An issue affecting the functionality of the German Shorthaired Pointer DLC is now patched up.
Thank you to everyone who reported the issue to our team!
With this patch, we have also updated the Known Issues list.
Relevant species from Intisuyu Hunting Reserve have now been added to the codex entries for Game Feeders.
On Medved Taiga National Park, the second objective for the mission Federal Ecoservice #5 now displays in the UI.
On Intisuyu Hunting Reserve, we fixed an issue where you could complete the mission Brother’s Tall Tale #3 by shooting any animal in the heart, even non-Caimans.
On Intisuyu Hunting Reserve, we fixed an issue on the mission Brother’s Tall Tale #3 where you were required to kill with a single shot to the heart.
On Intisuyu Hunting Reserve, the mission Brother’s Gift can now be completed by taxidermizing a Great One.
Addressed an issue where the game could crash if someone in a Multiplayer session was being attacked by a Jaguar.
Fixed several issues with the way the game allocates memory.
Taxidermizing Old Scar will now result in a trophy with her unique fur variation.
To make up for the bug with Old Scar’s trophy having an incorrect model:
People who have taxidermized her before this patch will retain the pseudo-melanistic trophy.
Anyone who previously completed the mission will have a new trophy of her added to their trophy collection. So even if you forgot to taxidermize her, you will still get a free trophy.
A moment of silence for all the odd and beloved creatures you've encountered. We have patched the issue that would sometimes make your harvests look "low-poly" in the Harvest Screen. Gone, but not forgotten.
Fixed an issue where the Dahler Reverse Draw CB-150 and its associated ammunitions were unlocked with the purchase of Weapon Pack 1.
If you purchased Peru Hunting Reserve, the Crossbow Sight for the Dahler Reverse Draw CB-150 will now be unlocked.
Fixed an issue where the game would frequently crash on the Harvest Screen.
Come along for an adventure in Intisuyu, a thrilling new DLC map located in Peru! Hunt many unique species from capybaras to tapirs across 3 distinct biomes: Andes foothills, cloud forests, and dense river jungles. But stay on guard because you’re in jaguar territory.
Hunt 10 unique new animals, for 14 species total across the reserve. This includes a new Great One Jaguar and even an exclusive mission Jaguar.
Full animal roster ( * = new ): South American Tapir*, Ocelot*, Greater Grison*, Western Mountain Coati*, Vicuña*, Capybara*, Spectacled Bear*, Jaguar* (with new Great One!), Black Caiman*, Taruca*, Whitetail Deer, Cinnamon Teal, Collared Peccary, and Puma.

Sport the new crossbow, Dahler Reverse Draw CB-150, as you stealth your way through the jungle. This reverse draw pistol crossbow is the first of its kind in-game and is perfect for quietly taking down small to medium game at short ranges. Try it at night, if you dare!

