Eight years ago, on April 12, 2018, we finally opened the doors to the Tower. We invited you to slow down time, master the battlefield, and uncover the secrets of a dying world. Since then, our community has grown beyond our wildest expectations, carrying us from the depths of the Tower to the war-torn lands of Dark Envoy.

Hello Community!

We've just pushed a small hotfix to address several issues, focusing on stability, UI presentation, and key moments in the game. Thanks for your reports, and happy dungeoneering!

What's Included in this Hotfix:

• Fixed keybinding in settings on Windows (PC): PC players should now be able to properly set and save their keybindings in the settings menu.

• Final Battle UI/UX Improvements (Steam Deck/Gamepad on PC):

  • Fixed overlapping skills icons and character portraits during the final battle (Steam Deck).

  • Fixed unclickable dialogs displayed during the final battle (Steam Deck/Gamepad).

• Battle Summary Fixes: Improved the navigation and layout of the battle summary panel on Steam Deck, and fixed some instances where parts of the battle summary were missing.

• Cinematic UI Fixes: Fixed some parts of the UI that were incorrectly displayed during cut-scenes on Steam Deck.

It’s been over 8 years since we first launched Tower of Time in early access on Steam, and we've been overwhelmed by the incredible support and passion you've shown for our game. Your love for the world of Artara has kept it alive, and we’ve been listening closely to your feedback all this time.

We wanted to give back some of that love you've shown us, so we've been hard at work to make Tower of Time more accessible and enjoyable than ever before!

We couldn't be more happy to announce that with this update Tower of Time is now officially:

• Steam Deck Verified: Take your adventure on the go! The game is now fully optimized for the Steam Deck, so you can explore the Tower anywhere, anytime.

• Gamepad Support: We've added full gamepad support, giving players who prefer a controller over a keyboard and mouse a seamless and intuitive way to play on PC.

• Ultrawide Monitor Support (21:9): Immerse yourself even further in the detailed world of Artara with support for ultrawide resolutions.

We're thrilled to announce that Tower of Time has received an official update to its Steam Deck compatibility status, moving from "Unknown" to "Playable"! This means you can now take your epic journey through Tower of Time with you wherever you roam, experiencing its tactical combat and deep narrative on Valve's portable device! This opens up the game to a whole new audience of handheld gamers. But that's not all. To celebrate this exciting verification, a massive sale is kicking off tonight. For a limited time, you can grab Tower of Time at a discount!

What does "Playable" mean for your Steam Deck experience? "Playable" indicates that Tower of Time runs great on the Steam Deck, with a few minor considerations that in our opinion won't hinder your enjoyment. Our detailed testing results confirm:

• Smooth Performance: The game's default graphics configuration performs exceptionally well on the Steam Deck, delivering crisp visuals and stable frame rates, ensuring a captivating experience.

• Added an option for the cursor to be locked to the game window. It can be toggled in settings → display.
• Multiple small performance improvements, especially on lower tier hardware.
• Target framerate can no longer be decreased below 30 fps.
• Added VSync setting.
• Fixed various problems with loading saves from previous versions.
• Audio banks loading should take considerably less time.
• Substantially improved level loading times.

• Neutral summoned units no longer reveal fog of war for the player.
• Re-rolling item modifiers during item crafting now works properly.
• The player can no longer move the camera during cutscenes.
• Some unit statistic values have been renamed, and the values shown have been fixed.

Exploration of an Intriguing World

• Fixed achievements on Linux -- now working properly
• Fixed few very small bugs -- e.g. effect of the fountains not visible immediately
• Rebalancing of the difficulty -- enemy units, items, skills, battle parameters as number of enemies, spawn frequency, frequency of skills used, etc.. As a result there shouldn’t be any spikes in difficulty levels when moving between Tower levels. Still – when you outgrow current difficulty level (by building a real kick-ass party) – we highly recommend increasing difficulty during the game. You can do it anytime outside combat.
• Visual upgrade of some skills -- one example below:
