TrimBarktree kicks off a brand-new Wall Street Raider playthrough to celebrate Early Access, and Part 1 doubles as a genuinely useful walkthrough. It runs through the initial aspects of the game and sets a goal any robber baron can respect: earn enough to buy a mega bank... or two.
If you've been circling the store page wondering how WSR actually plays, this is a good place to start watching before you start trading.
Wall Street Raider is in Early Access on Steam now. More playthroughs and updates coming as we keep building.
Greed... for lack of a better word... is good.
I thought it would be appropriate to share an update as we head into Day 2 of Launch Week so that you all are not kept in the dark.
Here are some main bullet points:
We were supposed to launch Early Access, but somehow inadvertently launched Full Release. Steam Team has been contacted.
We continue to patch bugs as they are reported. Lots of patches were deployed yesterday. If you see something, please report on Discord, Reddit, or Steam Discussions, and it will be escalated. Make sure that your Steam settings are set to update early and often for Wall Street Raider, at least, for the next couple weeks.
We are working on a more simplified QuickStart tutorial under Help menu, and fleshing out Wiki pages for Modding, along with potentially more mod-friendly API endpoints. Stay tuned.
I think that's all for now. Round 2...
WE'RE BACK!
Wall Street Raider launches into Steam Early Access on May 14th, 2026!
Originally created in 1986, Wall Street Raider is one of the longest-running financial simulation games ever made. This remastered edition rebuilds the classic with a modern interface while preserving the extraordinary depth that made the original a cult favorite.
What You Can Do:
Buy and sell stocks, bonds, commodities, options, and interest rate swaps across a dynamic global economy
Launch hostile takeovers, greenmail campaigns, and corporate raids
Manipulate markets through insider trading, short selling, and building monopolies
Build a financial empire spanning dozens of interconnected companies
Navigate recessions, booms, scandals, and black swan events
Why Early Access? Wall Street Raider represents 40 years of continuous development and hundreds of lines of original code. Early Access lets us bring the core experience to players now while we continue refining the UI, adding tutorials, and incorporating community feedback.
What to Expect:
Deep, complex economic simulation with real-world mechanics
Dozens of hours of emergent gameplay per session
Regular updates driven by player feedback
A passionate multi-generational development committed to getting this right
Your feedback will directly shape the final release. Jump in, break the market, and help us build the definitive Wall Street simulation.
Hey everyone,
I want to give you a heads-up that the Wall Street Raider Early Access launch, originally planned for March 12th, has been delayed.
The situation is that the game is ready, but the holdup is a technical issue on Steam's end involving the Early Access classification on our store page. Specifically, the Early Access questionnaire that was previously completed appears to have been wiped from their system, and the store page is now locked in a state where I can't re-fill it. We've had an open support ticket with Steam for almost two weeks and are still waiting on a response.
Once Steam resolves the issue, we'll be able to set a new date and move forward quickly. I'll post an update the moment we have one.
Thank you for sticking with us through this. I haven't had time to respond to all the responses on Reddit and Discord. Both platforms have over 1000 members now each, but I have tried to read messages and I can see the excitement. I am extremely disappointed by this development, but it will pass. I know it's frustrating. But the game will be worth the wait.
While we wait, we're releasing the full v9.75 on Itch.io! Michael has heard the requests to play the old version, whether its in anticipation for the new game, personal preference, or wanting to compare the two versions. So I will be working on getting that up ASAP.
Stay tuned.
