All the best, Your DevTeam LAPS GAMES
We have officially started the works for the first major update being Part 01 of our Roadmap. Here is the Roadmap again, if you missed it: & a first view at the new UI & it's reworks. Enjoy dear Valorborn o7
Hello everyone,
We are continuing our work to bring Valorborn closer to the level we want it to reach. Alongside bug fixing and stability improvements, we are also planning the next major steps for the game’s future.
With this update, we are releasing several fixes and improvements.
Improved the Auto Work system. Several issues have been fixed, and the system now works more smoothly.
The Gather and Pickup actions have been simplified and merged into a single button to reduce confusion.
Since Valorborn is still in Early Access, the full world design is not yet complete. Some areas are currently inaccessible. From now on, these world borders will be visible in red as you approach them.
Fixed an issue where NPC names, their order, and created teams could break after saving and loading.
Added signs to the market and other important locations.
Improved troll combat.
Added a new crash reporter. If your game crashes, which should now be much rarer after the latest updates, you can easily send us a crash report.
Each update puts us one step closer to our vision of the game and we would like to share also some WIP and tools we have created to ease up the workflow to be even more efficient.
The bug reports and suggestions you send us are extremely helpful in improving the game. However, since we are a small team and receive a large number of reports across Steam, Discord, Reddit, and other platforms, it became difficult to track and organize everything manually.
To solve this, we developed a new internal web-based bug tracker that helps us collect, analyze, detect duplicates, and prioritize bug reports and suggestions from different platforms.
This allows us to organize all feedback more clearly, focus better on development, and spend less time manually searching through reports.
If we have not been able to reply to you directly on Discord or Steam, please do not worry. We are reading and reviewing your feedback and working hard to use it to make Valorborn better.
We have also started using a new and improved reporter system. This tool not only helps with crashes, but also allows you to report issues and bugs you encounter during gameplay.
This helps us collect information faster and more reliably, which means we can react to issues more quickly.
We have officially started working on the new UX and UI for Valorborn, and progress is already underway.
The new UIX, planned to arrive with our first major update, is being developed together with a professional team and is heavily based on your feedback. Our goal is to create an interface that is cleaner, easier to understand, and more useful during gameplay.
We hope this change will significantly improve the overall game experience. Alongside the new UIX, we are also working on new features that will be introduced in future updates.
That is all from us for now. We want to keep you updated as much as possible about the game and its development. More news will be coming soon.
New updates are on the way, and we want to give you the opportunity to test some of them before they are fully released. However, please keep in mind that these versions are not stable. They may include bugs, errors, and issues that could affect your save files.

We are excited to share the current development roadmap for Valorborn and give you a clearer look at what we are working on next.
You may also notice that some features are not shown on the roadmap. The update list shown here is only the first roadmap we have prepared for Valorborn. There is still a lot more content we plan to add beyond these updates, and Magic is one of those features. We will continue sharing much more with you throughout Early Access. At the moment, our main focus is a hotfix for the inventory and crafting issues that players have encountered. We are working to release it as soon as possible, along with several additional improvements.
In the weeks ahead, we plan to release frequent updates focused on improving the overall gameplay experience, polishing core systems, and making Valorborn clearer and more enjoyable to play. As the core experience becomes stronger and more refined, we will begin shifting more of our focus toward new content, the Auto Work redesign, and the UI overhaul.
We will continue sharing our progress regularly on both Discord and Steam, including what we are currently working on and what is coming next. Keeping you informed throughout Early Access is important to us.
Thank you again for all your support, feedback, and patience. We will keep working hard to make Valorborn a much better game.

