Hello Vampires!
There was a localization issue introduced in the last patch that should work correctly now! Sorry for the inconvenience.
The following changes will be applied.
Fixed an issue with many of the translations that were causing some lines to appear in English instead of the set language.
If you're having issues with the game, make sure to take a look at our known bugs and fixes to see if there's a potential solution to get you back into Vardoran as quickly as possible!
IMPORTANT NOTE! Please report any issues you encounter after this patch here. ADDITIONAL REMINDER! Regularly back up your server saves! Here's how to do it. Stay vigilant in the shadows of Vardoran, our fellow Vampires! Eternally yours, /Stunlock Studios
After taking additional feedback, here’s a bit of a repost of the previous patch notes from our previous blog. For the sake of identifying changes between the previous notes and these ones, we’ve bolded the changes. Explanations have been left in for the purpose of context!
The patch should be going live at 12 GMT / 2 PM CEST / 8 AM EDT
IMPORTANT NOTE: This patch WILL NOT cause saves to break or reset.
An awkward little bug has been around for a while, where the dodge roll on the pistol could still take damage from some effects while mid-roll. This inconsistency was pretty frustrating, so we’re happy to finally crush it.
Explosive Shot (Pistol)
Fixed a bug where you could take damage during the roll.
Snapshot (Crossbow)
Fixed a bug where the projectile could go through objects after it splits.
Camouflage (Slashers)
The range of the attack has been reduced from 4 to 3.3 so that it properly matches the VFX.
Fixed a few performance-related bugs server-side.
One of the common issues referenced has been Corrupted Blood in both PvP and PvE contexts. In PvP, the ghosts spawned can become an advantage and are used to trigger free counters. In PvE, they act as a sometimes frustrating downside to using the blood that can add an overwhelming amount of complexity to a portion of the game that can already start to become a little overwhelming.
Our goal with this change to Corrupted Blood is to make it so that they no longer trigger counters. That takes away a significant portion of its PvP advantage, while touching something that is rarely used for such a small amount of value in PvE. Additionally, the dash speed reduction makes them a lot more manageable to dodge in PvE, and that additional touch of making them unable to cause a fatal blow means they’ll never be responsible for an outright death.
Corrupted Blood
The hostile ghost spawned by Corrupted Blood has its dash speed reduced and will now pierce enemies. The damage will no longer trigger counters. Damage from ghosts can no longer cause a fatal blow.
Sanguine Coil can be a bit oppressive in PvP due to the amount of charges and fast projectile speed. We’re going to slightly reduce the speed, but also buff the healing to give it more of a strong identity in line with its original purpose for those who want to play a more supportive role in both PvP and PvE.
Sanguine Coil
Increased Cooldown from 6 to 7 seconds.
Reduce default projectile speed by 20%.
Increase healing on allies from 14-30% to 20-40% (Jewel Effect).
Blood Rite has outshone similar spells, making it often feel like the best option to pick for a counter spell. We’re tuning it down just a bit in hopes it makes other options more appealing.
Blood Rite
Reduce duration and damage on the follow-up attack from 20-40% (5-second duration) to 15-30% (4-second duration) (Jewel Effect)
For Wraith Spear, we feel like its mobility is being exploited a bit too much with cancel casts, so we’re making it a bit more costly to do. Its AoE jewel also felt unattractive, so we wanted to give it a little buff to give more alternatives for good AoE damage.
Wraith Spear
Cooldown gained from canceling the spell has been increased from 50% to 65%.
Reduced the penalty per target from 6-10% to 8-16% (Jewel Effect)
Spectral Guardian is a fantastic defensive ability, but it often gets neglected due to its lower damage compared to other ultimates. We’re adding a little bit more of an offensive advantage to it so that it feels less like a damage loss, and hopefully makes it a bit more attractive of an option.
Spectral Guardian
Now attacks 15% faster.
The recast of Ball Lightning can feel impossible to react to, and it has no visual feedback. Adding a small delay and improving the feedback of the recast will hopefully put this spell in a better position.
Ball Lightning
Added a 0.5-second delay before explosion on recast. (Jewel Effect)
Veil of Storm has been outshone by other veil abilities in many cases. Increasing its speed will make it a more interesting choice and fit the theme of lightning-fat spells.
Veil of Storm
Dash duration reduced from 0.45 seconds to 0.4 seconds.
Corrupted Skull damage feels low, so we’re looking at ways to improve the damage while also keeping its identity a little divergent from other similar spells of other schools. This might do the trick!
Corrupted Skull
Increase the bonus damage done below the threshold from 40% to 50%.
Veil of Bones is yet another underutilized veil ability. We’re hoping to make it a little more appealing while also leaning into its theme.
Veil of Bones
Increase the bonus damage when below the threshold from 20-40% to 30-50% (Jewel Effect)
Freeze Immunity can feel too punishing for players using frost builds against enemies like V Bloods. To make Frost feel a little more effective in PvE, we’re increasing the bonus damage you deal when trying to apply Freeze to immune targets, making it a solid choice even against units with freeze immunity.
Freeze Immunity
Damage bonus for trying to apply freeze on an immune target has been increased from 25% to 30%.
For Mosquito, the player character was the source of the damage, making Mosquito more of a visual representation of an AoE than being an actual “minion”, which many players found unintuitive. This change makes the Mosquito minion the source, making it more in line with other minion-summoning spells.
Mosquito
Damage dealt now scales with bonus minion damage.
No longer leeches health to the player through Spell Leech attribute.
The short distance of the dash, along with the quick duration, made it so that this dash was almost impossible to react to in PvP, so we’re tuning it closer to other veils while also trying to keep its identity, and also lengthening the distance in a way that should prove as an advantage in PvE.
Veil of Chaos
Dash duration changed from 0.3 seconds to 0.4 seconds.
Distance changed from 5 to 5.5.
Wisp Dance activation was way too fast, making it impossible to react against and also comboing in a particularly nasty way with Scholar Blood that wasn’t originally intended. Increasing the cast time will reduce the guaranteed activation damage and help ease back on the guaranteed combo.
Wisp Dance
Increased cast time from 0.15 seconds to 0.4 seconds.
The quick unblockable damage felt a tad too high. We’re moving some part of the damage to the end effect, which can be countered, to make it more rewarding to block while keeping the overall damage the same in all other contexts.
Arctic Storm
Reduced damage per tick by 15% and moved that damage to the final tick.
To make more ultimates a bit more attractive, we decided to lower the duration of Raging Tempest while keeping the damage the same. That means the overall damage per second is increased, and lets you hop back into the fight to keep up the pressure.
Raging Tempest
Reduced duration from 3 seconds to 2.5 seconds while keeping total damage dealt.
Curse has high output variance. Increasing its base duration heightens the base value without increasing the max damage potential into dangerous territory. Curse more reliably than ever!
Curse
Increased base duration by 0.5 seconds.
The Ice Block melts too fast, unfortunately. We’re increasing its shield to reward defensive usage of the ability.
Ice Block
Increased shield from 500% to 550% of your spell power.
It’s our impression that the initial heal from Blood Fountain is a bit too weak, especially in scenarios where the delayed healing is missed. We’re giving it a slight buff to help bolster another tool for those of you who were asking for more support playstyle options.
Blood Fountain
Increased initial heal from 50% to 55% of your spell power.
Cyclone’s bonus damage jewel gave it a bit too much damage output, so we’re lowering it to put it more in line with other damage-increasing jewels.
Cyclone
Bonus damage reduced from 20-40% to 14-30% (Jewel Effect)

