Hi everyone!
The Greenening already worked really well on the Steam Deck when it was released, but after some more tweaks, it now got the full seal of approval from Valve:
The Greenening is officially Steam Deck Verified ✅
I love playing on the Deck myself, so this feels like an awesome milestone to reach!
Cheers,
Erkberg
Hey everyone!
Thank you all so much for the ongoing amazing reception and feedback <3
Here's a small update adressing some of that, more coming soon!
Added an FPS Limit setting (so you can now avoid your GPU going crazy when VSync is off)
Controllers now work properly on widescreen monitors
Make garden upgrade paths clearer
Slightly increase essence dropped in boss level
Fix Sparkle frowning every time materials are collected
Cheers,
Erkberg
Hi everyone, and thank you all so much for your great feedback so far!
The first update for The Greenening is now live, adressing some of the more prominent issues you reported:
The outline around the ingame cursor is now bigger and a bit darker, making it stand out more among the myriad of drops in the late game
You can also now adjust the ingame cursor size and color to your liking in the settings
Missing collectibles can now be found in the bonus area
Additionally, there's another subtle hint on where missing collectibles can be found when hovering empty pedestals after finishing the game
The Charge ability can now be used by holding X or Shift
The upgrade screen can now be zoomed using + / - or PageUp / PageDown
The final phase of the boss is now a bit more forgiving
The rainbow upgrade is now a bit cheaper
The last 15 garden trees are now cheaper (so those of you who want to max everything have to grind less)
Besides those there are some smaller bugfixes, translation updates and you can now view your total stats after finishing the game!
Thank you all so much for all the lovely reviews and feedback <3
I'll continue working on new updates to the game, so please keep it coming :)
Cheers,
Erkberg

Hi everyone,
Next Fest is upon us, and with it thousands of demos of upcoming games for you to try out.
If you look close enough (and squint just a little), you can find The Greenening Demo in there:
The recent updates improved the demo a lot in terms of balancing, performance and more. They also added many new languages like Chinese, Russian & Spanish, so now's the best time to play the game.
Let me know how you like it via the form linked ingame, the Steam forums, or by leaving a review on the demo.
Thanks a lot for your feedback and support 💚

The Greenening will be playable on Steam Deck!
Here's a quick video of that:
Both stick and touchpad controls work quite well and it runs smoothly.
I love playing games on the Deck myself, so I'll make sure that it stays that way for the full release next year.
The demo is releasing tomorrow (Sep 09, 7pm CEST), so it's not long until you can try it out for yourself :)
Cheers,
Erkberg
Hi everyone! Here's a quick update on the development progress of the game so far and what's up next.
I'm currently working on making the game fully playable, which means adding lots of content, gameplay mechanics and visuals to it. It's going well and the content is about 50% finished. Here's a sneak peek at one of the areas from the middle of the game:
There's also a free demo planned to be released in August 2025. This one is already fully playable, but needs some more fine-tuning and polishing touches to really shine, which I'm also working on :)
It's been a bit quiet around here since the announcement of the game a few months back, but I'll make sure to share some progress updates and infos about the game more regularly from now on. Stay tuned!
Thanks a lot for your interest and support!
