Hello There!
Thank you all for your continuous support and patience!
Today, the brand-new version of Toy Smash Kaboom! is live, and our fifth character, the Frost Hunter, has joined the toy house alongside her companions from the frozen wilds!
This update introduces a new character, two distinct classes, and dozens of new items and recipes. Additionally, the highly anticipated Replay and Ban features are now live.
To celebrate this update, Toy Smash Kaboom! and DLC will be running a limited-time -30% discount from July 16 at 4:00 PM UTC to July 23 at 4:00 PM UTC!
At the same time, our new bundle with Wretch: Divine Ascent is now available. If you own either game, you can enjoy an additional -10% discount when purchasing the other.
Now, let's dive into the highlights of this major update!
New Hero & New Items
If you caught our previous sneak peeks, this new face will look very familiar.
She is both a legendary hunter from the Ice Age and a water magic master capable of manipulating the elements to freeze everything in her path.
Among the beast toys she commands, you will find fierce prehistoric giants like Mammoths, Dinosaurs, and Bears, as well as adorable creatures tied to snow and the water element, such as Slimes and Penguins.
Just like our existing heroes, the Frost Hunter comes with two completely distinct classes.
Beast Tamer
The Beast Tamer relies primarily on Beast-type summons and toys capable of applying the Sharp effect.
Beast summons excel at absorbing frontline damage. They can also inflict Wounds on enemies through the Sharp effect, continuously scaling up their own damage output based on the number of wounds.
Her starting slot, Beast Space, grants summons placed within it the Lifesteal effect, converting a portion of the damage dealt during combat into health to significantly boost their sustain.
Additionally, her other two initial items, the Horn and the Fossil, serve as key crafting materials for multiple beast recipes.
Frost Maiden
Frost Maiden leans heavily into ice magic, controlling the battlefield by inflicting enemies with Slow and her class-exclusive Freeze effect.
Her starting inventory includes a Water Element Wand, a Snowball, and a Slime.
Her starting slot, Freezing Space, gives enemy summons a chance to enter the Freeze state after accumulating multiple stacks of Slow, disrupting their attacks.
While magic is her signature trait, the presence of Slime allows this class to build massive swarm armies on the battlefield.
Slimes, classic fantasy creatures who work as jelly-like or puddle monsters, possess the iconic ability to split, and they retain this trait in Toy Smash Kaboom!. Certain mid-to-high tier slimes will split into smaller slimes upon being defeated, continuing to cause trouble for your opponent.
Furthermore, slimes belong to the Water type, making them easy to create synergies with ice magic, related summons, and water-element buff effect areas.
Of course, Slimes don't just rely on numbers. When a Slime fuses with a Snowman, it gains enhanced tenacity and a hardened ice shell that shields it from damage, evolving into an Ice Golem.
The Ice Golem has high HP, applies multiple stacks of Slow with every attack, and has a chance to trigger the Freeze effect.
Dozens of New Toys Added
Alongside the new character and classes, dozens of brand-new toy items have been added to the game. Beyond building synergetic setups for the Beast Tamer and Frost Maiden, you can also leverage these new toys to experiment with entirely different lineups.
For instance, the newly added Panda Hero belongs to the Beast type, but its skills revolve around the Rage effect. As a melee summon, it synergizes well with various common items and is by no means restricted to Frost Hunter builds.
Players who love Clockwork-type toys can try out the new neutral summon, the Pirate Parrot. Adding it to your existing clockwork lineup will unlock fresh recipes and combat combinations.
To welcome our fifth character, we have introduced new functionalities and adjusted the balance of existing toy items:
New Features
Item Ban Feature:
You can now ban specific items during a match. By right-clicking an item, you can click the ban icon in the top-right corner of its card. Currently, you can ban up to two toy items per match. The first ban is free, and the second costs 3 Gold. Banned items can be viewed via the banned items list located at the top-right of the shop.
Combat Replay Feature:
You can now click "Replay" after a match concludes to re-watch the thrilling showdown between both lineups. Due to battle randomness, replay results may differ from the original outcome. But the original match result will always remain unchanged.
This feature is also available in the History section, accessible by clicking your player profile in the top-left corner of the main menu.