Hello everyone,
Valorborn has now been live for 12 hours, and we want to start by sincerely thanking you for all of your feedback, both positive and critical.
We have been reading as much as we can, reviewing your comments carefully, and identifying the most urgent issues that need immediate attention. Your feedback has already been incredibly valuable, and it is helping us focus on the problems that matter most.
We put a great deal of effort into preparing Valorborn for launch, but as a two-person development team pursuing an ambitious vision, some issues only became clear once the game was in players’ hands. This is one of the reasons we chose Early Access, so we can continue improving the game with your feedback and keep building Valorborn into the experience it is meant to be.
Here are the notes for Valorborn’s first hotfix:
Fixed issues
Fixed a crash issue that could happen before the game fully opened
Fixed an issue where unfinished buildings could not be continued after saving and loading
Fixed construction issues affecting certain builds, including the Smelter
The Blacksmith and Smelter can now be built properly
Fixed an issue where quest locations would no longer appear on the map after saving and loading
Applied a temporary fix for traders having empty chests, which caused empty trade windows
Corrected the names and descriptions of some important items
Added various minor improvements and fixes
Known issues
Inventory sorting is not working correctly
Items crafted at crafting stations may disappear
Other
Markets and taverns are now open at all hours.
Extra tutorials have been added to the tutorial map.
You can continue playing using your existing save files.
Note: If you want to skip the tutorial and begin directly in the world of Valorborn, simply untick the box below the name field on the character creation screen. This will let you start in the main world right away.
We are working hard to resolve all critical issues and known bugs as quickly as possible.
With your feedback and support, we will continue to improve Valorborn and push it toward a much stronger, better state.
We will also be sharing our roadmap very soon.
Thank you for being here with us at the very beginning of this journey.

Hey everyone,
We’re incredibly happy (and honestly a bit stunned) to share that Valorborn has passed 40,000+ wishlists on Steam.
From all of us at LAPS GAMES: Thank you for the trust, the hype, the feedback, and for believing in our little medieval sandbox RPG.
Your wishlists and comments are what inspires a tiny team like ours to keep pushing Valorborn forward. Every time that number goes up, it means more time we can spend refining systems, adding content, and making this world feel truly alive.
We’re still a very small team, and one of our biggest challenges has been splitting time between:
Building the game
Handling messages, emails, socials, and content
To fix that, we’ve made an important change.
We’re very happy to announce that kormakrtv has officially joined LAPS GAMES as our Head of Marketing & Community.
What this means for you:
Faster responses to your questions, comments, and DMs
More regular updates across platforms
More gameplay clips, dev insights, and behind-the-scenes content
The rest of us at LAPS GAMES can now focus fully on coding, building systems, and polishing the game!