Lots of love and a pint of blood,
/The Marketing Team
It’s time for a blood transfusion!
Starting at 19:00 CET on May 14 and ending at 19:00 CET on May 18, V Rising will be free to play!
Never has there been a better time to turn the unconverted to the bloody ecstasy of the Vampire lifestyle. There are yet still many foolish mortals who have not been lured into the dark joys of the hunt for blood, and this is your opportunity to show them the way. During this weekend at absolutely no cost, anyone with Steam can download V Rising and indulge in all the horrors and delights Vardoran has to offer.
Though it’s only for a limited time, the Free Weekend also coincides with historic V Rising sales. From May 14th through May 21st, V Rising will also be on sale for 55% off, and all DLCs will also be available at 20% off. In addition to all of that, the V Rising Complete Edition Bundle is also an additional 20% off, allowing the most clever of Vampires to layer promotion upon promotion and maximize their savings.
In addition to the news of the free weekend, we’ve got the promised balance patch coming to V Rising based on your feedback. We’re a little cautious about introducing a patch right before a free weekend due to the risk of instability during an influx of players. For that reason, we’re going to be patching next week. We’re taking this opportunity to turn this event into a further advantage. Below, you’ll find we decided to share the patch notes ahead of time, as well as instructions on how to download the patch early to provide advanced feedback.
Please keep in mind that these patch notes will not go live until next week. Also, be aware that this patch will NOT require a save wipe.
Based on your feedback, for the most part, we’re in a pretty enjoyable state in terms of there being some choices for builds and the gameplay itself being pretty solid, but there’s still some frustration with a lack of variety in PvP that could use some love. PvE feedback, on the other hand, has generally been more positive across the board.
Overall, our conclusion is that while there’s definitely room for improvement, we also want to be careful not to disrupt what's already working well. The goal of this patch is to improve variety in both PvP and PvE while making a conscious effort to focus on the more extreme issues. We’re looking to primarily improve underperforming spells and options to encourage more variety overall. This can be a bit of a difficult balancing act, because there are some spells that are far more delicate to change than others!
An awkward little bug has been around for a while, where the dodge roll on the pistol could still take damage from some effects while mid-roll. This inconsistency was pretty frustrating, so we’re happy to finally crush it.
Explosive Shot (Pistol)

