Hello,
First of all, thank you to everyone who has been playing Vampire Crawlers since launch.
The game released on April 21 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation, with 1 million users in its first week. That is obviously a ridiculous number, and as our first Vampire Survivors spin-off, it means a lot to us.
Vampire Survivors began as a very small, very strange project, and over time it grew into something much bigger than we ever expected. Vampire Crawlers is the first time we’ve tried to take those same core ideas and push them into a completely different genre. So thank you for trusting us enough to come along for that, and for the overwhelming response.
🟢We've just released Hotfix 1.4.1 with the following fixes:
Fix a crash caused by a Gatti Amari scuffle happening as an encounter ends
Fix a save slot error that could occur if a brand new player exited before the tutorial finished loading
Improve detection for corrupt save data, or save data brought back from a later version to an earlier one
Add limit to frame rate based on monitor refresh rate to to fix too many resources being used (should reduce number of crashes)
Fix a crash caused by the Echo gem
Demo saves still in the tutorial are now deleted when upgrading to the full game (prevents broken save states)
Improve saving integrity to avoid corruption in the case of power cuts or unexpected app closure
Fix an issue where two save slots could be loaded at the same time, which should help prevent achievement progress from being wiped
🟡 We are also actively working on adding Endless Mode, that will arrive in a few weeks together with QOL updates:
Easier to quit
Easier to access Deck View
Hand sorting
More languages
Our focus for patches is, as usual, to add more fun content. There's more 👇
We also have a roadmap for upcoming content. Now that players have had time to get their hands on it, we’re in a much better position to decide what should come first.
So, in summary:
Thank you for playing
Thank you for the reviews
Thank you for the bug reports
Hotfixes incoming
We have a roadmap
Thank you to everyone at Nosebleed Interactive and poncle for bringing Vampire Crawlers to life, and thank you again to everyone who has played it so far.
See you in the next news post.
Hello Vampire S̶u̶r̶v̶i̶v̶o̶r̶s̶ Crawlers!
The time has come. Today we’re releasing Vampire Crawlers, the first spin-off of Vampire Survivors, now available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.
With Vampire Crawlers, we wanted to take the snowballing chaos of Vampire Survivors and redesign it as a TurboTurn™-based, card-driven BLOBBER with roguelite elements. One moment, you’re taking a stroll through the average Italian countryside; the next, you’re exploring infested dungeons, building busted decks, and headbutting objects at alarming speed, as God intended.
You can watch the launch trailer below.
**Fun fact: Vampire Crawlers contains exactly the same number of vampires as Vampire Survivors.
If you played the demo, the full game expands on those systems with more content, plus fixes and improvements across the board. The game is built around:
TurboTurn™ combat: Turn-based combat without the wait. Queue your moves instantly and let the game resolve them at full speed.
The Combo: cards are played in ascending mana order, and each step multiplies the next card’s effect.
Wild cards that let you extend the stack and push your turns to 10, 20, 30… and possibly more than that
Deckbuilding through progression: gain new cards, find power-ups, chase weapon evolutions, and shape your build as you go
Character cards and summoned survivors that add more effects and help create larger cascades
Dungeon crawling: explore dungeons full of treasures, floor progression, interactive points of interest, and something seldom seen in Vampire Survivors: functioning walls
A pace you choose yourself: take your time and be tactical, or play turns as fast as you humanly can
The full version also comes with the fixes and improvements made after the demo feedback period, and we’re planning to keep the demo available.
Thank you again to everyone who took the time to play, report bugs, and send feedback.
You can get Vampire Crawlers on Steam by clicking the link below.
You can now experience crawling through the average Italian countryside at your own pace with the Vampire Crawlers Original Soundtrack!
Featuring music by the legendary Yoko Shimomura, Daniele Zandara, Filippo Vicarelli, and Michael Coviello.
The OST contains:
Over 1 hour of music from Vampire Crawlers
MP3 and FLAC (lossless) music files
13 main tracks with 13 variations
5 jingles
You can listen to it here for the low, low price of nothing:
Or download it here once you get the game:
That’s all for now. Thanks for staying with us, and happy crawling!
-From everyone at poncle and Nosebleed Interactive
Today we have a couple more episodes of Let's Explore Vampire Crawlers: one about Character Card Triggers, and another about exploration.
- Like all cards, Character Cards have an immediate, straightforward effect when played. But the characters will also stay a bit longer and fight with you, with their lingering passive Triggers. Triggers react when you play a card of their respective color, allowing you to activate all sorts of bonuses and effects. For example, by going on a crawl together with Poe, Suor Clerici, and Mortaccio, playing a simple "Armor" card will also let you draw 1 card, gain 1 Amount, and recover health!
- As you unlock more game mechanics, the Village will also expand, giving you new ways to spend your gold. By exiting the Village, you reach the World Map, from where you can select a new stage for your next crawl. Stage maps give you all the information you need to decide how to navigate the current floor at a glance. Other than enemies, you'll find several points of interest: just bump into anything you want to interact with!
Thank you all once again and see you soon for the demo! - Luca