With the release of Peru Hunting Reserve comes a new patch for everyone.
Hunt 10 new animals, for 14 species total across Andean foothills, through misty cloud forests, to dense river jungles, giving you 3 distinct biomes.
Explore Peru through 60 new story missions, including the mission-exclusive Old Scar Jaguar. The Notice Board allows to choose how you want to spend your time in Intisuyu, whether it’s by hunting, exploration, or volunteering at the Animal Sanctuary. Peru also comes with a new crossbow, the Dahler Reverse Draw CB-150.
Full animal roster ( * = new ): South American Tapir*, Ocelot*, Greater Grison*, Western Mountain Coati*, Vicuña*, Capybara*, Spectacled Bear*, Jaguar* (with new Great One!), Black Caiman*, Taruca*, Whitetail Deer, Cinnamon Teal, Collared Peccary, and Puma.
All Mountain Goat horn have been completely redone.
* No populations were harmed in the remastering of these horns. All existing animals on your reserve will shed their horns to grow new ones instead. ** Known issue: existing Mountain Goats on your map will display difficulty levels that are higher than they used to be. Do not fret, because the displayed difficulty has no effect on the animal’s rack, trophy score, or medal potential.
Bengal Tigers will be more clever when in danger of being spotted, making for a more roarsome experience on Nepal.
Your dog should act more natural around water.
Game Feeders should attract animals like they did before the previous patch. Boars had peace for long enough.
Tent placement has been adjusted, allowing you to set up camp on slightly steeper inclines.
We optimized various different systems to reduce memory usage and increase stability across the board. The only thing you might notice is a smoother experience if you’re playing on something with limited memory.
Made Grizzly Bear footprints look like they were made by paws rather than hooves.
Hog Deer trophies will be categorized as having antlers, rather than horns.
Brown Bear skeletons have been reconnected in x-ray view.
Touched up the Whitetail Deer’s stomach, which was previously deforming unnaturally when in movement, creating shading and clipping issues.
Stopped the Whitetail Deer elbow and shoulder bones from breaking unnaturally in movement.
Smoothed out the Gray Fox’s unintended belly dent that is visible in some poses, particularly as trophies.
The Collared Peccary’s spine has been reconnected to its rear and head areas on x-ray view in the harvest screen.
Fixed an issue where Eurasian Woodcock trophies would change colors in the lodge depending on your graphics settings.
Did more eye surgery on the European Badger and Mountain Goat, whose eyes weren’t pointing in the right directions.
Bengal Tigers should correctly play call animations and sounds while walking.
Fixed an issue where one of the large Moose TruRacs base models didn’t have variations. This fix adds the appropriate variations and recalculates the scores to match. Any pre-existing trophies using this antler model won’t have scores adjusted. Existing moose already on your maps may get new antlers.
Gave Wolves more sense of direction. Previously they would frequently turn around, stop, and start unnaturally while fleeing within a pack. Hopefully now they find their way home.
Fixed an issue where Snow Geese would sometimes flicker between darker and lighter colors when flying.
On Tòrr nan Sithean, we fixed an issue where some small, portable structures could be placed in invalid locations underground at Caisteal an Eilein.
The Cassidy Combination Shotgun is now properly categorized as a shotgun when completing objectives which require use of shotguns. It’s a shotgun.
The Carcass Feeder and Mineral Lick will now play sounds when filled.
Game Feeders filled from the map will also play sound.
Fixed an issue where if network connection was lost while riding the ATV, your character would develop broken animations and deformed joints. We’re sorry you had to experience that.
On New England Mountains, we fixed the New England Landmarks mission that was previously impossible to complete if you visited a landmark before picking up the mission.
On Emerald Coast, we fixed several issues blocking progression for the In Saltie Territory mission.
On Medved Taiga, missions Federal Eco Service #5, An Influential Person #2, and Bears for Grankin #2 are no longer blocked.
On Vurhonga Savanna, we fixed an issue where The Maritz Final Exam could be successfully completed with Gold or lower Cape Buffalo and not with higher medals, when it should only accept Gold and higher. You’ll need to really prove yourself to Dr. Maritz next time.
On Askiy Ridge, we fixed an issue where interactive objects on the Aftermath mission weren’t highlighting.
On Mississippi Acres, the mission Lizard Brain is now completable without needing to restart.
On Tòrr nan Sithean, we fixed issues in certain languages where dialogue wouldn’t come upfor the Pipe Down and Read the Bones missions.
On Askiy Ridge, several missions now have their missing images attached to their codex entries.
Resolved a crash that may occur if you lost connection to the internet while starting a multiplayer session and then reconnected.
Patched up several different cases where the game may crash instead of properly shutting down when the game was closed.
Fixed an issue where one of the square platforms couldn’t be customized with paints.
The medal indicator on the Premium Plaques should no longer disappear when viewed from certain angles (second time’s the charm!).
Visual issues with the female Gredos Ibex horns-only pose have been fixed.
Visual issues where the female Beceite Ibex pose would clip through the plaque has been fixed.
Moose antlers should no longer clip into several plaques.
Fixed an issue where the Javan Rusa antlers-only pose would have its head clip through its plaque.
More evenly distributed the Mirriam Turkey’s tail feathers in several different trophy poses.
Fixed an issue where Dark Brown Woodland Caribou trophies would show up in the wrong color.
Accessing any of the equipment customization menus and then accessing the reticle customization screen should no longer revert your reticles.
Made sure you can see the entire Affected Species list for Callers in the Inventory screen.
Fixed a lighting issue on certain reserves that made metallic equipment look more reflective and shiny than they should, particularly if you were in a dark area during the day time.
On Salzwiesen Park, we fixed an issue where you could get stuck in a tent at Henkelpott Outpost.
On Tòrr nan Sithean, we raised up a fence and bulletin board that were previously clipping into the ground at Crow Crown.
On Sundarpatan, we grounded a floating tree near Ramthali Outpost.
On Tòrr nan Sithean, we added some soothing crackling fire sounds to the silent campfire at McLachlan Edge.
Since many of you hated the joke we had on Patch 9.0 and we enjoyed seeing your upset reactions, here’s another one from a community moderator, Laughing_JCKL:
Jaguar: did you hear about the Jaguar that attacked a hunter?
Hunter: No I did not.
Jaguar: that is because I am a quiet jaguar.

