Hello everyone,
We’d like to share an update regarding the release date for the Tadami Line.
Ahead of the original release this week, our teams reviewed initial feedback sent from early testers of the Add-on and identified areas of performance lower than we had expected.
Good performance is a key critical area that can impact your enjoyment with new content, and we’d like to ensure TSW’s first visit to Japan is reflected of the peaceful and smooth ride it’s designed to be. This is why we’ve made the decision to give the Tadami Line additional development time needed to achieve the best experience it can be for launch.
We know you’ve all been waiting very long for this adventure, and we’ll be back in the coming weeks to share more news once we have further confirmation of an updated release date. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
A new country, a new railway and a completely new kind of journey are coming to Train Sim World 6.
Travel to rural Japan for the first time in Train Sim World with Tadami Line: Aizu-Wakamatsu - Tadami, developed by Union Workshop.
Wind through the valleys and mountains of Fukushima Prefecture, discover picturesque Japanese towns and take control of the classic KiHa 40 across one of the most scenic railways in the country.
The Tadami Line marks the first-ever Japanese route in Train Sim World and the franchise’s first journey into Asia.
Stretching for 88 km between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Tadami, this rural single-track railway takes passengers away from the bustle of the city and into the heart of Oku Aizu.
Dense forests, mountain valleys and traditional architecture surround the railway as it follows the winding Tadami River. Along the way, cross iconic bridges, pass the region’s dam and call at 28 detailed stations nestled among towns and villages.
Every corner offers another view to take in, whether you are driving, riding as a passenger or exploring the route on foot.
Tadami Line marks Union Workshop’s first route for Train Sim World, following several successful years creating content for Train Simulator Classic.
The studio brings its experience and passion for Asian railways to a new generation of simulation, delivering an ambitious debut that introduces Japan to Train Sim World for the first time.
At the heart of the route is the classic KiHa 40 diesel railcar, a characterful train that became a familiar sight on rural railways across Japan.
Available in three distinctive liveries, including JNR Orange, Niigata White and Blue, and Tohoku White and Green, the KiHa 40 can operate individually or in multiple formations to meet the demands of the timetable.
Its narrow-gauge design introduces a completely new driving experience to Train Sim World. Learn authentic Japanese railway operations, respond to new signalling and master the ATS safety system as you take on local passenger services through the mountains.
An accessible tutorial and Route Introduction will help drivers become familiar with the train, its controls and this new style of railway operation.
Experience the changing face of the Tadami Line across a range of seasons and conditions.
Travel beneath spring cherry blossoms as they bring colour to towns and stations, journey through verdant summer forests or climb into a landscape of snow-covered mountains and frozen valleys.
Five scenarios explore different sections and seasons across the route, offering new views, conditions and challenges with every journey.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing drive or simply want to watch the countryside pass by, the Tadami Line provides a slower and more tranquil experience where the beauty of nature takes centre stage.
The Tadami Line dates back to 1928, when the first section opened between Aizu-Wakamatsu and Aizu-Yanaizu as part of the Aizu Railway.
Over the following decades, the railway gradually followed the Tadami River deeper into the mountains, reaching Aizu-Kawaguchi in 1956 and Tadami in 1963.
In Train Sim World 6, the route is set before the devastating rainfall of 2011, which damaged the railway and suspended services beyond Aizu-Kawaguchi for more than a decade. This setting allows players to experience the complete railway from Aizu-Wakamatsu to Tadami.
The authentic timetable recreates the day-to-day rhythm of the Tadami Line, with services divided into manageable sections to make the full journey easier to experience at your own pace.
Take on passenger duties, complete scenarios or step away from the cab and explore detailed stations, scenic towns and landmarks throughout the region.
Free Roam also allows you to create your own journeys, while Livery Designer, Formation Designer and Scenario Planner provide even more ways to experience the route and trains.

Developed by Incredible Trains, this unique route brings together three separate branch lines, each offering its own distinct scenery, stations and style of operation. Take control of the Class 165 Turbo Networker and explore the Henley, Marlow and Windsor branches across the picturesque Thames Valley!
Each line branches away from the Great Western Main Line and offers something different for drivers to master.
The Windsor Branch provides frequent back-and-forth services between Slough and Windsor & Eton Central, taking passengers within walking distance of Windsor Castle.
On the Marlow Branch, depart Maidenhead and perform the unusual turnback procedure at Bourne End before continuing towards Marlow. Drivers can also interact with the railway token system, a first for Train Sim World.
The Henley Branch connects with the Great Western Main Line at Twyford, passing through Wargrave and Shiplake before reaching Henley-on-Thames. Enjoy a relaxing countryside journey along a line known for transporting visitors to the famous Henley Royal Regatta.
All three branches cross the River Thames at various points, with detailed riverside scenery, animated river traffic, reactive wildlife and seasonal environmental changes bringing the region to life.
Use Fast Travel to move between each branch, or Route Hop via the Great Western Main Line if you own Great Western Express.
Included with Thames Valley Branches is the 2-car Class 165 Turbo Networker, featuring its own distinctive interior and external details.
Compared with the Class 166 from Great Western Express, the Class 165 benefits from newer Train Sim World features, including enhanced physics, improved night lighting, additional cab functionality and support for Livery Designer.
Whether you are operating frequent shuttle services, mastering the Marlow turnback or enjoying a more relaxed run through the countryside, the Class 165 is ready for duty.

Originally announced in our May Roadmap, Incredible Trains have been busy on this unique new route featuring three independent and unconnected branch lines.
Wishlist Thames Valley Branches Now!
Thames Valley Branches is unique, with its three separate branch lines, namely the Henley Branch, Marlow Branch and Windsor Branch, all diverging from the Great Western Mainline. While all branches run through the scenic Thames Valley, they each offer their own distinct character and operating style.
The Windsor Branch departs from Slough and shuttles passengers to Windsor & Eton Central, just a short walk from the iconic Windsor Castle. With frequent turnarounds, this branch offers a fast-paced, back-and-forth commuter experience.
The Marlow Branch, branching from Maidenhead, introduces one of the most operationally unique experiences in Train Sim World. Drivers will perform a turnback manoeuvre at Bourne End before continuing to Marlow, while also interacting with the line's railway token system, a first for Train Sim World.
Finally, the Henley Branch leaves the Great Western Main Line at Twyford, providing a scenic run through Wargrave and Shiplake before arriving at Henley-on-Thames, famous for hosting the annual Royal Regatta. While operationally the simplest of the three routes, it completes the Thames Valley network and offers a relaxing drive through beautiful countryside.
All three branches cross the River Thames at various points, showcasing the picturesque landscapes the region is known for. Their shorter length has also allowed Incredible Trains to focus on an exceptional level of environmental detail, bringing stations, riverside scenery and surrounding countryside to life.
Using Fast Travel, players will be able to seamlessly move between each branch. Owners of Great Western Express can route hop, allowing travel between branch lines via the Great Western Main Line network.
Also included is the Class 165 Turbo Networker (2-car), which features a unique interior and subtle external differences compared to the Class 166 from Great Western Express. It also benefits from a range of newer TSW features that were not available on the Class 166, including Livery Designer support, enhanced physics simulation, additional cab functionality, and improved night lighting.
As first outlined in the July Roadmap, work has continued on performance optimisation, new environmental features, and further improvements to the route and rolling stock.
A major focus has been on extensive performance profiling and optimisation, including the development of a powerful new profiling dashboard that benefits both Thames Valley Branches and future projects. Alongside this, the route has received a range of immersive enhancements, including seasonal crop changes, reactive wildlife, authentic British roadside details, and animated river traffic.
The Class 165 has also undergone significant refinements with more realistic systems and cab improvements, while ongoing scenery work and enhanced autumn foliage continue to raise the overall visual quality of the route.

IT: "A significant amount of time over the past weeks has gone into performance profiling across the entire route. My aim has been to make sure there are no performance concerns and that the route remains as smooth as possible, even in the busiest areas."
"As part of this work I have developed an extensive performance profiling dashboard which gives me much deeper insight into how the route performs under different conditions. While this has taken a considerable amount of development time, it is an investment that will benefit not only Thames Valley Branches but also future projects, allowing me to identify and resolve performance issues much earlier during development."
"Alongside the optimisation work I have continued polishing the route and introducing a number of new features that help bring the world to life."
"Fields will now change their crops depending on the season, creating a landscape that evolves throughout the year. Wildlife has also received some attention, with birds now reacting to approaching trains by scattering as you get closer. Across the route you will also notice authentic British telegraph poles, helping to reinforce the distinctive character of the Thames Valley."
"Road traffic has also become more authentic with the addition of British ambulance and police vehicles, while rivers are no longer static thanks to animated boat traffic moving through the scenery."
"The Class 165 has seen extensive improvements. The cab has been refined with working train faults, functional fuses, improved night lighting, more accurate simulation systems and a revised interior layout based on reference material. These changes make the driving experience feel both more authentic and more immersive. Finally, scenery work has continued across the route with a great deal of additional detail added throughout. Autumn has also received special attention, with a much richer variety of foliage colours to create a more vibrant and realistic seasonal experience."
AABS: "Last month's Roadmap focused on the gameplay opportunities the Freightliner Class 70 will bring, from the new Midland Main Line timetable to additional freight services across the West Coast Main Line. This month, we're taking a look inside the locomotive itself."
"The Class 70 has become one of the most technically ambitious locomotives we've developed. Built by GE Transportation in the United States but designed specifically for the UK network, recreating its blend of American engineering and British railway systems has been a unique challenge for the team."
"Our goal has been simple, if you can interact with it in the real locomotive, you can interact with it in Train Sim World."
"From the moment you enter the cab, virtually every switch, button, rotary selector and lever has been brought to life. Lighting controls, cab fans, fuse panels, circuit breakers, operational display screens, external fuel connections and countless other systems all function exactly as they should, creating a locomotive that rewards players who enjoy learning every aspect of modern traction."
"Even starting the locomotive is an experience in itself. Rather than pressing a single button, you'll carry out the correct start-up sequence, bringing each system online before you're ready to move."
"It's this level of functionality that has made the Class 70 one of our biggest technical projects to date. The team are now closing in on completion, with the focus shifting towards refinement and polishing every last detail."
"Combined with the new Midland Main Line timetable and additional freight layers across the West Coast Main Line, the Class 70 won't just add a new locomotive to your collection, it brings a whole new way to experience modern freight operations."
Take a listen and peek at the Freightliner Class 70 in action:
We know you've been waiting for this, but we can confirm - Tadami Line is finally on the horizon, arriving into Train Sim World ahead of our Dovetail Direct on August 25th
We'll be using this last Roadmap update as a chance to share a snapshot of our updates over the last few months, and get you ready for the journey.
And if you're looking for more, at the end of last year we also shared a work-in-progress gameplay showcase of the route in action!
Get ready for your ticket into Japan in Train Sim World, with more news on the Tadami Line, including new screenshots and the launch trailer headed your way in the coming weeks!
IT: "Development of the Richmond extension continues to make excellent progress. One feature that I can now confirm is aimed at owners of the Euston to Milton Keynes route. The included Class 350 will receive a licensed South West Trains livery, allowing it to represent the Class 450 on AI services around Richmond. This will add another welcome layer of authenticity to the route."
"The Richmond extension has also benefited from the extensive optimisation work carried out recently. Using the new performance profiling dashboard I have been able to free up enough performance headroom to introduce a feature that many of you have requested for quite some time."
"In cab CCTV screens are now being implemented. This is an expensive feature from a performance perspective and on my own system enabling the screens reduces performance by around 5 to 10 FPS while they are active. For that reason the feature can be enabled or disabled through the Expert Mode settings, allowing players to choose the experience that best suits their hardware."
"Finally, the animated river traffic developed for Thames Valley Branches will also make its way to the Richmond extension, helping to bring the River Thames to life and adding even more movement to the surrounding environment."
As a nod to other projects in-development, we haven't got any updates to share this month for the below add-ons, but they are still progressing with their respective teams, and we'll aim to share more information when we have further updates!

