Welcome to our first devlog for Major Update 1.2! We wanted to show you what the team is actively working on right now. Everything below is still in development – being tested, tuned, and polished as we go – but it's coming together nicely, and we couldn't wait to show you where it's headed. Here's what we're building.
Tired of chasing down vandals, smokers, and the occasional intergalactic troublemaker yourself? We're working on your new best employee. The Security Guard is designed to patrol your casino, catch the bad guests before they wreck your rating, and help you keep order on the floor – so you can focus on running the house. Hire them, position them, and let them do the dirty work. We're still fine-tuning their behavior and patrol logic, but here's an early look at them in action.
This one's for the designers. We're building a full toolset to hand you the keys to your casino's entire look.
Neon Strips – the goal is to let you paint your walls, ceilings and floors with neon exactly how you want. Go classic Vegas, cyberpunk, or full chaos. It's your canvas.
Light Control per Floor – we're working on independent color and intensity controls for each floor. Moody high-roller lounge upstairs, buzzing arcade downstairs – you decide.
After Blackjack lit up the tables, you asked for more – so we got to work. Baccarat is the next table game we're building, and it's shaping up to draw in the high rollers and keep the money flowing. It's still in development, but here's a first look at the table taking shape.
Alongside Update 1.2, we're really excited about something else on our desks right now – Pets are coming to your casino. The plan: you'll be able to keep a quiet companion by your side while you run the floor. And for players who want the full menagerie, the upcoming Pets DLC is being built with a whole variety of breeds to choose from:
🐶 18 Dog skins
🐱 9 Cat skins
🪿 3 Goose skins
That's right – you'll finally be able to have your very own friendly Goose watching over the casino.
It's still in development, so add it to your wishlist to follow along and get notified at launch – and help us bring more good boys (and geese) to the casino floor: 👉 WISHLIST THE PETS DLC ON STEAM
This is an early devlog – features are still in development and details may change as we go. We'll keep sharing progress, dates, and reveals along the way, so follow the game and join the community to be the first to know when Update 1.2 goes live.

We are kicking off our latest update with a massive focus on performance, optimization, and player comfort. This update brings huge under-the-hood engine optimizations to make your casino run smoother than ever, while adding smart anti-accidental-exit mechanics to the gambling floors!
Accidental Exit Prevention: To prevent you from accidentally leaving a game and losing your active stakes, players will no longer be able to stand up while actively playing on Tables or Slot machines by pressing W, A, S, D or Jump.
We have completely overhauled our rendering pipelines and asset scaling to ensure significantly higher frame rates across all hardware setups:
Foliage & Town Optimization: Heavily optimized foliage density and town rendering systems for better performance, particularly noticeable on Low and Medium graphical settings.
Shadow Adjustments: Reduced the processing overhead caused by shadow and contact-shadow casting from foliage across the entire map.
NPC Performance: Optimized animation performance for all visitor NPCs on the floor.
Culling Overhaul: Optimized environmental meshes to consume significantly fewer system resources when they are off-screen.
Visual Scaling: Improved NPC models and clothing quality/LOD transitions when viewed from a distance.
Fix a rare crash that could occur unpredictably during active gameplay.
Fix visitor animation and montage sequence glitches.
Fix environment occlusion issues that were causing specific objects to render incorrectly or pop in.
Fix chip numbers displaying in the wrong visual direction at the Cashier window.
Fix an exploit/bug where players could get physically stuck standing directly on the gambling table when pressing WASD or Space.
Fix incorrect blackjack bet calculations from triggering after utilizing the Max Bet option.
Fix a pathing issue where a specific visitor (the goose!) would get permanently stuck wandering near the bar area.
Fix the Shelf UI text formatting and layout display when playing in French.
Fix a missing localization translation line for the "Toggle Sprint" setting in the options menu.
Fix a translation typo error for "beer" when localization is set to German.
Fix the casino renaming sequence so it properly saves and finishes even if you choose to keep the exact same name.

To be completely transparent with you all, the team has burned out a bit. We were crunching incredibly hard both leading up to and right after the release. To get our energy back and make sure we can deliver the best quality possible, we’ve all taken a much-needed 2-week break. We will be fully returning to work in early July. Because of this, we are changing how we handle updates moving forward:
Fewer Daily Patches: We want to reduce the number of tiny, daily hotfixes. Constantly pushing updates actually slows us down significantly because we have to double-check and test each individual patch before it goes live.
Focus on Major Updates: Moving forward, we will be focusing on Major Patches or larger, consolidated bug-fix updates.
The content for Major Patch 1.2 has been officially confirmed! We are aiming to drop this massive update between the end of July and early August. Thank you all so much for your incredible support and understanding while we take a moment to recharge. We can't wait to show you what's coming in Patch 1.2!

This update brings highly requested quality-of-life additions like a toggle sprint option, updates to Blackjack rules realism, fixes to item and clothing rendering, improved handyman routines, and targeted performance and mesh optimizations.
Toggle Sprint Added: You can now switch between holding or toggling your sprint key inside the settings menu!

