We’ve got some great news to share as we’ve just launched a major FREE update for Tormented Souls 2!
Centred around a challenging ‘New Game Plus’ mode, additional content includes tougher enemies, deadly new weapons, more secrets, and even a bonus costume for Caroline! Read on to find out what’s in store…
Unlocked immediately after completing the game for the first time, ‘New Game Plus’ ratchets up the tension by increasing both the enemy count and adding even more jumpscares! Fortunately for Caroline, this mode also introduces two new weapons. The ‘Electric Lance’ is an experimental device that delivers a lethal shock at close-range, while the highly volatile ‘Flamethrower’ sets Caroline’s enemies ablaze in spectacular fashion!
While playing through ‘New Game Plus’, Caroline should keep a close eye out for ‘Nuclear Batteries’. These twelve collectable items are scattered across Villa Hess, and rumour has it that collecting them all will unlock the secret of the strange mechanical device that has mysteriously appeared in front of the town’s ruined Train Station. But there’s more! By achieving the ‘true’ ending of ‘New Game Plus’ players will be treated to a special ending that pays homage to the series’ classic survival horror roots.
To reflect the challenge of the mode, Caroline can now unlock a ‘New Game Plus’ specific bonus costume, which really emphasises her excellent ‘bone structure’. Players will find this fun outfit in the wardrobe of the Convent Guest Room after completing a 'New Game Plus' run-through (on any difficulty) where they have also solved the nuclear batteries puzzle and obtained the 'true ending'.
This new content is also now live on all platforms 😎
2025 was an amazing year for us having reached the incredible milestone of over 100,000 units sold within the first 6 weeks of release! We even picked up some award nominations in the process including:
Game of the Year at The Horror Game Awards
Best Latin American Indie at the The Indie Game Awards
Horror Game of the Year at the LATAM Indie Awards
Standout release at the Latin American Games Showcase: The Game Awards Edition
To celebrate everything that Tormented Souls 2 accomplished thanks to your support we've released an ‘Accolades Trailer’ showcasing Caroline at her finest, set against the epic end-credits track ‘Open Your Heart’ by series composer NyxTheShield.
We really hope you enjoy the new content!

Should you encounter any other issues while playing please post them here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2464280/discussions/0/678482693017586786/We aim to have this patch live across all other platforms by 2nd December and thank you again for your patience while we squashed the outstanding bugs on Steam.
The team will now be focusing on a free content update that will include the much requested New Game Plus as well as some deadly new weapons to experiment with! We'll be able to share more news about this in the coming weeks 😎
Dual Effect & PQubeThank you for your patience as we worked through all of your feedback and bug reports over the past few weeks 🙏 Following a short beta period we have now rolled out patch 1.3.2 which should address over 60 issues including the softlocks that have been frustrating players since launch.
IMPORTANT: During the beta period we were made aware of two instances of persisting softlocks in 1.3.2:
Issue 1: Sometimes the main cemetery (tomb dials) puzzle does not trigger correctly after it is completed.
Solution: Ensure that you save in the Cemetery Office immediately after entering the cemetery area for the first time. If you encounter the softlock issue reloading the Cemetery Office save should clear the bug.
Issue 2: In rare instances, fuse items placed in the School Generator Room or held in the players inventory in v1.2 are disappearing in v1.3.2. We are investigating why this is happening.
Solution: For some players collecting the fuse items from the fuse box and saving in v1.2 before switching over to v1.3.2 resolves the issue.
As an extra precaution we are keeping the v1.2 of the game live on a separate public beta branch so that players can revert to this version if need be. You can access the branch as follows:
1. Right click on the Tormented Souls 2 app in your Steam library.
2. Select ‘properties’.
3. Select ‘betas’ from the left-hand menu.
4. Click on the ‘beta participation’ dropdown and select ‘rollback_1.2.0'