Cargo Line is heading to mainland Europe for the very first time!
Cargo Line Vol. 6: Gas is heading to Train Sim World 6, bringing hazardous freight operations to Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn: Mannheim - Kaiserslautern. Developed by Skyhook Games, this latest entry in the Cargo Line series introduces authentic Zags 110m³ gas tankers, expanding the variety of freight traffic across one of Germany's busiest regional railways.
Whether you're hauling fully loaded tankers to keep industry moving or returning empty wagons for their next assignment, it's time to put your freight skills to the test.
As with previous Cargo Line releases, the new Zags tanker wagons aren't limited to one locomotive.
With Free Roam and Formation Designer, pick your poison of any locomotive in your collection, and challenge yourself by hauling heavy trains across European rails.
For the full experience, we recommend owning Train Sim World 6: Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn: Mannheim - Kaiserslautern, available separately.

The new Zags tanker wagon is available in both clean and weathered variants, complete with authentic VTG branding and realistic handling.
Cargo Line Vol. 6 doesn't stop with six brand-new scenarios. The pack also expands the day-to-day freight experience with 18 additional timetable services, giving you even more opportunities to haul hazardous gas traffic across the route.
The fun continues beyond the timetable too. Take the new Zags Gas Tankers into Free Roam, Formation Designer, Scenario Planner and Livery Designer to create your own freight operations. The GP60s are stubborn survivors. By the 2010s, the M units had settled into Southern California working intermodal runs, manifest freights, and local duties around Los Angeles and San Diego with Kaiser Yard, west of San Bernardino on the old Pasadena Subdivision, becoming their stronghold.
The cabless GP60B has faced a slower road, with gradual retirements thinning the fleet in recent years. This add-on covers both the GP60M in BNSF's H2 and H4 schemes, the H4 featuring its "Dash 3" rebuilt control stand, and the GP60B in the classic, understated H1 livery.
Train Sim World® 6: BNSF GP60M & GP60B is out now for $16.99 / £12.99 / €15.99.
Please Note: For the full experience, we recommend you own Train Sim World 6: Cajon Pass and San Bernardino Line which are available as separate purchases.

A brand-new, authentic timetable for Cajon Pass
During our testing processes with our team, we wanted to thank our beta testers and ambassadors who helped provided valuable feedback with their experience on our Early Access builds. One thing they noted to our teams, which we would like to help clarify for anyone using the GP60M, is the process to reset the alerter.

The more eagle-eyed of the TSW community will have spotted the Crewe - Preston coming soon article that appeared here towards the end of last week. Do check it out if you missed it because it contains a whole wealth of solid information on what you can expect from this amazing route. Looking for more? You can also check out Just Trains' in-depth development blog here, complete with a pdf copy of the manual! More info than you can shake a stick at!
It's 1986. David Bowie can transform into an owl, Tom Cruise is feeling the need for speed, and Mick Dundee is showing off his big knife. Over in Britain meanwhile, the West Coast Main Line between Crewe and Preston is humming with energy. This is one of Britain's hardest working stretches of railway, a corridor where freight and express passenger workings never stay still for long.
Train Sim World® 6: West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston is out now for £29.99/€35.99/$39.99.
Please note that West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston will be released on PC and 9th Gen Console platforms only.
Want to learn more about the making of West Coast Main Line: Crewe – Preston?
Train Sim World Ambassador TINTIN_57 sits down with Tom from Just Trains to discuss the route's development, the research behind recreating the 1986 West Coast Main Line, and some of the challenges and stories from bringing this classic railway to Train Sim World.
It's the perfect companion piece for anyone looking to go behind the scenes and learn more about the route's creation.
We are aware of an issue affecting several Rail Journey chapters where players may spawn on foot rather than in the intended train cab.
Fixes for these issues are being investigated and we will share further updates when available.
If you missed seeing the route in action, you can check out the developer previous stream hosted by Just Trains' Tom and Mark right here:

Step up and serve Californian industry with the “Super Fleet” in Train Sim World 6, brought to life by High Iron Simulations - Coming soon!
The striking GP60M and its cabless counterpart, the GP60B, arrive in potent pumpkin schemes for authentic mainline and local duty over iconic BNSF trackage in this latest TSW6 Add-on.
Add BNSF GP60M & GP60B to your Steam Wishlist
At the start of the 1990s, the Santa Fe Railway, then led by its innovative president Mike Haverty, branded its high-priority intermodal services as the “Super Fleet” and reintroduced the railroad’s legendary red and silver “warbonnet” livery. For use on the Super Fleet in 1990-1991 the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF) acquired 63 custom-design 3,800-horsepower GP60M cab units equipped with North American cabs.
With the coming of the 21st century, the GP60M diesels could still be frequently found in intermodal service but were also increasingly used on manifest freights, and even handled local duties. Beginning around 2010, these stylish diesels were most often found in Southern California, including the Los Angeles area and San Diego. Kaiser Yard, located on the ex-AT&SF Pasadena Subdivision west of San Bernardino (and included on the TSW San Bernardino route), became a key bastion of GP60M assignments.
This Add-on features the GP60M dressed in BNSF’s H2 and H4 schemes, with the latter featuring its “Dash 3” rebuilt control stand.
Alongside the acquisition of 63 GP60M for the Super Fleet in the 90s, AT&SF also purchased 23 cabless B units: the GP60B.
While sharing the same engine and power output specifications as its GP60M counterpart, the GP60B is a cabless B-unit, helping reduce purchase and maintenance costs.
This Add-on features the GP60B decked out in BNSF’s classic and subdued H1 livery.
Please Note: For the full experience, we recommend you own Train Sim World 6: Cajon Pass and San Bernardino Line which are available as separate purchases.

Get ready to transport yourself back to the bustling 1980s railway scene with Just Trains' latest add-on for Train Sim World 6 - West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston. Coming 18th June!
Following on from West Coast Main Line: Preston - Carlisle and Blackpool Branches: Preston - Blackpool & Ormskirk add-ons, Just Trains' West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston promises to be another cracker. With period accurate 1980s signage and stations and the option to drive both the electric and non-electrified you can sink your teeth into a route that is well over 60 miles in length!
Just Trains also have a in-depth development update on their own website that you can find here as well as a rather cool timelapse video showing off the timetable included in the route! You can check that out here:
Set in 1986, the Crewe-Preston add-on covers one of the UK's busiest rail corridors. Starting at Crewe, furnished with yards, depots, carriage sidings, and the famous Crewe Works, the road heads north through Warrington and Wigan to Preston. Beyond the main line, dedicated freight branches serve Haaydock Park, Fiddler's Ferry power station, Bickershaw Colliery, and Deepdale, each adding some truly amazing and distinct operations variety.
The route is jam picked to the gills with period-accurate detail: four-track running on key sections, busy TMDs at Crewe and Wigan Springs Branch, freight loops and marshalling yards throughout, and a timetable full of light engine movement, MGR coal trains, Speedlink freight, and high-speed expresses. Cool points of interest include Dutton Viaduct, the Acton Grange girder bridge spanning the Manchester Ship Canal, and Crewe's 1985 remodelled station allowed trains to exit at up to 60 mph!
Born out of the mid-1960s drive to electrify Britain's most important main line, the Class 86 was no prototype experiment. BREL built a hundred of them, making it British Rail's first serious commitment to electric traction at scale. For decades these machines were the backbone of the West Coast Main Line, hauling everything from crack expresses to heavy freight beneath the wires.
If one locomotive defined the diesel age on British railways, it's the Class 47. Brush Traction's Falcon Works and Crewe turned out 512 of the things, enough to make it the most numerous main line diesel Britain ever saw. Versatile, dependable, and seemingly indestructible, the "Brush Type 4" has hauled passenger expresses, freight, and parcels trains for over six decades, and a stubborn number refuse to die, still turning up on the main line, heritage railways, and even reborn as Class 57s from 1998 onwards.
Stubby, purposeful, and unlike anything else on the network, the Class 20 has always looked like it meant business. With its cab perched at one end and its nose riding heavy, it cut an immediately recognisable silhouette from the earliest days of dieselisation. It was never the biggest or the fastest, but it proved phenomenally tough, outlasting countless more modern designs and still appearing on the main line and heritage railways today, decades beyond any reasonable expectation.
The Class 08 shunter was the unsung workhorse of the BR network for generations. Introduced in 1952 as the standard-issue yard dog, they pottered around goods yards, station sidings, and depots the length and breadth of the country. The decline of traditional shunting has thinned their numbers on the national network, but the Class 08 refuses to vanish entirely, still earning its keep in industrial sidings and on heritage lines.