Want to get your hands on the patch early? Even… right now? We’ve made it available on a test branch for you to hop on and try it out! It should have no adverse effects on your current world saves, so nothing stops you from loading it up on anything you like. Be aware that while you’re in this test branch, you won’t be able to play on servers that are not updated to the same patch.
To access the test branch, right-click on V Rising in your Steam Library and click on Properties. Then, in the pop-up window, select Game Versions & Betas from the left-hand tabs, then, in the options that appear on the right, select the Public Test.
After that, simply update your game, and you’re good to go! To go back to the default version of V Rising, you just have to select Default Public Version. It’s as easy as that.
This weekend promises to be filled with delightful bloodshed, new faces, and excitement. Invite all of your friends for the coming days of dark wonder, and perhaps they’ll even stick around a bit longer, becoming permanent Vampires themselves.
Don’t forget to follow all of our socials down below, Vampires, including following Stunlock Studios on Steam! As we release news on our next game, it’s going to be one more excellent source of news on the future of V Rising.

Greetings Vampires!
Here in the Stunlock Studios crypts, we’ve been carefully gathering your feedback and wishes for an upcoming balance and bug-fix patch. There’s been a tremendous volume, about three times as much as our last feedback form, and it’s given us a lot to think about. We’re going to talk about that a bit more soon in a more in-depth post!
In the meantime, we thought this would be a great opportunity to turn your attention towards some community-run servers and projects. Each of these is a long-standing project run by passionate and dedicated Vampires. They’ve put serious effort into creating their own communities and exemplary creative works that carve out unique niches within V Rising.
If you’re looking for a trusted place to spend your time and link up with like-minded Vampires for a unique experience, whether it’s your first or tenth play-through, check out these amazing communities!
First up is a bit of an anomaly in the list. Though the other communities we’re promoting are in-game servers, this is a bit of a meta pull. The V Rising Mod Community is a Discord dedicated to collaborative efforts of mod developers.
From V Rising Mods: “The V Rising Modding Community takes things apart (usually on purpose) to see what we can get away with in ways that are occasionally clever, occasionally dangerous, and frequently both. It's a matter of poking at the underlying logic, comparing notes, and seeing if it can be talked into doing something it wasn't originally designed for (provided you ask it very quickly and in exactly the right order).
Hundreds of mods on Thunderstore, with more than half updated for the current game version.
Shared frameworks and open source mods for compatibility, learning, and security.
Both public and private modders are asking questions and sharing ideas.
Want somewhere to play? There are plenty of options out there. Want to know how it works or make it do it differently? This is where you want to be: https://www.vrisingmods.com/”
You can join their Discord at the link below!
Next up is an EU server that aims for an experience similar to the base V Rising gameplay, but pushing to enhance it a bit more to their taste. Maybe it’s fitting for yours as well?
From Paradise Rising:
“Paradise Rising is an EU V Rising server built around a curated, beginner-friendly PvE/PvP experience with a casual but challenging feel. We use a Soft-Brutal setup with light QoL mods and enhanced boss encounters, keeping the gameplay close to vanilla while adding enough spice to make progression feel rewarding.
Our focus is on a stable, welcoming, community-first environment for both new and returning players who want to enjoy V Rising without the usual high-pressure sweat. Active moderation, a relaxed atmosphere, and regular wipes every 3 weeks to help keep the experience fresh and consistent.”
For more information on how to join up, you can find them under Paradise in the server list in-game! Be sure to join their Discord for the full experience.
Describing themselves as a “Slice of Life V Rising Server”, this one’s for the roleplayers! Keep in mind, this is a slice of a Vampire’s life, so it might be a little more dangerous than you expect. They’ve also put quite a bit of effort into a custom-built mod to enhance the V Rising RP experience!
From Nexus RP:
“We offer 7 races other than vampire; each one of them has perks and weaknesses on its own, which makes collaborative roleplaying even more fun.
Our "Aura Pool" with +70 visual effects helps players visualize their stories. All shapeshift forms have abilities. Castle Siege & PVP enabled 7/24 within the boundaries of roleplay, and PVP intent is secured thanks to our mod again. Players are also able to access a tile palette to decorate their castles with objects that are not in the build menu.
Races are faction-based to provide a slice of life factor (e.g., playing as a Werewolf, the werewolves and Willfred + normal wolves won't attack you // Human players won't be attacked by human mobs.)
You can hide your identity, leave notes at castle doors, avoid friendly-fire even when PVP is enabled, have high-stakes RP, explore new areas, foes, and dungeons, participate in challenging events to get stronger, and secure your path to the crown brick by brick.”
They have a website you can check out here with more helpful information on their setting and rules. To get involved, join the Discord linked below!
A CIS region-based Duo PvP server. They’re currently running on a 3-week wipe period, with a website tied to their server that distributes items for free to Vampires who utilize the various minigames baked into it! They even implemented a special “tower” mode where you can fight off waves of mobs to earn rewards.
From Sunrise PvP:
You can join their website here! Make sure to join after you’ve made a character on the server; the name has to match.

