Questions before you buy? Check the FAQ here -> https://steamcommunity.com/app/2508150/discussions/0/728028631117396575/ As a single player Hacking RPG, Hackers at Large is a very different genre from the social deduction gameplay of the original untrusted: even so, I hope you'll try the demo at the very least even if it's not your cup of tea: hopefully you will like this game too! I'd like to express my thanks, again, to everyone who supported the development of "Untrusted" and "Untrusted: Hackers at large" in any way over the past years. A special mention to AceMan who made the amazing in-game original soundtrack and another special mention to Rogo & Biancalisa, authors of the ending sequence song. Make sure to visit their websites, where you can listen to the OST or purchase it directly from them. You can find AceMan's and RoGo/Biancalisa's bio and links in the dedicated web page: https://www.hackersatlarge.com/ost/ or you can wishlist the Steam OST here (But again, consider supporting them directly first!):
To celebrate this milestone (and the 5th anniversary of the original Untrusted release!) you can add it for free to your library for the next 72 hours from now: get it now while it's free and tell all your friends!
Greetings, operatives!
"Untrusted: Hackers at Large" will release on January 29th, 2026!
Of course, both Windows and Linux are supported and will release at the same time.
More news to come - in the meantime, enjoy the latest trailer: make sure to share it with your friends!
Greetings, operatives!
The development of "Untrusted: Hackers at Large" goes on, lets dive in with what's new!
New Steam Page!
Lets start with something not very exciting: but there is a newer and prettier steam page! Please let me know if your localized version needs some tweaking!
New teaser trailer
The teaser trailer has been updated to showcase the latest changes in UI and especially art, since what I had shared previously was mostly with placeholders. The art assets are finally locked in and hackers at finally has a proper, coherent art style. You can take the usual sneak peek in the updated teaser trailer below.
New demo
Likewise, and admittedly, more exciting, I've finally updated the demo! You can try the latest build right now on Steam! If you've played it previously, there isn't unfortunately any new game content for you to explore - it's still the same chapters, although it benefits from the many UI improvements that I talked about in the previous update. If you're curious to see how the game has improved overtime, you can! If you were waiting for a newer version to see if the game is for you, now's a great time!
Onwards with the development!
If you've played the older demo version, you'll notice that many aspects of the UI have been simplified. This also applies to the game itself: during development I had discovered that many game mechanics I had in mind, were just not as fun as I thought. For example, you might recall that nations had a very complicated UI to keep track of the relationship status each nation had with other nations: my initial idea would be that such stats would be used to influence a certain chance of having your operative extradited (or not), but not only it was a mess to keep track, it was just complex, burdensome and ultimately, not fun. During these past months I've streamlined and tested all levels, and what wasn't fun was either scrapped, or reworked significantly. The core game is still about hacking and managing your crew of course, but trimming the fat was something that was needed. The release of "Untrusted: Hackers at Large" is scheduled for Q1 or Q2 2026 - make sure to share this teaser trailer (yes, you're right, I need to make a longer one!) with your friends and make sure to wishlist it! That's it for this devlog!

Greetings, operatives!
Development of "Untrusted: Hackers at Large" is going well and it is likely that the release date will be Q1 or Q2 2026. Wohoo! We have a - tentative - date!
So, without spoilers, how are things going? Lets take a brief look at what's been cooking.
Campaign and game content
The game internal build is, more or less, playable from start to finish. All chapters have been written, although content is still being worked on regularly (balancing, new quests, etc) and while it is not final - not at all - it feels good to have most of the building blocks in place.
Assets (comics from the very talented Gustavo are still coming in, so are the Icons from Sketch studio, as well as other additional UI components), but most of them have been completed.
Likewise, the OST is almost completed (and I'm in awe of the musicians who have made this original sound track). If "Untrusted: Hackers at Large" is even half as good as its OST, I'll be happy!
On track with the development, I'm planning to start an internal test to further check that the game is fun, while still providing a good challenge! A busy autumn is coming!
User experience improvements
The feedback from the steam demo (and the updated version shown at NG25) has been invaluable.
The most requested feature? Disabling the CRT effect :( (which is now an in-game option)
However, many more UI improvements have been implemented. Visual cues, interaction improvements (e.g. click a word to copy to clipboard,), improved user interfaces (eg. with a button to automatically fill the login screen) etc. are too many to list, but many of these came directly from you: thank you!
Some are subtle, some are more "in your face" but I'm sure more people will find the user experience a lot better. I can't really get away with a development update without at least a teaser screenshot, so here's one, albeit it doesn't really show much, does it? :)
Localization
Localization still hasn't been completed, in fact, it's the less complete part. This unfortunately requires the game content (quest, events, dialogue) to be completed first. Which is why the Steam demo hasn't been updated in ages: the NG25 demo in fact, was English only. Localization is indeed still planned though!
New Demo on Steam: when?
Tentatively, the updated demo on Steam will be up before the end of 2025, depending on when the localization is completed. Make sure to join the discord to be notified!
Untrusted @ Nordic Game conference!
As mentioned above, in May I had the pleasure to introduce the world of Untrusted to a new audience, at the Nordic Game conference 2025 in Malmö, Sweden.
Lots of new faces had the chance to try the latest demo build, which provided me with a lot of extremely useful feedback (with the added bonus of also getting few new players for the original Untrusted :) )
Here's a photo of the untrusted booth!
Why this short update? You haven't shown anything!
I tried to do some video devlogs during the development (you can find them here if you haven't seen them and you're curious: Devlog 0, Devlog 1, Devlog 2) but I'm really slow (and not very good) at making them. Given the - little - time I have, I'm concentrating on making the actual game.
As much as I'd loved to make another devlog video, that would have set me back by another month at the very least, I'm really gaining speed in development, and I want Hackers at Large to be as polished as I can for release.
I'll try to make more of these short development logs here to at least keep you more in the loop!
That's it for this devlog!