Train Sim World 6: West Coast Main Line Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe is out now for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for £32.99/€39.99/$44.99.
Please note that WCML Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe will be released on PC and 9th Gen Console platforms only.
Both the Dovetail team and the All Aboard Team are working through some existing known issues that we wanted to outline below, to help reduce the chance you encounter these issues. These will be present with the release version, and we will be working to address these in future patches for the add-on.
Both the Full and Reduced Timetables are available on all platforms. While we recommend adjusting your game settings and layer options to achieve the best possible performance, these two timetable options provide an additional way to tailor the experience to your system.
The Full Timetable represents a complete operational day across the entire route. It includes services on the main line, branch lines and flyovers, creating a busy and authentic railway environment. Players will encounter extensive main line traffic, AI services at major railway hubs such as Rugby, Nuneaton, Tamworth, Stafford and Crewe, as well as freight services, empty coaching stock movements and a variety of special workings.
The Reduced Timetable has been carefully optimised from the Full Timetable to improve performance while retaining the vast majority of player drivable services. The number of drivable services is reduced from 470 to around 400, with the majority of removed services being freight workings, special movements and empty stock transfers around Crewe.
The biggest difference comes from the reduction of AI only services. Most of the optimisation work has focused on reducing non drivable traffic at major junctions, interchanges and crossover locations. This does not mean Trent Valley feels empty. The majority of main line traffic remains in place, with only a small number of services removed, including the non stop Avanti West Coast Glasgow services and some Birmingham services between Milton Keynes and Crewe.
Another important change is the use of a single Class 350 variant throughout the timetable. The Reduced Timetable exclusively uses the Class 350/4, which significantly improves performance by reducing the number of different train textures and assets that need to be loaded into the game.
Whichever timetable you choose, you will still experience a busy and engaging railway with a wide range of passenger services across the route.
We hope you have a great experience with the route, if you need any player support, you can request this from our teams on our support website.
If you missed seeing the route in action, you can revisit both the RFTV Team and guests from All Aboard Studios for the Preview of WCML: Milton Keynes - Crewe, over on YouTube and Twitch.
WCML: Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe is an Add-on for Train Sim World 6. If you've not yet upgraded, you can still do so in a number of ways.
Upgrading via Train Sim World 6: Deluxe Edition will not only give you access to three brand new routes: Riviera Line, Morristown Line and Leipzig-Dresden, but also the CrossCountry Class 220 Voyager, which layers into playable services for WCML: Trent Valley.

Watch our West Coast Main Line Trent Valley preview livestream, joined by the All Aboard Studios team, and learn more about the new add-on below:
Speed was built into the Trent Valley line since its inception back in September 1847. It opened to provide a more direct route from London to the North West of England, completely bypassing Birmingham. It initially ran with limited local passenger and goods trains in the October before opening to all through traffic by early December of that year.
As part of the British Rail modernisation plan, the Trent Valley line was electrified in the 1960s which allowed for high-speed trains to grace the line with their presence. Following further modernisation works in the 2000s, this allowed for the likes of the Pendolino to go full-beans; reaching speeds of up to 125mph.

The Trent Valley line is by far and away the longest point-to-point UK route to appear in a Train Sim World game to date - a whopping 108 miles stretching from Milton Keynes to Crewe. Throw the Evero into the mix and you've got a recipe for an hour-long sprint, tilting and weaving as you go.
Train Sim World 6: West Coast Main Line Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe will release 9th June for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for £32.99 / €39.99 / $44.99.
AABS: "All Aboard! It’s time for our first detailed deep dive into the BR Class 70 Freightliner Loco, and it’s a PowerHaul of a deep dive into what will release with the Add-on!"
"Built by General Electric Transportation and introduced from 2009, the Class 70 brings modern freight muscle to the game. Delivered in Freightliner’s striking PowerHaul livery, this locomotive stands out on the network with its bold, high impact design and unmistakable presence. With 3,700 horsepower on tap and built for heavy haul duties across intermodal and aggregate flows, it’s a machine designed to perform and it feels every bit as strong from the driver’s seat. From long intermodal consists to heavy engineering trains, the Class 70 is built to keep things moving under pressure."
"Paired with the Class 70 locomotive are the Wascosa MLA wagons, adding a whole new layer to freight gameplay. Designed for ballast, aggregate and engineering materials, these wagons take you beyond standard runs and into the world of real railway operations from day to day workings to complex possession moves. Whether you’re delivering materials into a worksite or clearing spoil from engineering works, the MLA wagons bring a more hands on, operational feel to freight."
"This is all about variety across multiple timetables, with over 100 driveable services available on release. You’ll get stuck into 41 of these services on WCML Trent Valley operating a variety of Intermodal, JNA & MLA wagon runs, with even more across London Euston to Milton Keynes and Birmingham to Crewe (Evero Timetables Only). There’s also additional gameplay on the upcoming Thames Valley branch from Incredible Trains, with the Class 70 also set to substitute into the Mildmay line upon the extension release, giving the Class 70 a strong presence across multiple routes (Find out more on these two add-ons further on in the Roadmap)."
"However, the gameplays major highlight is a brand new timetable for Skyhook Games’s excellent Midland Mainline route, Derby, Nottingham to Leicester. Expect more freight, more traffic, and more to do, with added services and extra layers including the Class 220 Voyager and Class 170 to bring the route to life. A further 20 plus Class 70 services are driveable on this brand new timetable."
"You’ll also take on 8 engaging scenarios, including engineering works at Derby where precision shunting, tight movements and busy possessions put your skills to the test. Add in triple header runs and night time operations, along with aggregate loading at Mountsorrel, whether it's in timetable mode or the scenarios there’s plenty to master."
"Powerful, versatile and packed with gameplay, the Class 70 and MLA Wagon is set to deliver one of the most varied freight experiences yet and we’ll have more to show very soon."
Just Trains share their final development update for Crewe Preston as we build towards release, diving into of the timetable and sharing a full timelapse video!
JT: "From high speed intercity express services between Euston and Glasgow to the mundane 45mph loaded MGR workings, you will find it all in our Crewe-Preston timetable. From Crewe, where you'll see comings and goings from the various depots and yards broken up by regular stopping expresses, whilst non-stop trains roar through the station at high speed. The hustle and bustle of this Railway Centre is well captured with all 6 approaches having their own unique services, not only do you see the services from the WCML but you will also see other loco hauled services should you own the required stock. Behind Crewe station you will regularly see and hear Freightliner trains as they scuttle beneath the West Coast Main Line via the Independent Line tunnels. If you're really lucky you might even see a Class 47/3 clambering up the bank to head the Freightliner service to Holyhead!"
"Fancy a bit of lighthearted train spotting?! Away from the stations such as Crewe we have provided a number of extra spawn points aimed solely at train spotting, including Winwick Junction, Golborne and Weaver Junction, from each of these vantage points you'll be able to sit and while away the time as the West Coast Main Line of 1986/7 unfolds before your eyes, if only the smells of hot oil and exhaust could accompany such sights!"
"Fancy something totally different ? We've got you covered! Try some of the more wacky workings, we've got the early morning Class 08 fuel swap from Preston Ladywell Sidings to Wigan Springs Branch for anyone wanting to drive a "Gronk" on the West Coast Main line for a prolonged distance! A full track bash railtour is also included with the timetable for those who own Preston to Carlisle and Crewe to Preston, this working lasts around 12 hours and visits each of the branch lines and terminals, of which there are many!"
"Enjoy this timelapse footage showing the timetable that is included with the Crewe - Preston route. This fully featured timetable sees us recreate the West Coast Main Line and its surrounding branches as they appeared during the 1986-1987 Working Timetables and Trip Notices."
We'll share more information soon, and for those looking for details on the entire development process so far on the Just Trains West Coast Main Line: Crewe - Preston Blog!
And those of you who love diving into the specific and history, Just Trains have also shared a full WCML: Crewe-Preston Route Manual you can view online!
We're getting very close to the release of High Iron Simulation's next release, and bringing you all brand-new US freight power across the Cajon Pass, San Bernardino and Sherman Hill routes.
HIS: "The BNSF GP60M will be included “as built” and with “-3 rebuild” controls. And it will be joined in the pack by its cabless sister, the GP60B, and modern articulated “spine” intermodal car. The services timetable features over sixty end-to-end mainline runs, and cement train services operate between San Bernadino, Victorville, Oro Grande, and Barstow. The Barstow switching layer from the Cajon Pass timetable is included."
"Union Pacific services are recreated as a layer for owners of the Sherman Hill route. These include eight end-to-end runs via trackage rights over the BNSF and eight shorter runs on the UP’s Palmdale Cutoff."
"Along with this robust services timetable, the pack will feature four scenarios on the Cajon Pass route and four bonus scenarios on the San Berdandino route. Together, the scenarios deliver experiences ranging from hustling priority intermodal traffic across Cajon Pass to challenging industry switching duties on the San Bernardino route."
With its BNSF GP60M Loco pack nearing release, the HIS team is still hard at work on completion of its first TSW route – the Southern Pacific Ore Lines – which will recreate the Southern Pacific’s Hayden Branch in Arizona.
Let's give a full recap of what you can expect with this route for US Freight fans, alongside the latest information and new development screenshots:
Legendary for its heavy-haul and tough railroading amid dramatic Western desert scenery, Southern Pacific’s Hayden Branch linked the sprawling open-pit copper mine at Ray, Arizona, to copper smelter and mill facilities at Hayden, Arizona. The ~20 tortuous route miles between Ray and Hayden served as a 24/7, always bustling artery over which the railroad lugged millions of tons of copper ore from mine to mill, and, in return, hauled finished copper metals outbound. The Hayden Branch connected at Ray Junction with the remainder of the Southern Pacific system via SP’s Tucson Division.
The TSW route will be set circa 1980 as a Southern Pacific line (today, the railroad is the regional Copper Basin Railway). Among the features of the upcoming route will be:
The route wending its way along the Gila River and through Western “cactus country” of the Sonoran Desert from Ray via Ray Junction to Hayden. The route climbs over grades of up to 2 percent with track speeds to 30 miles per hour.
Authentic re-creation of the sprawling open-pit copper mine and adjoining servicing facilities at Ray, Arizona.
Detailed re-creations of the mill, smelter, yard, and unloading facilities at Hayden.
The route will include a wealth of authentic new equipment including:
Southern Pacific’s Electro-Motive GP35 diesel road-switcher and Southern Pacific C30-4 bay-window steel caboose.
Distinctive and interactive Magor-built ore-hauling gondola, 43-foot acid tank car (sulphuric acid being a byproduct of copper smelting), and Southern Pacific 56-foot anode flat car (for outbound ore ingots).
Bringing the Hayden Branch – and its remarkable operating challenges – to life will be an extensive range of timetabled services and scenario-based gameplay, including:
Several round trips of loaded 6,000-ton copper-ore train movements from Ray mine to the Hayden unloader and empty trains making the reverse run to the mine.
One round trip of the “Unit train” delivering sulphuric acid from the smelter to the mine and returning with empty tank cars and copper ore concentrate loads.
Complex loading and unloading duties at Ray and Hayden.
Hours of switching and transfer movements around the sprawling Hayden smelter.
Mainline transfer runs from Hayden to Ray Junction, including assembling and breaking up the mainline train at Hayden Yard.
Interchange operations with the neighboring San Manuel Arizona railroad.
The upcoming Southern Pacific Ore Lines promises to deliver a diverse and challenging heavy-haul, round-the-clock railroading experience!
We announced Thames Valley Branches from Incredible Trains during the May 2026 Roadmap which covered some basic information on the branches and the stations across the route. Today, we're thrilled to have even more information from Incredible Trains, but this time it's for the Thames Valley Branches! Johannes has an in-depth update on the route's development, so let's jump right in.
Johannes: "As development on the Thames Valley Branches continues, I wanted to highlight some of the features and technologies that are helping make this one of the most immersive projects I have worked on for Train Sim World. From the very beginning, the focus of this project has been authenticity, atmosphere, and detail."
"A major design decision was to develop the Windsor, Henley, and Marlow branches as three independent, self-contained lines. Because the services on these branches naturally operate independently, connecting them through the Great Western Main Line would not have significantly expanded gameplay possibilities and would instead have recreated gameplay already available on Great Western Express."
By separating the branches, I was able to dedicate far more of the available performance budget towards scenery density, environmental detail, and route immersion.
Operationally, the route offers a varied and realistic timetable:
Windsor services operate every 20 minutes
Henley services run every 30 minutes
Marlow services run hourly, increasing to every 30 minutes during peak times
Every service starts and finishes within the respective branch itself, accurately reflecting real-world operations.
"One of the most exciting additions is the implementation of the fully interactable token system on the Marlow branch. This feature recreates the authentic working practices of the line and introduces a completely unique gameplay element rarely seen in Train Sim World."
"A huge amount of development time has also gone into environmental immersion. For the first time in TSW, most houses across the route use parallax window technology to simulate detailed 3D interiors. This significantly enhances visual depth and transforms how towns and residential areas look during night operations."
"The route world is also filled with animated and reactive detail, including moving river traffic and pigeons that scatter as trains or players approach."
"Beyond that, there has been a strong emphasis on real-world authenticity through carefully recreated road signage and realistic local bus branding throughout the map."
"The goal with all of these features is to make the route feel believable and lived in, not simply visually accurate."
"The project has continued to make excellent progress, with ongoing work centred around polishing the route experience and refining the many smaller details across all three branches. I can’t wait to show more of what’s been coming together."
Now that we've finished sharing the latest for the Thames Valley Branches, let's hear more about Incredible Train's continued work on the Mildmay Extension!
Onto Incredible Trains; Johannes has provided an update on the upcoming Mildmay line Extension, including information on performance optimisation on the route to improve frame rates for the original routes as well as the extension.
Johannes: "Work on the Richmond Extension has been progressing extremely well, and the project is now in a very strong state overall. Over recent months, a significant amount of development time has been dedicated not only to the extension itself, but also to improving the experience across the existing route as a whole."
"A major focus has been performance optimisation. Extensive work has been carried out to improve overall frame rates throughout both the original route and the extension, alongside a large number of texture memory optimisations aimed at addressing blurry texture issues and improving visual consistency during gameplay."
"These improvements have allowed the route to maintain it's high level of environmental detail while also delivering a noticeably smoother and more stable experience overall."
"I’m also very pleased to confirm that TfL has kindly provided access to the original announcement audio files for both the Class 378 and the station announcement system. As a result, the Richmond Extension will feature authentic, officially licensed TfL train and station announcements throughout the route."
"This is a feature I know many players have been hoping for, and it adds a huge amount of authenticity and atmosphere to the overall experience."
"Development continues to focus on refinement, polish, and ensuring the route delivers the highest possible level of immersion and quality across the entire network."
Thank you Johannes, we can't wait to share more in future updates!
We've also checked in with the TSG development team on their next route in development, and a few new screenshots of their progress since last month!
This is the fastest ever German High Speed route, boasting an incredible 300km/h running speed with the ICE 3 and München-Nürnberg-Express. The route is famous for setting some speed records as with the Taurus achieving 357km/h on a test run!
Enjoy the DB BR 101 with München Nürnberg Express wagons and cab car, as well as the DB BR 403 ICE 3 included on the route!
Add-ons Still In Development
As a nod to other projects in-development, we haven't got any updates to share this month for the below add-ons, but they are still progressing with their respective teams, and we'll aim to share more information when we have further updates!
Cargo Line Vol.6 - Gas
Tadami Line: Aizu Wakamatsu-Tadami

