass 2
Since it’s the end of the year and you all deserve a gift, you shall be given a little hint on the upcoming Operation, “Disruption”:
It takes place on Avarax.
Your squad will deploy to purge Xenos presence and help besieged Cadians.
An iconic character from the Campaign will come back 🤫
Stay tuned in January for more info regarding the 12.0 update!
Here are some more hints on what to expect in 2026, from Game Director Dmitry Grigorenko:
With the announcement of chapter specific heads and voicelines you can strike out “Something we said we are going to do, but nobody noticed” from the list of upcoming customization additions we’ve mentioned in September. We’re really happy to deliver what you have been asking for months now. Nevertheless, the other 2 hints still remain: 🤫
1) Something we should have done a long time ago.
2) Something we said we are going to do, but nobody noticed.
3) Something we said we are never going to do.
We’ve adjusted our plans and decided to throw in a bit more free stuff than what the Y2 roadmap originally listed.
The progression update item listed in the roadmap is going to be a whole new feature, we will talk about it closer to its release. On top of that we are going to expand the Datavault’s current Ordeal system next year.
We are working on a lot of QoL things and sandbox improvements. For example, a highly requested feature of perk loadouts is in the works.
Contested Health rebalance will happen alongside with Patch 13, but there are going to be a lot of minor QoL improvements before that to build a proper foundation first.
Siege mode will get a big expansion of its sandbox gameplay and we have big plans for its second map.
For the end of the year, launch the Stratagems mode and complete 2 weekly or daily Stratagems in any difficulty to earn the Death or Glory left greave! 🔥
Please note that the Weekly Stratagems are now reset each Wednesday.
The event starts on December 17 and runs until December 31st!
Onward, Space Marines. 🫡
This month, we asked you in a poll, which “big” Tyranid was the most terrifying in Space Marine 2. Among the suggested answers, you’ve picked the Biovore! 🕷️
Now, we’re curious: what exactly makes it so scary to you? 😁
If you want to participate in such polls, we publish them each week and sometimes it’s about Space Marine 2. Keep an eye out on our socials for it! Sometimes we even use the data to refine our games. By casting your vote, you’re doing your part. 😉
In October, we took some time to address some of the latest and most discussed ideas, while bringing answers from Game Director Dmitry Grigorenko. This month we’d like to do it again, but we also wanted to address THE idea that’s gotten the most votes!
You may want to read them here and here first.
💬 Hello there. First off: it's a great idea, and we thank you for it. Such constructed and well-put ideas help us greatly. We're taking notes of the shortcomings in the game's UI. In retrospect, this is how we should have built our customization system for Space Marine 2. But the reality is that we can't do it (for Space Marine 2 😉), not only is it an insane amount of work, you have to consider that we will need to migrate millions of existing save files to a completely new system without breaking anything and without making anyone unhappy with migration. On top of that, we're devoting our resources to other priorities, such as producing maps, DLCs, weapons, enemies, etc.Dmitry Grigorenko, Game Director

SUMMARY
DEV RESPONSE
Heroic Weapon Idea - Calibanite Greatsword
Weapon idea
Greatswords deserve its own moveset and set of finisher animations rather than being just a heroic skin. Those things take a lot of time to implement. That being said "if" 😉 we are to make another melee weapon archetype the greatswords will be a top priority. Sorry, Lightning Claws fans.
Clearer UI in combat
We do agree, this is something we consider adding later down the line
Make the BA Champion R.Pauldron usable for all classes and available as a L.Pauldron
Let's clear things up a little on asset production. It's not that easy to make right pauldrons to be usable on left shoulders.
We do not simply ctrl+c / ctrl+v a pauldron, you have to redo the entire asset from scratch, because all of the text and iconography has to be redone and cannot be mirrored. This also means duplicate textures for patterns and everything.
Our focus for customization was and will always be about adding new stuff first. We would rather do a completely new shoulder pad, rather than have our Art team spend about the same amount of time to add a different version of the same item.
Plus, right shoulders are always our top priority because they can be seen the most from the right side camera when you play.
I'm not saying we are never going to do it, but right now the focus is on adding new items, rather than reworking old ones.
Extend bot customization further by giving them team perks
Let's clarify a bit how the bots work in PvE: since they are not real players, they do not use the same gameplay rules as players. They are not designed to have team perks because their combat capabilities already kind of include some of the team perks. They are going to be too strong if they have team perks. We would rather have players to play in coop than with bots. Bots are a fall back solution.
Assault Ability Resource Rework - Unlock More Fun Dynamic Play
Various ideas to improve Assault's ability and make it less restrictive
We are very hesitant to allow Assault to Jump Pack dash without using his ability, for the same reason why his Jump Pack works differently from Story and PvP. He will be able to skip the entire areas of the map and there is nothing you can do about it.
It's not like we are never going to do this, but we want to see how our changes to Jump Dash build work first without breaking the entire logic of the class. Because Assault is not a bad class right now, definitely not weak. Just need more build variety and Jump Dashes is the prime candidate for it.
Make Dreadnought AI prioritize enemy by threat level
This is something we might consider eventually, yes.
Black Shield/Death Watch cosmetics
Add Black Shield and/or Deathwatch cosmetics
More Deathwatch cosmetics are coming. But keep in mind that Deathwatch from Story are not Primaris marines and we cannot use their armour in PvE.
Increase the amount of available customization slots, because there are now too much cosmetic options compared to the amount of available custo slots
Indeed, that would be nice to have. We'll see what we can do.
Expand the Accolades cap to 1,500
We think that the current cap and rate of accolades gain is fine. Besides, we will be adding more ways to earn accolades in the game, but the cap is going to stay.
Again, we wanted to express our gratitude for your unwavering support and your dedication! Collecting, reading and hearing your feedback on the game throughout all 2025 has been a great help to us.
Space Marine 2 wouldn’t be the game it is without you, and we’re far from being done! ⭐
Thank you, dear Space Marines,
The Saber & Focus teams
