After 6 months of building, testing, and bluffing — VELATO opens its tables to players on Monday, July 6, 2026.
If you've been following along through the playtest, demo, or the Steam Next Fest, this is the moment we've been working toward. If you're hearing about VELATO for the first time, the rest of this post is for you.
What VELATO Is?
VELATO is a single-player Poker-Bluff Roguelike Deckbuilder with a twist few games have tried at this scale: you're not just building a deck and chasing big scores or big tables. You're sitting across the table from bosses that watch how you bet, remember when you've bluffed, and decide whether to call you out. Every hand becomes two games at once — the poker hand built on the table, and the mind game played to sell it.
If you've ever stared down an opponent in real poker with nothing in your hand and dared them to call — that feeling, that tension, is what VELATO turns into a roguelike.
What's in the Early Access Build?
78 Jokers, fully playable from day one
Each one bends the rules in a different direction — some build raw scoring engines, some reward deception, some let you manipulate the deck or multiply your winnings. The combinations between them are where the real strategy lives.
Unlimited tables and floors
No artificial run length. Push your build as far as your nerve and your gold can carry it. The blinds escalate, the AI sharpens its read on you, and the pressure compounds. How long can your luck — and your bluffs — hold?
Adaptive Bluffing AI
This isn't an RNG opponent. The AI watches your betting patterns, remembers when you've been caught lying, and adjusts its calling behavior based on what you've shown it. Play too aggressive and it stops believing you. Play too quiet and it punishes the moment you finally push.
Boss showdowns with visible rules and hidden patterns
Each floor culminates in a boss with declared mechanics — but reading their hidden behavioral tells is what separates a clean win from a desperate one.
What This Early Access Is — and Isn't?
This is Early Access, not a full release. The core loop, the bluff system, the 78 Jokers, the roguelike progression — all of that is in and ready to play. What's still on the roadmap:
Throughout Early Access, monthly content updates will refine balance, add Jokers, and polish based on player feedback. The game ships at a fair Early Access price now, with the same price holding through Full Release — early supporters won't be punished for buying first.

🏆 The Bluff Masters Campaign — $500 in Prizes
The moment Early Access opens on July 6, the leaderboard opens with it. From July 11 to July 31 — every run you play, every combo you discover, and every risky bet you cash in counts toward a $500 prize pool.
This isn't just about who climbs highest. It's about who plays hardest, thinks sharpest, and shares the wildest stories along the way.

🎴 Why We're Doing This?
Honestly, we want to see the game played. Watching a community discover combos we didn't design, break bosses in ways we didn't predict, and bluff their way through runs we thought were unwinnable — that's the whole reason we made this. The prize pool is just our way of thanking the first players who show up.
The tables open Monday. See who's still standing on the Steam Leaderboard?
🃏 See you at the table.