This month, we wanted to provide a summary and reflection of our development on the core improvements and key systems we've been trackign since we released Train Sim World, and sharing thoughts and details on what we're doing next.
Blurred Textures \
Our teams have been tackling optimisation as a priority since the plague of blurred visuals appearing in TSW starting occuring, especially impacting some specific add-ons more than others. We discussed in detail that multiple factors lead to texture quality dropping, usually forming from a combination of hardware memory limitations, optimisation efficiency and content implementation, and we've learnt over the last few months how to more effectively work to stricter limitations, either from our Dovetail team, or by working with our talented third-party development groups, and fundamentally sharing those learnings across the teams. To be clear, our work on bettering optimisation will remain a top priority, however, we're happy to have made progress, and many of our recent releases have proven that we can work to mitigate this issue.
The goal remains the same, but moving forwards, we'll look at discussing other key topics in our State of the Game updates, and coming back to optimisation when we have larger updates and details to bring you.
Add-on Mounting Optimisations \
Our development into smarter content loading optimisations is continuing, but taking longer than we initially anticipated. It works in tandem is general optimisation updates, with the goal of lowering the sizes of dependant content with layered add-ons to avoid instances where certain content fails to load when crossing over these platform-based limitations. We'll aim to bring more news of these improvements when we've got details worth highlighting.
Note from Senior Community Manager Alex: I'd like to keep exploring topics and discussions around the State of the Game, and ensure this is a segment we continue each month, so that we remain communicative and honest to you all across the community, and help bring you a clear insight into what priorities we're making for Train Sim World. Are there any topics you'd like to hear us discuss next? Feel free to comment on this Roadmap blog, via the Forums, Discord, or chat to us on the Roadmap livestream to share your thoughts!

Last week we shared a joint statement with the ATS development team regarding the BR Class 90, with an apology for the quality of the add-on on its release, outlinging the missteps from both of our teams, and what processes we're changing to avoid this from happening again in future. We also provided a range of details about the updates you can expect, aiming to align with the June 16th update noted above.
Here's a top-level summary of the changes ATS are aiming to make in this full Class 90 update:
Safety Systems & Controller Bindings (AWS/TPWS/DSD)
Overhauled Speed Set System
Tandem Operations & Brake Logic
Audio Adjustments & Loop Overhauls
Testing & Optimisation, including core code optimisation to improve overall performance
There will be more changes alongside these key areas, and we'll share the full patch notes alongside our update in mid-June.
Moving Forward & Lessons Learned
Both DTG and ATS remain fully committed to hearing your additional feedback following this update and ensuring that any remaining areas are identified and worked into subsequent updates if required.
Whilst this development has been challenging for both ourselves and DTG - learning the finer details of Simugraph and Unreal Engine have been steps on this journey, and DTG have been reviewing the available documentation support and processes they can offer new developers - we believe the lessons we've learnt will make our future projects together stronger. We look forward both future improvements and Add-ons with all the above in mind.
Thank you all for sharing your feedback, for holding us to account, and for your patience while we work to make this add-on right. We will keep you updated with additional communication as soon as the build is ready for deployment.