Server 1:
\ Soul PvE 3x / No Wipes / Long-term / Fresh Start 28/04/2025 - Our classic long-term brutal server (fresh start April 28 2025). Slightly modded with heavy QoL focus: 3x gather, clan size 10, max castle hearts/floors, teleport while carrying items (even in bat form), reduced durability/blood drain, slightly boosted HP, plentiful soul shards, and frequent blood moons. A heavily modded US PvP server that aims for fun, games, and atmosphere! From Blood Bath & Beyond:
“Blood Bath & Beyond is a community-driven V Rising server built for players who want a deeper, more atmospheric experience in the world of Vardoran. Blood Bath & Beyond offers a carefully tuned environment with custom features & mods that extend well beyond vanilla. Have many custom sign-up and open-world events like CTF, Payload, Duel tournaments, & even take on high-level World Bosses & much more! I have also implemented Make-Shift Cave systems for the already-in-place cave-traveling system. Players can traverse across Vardoran through these caves, which are custom-themed based on biome and have biome-specific resource nodes!
At the heart of the server is a full companion website (bloodbathbeyond.us) built from the ground up to give players tools they actually use. It's not a static landing page - it's a living hub that connects directly to the game server.
Live Killfeed - See who's been drawing blood in real time. Every PvP encounter gets logged and displayed so the community can keep up with the action even when they're offline.
Build Planner - Plan your builds & gear loadouts for our custom events! No matter your gear level, you are able to build/import a build and use that as an event default without worrying about ruining your progression.
Commands Reference - A clean, searchable list of every server command available to players, so nobody has to dig through Discord pins to remember syntax.
Player Profiles - Individual pages where players can see their stats, history, and presence on the server, pulled live.”

Castle Esoterica is an RP-PvP-focused US server! Though they are currently on break, they’ll be returning on May 15th for a brand new campaign. They have a rather extensive history with their own lore and developed game world with its own unique story mechanics, so if that’s your kind of thing, this is a great place to indulge your Vampire fantasy.
From Castle Esoterica:
“Castle Esoterica RP-PvP is a V Rising Roleplay PvP server with a unique twist: similar to a tabletop game of Vampire: The Masquerade, the players themselves create vampire characters and personas to accompany the gameplay of V Rising, with the goal of creating a fictional social fabric within the game world. Whether diplomat, merchant, soldier, gardener, or ruler - every vampire eventually finds their place in this world - and by extension, what they excel at in V Rising's gameplay variety.
In addition to creating their own unique characters, players host events, form clans, ideals and factions, trade, build marvels of architecture, backstab, duel, even wage war and assert political dominance in Vardoran - all with player agency and storytelling at the forefront. Every player decides how they contribute to the overall story in their own way, on their own terms.
Castle Esoterica also operates on a single-instance storytelling model, meaning each campaign has a definitive beginning, middle and end. This offers an immersive experience for anyone who's a fan of vampire roleplay, social intrigue, power politics, and collaborative storytelling.”
The full campaign handbook can be read from the link in the Discord below!
This long-running RP-PvP server runs on a seasonal basis, doing high-effort story arcs that promote player agency! They’re currently on break but will be returning later in July to kick things off again in a big way!
From Shadows of Vardoran:
“Shadows of Vardoran is an RP-PVP server, focused on telling an overarching storyline and bringing players' stories to life. We manage this through a variety of different methods. Between admin commands, event volunteers, and our own suite of custom mods that allow us to have fully controllable additions like races, custom spells, and even custom weapons.
Whether you are a faction leader, a werewolf, a bandit, or anything in between. SoV aims to create a space where your actions take meaningful shape and tell a story for you and the community.
We are currently on break, and will be starting up again in late July!”

Hengoria is an active PvP server in the EU region!
From Hengoria:
“Welcome to Hengoria — a private EU V Rising server for Solo & Duo players. We've been running since August 2025, starting out as a squad server before growing into the community we are today.
Hengoria is built around competitive PvP that actually feels fair. Solo players get an attribute buff to hold their ground against duos, a bounty system rewards kill streaks, and plots are fortified to make raiding and defense both meaningful. Progression is protected too — level-gated zones and gradual wipe unlocks mean new players have real room to grow before running into veterans.
Beyond the fights, there's a full in-game economy centered around our Merchant Town, where almost anything can be bought with currency earned just by playing. Blood sacrifices, prisoner trading, and daily login rewards keep the economy moving. We run regular events — open-world horse hunts, auctions with items you won't find anywhere else, custom V Blood boss spawns, and trivia nights — so there's always something pulling the community together.
We listen closely to our players and constantly develop new QoL mods to keep each wipe feeling fresh. Kindness is something we genuinely care about here — this is a welcoming community where new players can improve, and veterans can thrive.”
They’re modest, but it’s a wonderful community that’s absolutely worth your time and attention! See for yourself and join their Discord down below!
Our community of Vampires harnesses its creativity in endlessly exciting fashions, so if you’re looking for a new twist on the Vampire experience, the opportunity is at your fingertips. Each of these featured servers is run by passionate, hard-working players, so do us a favor and treat them with the utmost respect due to any venerable elder creature of the night when you visit. We may be monsters, but we have standards.
Meanwhile, we’re taking a bit of time from our current workings to look back upon V Rising. As we mentioned earlier, we’ve been looking over the feedback and have been making headway on finding some changes that will improve the experience for all players. We’ll go into more details on that shortly!
Until then, there’s an awful lot of sunlight out there, Vampires. Take the utmost care, and don’t forget to use those spare dark hours to indulge the thrill of the hunt.
See you again soon.

