Hello all! Thank you so much for playing Valkyrie Saga. I poured my heart into this game, so I love to see you all caring about my little story.

I have been working on this update for a few months now. It comes with a bunch of fixes, and a bunch of content, and I'm most excited about... the new custom mapping system!

• More collision issues than i can name in a file

• Corrupted save files no longer make the game unplayable (instead i have to nuke them im sorry)

First Content Update!

Thank you to everyone who helped shape this game, all the feedback and inspiration I've received from everyone has been lovely and is driving me to make sure the game is the best it can be fore you all! This is the first content update, but it won't be the last. This past week I've been fixing issues, but I've also slowly been working on a largely requested feature: Multiple Save Slots.

This should allow you to more easily explore and find all the secrets of Paladia, without being forced into dealing with decisions you've made (looking at you evildoers). Abdicating responsibility for your actions ties in to the themes of the game, so that's fine I think.

Major changes:

• Multiple Save Slots

• Enlarged Secrets system, with room for more additions ready

• Windowed mode

• Rocket Jumping nerfed (but not removed)

• Slightly more zoomed out view of triggered objects

• 2 doors in the CCCC (so weird)
• Problem with specific ending for achievement hunters
• Strange pray text in strange areas
• Guarding against missiles no longer sends you into the stratosphere, but still gives a nice big jump in height for some cheesy strategies
• Settings panel had no back button
• End credits were unskippable

• Many issues with the pause menu desyncing when pausing while teleporting. This was happening with restore, teleport tablets, and the forced teleport at the end of the game.
• Reloading in the final chamber sent you to the void, not anymore!
• Various typos fixed
• Orb counting issues fixed for secrets
• Sound effect for darkness spell wasn't playing properly
• Adjusted darkness for less morally righteous actions (introduced a soft cap at 40 indiscretions). Now you should basically always be able to see 10 meters in front of you.

• Graphical issues, particularly water not showing up properly and some other visual glitches when the game has been running for a long time
• Settings not reloading properly when the game relaunches
• Mouse sensitivity issues
• Performance issues on steam deck

• Unobtainable powerups
• Main menu music issues
• Clipping into the boat at the start (this is a hacky fix)
• Pausing or interrupting the animation that plays when you pray at a statue would lock the camera, not anymore
• First Crystal achievement bugged
• Some bugs with steam integration
• Various objects you could clip into around the game have been fixed

This is pretty simple! The game is now live!

I've been working on this game solo for 3 years now, and it represents a big part of my life. Knowing people are playing it fills my heart with joy.

Hi team!! I'm still working hard on the game, and it's coming along nicely. I finished a big performance patch and wanted to update the demo for anyone who enjoys the game!!

There's also a lot of the other stuff I've been working on floating in the distance. Not much more to interact with, but it might be fun to look at and wonder. There's also a more finite ending, so you know the demo is basically done.

Demo Update!!!!

Hello everyone! I've been working extremely hard on the game, and am so excited to release it soon.

With all this extra work, the game looks way more polished than it did when the June demo released! So, in the leadup to final release, I am uploading a new version!

The Content for this demo is hasn't changed since June, but for players who played before that, the game is LEAPS and BOUNDS different!

But it does feature:

• The new soundtrack! By incredibly talented musician Tom Dron

• The final world! You can't access it just yet, but feel free to be titillated beyond your wildest fancies at what lies just over the horizon!

• Improved graphics and graphical settings!

• Updated character movement! She should feel so much smoother.

• A more streamlined player experience

• A few more secrets to find ;;)

• Firstly, the extremely janky enemies have been overhauled to make them actually interesting to engage with! No more snapping to directions, more varied movesets, and a bit more blow for blow. They should feel more like a natural extension of the world.
• Secondly, the spell system has been overhauled! Casting spells in the past was an awful affair, and pretty well useless. If youre in combat, you really dont want to have to put yourself in harms way to do something thats not even that useful. Instead, once spells are unlocked, praying brings up a spell select wheel, and you can cast spells on the fly by tapping! This gives you freedom to cast while running, flying, jumping, weaving in and out, and opens up the space for more exploration and platforming oriented spells too.
• Thirdly, the movement has been smoothed out significantly. In previous versions, there was a lot of hard deceleration, weird spurts of speed, and inconsistent momentum when changing around between Roll's various actions. These should all be a bit more in line, and flow together nicely!
• Finally there have been some more additions to the demo map to make it more appealing to run around. A few extra quests to do, a few more items to collect, easier ways to get back to old areas, a few more indirect routes to make exploration enjoyable.

• The sprint is overhauled!! Tbh my number one complaint from people is the sprint feeling icy and uncontrollable, so now its got a bit more affordance to the whole thing. I still wanted to keep it unruly as a tradeoff for the speed, but now it should at least feel like you are the one in control
• A seperate glide button! Another big complaint was trying to control the camera while gliding, especially on controller. This should add a bit of ease to that situation, and also potentially unlock new tech since activating a glide doesn't consume any crystals.
• New NPC models! The previous ones were placeholder, sorry if you got attached. These guys are super cool though and in line with the theme of the world (every creature will have rings or halos I s2g)
• Added a Guard!! This is to give a bit more counterplay to missiles in air etc, and also works as a momentum stopper, for immediate brakes when dashing or plunging through the air (hopefully it can get you out of some sticky combat and platforming situations)
• Added a camera reset button, middle mouse on keyboard and right stick on controller. Always handy to have

• New Game works properly now! You can reset save files
• Orbs properly save now! You don't have to collect them all at once
• I added a tenth orb, I'm so sorry I had awful cursed game design in there accidentally, there were only 9 orbs !! It was impossible to get them all. Kinda torturous from me ngl sorry
• Camera Sensitivity settings! It's now possible to adjust the camera speed, in case you think my predetermined speeds aren't pristine
• Loading Screen animation! Cuter this time, still needs some cleaning though
• Some minor UI issues like health not updating on game reload properly etc