Dual Effect & PQube
The wait is finally over for classic survival horror fans as Tormented Souls 2 is out today and everyone can enjoy a 10% launch discount until 6th November 2025!
We've also got our epic launch trailer to share with you which throws Caroline into the heart of the horror, revealing as yet unseen locations within the decaying town of Villa Hess as well as the twisted menagerie of new enemies that she will face while searching for her missing sister, Anna. With the stakes higher than ever, Caroline must call upon the aid of some unlikely allies and assemble a deadly arsenal of improvised weapons in order to survive. But as the inexorable darkness spreads, the boundaries between reality and the hellish ‘Other Side’ begin to blur, revealing a greater terror that threatens to destroy the entire world.
Situated in a remote region of southern Chile, the small community of Villa Hess is maintained by its local mining and fishing industries, with many livelihoods dependent on the exports of the nearby Wildberger & Hess Fish Processing Plant. As such, the isolated community lives hand-to-mouth, turning to Mother Lucia and her secretive sisterhood for spiritual guidance during difficult periods.
Following Anna’s abduction, Caroline awakens to find the town eerily empty and is forced to navigate her way through some truly unsettling environments. From the faded splendour of Lucia’s Convent, to the decrepit amusements of the Galeria Luna Shopping Mall, through the imposing mausoleums of the Cemetery, to the echoing corridors of the abandoned High School.
While exploring, Caroline soon discovers that she is not alone as the corrupted inhabitants of the town reveal themselves. Tortured fanatics and quadrupedal bladed horrors stalk the shadows, as barnacle-encrusted abominations skitter through ventilation ducts. But beyond reality in the ‘Other Side’ lie the greatest threats, beings of immense power that will require more than firepower alone to overcome.
Fortunately, Caroline will have a greatly expanded range of weapons at her disposal. The Automatic Nailer can unleash a steady stream of razor-sharp rounds while the lethal triple-barreled Hand Cannon will stop even the biggest creatures in their tracks. Caroline can also take advantage of the new quick select feature that allows her to switch weapons in the heat of battle, as well as new upgrade components to strengthen her arsenal further.
Following the sisters’ arrival at the Convent, Mother Lucia quickly springs her trap, revealing the sinister covenant that she has sworn with their grandfather, Noah Morrisette. But just what exactly does Lucia plan to do with Anna, and why has Caroline’s body been pierced all over with crude needles?
The mystery only deepens when Caroline encounters Joseph, a warlock searching for an ancient book of the dead, and Miguel, an ex-soldier on a top-secret mission for the US government. Both men have their fair share of dark secrets, but with nowhere else to turn, Caroline must form uneasy alliances to uncover the truth.
Enjoy the melancholy melodies of NyxTheShield with a curated collection of music from the Tormented Souls 2 Original Soundtrack. Listen for free on YouTube and purchase the full 52 track album on Steam.
I think you’d all agree that classic survival horror is alive and well thanks to some truly brilliant indie gems, and so we’ve teamed up with our friends at SFB Games, Headware Games, RED SOUL GAMES, and Invader Studios to bring you a selection of excellent value 'complete the set' bundles!

Don’t be deceived by the whimsical surroundings, something is awfully wrong in Crow Country.
Hollowbody - It's a Shipper's biggest fear. You're grounded in the exclusion zone, twenty miles of death and decay sealed off by the towering, suffocating walls erected after the collapse. Alone, stranded, and with limited resources at your disposal you'll have to push your way through the zone, solve environmental puzzles, manage resources and fight for your life as you try to find a way to escape beyond the wall.
👁️ The Torment & Trauma Bundle

Inspired by key staples of the Survival Horror genre, Post Trauma blends fixed camera angles with stunning visuals through Unreal Engine 5 to create a truly unsettling, yet familiar horror experience. But just when you think you have the answers, this hellscape changes the questions as you enter the unknown to face your greatest fears.
☣️ The Classic Survival Horror Feels Bundle
Daymare: 1998 - A third-person survival horror with hardcore survival mechanics and hard to kill enemies. It requires a strategical approach to combat and puzzles and offers a multi-character point of view on the story, revealing a deep and obscure lore.