Hello everyone,
Today we would like to share an important update regarding the BR Class 90 Electric Freight Loco, addressing the feedback surrounding its launch, and outlining what you can expect next from our teams at Dovetail Games and Alan Thomson Simulation (ATS).
Firstly, we want to apologise for the quality of the add-on on its release. We know how highly anticipated this iconic piece of UK freight traction was, and the launch build fell far short of the quality and standards you should expect. There were clear missteps in both our communication and development processes during the final stages before release, and both teams take full ownership of our respective parts in that.
Our teams wanted to take some time to align internally before coming out with our plans moving forward, letting the development progress, so we could confidently detail what changes will be on the way, and hopefully showing that we have listened, understood, and acted on the feedback shared.
Over the last few weeks, both our groups have worked closely together to correct critical errors, clear out background issues, and implement performance optimisations. A comprehensive update is now currently undergoing rigorous QA testing before we can share this with you. It is planned to release within the first half of June, alongside our next core update, and we will share the exact date as soon as the builds are locked into that schedule or update you all if anything changes.
Here is exactly what has been fixed, adjusted, and overhauled for this upcoming update:
Safety Systems & Controller Bindings (AWS/TPWS/DSD): The safety system controller binding fix was originally due to be included in the launch build. However, when investigating this further, the fix brought to light deeper errors within the underlying safety system coding. Resolving this properly required a complete, ground-up rewrite of the safety systems. With invaluable help and technical support from DTG, ATS have successfully rewritten this code to ensure the AWS, TPWS, and DSD systems are now functioning exactly as intended. They can be acknowledged via standard controller keybinds without requiring a keyboard workaround or awkward in-cab crosshair clicking on consoles. Additionally, safety system statuses will now be correctly retained during cab changes, eliminating the need to reset them manually.
Overhauled Speed Set System: We have completely overhauled the Speed Set system. The original implementation has been removed and rebuilt from the ground up to utilise DTG’s core Simugraph framework with minimal code intervention, ensuring it now functions reliably in line with expected behaviour.
Tandem Operations & Brake Logic: We have re-coded the direction and power logic for tandem driving following DTG’s specific technical recommendations.
Fixed the DSD issue that caused an unrecoverable brake dump.
Fixed the parking brake logic so they can no longer be engaged or released while the train is moving.
Audio Adjustments & Loop Overhauls: We heard your feedback regarding the cab audio environment loud and clear. The windscreen wiper audio and the prominent, short cab HVAC loops have been completely overhauled with new assets. We have also fine-tuned the volume levels and balances to iron out jarring sound transitions. The audio is now in a much more stable place, but because sound is highly subjective, we welcome specific feedback regarding volume levels or bass/treble balance once the update is live so we can fine-tune further if needed.
Testing & Optimisation: We have cleaned up the core code to improve overall performance, implementing critical code corrections to maximise frame-rate stability and eliminate background errors. These fixes have been thoroughly tested across solo, x2, x3, and loaded freight configurations to ensure the locomotive behaves reliably under normal operating conditions.
Areas Beyond the Scope of This Update
Bringing you a meaningful update also means being upfront about what we couldn't include in this specific June update. We want to be clear on where we stand with two major areas of community feedback:
Timetable & AI Integration: We know there is a strong desire to see the Class 90 fully integrated into wider AI layers and other routes. While we are actively working on plans to bring the Class 90 to the Manchester Airport Commuter (MAC) route in the future, timetable engineering and wider AI integration are completely outside the scope of this particular stability update.
Locomotive Textures: During development, the visual textures of the Class 90 were heavily optimised to strictly prevent the well-known "blurred textures" issue from occurring. Reading your feedback, we realise this optimisation went too far into the "safe zone," resulting in a loss of visual fidelity. We are currently working closely with DTG to find a happy medium that restores crispness without breaking console stability.
In the meantime: We will be hosting a texture mod on the ATS website for PC players to download if they wish. Please note that this is a temporary workaround and we do not consider it a permanent solution. Because this workaround cannot help our console community, our ultimate goal remains finding a proper, balanced texture update that can be deployed safely to both PC and console platforms alike.
Strap in and prepare to tear up this 108-mile highspeed thrill ride in what is the longest UK route ever produced for Train Sim World, courtesy of All Aboard Studios. Your weapons of choice? The Avanti West Coast BR Class 807 Evero and Class 350/4 expresses.
Add WCML Trent Valley to your Steam Wishlist
“Headed up by Dan and Kieran, we are a team built on passion, expertise, and a drive to push railway simulation further than ever before. With years of experience in both game development and the railway industry, our expert team has been behind a variety of releases for Train Sim World and Train Simulator Classic, crafting detailed routes, rolling stock, and immersive environments that players have enjoyed for years. Now, we’re bringing that knowledge, skill, and ambition into our own Train Sim World releases, and we couldn’t be more excited to share what’s coming.”
Their first route, WCML Birmingham - Crewe, and loco Add-on, the Avanti West Coast Class 805, were then announced in Dovetail Direct Summer 2025's Take-A-Ticket segment and the August Roadmap.
Speaking of which...
The latest innovation of the AT300 fleet, the Evero entered into service in October 2024, replacing Avanti West Coast's Class 221 Super Voyager. Powered via 25 kV 50 Hz AC overhead electrification, this 182 metre-long bolt of lightning can hit speeds of up to 125mph. It also includes a regenerative braking system that harvests energy when the brakes are applied, improving efficiency on this high-speed route. Not that you would notice all of this going on outside as the interior boasts spacious and ergonomic seating, enhanced legroom, and noise reduction measures to ensure a quieter journey - like sitting on a very fast cloud.
The Class 350/4 is a high-performance subclass of the Class 350, built for 25 kV AC overhead electrification and designed to handle both regional and intercity work with ease. A regular sight on the West Coast Main Line, the Class 350/4 offers comfortable seating and first-class accommodation for longer journeys. This thing is no slouch either, with a top speed of 110 mph, it’s just as capable stopping at local stations across Warwickshire and Staffordshire as it is stretching its legs and gunning it on faster runs between Stafford and Crewe.
There are 478 total playable services available in timetable mode, but once you factor in AI, you’re looking at 2,301 layers in total. The add-on introduces a range of scenarios such as recovering failed trains and operating in poor weather conditions with realistic dialogue when communicating with the signaller.
All Aboard Studios will share a detailed breakdown of layers and service patterns in their own Dev Diary. But to wet your whistle for what’s to come, here are the add-ons required to add more playable and AI services to the timetable:
Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolino
Avanti West Coast Class 805 Evero
CrossCountry Class 220 Voyager (2x services, plus AI at Stafford & Tamworth High Level
BR Class 350/2 and /3 (Birmingham - Crewe)

Weave through Wolverton and power round the curve through Rugby in the Class 390 Pendolino, which offers a variety of limited and non-stop services across the Trent Valley.
323 meets 323! A rather lost Northern Class 323 passes through the lower platforms of Lichfield Trent Valley, the terminus of the Cross-City line, briefly saying hi to a classmate on its way south to Wolverton for refurbishment.
A pair of Sprinters scream through snowy scenes on an ECS move from Barton Under Needwood to Chester, having taken over at Lichfield. Despite giving it all the beans, it's certainly no Pendolino, making for some thrilling overtake action!
Making its way from Leicester LIP, a light engine ROG Class 37 approaches the Trent Valley Line from the Nuneaton Flyover, preparing to join the route for an early morning jaunt towards Crewe.
Scenarios, Collectibles and Mastery Challenges will also be available, as per most Train Sim World route Add-ons.
Train Sim World 6: West Coast Main Line Trent Valley: Milton Keynes - Crewe will release June 9th for £32.99 / €39.99 / $44.99.
WCML: Milton Keynes - Crewe is an Add-on for Train Sim World 6. If you've not yet upgraded, you can still do so in a number of ways.
Upgrading via Train Sim World 6: Deluxe Edition will not only give you access to three brand new routes: Riviera Line, Morristown Line and Leipzig-Dresden, but also the CrossCountry Class 220 Voyager, which layers into services for WCML: Milton Keynes - Crewe.

A new livery takes to the rails
A new iconic look is arriving soon in Train Sim World 6! Introducing the Great British Railways Class 802, showcasing a bold new livery that represents the next chapter of rail travel across the UK.
In collaboration with the UK Government, Dovetail Games has supported the debut of this brand-new identity since its initial unveiling on the platform in 2025. This marks the first time players can experience the new GBR livery, even before it appears across real-world services nationwide.
From city to coast Take charge of the Class 802 across two iconic UK routes in Train Sim World 6:
East Coast Main Line: Peterborough – Doncaster
Riviera Line: Exeter – Plymouth & Paignton
Experience the contrast between high-speed mainline running and scenic coastal operations. From navigating Newark Flat Crossing to running alongside the Dawlish Sea Wall, each route offers a distinct driving experience. Across both routes, the Class 802 introduces new gameplay opportunities. Take on two dedicated scenarios per route, each offering unique challenges tailored to their environments. Take on a range of bespoke scenarios, including:
Flying the Flag Take the 802 to the depot for a repaint before collecting the newly painted train and taking it out for its first service.
Riviera Rendezvous Take control of a special service celebrating the history of the Riviera Line while visiting historic landmarks along the route.
Snow Stopper Weeave through track closures and delays during a cold snap in the West Country.
Can’t Park There, Sir! A car has caused a level crossing failure, delaying passenger services on the ECML.
In addition, a special “All Stops” timetable service has been added in each direction on both routes:
ECML: 1Z78 and 1Z79
Riviera Line: 1Z44 and 1Z45
You’ll also encounter the GBR Class 802 through select timetable substitutions, adding even more variety to your experience. Take it further in Free Roam and explore the network on your own terms with the new GBR livery.
A first for Train Sim World
This release is unlike anything we have done before. The GBR Class 802 marks the debut of a real-world livery in-game before it has been fully rolled out across the railway. A significant milestone for Train Sim World.
As Great British Railways prepares to launch as a publicly owned system from 2027, this new livery is expected to act as a template for trains across the country. It gives players an early glimpse into the future of UK rail.
Drive the GBR Class 802 BMU - Available May 6th
Part of the renowned AT300 family, the Class 802 is a versatile bi-mode multiple unit capable of operating on both electrified and non-electrified routes.
Seamlessly switch between overhead electric power and onboard diesel engines as you adapt to the demands of the route ahead. The GBR Class 802 delivers a modern, dynamic driving experience.