Lots of love and a pint of blood,
/The Marketing Team
It’s been a while since we last checked in, a bit longer than usual. First and foremost, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your patience and faith in us.
The V Rising community, while certainly having its faults (like draining the blood of the living to sustain its unholy existence, participating in dark magic rituals, and eating uncooked rats), has always been a bastion of earnest excitement united around the things we all love. We are all monsters for our passions.
Today, we’d like to share a bit of what we’ve been crafting and offer some clarity on the direction of Stunlock Studios and V Rising. We can’t reveal much just yet, but we don’t think even creatures of the night enjoy being left completely in the dark.
So with that in mind, let’s talk a little about what we’ve been up to in the Stunlock Studios crypts these past months.
Pour yourself a glass of blood and get comfortable, Vampires! It’s that time again.
As foretold in Dev Update #31: Midnight Reflections, we’ve already unfolded all of our initial plans for V Rising. Since then, we delved into darkness to search the shadows for new and unexplored paths. In the end, we’ve come to the conclusion that V Rising, in its current form, is something we’re proud of, and the journey to Dracula is a complete one as it stands.
As you, a clever Vampire, might guess, this statement will undoubtedly raise some questions that we’ll try to clarify. For one, we are not currently developing a new content update for V Rising. This also means there should be no requirement to start a new save anytime soon, as is normally required with major content updates.
We intend to continue supporting the game with balance and bug-fixing patches whenever we feel it’s necessary. To help find those moments, we’ll be holding regular polls to take the temperature of the game’s state based on your feedback. For bug fixes, we’ll be focusing on patching when a major or particularly impactful issue appears. When we do, we can usually fit in a few smaller fixes at the same time as well!
Alongside this upkeep, working deep into the winter nights fixing dangerous bugs as they rear their ugly heads, and keeping tabs on the state of the game balance, we also spent some time investigating what more official modding support could look like. After digging into it, we came to the conclusion that the game simply isn’t structured in a way that would allow us to provide mod tools at the standard we’d want for the community. The time spent exploring it wasn’t wasted, however, and what we learned will prove valuable for our future schemes and our new focus.
This might have you, that ever-clever Vampire, asking… focus on what, if not a V Rising update? What is going on in the crypt?
Put plainly, Stunlock Studios is working on a new game set in the beautiful, strange, and gothic world of V Rising. This will be our most ambitious project yet in our 15-year history of making games, and we can’t wait to begin this journey with you. The hunt for blood is about to evolve.
V Rising is an achievement built on years of work and decisions, a castle raised brick by brick, forming the foundation we stand on today. While the core workings of V Rising are strong and have allowed us to construct a wonderful bastion of dark Vampire delights, that foundation can also be limiting. Decisions made to lay those bricks in a certain way often make sense at the time, but they aren’t always perfect for ideas that emerge later.
We’ve been experimenting in ways we haven’t been able to for a very long time, exploring fresh ideas unbound by our previous limitations. With the foundation of knowledge we built alongside you, we’re able to craft a bolder vision for the future of our Vampire world. Right now, we’re set about creating the architecture that can support our new and wild ambitions, and one we think will be able to support yours as well.
Our next game will invite you to explore your darkest whims in a world of greater depth, danger, and mystery than ever before. The odyssey of the Vampire continues in an experience that feels both familiar and strikingly new. We take on this challenge with great respect for what it demands as we set out to build something extraordinary, and when the time comes, your feedback, as always, will help guide us as we refine and improve.
We’re very early in development, so you’ll have to give us some space to brew. Just know that our first priority is to make this new game work great, and while there may be changes along the way, our blackened hearts are aligned with yours. Though things may grow quiet for a time, we’ll emerge from the shadows now and then to share how things are progressing.
Included in those regular check-ins will be regular community polls and round-ups to promote active community servers, as we mentioned earlier. You can find the first of those polls here!
Please give us your feedback in the form linked above!
With that done, it’s time for us to descend into darkness once again to continue our work. Though we will be returning soon to discuss the results of the feedback poll.
What sort of dreams do you have of another V Rising game? Let us know, and for future updates on what we’re working on, please follow our socials linked below!

