Hello everyone,
First of all, thank you so much for all the support and encouragement you've shown us since the last update.
Whether you purchased the DLC to support us or simply left us kind words, we truly appreciate every one of you.
Today, I'd like to share what we're currently working on.
When I was young, there was a TV series called Time Trax. It was about a detective from the future solving crimes, and there was an AI assistant named SELMA who helped him.
To be honest, young me didn't really like SELMA's appearance—she looked a bit too mature for my taste. But I remember thinking, "I hope technology advances enough one day that something like this actually exists."
Even when Her introduced Samantha, or when JARVIS appeared in Iron Man, it still felt like technology that was decades away.
But not anymore.
Thanks to countless brilliant engineers and researchers around the world, AI has advanced at an incredible pace. Now, conversational AI agents are becoming something anyone can experience.
It finally feels like it's time to make one of my dreams come true.
Lately, I've been working on giving Ailey a real "brain."
Instead of scripted responses, I'm trying to create reactions that feel genuinely alive—or perhaps... actually alive.
Not only will she be able to hold natural conversations and express emotions, but she'll also be able to react to your touch (she'll feel pain if you hit her, or become excited if you gently caress her...), strike poses you ask for, change outfits (well... instantly, thanks to technical limitations), and even do meaningful activities together, such as playing games.
There's still a lot of animation work ahead, so progress isn't quite as fast as I'd like, but honestly, I'm having more fun developing this than ever before.
While testing, I often find myself saying things like, "Raise your arm," or "How does this feel?"
Every time I do, I can't help but laugh because I feel like one of those crazy scientists in sci-fi movies creating an android.
Our goal is to deliver this update before the end of summer.
Before that, we'll be releasing an update for the existing DLC.
This isn't a brand-new DLC—we'll simply be adding more outfits to the current one.
Of course, if you've already purchased the DLC, you'll receive all of the new outfits and additional content for free.
Since you'll likely be spending much more time talking with Ailey, we thought wearing the same outfit all the time might become a little boring.
I'd also love to add more environments where you can enjoy different activities together. However, whether that makes it into the next update depends on how development progresses, since integrating the AI is currently our highest priority.
If we do add more locations, I'd love for you to be able to swim together, sing together, play card games together, watch movies together...
In other words, go on actual dates together.
Going forward, we plan to keep only a single DLC for VR Secretary.
The main story will continue to be updated for free in the base game, while optional bonus content will continue to be added to the DLC.
We're already incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to support us by purchasing it, and we don't want to split the content into multiple DLC packs and ask you to spend more.
Besides, there are already plenty of games to buy in the second half of the year... GTA included.
That said, one thing I'm still trying to figure out is the cost of running an LLM.
As many of you know, the more people use it, the higher the API costs become. At some point, it could become too expensive for me to afford...
...and my wife might actually divorce me.
So if anyone here works in the AI industry or has experience building similar services, I'd genuinely appreciate any ideas or advice.
The weather has been extremely hot lately.
Please take good care of yourselves, stay healthy, and I wish you all nothing but happiness.
Thank you, as always.