Asset Polish: Resolved LOD clipping issues and heavily optimized the Kaori Chair mesh.
Lighting Adjustments: Fixed and optimized the ceiling lamp configurations specifically on WC Level 2.
Fix T-shirt LOD rendering and optimization to ensure smooth visual transitions without clipping.
Fix handyman cleanup routine to immediately collect slot machines right after they have been extinguished.
Fix an issue where the handyman could accidentally block the repair station.
Fix staircase pathfinding to strictly prevent NPCs from walking on awkward outer edges.
Fix a soft-lock where players could get permanently stuck in a security camera view if they opened the escape menu at the exact same parallel moment.
Fix a system bug that was causing random game events to duplicate uncontrollably.
Fix Blackjack table mechanics with minor gameplay edits and back-end logic corrections.
Fix the problem when visitors could take items from Bar shelves from second floor.

We are incredibly excited to announce that Major Update 1.1 is officially moving from our test branch to the live game! This update introduces one of our most heavily requested features: a brand-new Save Slot system, alongside unique Game Modes designed to let you rule the casino floor exactly how you want.
The Vanilla Experience: This is the core game mode you know and love. Follow structured quest progression to unlock items, build your empire step-by-step, and experience the definitive story of your rising casino.
The Free-Form Experience: Want more flexibility? Normal mode kicks off with a few introductory quests to teach you the basic mechanics, then completely opens up. We have fully polished and updated the quests in this mode, so you can pursue flexible targets at your own pace.
No goals, no guidance, total control. We have combined our original creative features into the ultimate Sandbox mode! With zero active quests holding you back, you can fully customize your starting experience with two distinct ways to play:
Pure No Quests: All standard pricing, upgrades, and economies remain active, but you play with absolutely zero active tutorials or milestones. Run a pure, unguided business simulation and test your true management skills with a real starting budget.
Free Creation & Testing: Toggle settings to make all items and upgrades cost completely $0. Skip the hassle of money entirely to build a massive casino layout for free or use it as an experimental playground to safely test new ideas.
(Note: Challenges and Achievements are disabled in this mode).
More Freedom to Customize: We have completely upgraded the Character Customizer! You now have significantly more freedom to tweak and shape your character's body proportions exactly how you want.
Save Slot System: Introduce multiple profiles!
Autosave Support: Added automatic background saving so you never lose your casino's progress.
Max Bet Button: Added a highly requested max bet button to the betting UI to speed up high-stakes action.
Speed Up Queues: Added a checkbox option to completely remove visitor "thumbs-up" animations, significantly speeding up cash desk and transaction lines.
Employee Firing Refunds: Firing an employee now returning your money back to your bank account.
Solo Game Pause: Added the ability to fully pause the game when playing solo.
Twitch Event Update: The Kazakh TV Reporter event now always spawns in his infamous mankini!
AKEI Store Expansion: The furniture shop has been expanded and rearranged into two distinct rooms. Check out the newly added Retro Sofa, Retro Chair, 2 new Plants, and 2 new Vases.
Fully redesigned and streamlined the Buy Slots and Buy Tables quest lines for smoother progression.
Dynamic Lotto Income: Lottery revenue now scales up dynamically, increasing with every single Casino level you achieve.
Electronics Repair Mini-game: Tightening the screws in the repair mini-game is now clockwise. We have also increased the dent repair collider size to make fixing electronics feel much more responsive.
Blackjack Realism: The croupier now correctly starts card delivery from one face-down card.
Dynamic NPC Behavior: Jakub now wakes up at completely different times depending on which game mode you are playing.
UI Logic: Tutorial windows will now also appear in the main tutorials menu after purchasing an upgrade.
We have completely overhauled the town and interior tech to provide CPU and GPU performance gains:
HISM Conversions: Combined interior casino mesh parts and various outdoor meshes into Hierarchical Instanced Static Meshes (HISM), drastically improving NPC navigation and rendering performance.
UI Icon & Billboard Optimization: Drastically reduced the performance impact of status billboards and floating icons above casino slots, tables, pole dancers, and broken machines.
Light & Shadow Adjustments: Reduced the shadow distance for all spotlights across the Casino floor to save processing power.
VFX Performance: Reduced the lifetime and collision calculations on Money Emote VFX and Coins Win effects to prevent stuttering during huge payouts.
Fixed an issue where the player could get hit with a bat after opening the tutorial window, causing them to get permanently stuck.
Fixed the Exchanger and Pawnshop reset button not functioning.
Fixed a visual bug where the Premium Roulette character overlapped with the Croupier.
Fixed a rendering issue with the repair mini-game dent correction on widescreen displays.