Hey there hunters,
Vivi here, your friendly local community manager! I asked our Discord what kinds of things I should talk about in this post and was flooded with questions, so this is now a Q&A. I couldn't answer everything here, but did my best to include as many answers as possible.
Well, as much as it pains me to keep my mouth shut, that's about all I can reveal to you today. Keep speculating and keep an eye on our social channels. Let us know where you think we're going next!

Hunt any animal class with just a few tools in your arsenal. The Multi-Class Weapon Pack DLC includes 3 bolt-action rifles and 1 combination shotgun that allow for maximum adaptability.
Once you purchase the DLC, all weapons will be available for free in the in-game store.
Each new bolt-action rifle comes with brand new types of ammo. The new ammo types have two versions per weapon; one ammo type ensures high level of penetration and the other has better expansion upon impact.
A powerful, straight-pull rifle for the biggest game, offering a distinct, weighty feel. Its de-cocking safety is chambered in .500 Jeffery, making it the ultimate choice for large game at long ranges.
The Richardsson has magazine size of 4 and covers classes 8-9 for both the option of .500 Jeffery solid rounds (deep penetration) or soft-point ammunition (rapid expansion).
A highly accurate rifle that offers a flat trajectory for easier long-range hunting. This miniature rifle has quick second shots and a 10-round magazine and offers extended zeroing modes. Ideal for birds and other small game.
The Joneros covers classes 1-2 with the option of .17HMR Full Metal Jacket (deep penetration) or Polymer-Tip (rapid expansion) ammunition.
An iconic, reliable choice for a wide range of medium game. This iconic bolt-action rifle provides considerable force and comfortable recoil.
The Alis Precision shot has a magazine size of 5 and covers class 3-7 with the .25-06 Polymer-Tip (deep penetration) or class 2-6 with Soft-Point ammunition (rapid expansion).
This classic break-action weapon essentially gives you both a rifle and shotgun in one metal package, covering long distances with its .22 Magnum rifled barrel and close quarters with its 12-gauge shotgun barrel. Simply hold reload to switch ammo type and instantly adapt to any hunting scenario.
The Cassidy gives you a wide choice of ammunition, allowing you the possibility to hunt anything from class 1-8:
.22Mag Jacketed Hollow Point (deep penetration, class 1-2)
.22Mag Hollow Point (rapid expansion, class 1-2)
12 GA Birdshot (class 1)
12 GA Buckshot (class 2-5)
12 GA Slug (class 4-8)
3 new Fallow Deer furs
New and remastered Moose antlers
New Roe Deer Great One
Performance improvements
Scotland Haggis fix
…and more!