Whilst we don't have anything to share with you on this Roadmap, the release isn't too far away on this Add-on. Refresh your memories with the Season of Reveals, and February and March Roadmaps, and we hope to have more information for you on a release date later this month.
You might have noticed a new entry to the Roadmap in the latest of Skyhook Games' Cargo Line packs - and the German flag alongside it, making it the first time it'll feature German content. We'll tantalise you with that for now, but will have more information for you in the build-up to release!
Onto Incredible Trains' Johannes, who is very excited to share his newest project with the community; Thames Valley Branches. We have some further info on his development on the Mildmay extension later, but for now, let's hear what he has to say about Thames Valley Branches!
Johannes: "This DLC is a first for me, featuring three independent and unconnected branch lines, all diverging from the Great Western Main Line:
The Windsor Branch Line (2 miles / 4.5km)
The Marlow Branch Line (7 miles /11.5km)
The Henley Branch Line (4.5 miles / 7.2km)
"Each branch offers its own distinct character and operating style. Operationally, the Marlow Branch stands out in particular, where services reverse mid-journey at Bourne End before continuing towards Marlow. This branch also features a fully modelled and interactive token system, adding a unique and authentic operational challenge."
Across the three routes, the DLC introduces 11 stations:
Windsor Branch
Slough
Windsor & Eton Central
Marlow Branch
Maidenhead
Furze Platt
Cookham
Bourne End
Marlow
Henley Branch
Twyford
Wargrave
Shiplake
Henley-on-Thames
"All three lines are set in the scenic Thames Valley, just west of London, with multiple crossings of the River Thames providing a distinctive and picturesque backdrop."
"Although the branches are operationally independent, players can seamlessly move between them using the fast travel feature. For owners of Great Western Express, route hopping is also supported, allowing travel between branch lines via the Great Western Main Line network."
"The DLC also introduces the Class 165 Turbo Networker (2-car). This unit features a unique interior and subtle external differences compared to the Class 166 from Great Western Express. It also benefits from a range of newer TSW features that were not available on the Class 166, including Livery Designer support, enhanced physics simulation, additional cab functionality, and improved night lighting."
Incredible Trains are looking forward to sharing even more exciting features with you all in the coming months.
We have another couple of updates from our friends at High Iron Simulations, starting with the upcoming BNSF GP60M Loco Add-on! The team have given us some extra details on what to expect from the timetable, the layers and the scenarios.
HIS: "The BNSF GP60M will be included “as built” and with “-3 rebuild” controls. And it will be joined in the pack by its cabless sister, the GP60B, and modern articulated “spine” intermodal car. This month, we’d like to share more details on the pack’s action-packed gameplay.
"The BNSF GP60M is the primary power on select services but is also used in place of the ES44C4 on several services. The GP60M can also substitute for the BNSF SD40-2 on locals. The BNSF ES44C4 (Cajon Pass) is the primary motive power for many mainline trains and can substituted by the BNSF SD70ACe. The Santa Fe C40-8W and locomotives from railroads including NS or CSX can also substitute for the ES44C4s."
The HIS team are happy to report that the loco will be ready for release very soon, so keep an eye on Dovetail Live or our community spaces for details on a release date.
Staying with High Iron Simulations, we have a short update on the rolling stock and gameplay for High Iron Simulations' Southern Ore Lines, now that the Hayden route itself has largely been completed.
HIS: "We’re excited to provide WIP images of one of the most important, and distinctive, types of rolling stock on the route – the side-dump ore gondolas. These cars, constructed by Magor Car Corp in 1959, were the workhorses of the Hayden Branch during the SP era (and many remain in service today), carrying tons or copper ore from mine to smelter. As created for the route, the car will be fully interactive."
We look forward to sharing more details from High Iron Simulations on Southern Ore Lines in future roadmaps.
We have a short but exciting update from Union Workshop on their development of the Tadami Line Add-on. We've been provided screenshots of their work on creating region-specific passengers and drivers, which will be appearing across the route as you ride through the gorgeous greenery and radiant rivers.
We'll continue to update you on all the latest for Tadami Line, so keep an eye on community spaces for more!
Just Trains are back with more updates on their development for WCML: Crewe - Preston route. See if you can spot a classic Wigan treat in one of the new screenshots, which also include a bunch of brand new screenshots (external and internal) of the Class 86/4!
Just Trains: "This development update for the Crewe to Preston route features an in depth screenshot presentation of the upcoming Class 86/4 and our new MK1 RBR and MK2d and MK2e coaching stock, the below screenshots cover all the included variants of each."
Class 86/4: "The Class 86/4 locomotives were used as mixed traffic variant of the class, seen split across freight, mail and passenger workings. Unlike the Class 86/2, the Class 86/4 is capable of working in multiple, so can be found working freight trains in tandem with other 86/4’s and Class 87’s (if you own the Preston-Carlisle route), these include heavy steel trains and freightliner services. A variety of locomotive variants are included, each accurate to early 1987 for our 1986-7 timetable, the spreadsheet linked below illustrates all of these in detail for each locomotive."
Coaching Stock: "Further BR Mk1 and Mk2 rolling stock will be included with the Crewe-Preston route, this includes a MK1 NEA, MK1 RBR, MK2E TSO and MK2D BFK and FK. The images below show in detail the Mk2’s and the Mk1 RBR which of course features a fully stocked buffet counter! If you own the Preston to Carlisle and Class 86/2 DLC’s you will find widely varied consists, each one aligned to its real life counterpart from the 1986/7 timetable."
Speaking of Just Trains, shall we see how they're getting on with their Cumbian Coast Route.
Just Trains have provided us with a short summary of their work on Cumbian Coast: Carlisle - Whitehaven, alongside some screenshots of the Class 108 and the route development.
Just Trains: "In our first in-development update for the Cumbrian Coast: Carlisle to Whitehaven we take a brief look at the Dalston station area and a further view of the deep valley between Maryport and Aspatria, work continues apace on scenery and the Class 108 DMU which will be included with the route."
Thank you to Just Trains for providing an update on both their upcoming projects! Be sure to check in on the Just Trains blog and future roadmaps for more information.
Heading over to Germany; we have an in-depth look into how the team at TSG have worked on improving the driving experience of steam locomotives in TSW with their work on the BR23 for the upcoming Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg - Neckarelz Route.
TSG: "So far in our development of steam we’ve fixed a couple of issues affecting steam at a broad level. One of the first things we fixed was related to the debug firing mode. This mode is used most notably on the Flying Scotsman and 4F and automatically adds water to the boiler to maintain a constant level, this however wasn’t drawing water from the tender at the correct rate giving the impression that it wasn’t using water at all. This, as it turned out, was a unit conversion error causing water to be drawn from the tender 1000 times too slowly."
"We also fixed a bug where the automatic fireman couldn’t operate the injector controls, this was necessary because we moved away from the debug firing mode on the BR23."
"The next issue we attended was the lack of AI chuffing, this confused us for a while as we found that it would actually randomly work at times, most notably when running light engine. This we had hoped would be applied automatically to past stock, unfortunately the fix requires a blueprint change on past stock to get it to work."
"Focussing more on the BR23 itself we created a modified firebox simugraph node to allow us to adjust behaviour without massively affecting past content. The firebox mode we currently have in TSW generates too much steam at lower boiler outputs, and it takes hours for the fire to heat up or cool down giving the user no way to 'Shut it up.'"
"On the old setup for example on the 4F, if the fire was at its hottest the boiler would generate around 19,000lb of steam per hour. If the driver shutoff at that instant, shut the damper and closed the firebox doors the steam generated would fall to 5842b/hr or around 31% of its output. Over the course of around an hour the temperature would start to drop and with it the boilers output, but at its minimum the steam generation would still only drop to around 3329lb at its lowest or about 17.5% output. Considering the auxiliaries use maybe around 800lb of steam per hour this is why the safety valves on those engines blow nearly constantly. How the generation and coal burn rate affected steam generation was also a bit odd, the coal burn rate barely changes and the lowest it could ever go was around 55% of maximum, while temperature had very little effect on generation as shown below:"
"This being with the damper and firebox doors open. We have changed it so the steam generation can get considerably lower, while the coal burn rate is also more dynamic. Under the same circumstances with the changes:"
"The rate the temperature changes is also greater, previously it would take nearly an hour for the temperature to change from maximum to nearly minimum, now it takes a couple of minutes. Both combined allow you to have a greater degree of control on the boiler's output while being more responsive to inputs. In the near future we will be adding further changes impacting steam generation from mishandling such as too thick of a fire or poor combustion."
"Finally we are looking at some injector changes to improve their behaviour as we are using them this time. Additionally we need to add support for feed water heaters which the BR23 and a lot of German locomotives are fitted with."
"Overall we hope these changes should address a lot of the feedback with previous content, especially the steam generation and lack of AI Chuff sounds. We are of course open to more changes should time permit. Additionally, we have started to do sound recordings at the Museum in Darmstadt."
"Their BR23 042 has actually operated on Neckartalbahn, so it’s the perfect machine to record! Thank you to all the lovely people there helping us."
Thank you to TSG for this development deep dive into the BR23. We'll have more info on Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg - Neckarelz in future roadmap updates coming soon.
Back to Incredible Trains; work on the Richmond extension for the Mildmay Add-on is progressing well, with steady advances across scenery, operations, and rolling stock integration. Johannes has given us some further development updates below!
Johannes: "Along the route, the line crosses the Great Western Main Line, where players will encounter AI traffic including Class 345 Elizabeth line services and GWR Class 802 intercity trains. The route also intersects with the London Underground at several points, bringing additional atmosphere through passing AI Tube services."
The extension will introduce five new stations: * Acton Central * South Acton * Gunnersbury * Kew Gardens * Richmond
"A standout operational feature of the extension is the traction power changeover at Acton Central, transitioning from 25kV AC overhead line equipment to 750V DC third rail, adding an extra layer of realism to operations."
"For players who own both the Class 484 and Great Western Express, a reskinned version of the Class 484, representing District line stock, will be available to drive between Richmond and Gunnersbury, expanding gameplay variety on the route."
"Timetable work has also seen significant updates. The recently released Class 90 is now fully integrated as a substitute across all freight services. Passenger operations are also being expanded, with one full diagram on the Richmond timetable now operated by the Class 710, allowing owners of the Suffragette line to make regular use of the unit in service."
"Rolling stock improvements continue as well. The Class 378 passenger interior has been upgraded with greater detail to better match the real unit, and cab night lighting has been enhanced for improved realism during evening and night operations."
Thank you to Johannes for the update! Keep your eyes out for further details on the extension coming soon.
FolezzWorld have provided some brand new screenshots of some of the more industrial style scenery on their upcoming Rhein-Niers Bahn route. You might also be able to spot something that could lift your spirits if you were to see it on your drive, but it equally might just go over your head. Sorry.

Add-on Mounting Optimisations \ Work to support smarter content loading optimisations is continuing, lowering the size of dependant content with layered add-ons to avoid instances where certain content fails to load when crossing over these platform-based limitations. These improvements are primarily focused on PS5, where we see the greatest impact, and then will be worked to all other game platforms.
Blurred Textures \ Our work is still ongoing to understand and build processes that ensure TSW releases all run at the high visual quality you expect across all platforms, and recent TSW6 releases have proven that our current progress is showing positive results.
Status: We’re currently working with key developers and third-party specialists to help build documentation and guides to support the entire development programme and ensure that all our content is optimised as much as possible.
Since our last Roadmap update, we’ve had two TSW updates, primarily focussed on supporting improvements and changes to UK-based add-ons, that we’ve been able to build around some of our releases in April.
April 16th Update – Small update aimed at improving a range of fixes for Great Western Express Remastered and East Coastway Remastered routes.
April 27th Update – Substantial update with a range of improvements and key fixes, including a Medway Valley PS5 audio hotfix, and updates to Riviera Line, Class 220, Cargo Line Vol. 5, GWE & ECW Remasters, East Coast Mainline, the DB BR 147 and more!
In addition to these supporting updates, we’ve also got our next major core updates planned for the end of May, which should bring a range of core changes, fixes and improvements to Add-ons, following your feedback in our community spaces, and areas our teams have identified. The next large update we're planning towards the end of the month will contain a selection of updates to Core and Add-ons - whilst at the moment we're reviewing and testing, so can't provide a definitive list of updates, we're looking at focusing on our German content:
Add-ons Manager (and loading time) improvements
Memory and optimisation improvements
DB BR 145 Expert
DB BR 147
Stuttgart-Heilbronn
Dresden-Leipzig
Frankfurt S-Bahn

A new iconic look is arriving soon in Train Sim World 6! Introducing the Great British Railways Class 802, showcasing a bold new livery that represents the next chapter of rail travel across the UK.
In collaboration with the UK Government, Dovetail Games has supported the debut of this brand-new identity since its initial unveiling on the platform in 2025. This marks the first time players can experience the new GBR livery, even before it appears across real-world services nationwide.
Take charge of the Class 802 across two iconic UK routes in Train Sim World 6:
Train Sim World 6: Great British Railways Class 802 is releasing on May 6th 2026, 2026, for Epic Games Store, Steam, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 for £4.99 / €5.99 / $5.99.
For the full experience, we recommend owning Train Sim World 6: Riviera Line and ECML: Peterborough to Doncaster, available on the same platforms for £29.99 / €35.99 / $39.99.

