Friends, hello everyone!
After the release of «Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes», we received many messages from players asking us to "expand the game" or add a "New Game+" mode. It's clear that our next game on the topic of the Special Military Operation is just around the corner, but that's a different story. Many of you wanted to be able to continue playing «Gostomel Heroes» with your own army. We heard you, thought it over, and decided to do even better!
Cats Who Play presents the free DLC: «Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes – Battle Unfinished»:
After completing the campaign in the original game, you will be able to "transfer" your army to the new «Battles» mode and continue the combat journey with the units you've already grown accustomed to!
Fight on the 6 maps already known from the original game, and also try two new maps created specifically for this mode: the urban-type settlement of Gostomel (area of the Pokrovsky residential complex) and the city of Bucha (area around the intersection of Yablonevaya and Vokzalnaya streets up to the Giraffe shopping mall).
«Battles» are not tied to historical events and have no storyline – pure distilled tactics!
After missions, take your favorite units into the "reserve", upgrade them, award them, equip them, and use them in subsequent battles!
Replay missions to get the maximum reward (Supply Resources). Difficulty levels will differ not only in the number and quality of enemies, but also in gameplay mechanics. For example, on «Realistic» difficulty there will be no endless reinforcements, and you will have to fight only with the units that are in your «reserve».
There will be no «saving» during Battle missions, but at any moment you can evacuate all your troops and finish the mission. At the same time, your evacuated troops will retain the experience they've gained, trophy weapons, and upgrade points.
The release of the DLC «Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes – Battle Unfinished» is planned for the 3rd quarter of 2026.
The DLC will be FREE, but of course it will require the original game «Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes» installed on your computer.
Trading cards and everything associated with them have been added to the game: badges, emoticons, backgrounds.
Moreover, animated avatars and an animated background inspired by the game are now available in the Steam items store.
In addition, a number of improvements have been introduced to the game, aimed both at enhancing performance and at eliminating minor bugs and adjusting balance:
Optimized shader compilation and validation.
Implemented landscape texture streaming (Virtual Textures) to optimize rendering.
Changed the vertical synchronization mechanism in the game; as a result, the vertical sync on/off setting has been returned to the video settings.
Added display of waypoints (via SHIFT).
Added display of passenger capacity to vehicle descriptions. Added display of squad size for squads.
Fixed the "Evacuation" button behavior when a squad is in the process of moving into a building.

Reduced the visibility of the Air observer squad.
Increased reverse speed for most vehicles.
Increased ammunition capacity for the AGS on the Kozak and L200.
Reduced morale regeneration rate for civilians.
Fixed armor values for the BTR‑3E with slat armor.
Fixed a bug where machine gunners in hatches would disappear instantly upon death without animation.
Implemented a weapon switching lock while stunned to fix situations where, for example, RPG gunners under fire would switch from their RPG to an assault rifle instead of attacking the target.
Fixed a bug where squads assaulting buildings would exchange fire inside the building using heavy weapons.
Fixed the achievement "All My People Are Home" (now losses in the player's squads and vehicles are allowed, but no squad must be completely wiped out).
Fixed a bug that caused some 3D unit barks (including those of allies and enemies) not to play.
Added two new tutorial screens.
Removed the "burning to explode" functionality for the BRDM-2 (it had it by mistake).
Added a mechanism that causes defeat on the second mission (Vorzel) if the player has no forces or reinforcement call-in points left.
Added auto-saves on the 5th mission.
Fixed a rare bug where units that came under the player's control could independently run to points on the map (e.g., after the day change on the first mission).
Fixed a bug where the dialogue volume slider had no effect on dialogue volume.
Fixed a rare bug that caused an unexpected defeat on the 6th mission (Dmytrovka) at the very end.
Fixed a bug where the 2S9 "Nona" had tank crews instead of artillery crews.
Minor animation fixes.
Minor UI fixes.
Text fixes for tutorial screens for English and Chinese languages.
Fixed the condition for unlocking the "Iron Man" achievement.
Fixed the condition for unlocking the "You Can't Hide!" achievement (destroying the roaming mortar. on mission 4).
Added autosaves for mission 4.
Version 1.1.508.1
Fixed a bug where, on the first launch, call signs, first names, and last names for squads were taken from the English localization regardless of the selected language.
Fixed rare causes of crashes. In particular, a crash that occurred when departing on a mission if passengers remained in the transport.
Added new tutorial screens for artillery and drones (you can find all tutorial screens in the Tutorials section in the in-game menu, which can be opened by pressing ESC during a mission).
Minor localization fixes.
Friends!
We wanted to let you know that we've decided to postpone the game's release from March 24 to March 31.
The main reason is that we want to avoid overlapping with the Spring Sale on Steam.
However, on March 24, we are planning to release a demo version of the game. It will include the complete first mission, with the ability to transition to the inter-mission management screen.
After purchasing the full game (which will be available on March 31), you'll be able to seamlessly continue your story campaign — your save files from the demo version will carry over automatically.
Add the game to your Wishlist!
Information Update:
The release of the demo version has been delayed due to organizational reasons. We will try to provide access as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.