* The new patch arrives on Tuesday, April 14th with Multi-Class Weapon Pack DLC.
On top of the patch, you can purchase a new weapon pack DLC that equips you with 3 new bolt-action rifles and 1 new combination shotgun, allowing you to hunt all animal classes with just one pack.
For $5.99 you’ll get:
RICHARDSSON .500: Powerful, straight-pull rifle for the largest game. Covers classes 8-9.
JONEROS .17HMR: Highly accurate rifle ideal for birds and other small game. Covers classes 1-2.
ALIS PRECISION SHOT .25-06: Reliable choice for a wide range of medium game. Covers classes 2-7.
CASSIDY COMBINATION SHOTGUN .22MAG: Break-action weapon that essentially gives you both a rifle and shotgun in one metal package, allowing you to instantly adapt to any hunting scenario. Covers classes 1-8.
One rare and two very rare new fur variations have been added to all Fallow Deer populations on both male and female: Acromelanistic, Erythristic, and Leucistic.
The new furs will have a chance to appear on any Fallow Deer both existing and new. This means with the patch, existing Fallow Deer on your map may change fur types according to the new distribution of furs.
11 new antlers of various shapes and sizes are now available through the TruRacs system for Moose. Additionally, all existing antlers have been remastered.
If you are lucky, you may now find a Fabled Roe Deer on Hirschefelden, Cuatro Colinas, or Tòrr nan Sithean. The new Great One has 6 possible fur variants: Kindledawn, Wildfire, Ghostveil, Moonmarked, Mistbound, and Rustveil.
On top of the 6 furs, there are also hundreds of possible TruRac combinations, making whichever Great One variant you come across truly feel unique.
Reserves with large amounts of water have had optimizations to water and physics interactions to improve performance.
Certain hunters were missing their whimsy modifier and were thus completely unable to see the completely fictional mythical Haggis creature on Scotland. We’ve evened out the playing field by handing out whimsy to those who lacked it.
Did surgery on all Badgers to remove organs that weren’t supposed to be there. Kinda like our appendix, they weren’t doing anything useful.
Reduced the probability of getting Uncommon Dark Brown and Light Brown plumages for Wild Turkey.
Fixed an issue where you could get stuck by jumping under a Hanging Carcass Feeder, making you the next bait.
We made it so that you can’t place items too close to each other to prevent a bug where item icons could overlap and make it difficult to place or interact.
Last update, we fixed a bug where harvesting an animal on top of a Game Feeder would open both menus. This change had an unintended consequence that you would always have to look at a very specific part of the animal to harvest it. We have reverted the change, but also brought back the overlapping menu bug for now.
On Silver Ridge Peaks, the UI on the Out of Her Comfort Zone mission will show a human icon rather than an imposter Snow Leopard.
An issue that could cause animals to spawn too close to the session host has been resolved.
Fixed a crash that could happen if you tried to rapidly open the menu again after fast traveling to another map.
Dark Brown and Light Brown plumages for Wild Turkey are now correctly labelled as Uncommon in the Trophy Manager rather than Very Rare.
Starting weapons on display in your Trophy Lodge should consistently remain where they were when starting a New Game.
Fixed a shader issue that caused certain animals to grow creepy-looking spikes below their mount on the trophy preview.
The Merriam Turkey is now centered on the preview screen when placing it on the Special Wall Mount branch.
Previewing scopes will show your default reticle when first entering the scope customization menu, rather than making you choose it manually each time.
In Spanish, we fixed an issue where text wasn’t fitting in certain parts of the Trophy Filters menu.
Fixed an issue where you couldn’t exit the Backpack Overloaded popup after buying an item that would put you over the inventory limit.
You should no longer get the option to Cuztomize a tent that isn’t yours if it’s saved in your loadout and will instead only get the option to Buy.
Fixed an issue where the scroll bar in the Customization Menu wasn't reseting after closing and reopening the menu.
Resolved an issue where a tooltip on the Map Menu would flicker when using controller.
Fixed a bug where selecting Cancel on the fast-travel drop down menu would cause multiple Cancel options to show up on the next attempts.
Class 5 animals in the codex should show the Class 5 Boar icon rather than incorrectly displaying the Class 4 Deer icon.
Removed an invisible wall near some trees near Cuairt Ùraisg on Tòrr nan Sithean, so no you aren’t crazy.
Introducing 3 new bolt-action rifles and 1 new combination shotgun, allowing you to hunt all animal classes in a single pack, arriving April 14th.
A powerful, straight-pull rifle for the biggest game, offering a distinct, weighty feel. Its de-cocking safety is chambered in .500 Jeffery, making it the ultimate choice for large game at long ranges.
Covers classes 8-9 and the option of .500 Jeffery solid rounds or soft-point ammunition.
A highly accurate rifle that offers a flat trajectory for easier long-range hunting. This miniature rifle has quick second shots and a 10-round magazine and offers extended zeroing modes. Ideal for birds and other small game.
Covers classes 1-2 with the option of .17HMR Full Metal Jacket or Polymer-Tip ammunition.
An iconic, reliable choice for a wide range of medium game. This iconic bolt-action rifle, around for nearly a century, provides considerable force and comfortable recoil.
Covers classes 2-7 with the option of .25-06 Polymer-Tip or Soft-Point ammunition.
Covers classes 1-8, with a wide choice of ammunition between .22 Hollow Point and 12GA Birdshot, Buckshot, and Slug.
The Multi-Class Weapon Pack DLC releases with a new patch for everyone. The patch will add a new Great One, new Fallow Deer variations, new Moose antlers, and many bug fixes and improvements. What do you think the new Great One is? You will find out throughout the next week, but the patch notes will reveal all on Monday, April 13th to check out a day early.

Three new, very rare fur variations have been added to all Mule Deer populations: Erythristic Red, Erythristic Isabelline, and Mosaic.

It should be clearer which trophy you’re selecting when browsing through trophies in the Trophy Manager.

The "Feeder was destroyed" notification now uses a pop-up that doesn't require you to dismiss it manually.
Populations for Stubble Quail and Magpie Goose on Emerald Coast have been reset. This should fix any lingering issues with animals being scored too high and even bring a little bit of peace to the fan subreddit.
Several visual issues with animal skeletons on the Harvest Screen have been fixed:
The Woodcock’s feet and wing bones should now match up with its model.
The Black Grouse’s wings should now match up with its model.