Train Sim World 6: GWR HST Farewell Pack is releasing on April 16th 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Epic Games Store, and Steam for £12.99/€15.99/$16.99.
Modern German traction is arriving to Train Sim World 6 in the form of the DB BR 147 locomotive from the Dovetail Games team, with a timetable twist for Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn!
Train Sim World 6: DB BR 147 is releasing on April 9th 2026 for £14.99/€17.99/$17.99.
Following in the footsteps of earlier locomotive series such as the BR 145 and 146, the BR 147 represents the most recent iteration of TRAXX locos which have been in service across Europe since the late 1990s. Featuring a revised cab design to their elder counterparts, and a more rugged-looking body, the BR 147 offers the latest innovations, with modernised controls, functionality and traction packages, all while offering the same tried and tested versatility. The DB BR 147s are locomotives built for passenger use, capable of 160 km/h and useful on DB Regio services in big cities, replacing older traction on busy lines.
The DB BR 147s offers you the chance to time travel and experience Frankenbahn: Stuttgart - Heilbronn with an all-new 2018-era timetable, in which the BR 147 is utilised on various regional services. Much like the DB BR 111 in the 2000s timetable, the 147 operates in push-pull configuration with either n-Wagens or Dostos, pulling trains to Stuttgart and pushing them to Heilbronn... but not always! Look out for some unique formations in the mix.
Go up against the odds and take on unique operations with a trio of scenarios too; weather woes and convoluted convoys await!
In Train Sim World, the BR 147 has been recreated with accuracy, with a completed reference trip to capture the main sounds of the loco, such as traction motors, horns, brakes, bogies, HVAC and pantograph, taken straight from the 147 itself to make it sound as realistic as possible. Attention has also been put onto the in-cab screens which, being a modern loco, display a lot of information and hide controls which would otherwise be buttons, switches and dials in older models.
The modern controls offer a completely different way to experience the route, although the Wittenberger cab car still provides a nice contrast.
Specific features of the DB BR 147 in-game include:
A brand new model, unrelated to the BR 187 already in-game
Train Faults including Pantograph Failure, Wiper Blade stuck and Door Faults on the passenger coaches
Audible Passenger Announcements
In-depth screen navigation, including displaying your stopping pattern
Ergonomic controls - e.g. the AFB toggle is on the AFB Lever itself rather than a separate switch
Let's take a closer look at the new 2018 timetable, and the layers included that you can make the most of!
Starting with the recent release of the Expert DB BR 145, there are some services where this will substitute for the BR 147, reflecting the operational reality of the period where these locomotives often filled gaps as the 147s were being phased into service.
As an important note: the NV variant (with destination display) is not used here, because it did not run on the line during this period, keeping the timetable representative.
Utilising the new Stuttgart S-Bahn DB BR 423, which will be added into the route alongside the DB BR 147's release, a full suite of S4, S5 and S6 services are playable, nearly making up half of the timetable service count by itself! This new BR 423 also replaces the Frankfurt S-Bahn layer on the 2000s timetable, meaning it is no longer a requirement to access that gameplay, and it is included by default.
The BR 110 from Bremen - Oldenburg also adds variety, alongside the 'Karlsruher Kopf' KaKo cab car. These services will be running to and from Bad Wildbad, in shorter, more localised runs that provide a distinct change of pace from the mainline.
For the thrill seekers, the ICE 3M from Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn layers in, and features two full-length runs across the line as well as appears near Stuttgart throughout the day. Similarly, the non-expert DB BR 101 makes an appearance with two full-length runs of its own, providing long-distance expresses, as well as shunting movements into Stuttgart with the BR 363.
Freight action doesn't stop despite the time travel, although it's almost exclusively handled by diesel traction. Shuttle cargo across the route in the BR 363, with the DB BR 294 substituting in if you own it. A most unique set of services await owners of Rhein-Ruhr Osten, where you get to drive a contrasting combo of DB BR 140 and MRCE BR 185 traction, including a service where one drives right into Stuttgart Hbf itself!
Finally, the BR 425 adds some services between Stuttgart and Bietigheim-Bissingen, and an AI-only BR 425 makes an appearance on the infrequent RB11 at Kornwestheim, only at peak-time.
The DB BR 628 from Niddertalbahn also appears as AI at Heilbronn, and there will also be additional AI-only services adding traffic around Stuttgart, including:
ICE 1 from Kassel - Würzburg
ICE-T from Frankfurt - Fulda
ÖBB 1116 from Semmeringbahn
FlixTrain BR 193
DB BR 442 from Köln - Aachen Remastered