Thank you for being part of Valorborn!
Hello everyone,
First of all, thank you for your incredible interest in our demo! We’ve received dozens of feedback messages from you, and we’ve already started working on them.
Today, we’ll be answering some of the most common questions you’ve asked!
Why is there no save/load option in the demo? Will it be available in the full game? Yes, future versions of the game will include save/load functionality. We disabled it for the demo because it was designed as a short 1–2 hour experience to give players a sense of the gameplay and its world. The goal was to showcase what Valorborn can become, rather than provide a long campaign experience.
Will Valorborn support co-op or multiplayer in the future? No. Valorborn has always been designed as a single-player experience.
Will there be localization in other languages? Yes! The full version will officially support multiple languages. During Early Access, English will be the main language, but other languages will be available as beta localizations. We’ll also share the localization files (Lockit) publicly, so the community can easily add their own languages to the game.
What is the combat style in Valorborn? Valorborn uses a tactical, stat-based combat system not an action-reflex system. Characters improve through practice and training, and combat focuses on positioning, tactics, and decision-making.
How do characters gain experience? Is it skill-based or class-based leveling? Characters gain experience by performing actions. Chopping wood improves woodcutting, mining improves mining, and so on. On top of that, each character also has an overall level. When it increases, you can manually assign points to four core stats, allowing you to shape your character’s growth however you like.
Do weapons unlock unique abilities or combos over time? Yes. Characters who specialize in certain weapons will unlock new attacks and finishing moves. Hand-to-hand combat can evolve into martial arts, swords unlock new stances, and other weapons have their own mastery paths.
Will magic or wizard classes be in the game? YES- absolutely! Magic will be part of Valorborn. We’re putting a lot of work into making the magic system deep, dynamic, and fun.
Will necromancy or summoning undead be possible? Yes. Alongside the main magic system, there will also be necromancy and summoning elements in the game.
Will there be playable fantasy races besides humans? Not at the start of Early Access. Other playable races are planned for future updates.
Is there a party limit? How many companions can we recruit? There’s no fixed cap. You can recruit as many companions as you can handle and afford to manage.
Is there permadeath? Can characters die permanently? Yes. Characters can die permanently (In the demo, this feature was intentionally disabled).
Will characters be captured or enslaved? Yes. Characters will be knocked out, robbed, kidnapped, or even enslaved by certain hostile factions.
Does the game world evolve without the player? Yes. Faction wars, dynamic world events, and other changes will happen even without your direct involvement.
Can we build our own camp or settlement? Yes. You can build temporary camps and, later, permanent settlements, including large castles. Permanent settlements will be introduced with the first major Early Access update.
Will our settlement be attacked by other factions? Yes. Bandits and rival factions will raid your base, especially if you build it in dangerous or contested areas.
What happens if we build a base on another faction’s land? Depending on the faction, they may demand taxes, enforce their own laws, or even start a conflict with you.
Will there be survival mechanics like hunger and cold? Yes. Characters need food, and environmental effects like heat or cold will impact them based on the biome they’re in.
Is there a quest system or guild halls? Yes. Valorborn features quests and multiple guilds you can join or work with. As you progress within them, you’ll unlock significant rewards.
Can NPCs be automated to gather and build while the player is away? Yes! This was one of the most requested features. You’ll be able to assign automated tasks to your characters — chopping wood, collecting resources, crafting, and more. And even set task queues. This feature was disabled in the demo, but will be fully functional in Early Access.
How big is the game map? Will it expand over time? The map already includes dozens of locations, and we plan to expand it with major content updates every 2–3 months during Early Access.
Will there be rare legendary weapons or armor? Yes. You’ll be able to find or craft powerful legendary gear as you progress through the game.
When will Early Access release? Originally, we aimed for late 2025. However, after the incredible feedback from players and recognizing how much more we want to improve, we’ve decided to delay Early Access to 2026. It’s too early to share an exact date, but 2026 is certain.
How will the team handle updates and feedback? We plan to release major updates every 2–3 months, with smaller patches as needed. Player feedback will play a direct role in shaping development.
We tried to cover as many of your questions as possible, but if you have more, feel free to ask us on the Steam forums or our Discord server.

Hello adventurers,
In this devlog, we will walk you through the different biomes, the natural world, our full day–night cycle, and the wildlife that ties everything together.
Valorborn follows a real-time, 24-hour cycle similar to the one outside your window. That rhythm drives not only the animals but every NPC you meet. (Village life is its topic for a future devlog.) Each part of the day feels distinct, from sunrise sounds to the quiet of midnight.
The world holds several biomes, each with plants, trees, animals, and even creatures found nowhere else. Explore or read any notes you discover to learn their secrets. Gather rare herbs from a misty swamp or track a wolf high in the mountains, then turn those finds into new crafting materials. Combine them in different ways to create the items you need. Every region matters and gives you plenty of reasons to venture off the main road.
Trees are both a resource and a pillar of the ecosystem. Clear-cutting a patch of forest may give you the lumber for a new camp, but it can also wipe out local plants and send wildlife fleeing. Your choices leave a mark on the land.
Animals follow their routines. At dawn, they graze; by night, they sleep or hide. While roaming the woods, you might stumble upon wolves chasing deer in real time, not a scripted cutscene. Even if you never intervene, the world of Valorborn keeps living on its own.
That is all for this devlog. If you have questions, join our Discord or drop a note in the Steam forums. We would love to hear from you.

Thank you for reading, and see you in the next devlog!