Hello Vampires!
We’re doing a handful of bug fixes for more concerning issues we’ve found. These fixes are all server-based, so they’ll come into effect whenever the server you’re playing on updates. If you’re hosting a server, please update as soon as possible!
The following changes will be applied.
Fixed an issue where players could sometimes jump into unintended areas.
Added additional logic to prevent Vampires from being able to bypass closed doors.
Cast a terrible curse upon Dracula’s blood, preventing it from maintaining its form outside of the Shadow Realm.
If you're having issues with the game, make sure to take a look at our known bugs and fixes to see if there's a potential solution to get you back into Vardoran as quickly as possible! We're always grateful for your help in translating the game at https://crowdin.com/project/v-rising-game IMPORTANT NOTE! Please report any issues you encounter after this patch here. ADDITIONAL REMINDER! Regularly back up your server saves! Here's how to do it. Stay vigilant in the shadows of Vardoran, our fellow Vampires! Eternally yours, /Stunlock Studios
Jade the Vampire Hunter has taken the explosive leap from patrolling the dirt roads of Dunley Farmlands into real life! Or maybe she’s been stealthed next to us all along, waiting for her chance to strike? Regardless, we know she’s here now, and now nothing will stop her from getting close enough to give you a warm, welcoming hug, and definitely nothing else.
Be among the first to get your hands on the Jade the Vampire Hunter Plushie by pre-ordering…
Jade the Vampire Hunter comes with everything she needs to befriend you, her new treasured Vampire companion!
Stakes
Garlic
Two flintlock handguns
An unshakeable hatred born of a lifetime of misery.
Pictured: Her loving gaze that is not inspecting your vital weak points, but instead other things that are not threatening.
Ain’t she cute?
We know many of you have likely had dangerous run-ins with her in the past, but Jade has asked me to assure you that she has COMPLETELY changed, and only wants to make up with her old Vampire enemies. She’s a high-quality creature of cloth and comfort now, not at all a sinister Vampire Hunter laying yet another of a long string of complex, deadly traps meant to slay her ancient and reviled enemy.
Pictured: Me willingly writing this entirely of my own volition.
Now’s your chance to get in on the limited run of the Jade Plushie while you can!
Our decision to do Jade for our plushie was based on overwhelming feedback from you during our announcement of Tristan, so your feedback means a lot to us! If you’ve got another character you wish we did, or have anything at all you want to say to us, we’re watching and listening. Let us know what you think!

Greetings Vampires!
Many of you have followed us on the journey from Early Access launch, through Gloomrot, to the release of Dracula and 1.0, all the way to the poisonous boughs of Oakveil. Over the years of development, we’ve put time, effort, love, and both your and our ideas together to create something we hope is as satisfying for you to play as it ultimately was for us to create.
So we call out to you, well over 6 million creatures of the night, asking for your support. If you ever felt an ounce of the affection we put into bringing you the bloodsucking experience of a lifetime, we humbly ask you to give us your vote for Labor of Love.
Eternally Yours,
Stunlock Studios
What a magnificent year it’s been for the art competition! A swarming flock of entries blessed our castle halls here at the Stunlock Studios crypts, filling our eyes and hearts with beauty and terror befitting of the immense talent of our kindred kind. This competition had the most entries of any art contest we’ve held to date, and the competition was as fierce as ever! Let it never be said that the Vampires of Vardoran take their artwork any less seriously than they take their bloody hunts.
For this contest, the Stunlock Jury consists of Johan Wahlbäck (Art Director), Johan Aronson (Senior Concept Artist), Viktor Blomqvist (Senior Concept Artist), Johan Ilves (Marketing Director), and Jeremy Fielding (Community Manager). After input from marketing and art, we’ve come together to pick these ten exemplary artists and their submissions.
In light of the incredible level of entries this year, we’ve included far more special mentions than any year before. It was extremely difficult to narrow our selection down as is, so even if you weren’t featured today, please know that your work was seen and appreciated by all of us here at the studio.
Those Special Mentioned that are featured here today will be sent an Eternal Dominance Pack DLC to be used as they see fit.

These pieces displayed an outstanding and diverse range of representations of Vampires, exemplifying the many different ways players imagine themselves and their fellow bloodsuckers in our setting. Major factors in judging were execution, composition, concept, and how easily we could picture these existing in the world of Vardoran.
These next seven finalists exemplify all of these ideas, and the expression of their imagination shines through in their works in a manner we could not help but take note of. In no particular order of ranking, these are our seven finalists!