Hello and welcome to the TSW6 April 2026 Roadmap! If you're new to our community, these roadmaps are a monthly check-in with updates on upcoming content, details on further improvements to the game and conversations with our development partners. This roadmap, we're excited to announce our latest train Add-on, the Great British Railways Class 802, along with a deep dive on area surrounding Warrington Bank Quay on the upcoming WCML: Crewe - Preston from Just Trains, a further update on High Iron Simulations' BNSF Electro-Motive GP60M Loco and Southern Pacific Ore Lines and much, much more!
Be sure to join us for our April Roadmap livestream tonight (7th April 2026 7pm BST), hosted Alex, Senior Community Manager, where he'll be discussing all of the news below alongside answering your questions!
Get ready for more German traction arriving to Train Sim World 6 from the Dovetail Games team with the DB BR 147 locomotive, with a modern timetable twist for Frankenbahn: Stuttgart-Heilbronn.
We initially postponed the release and showcase stream for the 147, but now that the Stuttgart patch has been released, we're happy to confirm that the new release date for the 147 will be Thursday 9th April 2026 - that's this Thursday! Community Manager Jan will be being joined by Technical Producer Lukas and special guest Trainsa for a showcase livestream to coincide with the launch on Thursday, too.
Train Sim World 6: DB BR 147 is releasing on Thursday 9th April 2026 for £14.99/€17.99/$17.99.
Starting the roadmap with some new announcements, starting with the Great British Railways Class 802 BMU Add-on. You might or might not remember spotting some familiar Dovetail faces during the Government's unveiling of the new Great British Railways livery for the new nationalised rail service in the UK, where Dovetail Games had the pleasure to work on creating visuals of the new GBR Class 802.
A BMU, or Bi-mode Multiple Unit, can be powered by electricity or by their diesel engine depending on what is required. There will be a power changeover mode included with the Class 802, including a tutorial on how to do this.
We'll have more info on future roadmaps about the GBR Class 802, including what kind of timetable services and scenarios you can expect when it comes to Riviera Line and East Coat Mainline!
From the UK to the US, we have an update from the High Iron Simulations crew, who are in full swing with the development of multiple TSW projects. Starting with the BNSF Electro-Motive GP60M locomotive! Here's the latest from HIS team:
HIS: "The GP60M and sister GP60B, rolling stock, and full range of gameplay is largely complete, and in the testing and refinement stage."
"The pack features the GP60M with both its “as built” console control configuration and “Dash 3” rebuilt configuration and in BNSF H2 and H4 liveries, respectively. The GP60B is dressed in BNSF H1 livery. And the pack includes a three-unit articulated “spine” intermodal car, an ex-Santa Fe Ga-series cement hopper in three BNSF liveries, a 3-bay ribbed-side covered hopper in BNSF livery, and an 89-foot auto rack in BNSF livery."
"The Pack promises tons of railroading operations: The timetabled services for Cajon Pass, based on BNSF symbols and consists, include intermodal, manifest, and unit train movements as well as subdivision locals, road-switchers, and turns. Four scenarios are included on Cajon Pass as well as four bonus scenarios on the San Bernardino route! And the pack also provides a Union Pacific layer with drivable services on the BNSF main line and Palmdale cutoff."
Speaking of High Iron Simulations, we've also been provided a further update on their first route...
High Iron Simulations have also provided a further update for their Southern Pacific Ore Lines, including the rolling stock and scenario info!
HIS: "High Iron Simulations’ first TSW6 route is receiving its final details while locomotive and rolling stock work continues and gameplay development has begun."
"Equipment for the route will include Southern Pacific’s Electro-Motive GP35, SP C30-4 steel bay-window, Magor-built ore-hauling gondola with dumping capabilities, 43-foot acid tank car, and Southern Pacific 56-foot anode flat car."
"GamePlay in the form of timetabled services and scenarios promises the complete experience of operating this famed branch line railroad, from loading copper ore at the mine to road haul, to unloading ore at the smelter to handling outbound copper tonnage!"
Thank you to the High Iron Simulations team for the updates! We'll be keeping you posted on both their current developments, and maybe a sneaky look at their next project in the United States, in future roadmap updates ahead.
Union Workshop are continuing their work on Tadami Line. Development of the route is progressing well, and the team are spending additional time working on community-feedback to implement passenger models that are more representative of commuters from Japan. While the roadmap update is shorter this time round, we do have a bunch of new screenshots to share with you today!
Thank you to Union Workshop for the extra screenshots! Be sure to look out for future updates to the Tadami Line in further communications down the line.
Just Trains have provided us with their next development update for the Crewe-Preston route, focusing on the key area surrounding Warrington, with Bank Quay station, and its four through platforms and two bay platforms acting as the main focal point.
Just Trains: "Warrington is located around half way between Crewe and Preston and is called at by most express services, whilst DMU’s and loco hauled services from North Wales to Manchester and Yorkshire also stop here as they transition from the Chester line via Helsby to the Chat Moss via Newton-Le-Willows. Positioning yourself on the south end of Bank Quay Station is a great way to spend a few hours in the route as the comings and goings are pretty much constant."
"Aside from passenger workings, Warrington offers even more interest when it comes to freight, with three separate yards all seeing considerable traffic 24 hours a day. To the south are Manchester Ship Canal Sidings and Walton Old Sidings, the former is utilised by the Merry-Go-Round coal trains which must reverse here to access Latchford Sidings, where they again reverse to head west to Fiddlers Ferry Power Station. These reversals take the form of both run rounds and drags, with a Class 08 employed regularly during the 1980s for these activities, hauling heavy coal trains between MSC and Latchford. Walton Old Sidings serve to supply wagons for a variety of freight services, including speedlink, whilst the sidings at Arpley fulfil much the same role, with four shunt necks central to the operation of these yards."
"Following the line east out of Warrington towards Latchford reveals a number of semaphore signals around Arpley Junction, with the signal box here featuring a full interior. This railway once formed a through line to Altrincham, however traffic on this route ceased in 1985 and as such, Latchford became a stub used for run rounds and reversals of freight traffic that needed to serve the line to Ditton, the vast majority of this was coal for Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, located five miles to the west, diving directly under Warrington Bank Quay station en route."
"We’re sure you will enjoy spending time driving trains in and around Warrington, though we’d also recommend taking time to do some spotting, you’ll see a whole range of traffic in the area, including passenger and parcels trains, light engine and shunt moves plus a variety of freight traffic, including both coal and steel trains, each of which require shunting in the Warrington area, trip freights also run from the yards at Warrington, with Over and Wharton, near Winsford an example of one of these destinations."
That was a proper mint update from from Just Trains! If you're hungry for more, check out their dev blog on the Just Trains website!
We have a couple of shorter updates from TSG on their current projects, starting with Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg - Ingolstadt. The route is now complete, so the team at TSG will be looking to show it off next month along with seeing the München - Nürnberg - Express in action!
Originally announced during the December 2025 Season of Reveals, Neckartalbahn: Heidelberg - Neckarelz was met with curiosity and excitement over the return of a much requested loco-type since the last appearance in TSW4; steam!
In addition to the BR 23, TSG are happy to confirm a backdated BR 140 will also be included with the route.
We look forward to further updates from Team TSG in the coming months!
We shared an update last week from Incredible Trains' Johannes, who gave us some insight on the progress of his current project. In case you missed it, here's what was shared:
Johannes: "After what has been quite a chaotic year for me personally, balancing work on Birmingham to Crewe alongside finishing my degree, I’m pleased to say that I’m now back to full-time TSW development."
"With that, I can finally report some solid progress on the extension to the Mildmay line route Add-on. I’ve included a few screenshots of Richmond Station to showcase the work completed so far on the station, which is starting to come together nicely."
"I can also confirm that, for players who own both Great Western Express and the BR Class 484 DLC, there will be drivable Class 484 services appearing on the route. These will be reskinned into London Underground livery, similar to the implementation seen on Great Western Express."
"One of the long-standing issues with the route: passenger spawning, has now finally been resolved. After a lot of investigation, I discovered that the route was using too many dioramas, and due to a core issue, these were preventing passengers from spawning correctly. I’ve now worked around this by duplicating the relevant dioramas into the Mildmay line route Add-on and locally removing the problematic code. This fix will be included as part of the extension."
"While most of my recent work has focused on scenery and station development, my next steps will be to begin implementing TSW 6 features, as well as ironing out the remaining bugs that are still present across the route."
"I’m feeling confident that development is now in a strong position, and I’m aiming to have the extension ready fairly soon so that you can all get your hands on it."
"Finally, do keep an eye on future updates! I’ll soon be able to share details on another project I’ve been working on over the past few months."
Work on Rhein-Niers Bahn is progressing well with the team now shifting focus to the freight aspect of the route, including industrial branch lines as well as detailed yards and the freight bypass line between Rheydt and Viersen.
The team are getting into the final stages of development, which includes gameplay and the timetable. The timetable itself is close to completion, but the team are still looking into creating interesting scenarios that bring out the charm of this industrial yet busy route.
We're very excited to show you more from the FolezzWorld team in future, who are working very hard to create a truly interesting route!
We haven't got any updates to share this month for the following add-ons, but they are still progressing well with their respective development teams. We'll share more info on these soon!
BNSF Snoot Nose SD40-2 from Adamovic Productions
WCML: Milton Keynes - Crewe from All Aboard Studios
Freightliner BR Class 70
Lisbon Setúbal from VirtuaVia360
Cumbrian Coast: Carlisle - Whitehaven from Just Trains
DB BR 420 from TSG
Today we’re back to talk more about the current status around key improvements and insights about the TSW experience as a whole, where we’ve come in the last month, and a summary of how we’re continuing to support the growth of recent releases, and the title, for the future ahead.
Here’s a quick overview of what we’re covering:
Next Steps for Add-on Mounting updates
Positive progress on Blurred Texture improvements
Improvements coming to the BR Class 90 and Medway Valley Line Add-ons
Add-on Mounting & Blurred Textures
These two issues have been the primary focus of our State of the Game updates so far this year, and thankfully we’re starting to see positive progress fall into our recent add-ons.
Starting firstly with Add-on Mounting, this was intended to release alongside the DB BR 147 last week, however, due to the release being delayed, we’re also looking at how these changes are impacted, and working further on making sure these are implemented as we expect. They won’t align with the DB BR 147’s new release date on April 9th, and instead we’ll continue to look for a suitable window once we’ve concluded testing the changes. The goal with these improvements remains to be lowering the size of dependant content when loading add-ons to avoid hitting the platform limitations on PS5 and help with smart content loading optimisation.
Let’s talk Blurred Textures – looking at our recent add-ons releases, we’ve had great positive results! Whilst the team are continuing to work on improvements that help resolve issues that appear in existing routes/add-ons, we’ve seen almost no reports of blurred textures across all of the 5 releases in March, which is a really positive indicator that the optimisation process we’ve implemented since identifying the issue is helping prevent them from appearing.
In our past State of Game updates, we’ve talked about how these updates are something we need to assess individually for released content, so it’s not a simple core-fix we can update, but seeing the positive progress on recent releases is giving us a good sign that we’ll be on track to help resolve and improvement other areas that are affected.
As a note, we thank you all for the patience whilst we’re continuing our work to ensure that we can keep supporting releases, both existing and new, to a high visual quality that you expect.
BR Class 90 – Feedback and Post-release Improvements
Today we’d like to share an update from both our team and Alan Thomson Simulation regarding recent community feedback on the BR Class 90 Add-on, along with our plan for the next round of improvements and the expected timeline for these updates.
We want to acknowledge the feedback that players have shared since release and thank everyone who has taken the time to report issues and provide constructive comments through our community channels. Your feedback has been invaluable in helping us prioritise the areas that require attention.
The teams are currently working towards two stages of improvements, each with a different timeframe:
Short-term Hotfix Focused on addressing key immediate issues, including a fix for acknowledging AWS / DSD when using controller inputs.
Longer-term Update This update will incorporate broader player feedback and is currently planned to address timetable improvements, Class 90 audio refinements, and issues relating to collision and coupling behaviour.
We appreciate the continued support for the BR Class 90 and the detailed feedback provided so far. While we are not yet in a position to confirm exact release dates for either update, we will share confirmed timings through our usual community channels as soon as they are available.
Last week we also shared an update from both our team, and the Firefly Simulation group, discussing the PS5 audio being inaudible/lower than expected for the Medway Valley Line Add-on, and sharing our current progress.
The team identified that some elements of the 375 audio seemed to be playing at an much lower volume than intended (~1%) on the PlayStation. It wasn’t missing entirely, but due to the low volume, it can appear as if the sounds aren’t playing. For players on PC (Steam and Epic Games) and Xbox platforms, the audio is working as intended.
The Firefly team have attempted a number of fixes since the launch last week, including a build we submitted to Sony, none of which have proven successful in addressing the problem. Due to the audio being present (despite being a lower volume), diagnosing the issue is taking longer to fully understand and rectify, particularly given other platforms are working as intended, but we wanted to share that they’re working closely with their audio technician and with the support of our team, including the executive producer Matt, to help find a solution as soon as possible.
We can’t commit to an ETA for the improvement, but the team are working hard so that this be delivered the moment we can resolve and test the fix, and we’ll work closely with Firefly to ensure we can support the update and share more news as it comes.
Dovetail Games and Firefly Simulations would like to thank all those who’ve supported the Medway Valley Line with positive and constructive feedback, and we’re grateful you those on PlayStation who are waiting patiently for the audio improvement.
In addition to the Class 90 & Medway Valley line add-ons, our teams are also reviewing community feedback for all of March’s releases to support future patches and requested improvements.
We released a patch for Frankenbahn: Stuttgart - Heilbronn which included an important timetable update alongside some changes to improve your gameplay experience, such as onboard announcements being added to the BR 423, lighting improvements and various fixes to the PIS system across the route.
Check out the full changelog for all the details, and please continue giving us feedback across community platforms.
We also have our next core update for TSW6 coming in the next couple weeks, and we'll confirm a full changelog of improvements with you all ahead of the release. We'll continue to address further community feedback for Add-on releases and core improvements closer to the time of the patch release.

You may have seen that over the Easter Weekend, a group of content creators got together to complete a full relay race on Train Sim World 6 and Train Simulator Classic. The journey started at London Victoria on the Chatham Main Line in Train Simulator Classic. If you haven't seen it, you can watch the whole thing on YouTube via RichyRail's channel.
The group start their journey southeast with The Flying Southerner taking the reins with a Class 707 stopper to Orpington. Next, was the British Ace who took us on a quick sprint down towards Tonbridge.
At Tonbridge, the journey began the Train Sim World section of the relay race. We were first treated to some DRS Class 20 and Rail Operations Group Class 37 action towards Maidstone from Casual Rail. The ROG Class 37 was then taken charge by TrainSimulatorDriver who continued throughout the remainder of the Medway Valley Line in Train Sim World 6.
From Strood, the relay race then went towards Dartford with TygerWays taking a Class 465 on an interesting service along SouthEastern High Speed. After this, JasonPFC took us back to Rochester in a pink Thameslink Class 700 - I guess you could call it ThamesPINK!
From Rochester, RexTactics took control of another Class 465 on an express service towards Faversham. And, at the end of night, RichyRail continued on Train Simulator Classic towards Dover Priory doing a Javelin ‘test run’.
The whole event contained chaos from start to finish and lasted over 5 hours! And, in future we hope to get more creators involved in these relay races across many routes in Train Sim World and Train Simulator Classic!
The whole event contained chaos from start to finish and lasted over 5 hours! The gang hope to get more creators involved in these relay races across many routes in Train Sim World and Train Simulator Classic!