As we’re now only 1 month away from release, the countdown to launch has officially begun! 😱
To mark the imminent arrival of Tormented Souls 2 we thought we’d do something fun and share a sneak peak of the bonus outfits that can be unlocked for Caroline by completing each of the main three difficulty modes as well as confirm the much-requested option to switch her default outfit to the trench coat and combat fatigues that were teased during announcement back in 2023!
To continue the theme of Caroline’s eclectic wardrobe, we’ll also be releasing two unique outfits that can be purchased separately at launch as part of a ‘Digital Deluxe Edition’. Of course this DLC content is entirely cosmetic and is designed for players that either want more options without having to first beat the game, or would simply like to show a little bit more support for our team and their future projects 🙏
We know that our community is super passionate about Caroline so we hope you’ll enjoy seeing all the different options for her in-game look!
With this announcement we can now finally reveal that the Steam price for Tormented Souls 2 will be:

Name: 'Carabinero'
Lay down the law in style with this fetching tribute to the police officers of our beautiful home country, Chile!
Unlock conditions: Complete the game on normal mode or higher

* Tormented mode is locked until you complete the game on normal mode.
There will also be a few more bonus extras to unlock at the end of the game, but we’ll let you discover them for yourselves at launch!
Name: 'Classic Caroline'
Despite everything that happened at the Wildberger Hospital, Caroline couldn’t quite bring herself to throw out her favourite floral dress and leather jacket. It took a few washes to get the bloodstains out though…
Name: 'Rebel biker'
An outfit that Caroline borrowed from a fellow red-headed motorcycle enthusiast currently searching for her brother somewhere in the US.
If you want to swap Caroline’s outfit, simply interact with the wardrobe in the Convent - Guest Room at the very start of the game. All unlocked outfits and DLC items will be neatly arranged, ready for your perusal.
That’s all for today but we’ll be back with more news soon as we lead up to launch on 23rd October 2025 🚀
Thanks as always for the love and support!
Dual Effect and PQube
To celebrate the rapidly-approaching release of our chilling throwback to classic survival horror, we’ve partnered with the Future Games Show at Gamescom 2025 to showcase a pulse-pounding new gameplay trailer, and reveal first details of the monstrous bosses that Caroline will encounter while exploring the hellish ‘Other side’ of Villa Hess.
⚠️⚠️WARNING! Spoilers for Tormented Souls ahead! ⚠️⚠️
In the wake of her sister Anna’s traumatic abduction at the hands of Mother Lucia and her twisted cult, Caroline Walker finds herself trapped deep within the walls of a maze-like convent. With the darkness closing in, Caroline is unexpectedly reacquainted with her old friend, the pneumatic nailer, and so begins a desperate struggle to escape the unholy place. But once free of the convent, the true horror of the secluded Villa Hess reveals itself and Caroline must again call upon her supernatural abilities to travel to the town’s mysterious ‘Other side’ and face the formidable creatures that await within…
In the original Tormented Souls it was Caroline’s latent supernatural powers that allowed her to utilise mirrors and video tapes to traverse between alternate realities and timelines to ultimately save Anna from her cruel fate.
In Tormented Souls 2, Caroline will continue to embrace these powers as she steps into Villa Hess’ mysterious ‘Other side’ and ‘replays’ memories stored on video tapes. Crucially Caroline’s actions in these locations will directly affect the current timeline in Villa Hess, while revealing more about the town’s dark history.
Only the foulest and most dangerous creatures reside within the ‘Other side’ and Caroline must be extra vigilant when exploring this twisted new reality. Deadliest of all are beings of immense power that have gorged on the misery and corruption that envelops the region.
Wielding a huge crucifix and protected by a heavy plated mask, the Iron Maiden is a hulking behemoth and cruel disciplinarian who administers punishment amongst the convent’s sisterhood.
Meanwhile, deep beneath the stinking halls of the Wildberger & Hess Fish Processing Plant sleeps The Harvester, a terrifying fusion of twisted metal and scorched flesh. Armed with a lethal buzzsaw and gaping maw filled with razor sharp teeth, this subterranean horror seems impervious to all but the heaviest of weapons.
Until next time!