We are excited to announce that the public playtest for our upcoming Major Update 1.1 is officially live! This update introduces some of our most requested features: New Game Modes, a brand-new Save Slot system, and a Game Pause function.
We need your help to thoroughly test these changes. We already know about a few minor issues, but we wanted to kick off the test early to get your hands on it as soon as possible!
Guided Mode: The vanilla experience you know and LOVE ːlunar2019crylaughingpigː, featuring structured quest progression to guide your casino's growth.
Normal Mode: A brand-new mode that gives you more freedom! It starts with a few introductory quests to teach you the ropes, then opens up wide, flexible targets. You can progress exactly how you want within the game's design.
Creative Mode: Don't want to hassle with money? This is a completely free sandbox mode where all items cost $0. Build the ultimate mega-casino of your dreams with zero financial limits!
Game Pause: You can now pause the game to take a break or plan your next casino layout without losing track of your active floor.
Open your Steam Library and Right-Click on The House Always Wins.
Select Properties.
Go to the Betas tab.
Under Beta Participation, select public-test from the drop-down menu. (Steam will then automatically download the test build. If you don't see it please relaunch Steam client).
Your main branch saves should be completely safe, but because this is a test environment, we highly recommend manually backing up your save file just to be absolutely certain.
Before switching branches, make a backup copy of your save file (L_Design_NewMainWorld.sav) located in your directory here: SteamLibrary\\steamapps\\common\\Grand Casino Simulator\\TS_CasinoRoyal\\Saved\\SaveGames
⚠️ Please Note: Testers should understand all risks when jumping into a fresh test version. This build is unpolished, contains experimental systems, and you will encounter bugs.
If you find bugs or want to share your thoughts on the balance of the new modes, feel free to leave your feedback right here in the comments of this post or send it directly via Bug Report . You can also jump into our Discord channel.
When you share your thoughts, please clearly mention that it is "Game Modes Test Feedback" so the team can easily track it down and review it.
Thank you so much to everyone helping us test and polish this major update. Happy building, and let us know what you think!

First of all, we want to say a huge THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for such an incredible start.
The launch wasn’t perfectly smooth and we know that. But thanks to your constant feedback, bug reports, suggestions, and patience, we’ve already released 2 patches since launch, with more updates already in development.
We read your feedback every single day, and it genuinely helps shape the future of the game.
Our plans shifted slightly after launch because right now our #1 priority is implementing new game modes.
The first one is Sandbox Mode for more hardcore players.
Your progression will no longer be heavily tied to the quest system
You’ll be free to progress your casino however you want
You’ll be able to customize event frequencies
Don’t like geese or vandals? No problem.
You’ll be able to:
Reduce their spawn rate
Increase it if you want more chaos
Or disable certain events completely
We are also working on a full Creative Mode.
Everything will be unlocked from the start
You won’t need to buy items
No progression limitations
Pure creativity focused on building and managing your dream casino
We hope to release these modes within the next 2 weeks, and we’ll try to deliver them as soon as possible.
Optimization is our second biggest priority right now.
The game is heavily CPU-demanding because there are many NPCs and systems running simultaneously. That’s not an excuse and we want players to understand why performance can sometimes become challenging.
We are constantly working on:
Better CPU optimization
Improved NPC performance
Reduced stuttering and lag
General stability improvements
You can expect performance improvements continuously throughout development.
We constantly see feedback that the game can become overwhelming, especially for new players who feel like they need to manage too many things at once.
Because of this, we’re actively working on:
Quest rebalance
Progression improvements
Better gameplay pacing
More automation systems
New employee duties are also coming soon:
Cleaners will clean toilets
New employees will repair broken machines
Additional management features are planned
We want the game to stay fun and chaotic without becoming exhausting.
This summer and beyond, we’re planning major content updates including:
Pets DLC
6-Player CO-OP
Real Estate System
Cars
Neon Lights with customizable colors and intensity
More customization options
New upgrades, decorations, and gameplay systems
Some features will arrive earlier, some later — but overall everything is going according to plan.
We’ll continue updating the game regularly with:
Bug fixes
Optimization improvements
Quality-of-life features
Balance changes
Community-requested features
Your feedback genuinely matters to us and directly affects development priorities.
If you have questions, suggestions, bug reports, or just want to hang out with the community:

Meet your business partner, Jakub. He is always ready to offer a good price for the items your customers pawned just to get a chance to play again.
Visitors bring their items to the pawnshop, and your job is to bargain for the lowest price. The cheaper you buy, the more profit you make when you sell them later.
You’ll see even more amazing NPCs coming to your casino, stay tuned!
Now you are not just the owner. You are the architect of your casino.
Build walls, place doors, create zones with partitions, lay carpets with different patterns, and put lights on the floor or walls to illuminate everything exactly how you want.
Your casino, your rules. Luxury, chaos, or something in between. It is all up to you.
Let us know what you think and see you in the next posts!
Finally, an upgrade no one has been waiting for, but everyone deserves. TOILETS.
Some guests decide to go tot he casino after a dinner at a mexican restaurant, so we all can imagine what happens after that. The toilet gets clogged, and you have to clean it. There is an upside tho! If you are not afraid to get your hands dirty, you might find some valuable things in the… Ahem… There.
Keep an eye on those cloggs, because if a guest can't use the toilet they will lower your casino rating. The more people in the casino the faster it turns into a disaster.
Now it's not enough to just put slot machines. You have to take care of this too.
Lots more casino upgrades coming, stay tuned!