The next two pieces are our Runner-Ups! We hope each of them will take good care of their crypt-mandated Tristan Plushie.
By Orhan Yavuz Erhan
This piece was 3D modeled and concepted in a way we could easily picture as an NPC merchant or V Blood, but clearly has a flair and perspective indicative of the artist! Tosun the Blood Merchant strikes a balance between dark, grotesque, and humorous, not often seen in the Vampire fantasy. With his network of blood bags and the legs hanging out of his coffin carrying bag, this piece was wonderfully creative, charming, and incredibly well done!
By Tamim Sarah
The style and pose of this piece combine to create an evocative character. Framed in elegance, magic, and delightfully scraggly avian critters, this is a Vampire that we would very much like to get to know. Though we highly suspect that if we were to try, we’d end the evening with those long fingers wrapped around our throats. This piece is both beautifully excessive and yet artfully restrained. A truly impressive piece, so full of emotion.
Each year, the decision to declare the Grand Winner is a significant one. It often requires lengthy deliberation among the judges, leading to intense and heated discussions. This year, we received one entry that absolutely blew us away in its effort and execution. With more entries than ever and a level of competition that has only increased, our Grand Winner drew us in like a dark enchantment.
The Grand Winner of the V Rising Original Vampire Art Contest, my courtiers.
By Pierre "Aldeid" BRESZYNSKI
The Wolfensohn Backstory is an animated 3D puppet show that tells the story of a trio of benevolent Vampires, their little wooden doll visages recounting the tragic tale of three sisters who defied their undead nature, and for their efforts, met a grisly end. Or did they? (Bum bum bum.) The nature of the Vampire is one of duality, and though your journey through V Rising can be a savage and brutal one, many don’t see themselves that way! Who truly can fault them if they want to befriend a tasty snack or two? I don’t get it, but to each their own.
Perhaps on their next return, our sisters will have wised up a bit.
This entry had everything! A story, beautiful colors and compositions, a unique style, and a strong and confident show of talent that we could not help but reward with our Grand Winner place in this year’s competition! The staggering difficulty of this task cannot be understated, and we are well beyond impressed. Undoubtedly, our Pierre has 100% Artist Blood running through his veins, and I, for one, hope he shares.
What an incredible competition it’s been! Thank you all for your breathtaking entries and the lovely tales that accompanied them. We read every single one. These artworks that represent, to us, the way our own art has touched each of you are a reflection that we find both invigorating and humbling.
For us, Vardoran is a world of horror, yet also one of beauty and wonder. In your artwork, we saw the full spectrum of the V Rising Vampire experience. Clans gathered together. Cruel amusements. Violence. Gardening. Mourning. Peace. Tortured, thoughtful moments. Longing. In these Vampires, we see a world of emotions, and we also see ourselves.
So thank you for a window into your soul, Vampires. We promise not to do anything untoward with it.
For now!

Ah, the familiar scent of terror.
It’s that time of year, Vampires! Autumn is upon us, and with it the season of fear and trickery. For us creatures of the night, the looming cold and darkness is like a warm embrace. So, as ever before, we at Stunlock Studios are prepared to celebrate it with you. We return with a new creative contest to offer you an opportunity to flex your talents!
The V Rising community has always shown incredible artistic flair, ever since our very first art contest just after our Early Access release. Since then, every year we’ve held a new competition, and each year you have all delighted us!
This year, the theme is Your Original Vampire! One very common theme we’ve seen over the years is artists who are inspired by their own journey through Vardoran, and show off their vision for their character, their castle, clans, and even their servants! There’s no limit on where you set your Vampire and who they’re with, and if the inclusion of your throne, garden, or surrounding supporting characters elevates your character, feel free to include them! The most important part, however, is that the central focus of the piece is about the character, personality, and portrayal of your own unique Vampire character.
Inspiration! Original Vampire Concept from one of our Senior Concept Artists, Viktor Blomqvist.
The full rules for submissions can be found here:
Your submitted work should contain at least one Vampire character from the V Rising setting, with a theme centered around your original Vampire. Communication and execution of this theme will be a primary factor in judging submissions.
The image dimensions can be a maximum of 2000x2000 pixels.
You can illustrate everything by hand, use digital processes, photography and cosplay, photography and video, craftsmanship, 3D modeling, or any other creative endeavors we might not have anticipated! As long as it was handmade by you, all mediums are welcome!
Submitted art should be created by you, and only you. Please submit evidence of your process in the form of a layered original image file or a video time-lapse of your process to verify authenticity.
Let’s agree that 15 MB is the max size of the final product provided for images. This size limit does not apply to the evidence of authenticity, but please try to be reasonable in your sizes for those as well.
Videos should be no longer than 120 seconds and must be linked as YouTube videos. Alternatively, videos can be sent in their entirety in a QuickTime, .mov, or MP4 file format to the contest email.
You can portray blood and violence (of course), but please avoid nudity and sexual violence.
You can submit up to three entries, but we highly suggest creating one fantastic entry.
Sharpen your fangs and pencils! You have until 11:59 PM GMT on Thursday, November 6th, to send in your entry to
. Please include your full name (optional) and a social media or art station URL so we can credit you for your work. By submitting artwork to us, you will permit us to share it second-hand.
The Grand Winner will receive:

Hello Vampires!
Down below, you’ll find some details on our current plans for a V Rising balance patch. Now that the 1.1 update has had a good amount of time to settle, we thought now might be a good opportunity to make some adjustments to improve the game overall for our most battle-hungry, restless nightkin.
After gathering feedback from the community, as well as with the accumulated feedback on our suggestion and bug report boards, we’ve dedicated some time to testing what we could do to best address the current concerns. These changes will have their limits, as we don’t want this patch to require a save wipe to play. Still, we’re looking to help reduce frustrations but also make steps to make other abilities and play styles more fun in PvP and PvE alike.
With that said…
These changes are not yet set in stone, and there may be balance adjustments or painful bugs we may have missed. We’d like to get your feedback on them! We still have a little time to adjust them, and we’d love to hear from you to see if there’s anything we sorely missed, or anything you’d still like to see improved. At the bottom of the patch notes, you’ll find a feedback form where we’ll be looking forward to your opinions.
Here we go, Vampires.
Players can no longer equip/swap passives while having the PvP buff active.
Combining the Storm charged weapon effect gained from jewel effects on Lightning Curtain or Cyclone together with the static consume effect into stun on Veil of Storms no longer instantly stuns a target that was not affected by Static prior to getting hit.
Combining the Arctic charged weapon effect gained from the jewel effect on Cold Snap, together with the chill consume effect into freeze on Veil of Frost, no longer instantly freezes a target that was not affected by Chill prior to getting hit.
Combining the Veil of Illusion shield jewel effect together with Illusion Coating no longer grants a shield unless the target is already affected by weaken when striking the enemy.
Fixed a bug where the Frost Bat area damage jewel would override the damage of the Chillweave passive effect (increasing it up to 60% with maximum jewel tier).
Fixed an issue where Tendon Swing could trigger the FX incorrectly even when the attack was interrupted.
Fixed an issue where the displayed Blood Quality could mismatch in different sections of the UI.

Greetings Vampires!
It's recently been found by Unity that there is a vulnerability as old as 2017 that could potentially be exploited in games made with Unity. We've already patched the issue on clients and are currently working to patch it on the server client as well.
We highly recommend patching your game and dedicated server client as soon as it's available, as well as being very cautious about any mods you download until you verify they're secure.
Be safe out there and take care.

Hello Vampires!
We’ve emerged from our crypt to carve out a couple of bugs, wrap them up, and bring them back inside for our nefarious dark magic rituals. Please do not ask me about the dark rituals, you really don’t want to know.
The following changes will be applied.
Added a confirmation request to the “Kill Prisoner” option in prison cells.
Fixed an issue where units spawned through objects like Spider Cave cocoons could sometimes disappear after being imprisoned.
Fixed Unholy VFX on the enemy “Skewering Leap” ability.
Fixed an issue where queuing up irradiant gruel in a prison cell could remain in que even if the unit mutated, causing the next inserted prisoner to instantly get fed irradiant gruel.
A few areas that did not properly animate or remain interactable while in the pause menu should now be working properly.
Fixed an issue where Dracula could sometimes get stuck in a phase 1 to 2 transition during very specific scenarios involving server restarts. He may still get stuck this way, but it will be temporary, and should sort itself out within a few hours.
Destroying a floor under a disabled item should no longer cause it to remain suspended in the air. I curse your items with gravity.
Under rare circumstances, a weapon could receive two coatings. This should no longer be possible.
Inflicted horses with a fear of chaos and illusion damage from weapon coatings, which they were previously indifferent to.
Players can no longer teleport while affected by the Golem buff.
Added support for sorting blood potions, as well as adjusted the bag sorting on several item types.
Fixed a bug where one Expose Vein animation made the Vampires intersect oddly.
Fixed an issue where dead Vampire Steeds could block dismantling elevated floors.
Fixed some issues with camera collision.
Added protections to prevent certain calculation errors from occurring, which should prevent some crashes related to daggers and horses.
Fixed a Night Maiden animation bug.
Fixed some visible gaps in doorways with wallpapers.
Added collision to prevent clumsy Vampires from falling into holes and getting stuck, which was just embarrassing for everyone.
Fix for the “wash basin” which was not fading properly when obscuring the camera.
We changed the way the game remembers Emotes and Shapeshift positions, which should help solve an issue where player Emote and Shapeshift choices would get reset between games.
Fixed an issue where you could get dagger stacks when not having a dagger equipped, which would stay permanently.
Fixed an issue where some small sun rays could sneak their way into the vineyard boss arena.
Fixed an issue where Arena Health Orbs could remain as indestructible objects after a castle is destroyed.
Fixed an issue where arenas and duels could become invisible when too many were taking place in one area. Removed the restriction that you can only see arena areas while in the same territory.
Fixed some typos! Always.
Rejoice, Vampires. Dark Silver Longbow is now written the same as the other Dark Silver weapons.
