Hello! From time to time, when I check screenshots section (to hide the ending scenes) I see that some players still play pre-EX version (mostly Chinese players, but not only them). At first I thought that maybe there was some problems with old saves or something like that. But it's already more than 1 year after EX update and I still see many pre-EX screens. Do you have any guess?

Some of my followers know that I deleted Twitter last summer, and this spring I got rid of YouTube, and generally decided (perhaps temporarily) to reduce my online socializing to a minimum and not promote the upcoming game at all (in fact, the new game was only announced here on Steam). But today I came to check the summer sale dates, checked Sutra's wishlists, and was surprised by the slight spike on May 16th. I decided to find out why. But from me, it seems like you always hear the same thing: I do things for myself, I focus on myself, I don't read reviews anymore, I almost never watch Let's Plays... And while that's certainly true, it's only half the story. Because this feedback, this response to my work, is ultimately very important. I fell in love with Chinese culture as soon as I watched an old (1961) animated movie about Sun Wukong "Havoc in Heaven" on Soviet TV, it was the mid 1980s and I was 6-7 years old. Hong Kong's 80-90s movies and martial arts practicing cemented that love, and while I was growing up I tried to learn more about your country's story, religion and philosophy. I finally visited China for the very first time in 2023 (I was in Shanghai) and since I was amazed with the country I took my family on another trip soon after that and we've been in Beijing and Hong Kong. Hong Kong was good, but was a little too western, but both Shanghai and Beijing were great. Clean streets, many trees, people are friendly and helpful, city colors, I really was impressed. Hello. Thanks to grap3_day sending me an old save file I was able to fix the issue. Now you can use save files from original game. You have to manually relocate them from: C:\Users\YOUR_ACCOUNT\AppData\Local\the_friends_of_ringo_ishikawa to C:\Users\YOUR_ACCOUNT\AppData\Local\the_friends_of_ringo_ishikawa_ex {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32626098/cd185bd7bad4b453c6c88481b48a1afb3d766ea2.png Don't forget that not all EX features will be available though (like fish and bicycle shop won't have shop owners etc.) and it could contain more bugs. If you report a bug please pinpoint that you played from the old save. Thanks!

Hello, fellas! I added 7 new achievements (5 from XBox 2nd update and 2 brand new ones). And a long awaited "Free Roam Mode". You can pause/unpause the story any time on the "pause screen". To activate it you need to finish the story and see the credits roll. New skills for Mechanic "dojo", new throw (suplex from FA), brand new karate drop kick 6. Updated battle mechanics 7. KO animations from FA 8. Skippable cutscenes and dialogues 9. Jumping will be removed 10. Lowering screen size from 250x140 to 240x135 so the game will look cleaner in full screen 11. After I updated the game to GMS 2.3, the method which the author used to apply the translation doesn't work, so I decided to buy this translation and make it official. Hello, fellas! Maybe you know that I'm working on my hobby project about school delinquents now. We almost finished with all background concepts and now I'm working on dialogues, battle mechanics and game structure. It's a lot of work, so I'm not sure when the game will be ready. As for animations, we took animations from my last game Fading Afternoon, Ueda M. redesigned it for school uniform and my dad added shadows. And since FA used animations from Ringo, now I basically have updated Ringo animations. And some new ones. I was thinking of making a DLC or even remaster the whole game, but now I decided to just update it for free. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/32626098/00c3ec26674000934d21f4a3575624ce8183d569.png I'm not sure how much content I'll add but my current list is this: 1. Updated sprites for characters 2. New skills for Mechanic (his original skills all sucked) 3. Bicycles 4. New street with bicycle store and fish store 5. Fishing mini-game from FA 6. Local co-op 7. Lowering screen size from 250x140 to 240x135 so the game will look cleaner in full screen (I don't know why I made 250x140... all fonts looks horrible in full screen) 8. Jumping will be removed 9. Updated battle mechanics (I think that battle system could be better, compared to FA and my current project it's not that fun, so I want to update it) 10. Skippable cutscenes and dialogues (as I made it in FA) 11. Some new battle animations (I already made 1 brand new kick that wasn't even in FA, and I want to add some damaging animations from FA and maybe new throw skill for Judo class) 12. Free roam mode 13. Maybe something more... I think that I'll start updating the game in a couple of weeks, so the first update will be ready by New Year. Dear players! If you see any problems with a localization in your language - please report. I physically can't test all localizations myself. In this update I fixed some missing Chinese glyphs which I accidentally saw during development of Ringo EX version. So if you find more - I'll be eager to fix it. Thanks!

Please be aware that old saves could not work properly on the updated version, but you can play the old version via the "old_version" branch any time. So when reporting bugs please point if you played from a save or a new game. Thanks.

Hello! Some windows 11 users had problems with the game (a black screen at start, you can overcome this by entering window mode with F4 though). I couldn't fix it cause GM 1.4 (game engine I used for developing the game) ceased to work. YoYoGames stopped supporting it. So I had to port the game to GMS 2.3 to fix that problem. New engine could bring new bugs, so please report them, I'll try to find and fix them. You can play the old version via the "old_version" branch any time. The game is the same for now, but I plan to make a DLC with local co-op in the nearest future (I'll try to make online co-op as well, but it's a hard task). Not sure about adding more content, but it's possible as well. Thank you very much for your continuous support of the game!

Hello! I saw that some Windows 11 players have problems with the game (a black screen at start, you can overcome this with entering window mode with F4 though). And since I can't update the game anymore due to ceased support of GM 1.4 (which I used for developing Ringo) - I decided it to update the game to GM 2.3 I don't plan any major improvements, maybe some little fixes here and there (easy controls reset for example). But the new version will bring new bugs, please beware of it. I'll make an announcement when the update is ready. I hope to deliver it in few weeks. Thanks!

A player found a bug in the Switch version of the game with French dialogues settings that breaks the game right after prehistory dialogues. I found out that this bug exits on PC version too. I don't know was it there from the start or appeared after some update but now it fixed. I'm sorry.

Hello! I got some messages that Ringo has FPS drop now and I investigated this issue. This happened due to latest Windows updates, and since I don't update Windows I didn't notice it. I fixed it and now it should be fine.
