Hello everyone,
Hope you are all doing well, I am happy to announce that the game is now available on both Android and iOS for those who wish to play on Mobile!
The game has undergone some UI changes to make it more natural for phones, however the content is exactly the same.
Thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy the mobile version if you wish to pick it up :)
Hey everyone,
I’m still blown away by the positive response. The game has sold over 85,000 copies and holds an 88% positive rating.
With the success I’ve seen, I wanted to make the game accessible to even more players. I’m excited to share that This Ain’t Even Poker Ya Joker is coming to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store on March 19th! If you want, you can pre-order starting today! I have played the game myself earlier this week and I'm happy to say that it is really fun to play!Again, thank you all for the support!
Added a new slider in settings for object SFX volume
Improved resiliency of save files to help prevent corruption if you happen to lose power or crash during a save
Fixed a typo in Japanese causing the "Play a Royal Flush" quest objective and achievement to have no text
Added an abandon button to claimed quests so you can reroll them even after accepting
Added a claim all button to the top of the achievements screen.
Note that it only claims the current tier of achievements, so you still may have to press it multiple times to truly claim everything.
Increased the font size for tooltips by 25%.
32:9 ultrawide is now handled with black bars so that you can still play the game and access settings and such. Apologies for the oversight to all of the 32:9 users out there for missing that on launch!
This does mean if you've changed your resolution you may have to do so again after updating
Pressing esc now toggles the settings UI, so just in case you can't access it you can always use the hotkey
Fixed an issue preventing you from getting the final achievement if you close the dialog too quickly
Fixed a typo in Chinese Simplified & Chinese Traditional
Better edge case handling in the case of any autosave failures that may occur
Hello everyone,
I am happy to announce This Ain't Even Poker, Ya Joker is now available on Steam! Prepare to face Lester the Jester in this poker-inspired (...but this ain't even poker?) incremental/idle/clicker game.
You start out small, by flipping a single card to earn some coins, then quickly grow by spending those coins to buy more cards and more hands to flip, discovering new cards that give huge bonuses, destroying unwanted cards to improve your odds of hitting good hands and much more.
Once you earn enough coins, you'll meet Mary the Fairy to help you ascend and get even more powerful upgrades like merging expeditions, joker cards, new suits, values, rarities, and more in a separate upgrade tree in exchange for poker chips, which you must trade in everything you own to earn.
Finally, after you earn enough poker chips and unlock many powerful upgrades, you'll begin the final phase of the game, introducing yet another powerful upgrade tree, allowing you to use Runes to empower your cards in order to defeat the Jester.
I had a blast developing the game and I hope you have a blast playing it! Good luck in there with Lester! Don't forget, he's not a Joker, he's a Jester!
Hello everyone,
I am happy to announce that This Ain’t Even Poker, Ya Joker will be launching right here on Steam on December 11th! There are 3 main phases throughout the game, each unlocking new mechanics allowing you to progress further and further. The demo version of the game, which is now offline, featured the 1st phase.
Phase-based progression: Work your way through stages that introduce new mechanics in order to defeat the Jester and escape the carnival.
Expeditions: Find new otherworldly cards on exploration expeditions, or remove cards from your deck with destruction expeditions
Upgrades: Throughout the game there are several upgrade trees allowing you to improve your cards abilities to earn more money.
Ascension: Meet Mary the Fairy, who teaches you how to ascend in exchange for poker chips. Spend those chips to buy extremely powerful upgrades and bonuses to help you slip out of the Jester’s grip.
Quests & Achievements: Unlock quests and achievements, allowing you to supplement your earnings to quickly grow your coins.
Joker Cards: Unlock the Joker Shop to buy Joker Cards that pair with your decks and open up new ways to reach even bigger payouts.
Card Merging: Unlock merging expeditions, allowing you to combine cards to create even stronger versions and set up wild, over-the-top synergies.
Powerful Upgrades: Unlock new suits, values, rarities and even entirely new Poker Hands (5 of a kind? how is that even possible?) by ascending, allowing you to even further boost your earnings.
Rune upgrades: Find runes, then spend them to upgrade your cards to give yourself a fighting chance against the Jester.