Following the harrowing events at Wildberger Hospital, Caroline Walker hopes for a normal life with her sister, Anna. Yet in the months that follow, Anna is haunted by visions of violence and death, compelling her to create disturbing drawings that rapidly manifest into horrifying reality.
Desperate to free her of this affliction, Caroline travels to the remote town of Villa Hess and a mysterious clinic nestled deep within the mountains of southern Chile. But behind the warm smiles of the facility’s serene staff lies a sickening truth, and the sisters soon find themselves at the center of an entirely new nightmare…
This first playable demo features roughly 60 minutes of gameplay, beginning with the sisters' long journey to Villa Hess and their arrival at the convent-turned-clinic as recommended by Caroline’s long-standing friend and psychiatrist, Isabella. Greeted by the cheerful Sister Angelica, a member of the convent’s secretive sisterhood, the pair seem initially at ease. But during the night Caroline wakes to find Anna missing and following the sounds of her screaming, rushes headfirst into the horrifying scene of her sister’s abduction. Trapped in a stranglehold, Caroline begins to lose consciousness as the sisterhood’s matriarch, Mother Lucia reveals her plan to capture the Wildberger twins and continue the unthinkable work of their grandfather, Noah…
Coming around in the convent’s infirmary, Caroline must now navigate the claustrophobic passageways of the convent in search of her missing sister. But as she ventures deeper into the shadowy facility, she soon discovers that she is not alone and that an ancient evil calls from below…
As many of our fans will know, Tormented Souls was initially conceived as a love letter to the iconic third-person survival horror titles of the 90s and early 00s. These games shared some fairly outlandish plots as well as memorable protagonists whose designs effortlessly combined B-movie horror aesthetics with the eye-catching fashion trends of the time. Looking back on Claire Redfield’s Queen-quoting biker jackets in Resident Evil 2 and Code Veronica and Aya Brea’s none-more-nineties denim in Parasite Eve II got us thinking about our design for Caroline Walker in Tormented Souls 2. Had we moved too far away from our influences? Would Caroline’s silhouette still be recognizable? What would Caroline think about her militaristic, combat-ready new look?
These questions led us to revisit her design once more, going over and picking out all the key details of her outfit from the original game, and seeking to ‘evolve’ her look for the sequel. The most important point was that following the events of the first game, Caroline has grown up. She’s very much in BIG SISTER mode now, and so needs to look suitably mature. This is reflected in her color palette, with the blood red of her dress contrasting dramatically with the scuffed leather of her jacket, which conveniently helps to pick her out of the multitude of dark environments that she’ll be exploring throughout the game.
We also wanted to retain elements of her design so as to keep her silhouette relatively consistent between games. This meant bringing back the dress and jacket combo, as well as Caroline’s taste for floral patterns, bows, and leather. Some of you might remember the evolution of The Prince’s design from Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to Warrior Within. Across games, he retained his flowing sash, chunky arm bracers, and loose-fitting trousers, but undeniably looks more bad-ass in the sequel. This is very much the approach we took with Caroline’s new look, and we hope our players will enjoy the familiarity it now brings! Also bonus points for anyone who noticed the Alice Abernathy reference 😉
We hope you’ll enjoy stepping back into the world of Tormented Souls once more. If you do have any feedback about the demo or encounter any bugs please do add your comments to this thread.
Tomorrow, June 7th we’ll also be featuring in the Latin American Games Showcase with a new story teaser trailer. You can watch live from 11am PT / 7pm BST via Twitch and YouTube.
Enjoy!