Resolved a crash that could occur if you had a lot of bird corpses piled in one place. Way too many in the first place if you ask me.
Fixed several issues with Trophy Stands and Mounts that appeared visually inconsistent when using the new Trophy Customization options.
Fixed a visual clipping issue with a “horns only” Wall Mount for the Blacktail Deer.
On our livestream in December, Flinter suggested the medals on Premium Trophy Plaques were super high tech and “motion-activated”. While we appreciate the enthusiasm, this was a bug and not a feature. They should now be visible at all angles and distances.
The trophy medals on Massive and Medium Round Platforms should now be visible.
Fixed an issue where the Huddle Roe Multimount wasn’t properly displaying every deer.
Removed several duplicate poses for the Coyote.
Fixed an issue where non-English languages would break the species filters in the Trophy Lodge menu.

In case you didn’t read Dev Diary: A Peek Behind the Tech of the Beaver, here’s a short summary of the part I as a technical animator play in the development of our animals.
My job is basically laying the groundwork for the animation in the game. Among other things, I create the skeletons that drive the models made by our artist and make animation rigs to allow our talented animators to animate them! Sometimes I also work with the system that drives the animations, which we call a state machine: a behaviour tree that transitions the animal to and from the animations that correspond to its current action, as well as controlling other aspects of the animals movement.
Minks and many of their mustelid cousins are famously flexible animals, like furry noodles. In order to capture this it is important that the rig has the right controls that are easy for an animator to manipulate, so that we can properly display this unique physiology.
Have you ever paused an animation mid-movement and noticed that the limbs are all bent and noodley? That’s what we sometimes call a “ribbon”. These ribbon controls are usually used for cartoonish exaggeration, but we can also utilize it for the spine to create the crazy twists and bends minks are known for with only a handful of controls to keep track of. This is a common solution for most quadruped rigs, but this time a little extra effort was needed to get more precise control of the shape.
Those ribbon controls came in handy when our animators made these lovely hitreact animations where the mink jumps in the air, twisting and flailing in a very dramatic fashion, but there was one issue: the minks are class 1. They almost always die in one hit, meaning that those animations would never be seen! Luckily we were able to make them still play these animations before dying, like the rabbits do, and the roll at the end blending into the death-state tied it all together.
In case it wasn’t obvious, the mink is small, in fact it’s the smallest mammal in theHunter: Call of the Wild to date. They are also fast and nimble. Part of my job involves shooting the animals I work with over and over and over again, and let me tell you when these guys get running they are not easy to hit, and I have access to dev-cheats! You might find them easier to shoot while out on the water, so bring a retriever.
That’s right, minks are semi-aquatic. Many of us on the team are Swedes and just like us, minks have a taste for fish, so keep an eye on the lakes. Getting the swimming right was tricky due to their small size. One decimal wrong and they could either look like they’re drowning or like they’re floating above the water, so they needed quite a bit of fine-tuning. Their size turned out to be as much of a challenge for us as it hopefully will be for you!
Working on the minks has been such a joy for me. Mustelids are my favourite family of animals, so when I heard they were on the list for Scotland you better believe I was excited! I am super proud of the work me and my team have put into these adorable little guys, and I hope you all enjoy them as much as I have! While they may look too cute to shoot, I trust they’ll look splendid in your trophy lodges.

Happy hunting and Happy Halloween!
We noticed many players reporting performance issues related to opening your map after Patch 8.3. So with that we have just one note for the Hotfix today:
Fixed some crashing and lagging issues related to opening your map, particularly if you have many POI's unlocked.
Additionally, in case you missed it, we are extending the current Community Challenge so that hunters who were experiencing these issues have more time to participate and unlock the Halloween cosmetics.
Thanks again to everyone who reported your bugs and happy hunting!
Tomorrow (October 30th), Hotfix 8.3.1 will come out on all platforms. This solves some crashing and lagging issues related to opening your map.
The Hallowing Howling Community Event is also getting a 1 week extension so you have more time to participate if you were affected.
We put out a notice earlier this week that after updating to patch 8.3, many of you have had performance issues related to opening your map.
Especially with the timing of the new Community Challenge, Game Feeders, and the new Great One, we are aware turning off POI's on your map is not an ideal solution and makes it difficult if you want to use tents or teleport to different points.
Our suggestion to turn off POI's for now is only a temporary way to get your game to run better while we investigate a solution.
We don't have an update on this issue, but are continuing to investigate. Once we have an update, it will still take a little more time to get any kind of improvements to you. We'll come back to you next week with more information.
Additionally, we plan to extend the Community Challenge so that those experiencing this issues have more time to participate and unlock the new Halloween cosmetics.
If you are having performance issues related to opening the map, please try this for now:
(From the Start Menu)
• Settings > Interface
• Set POI ICONS MAP to OFF
