Harbingers,
A new update is now available for The Bloodline! The Company of Thieves has officially opened its doors: join the guild, take on 15 new quests, and pay a visit to the newly revamped Brittlebean Hold. New vendors, new faces, a fresh armor set, a new tavern, and more 🗡️
This update also brings major changes to the bounty and crime system, new dungeons, and a long list of fixes and additions across the world.
Stay sharp 👀
Brittlebean Hold Changes
Brittlebean Hold has been transitioned into a hub for the Company of Thieves. As many of you know, this area was initially planned to be a large, repeatable dungeon. Like the Necropolis, this area has shifted away from that, primarily due to the dungeons not really playing into both my and the game’s strengths. With this change, the castle segment of the map will, unfortunately, become inaccessible. I love the design of the Brittlebean Castle, but it’s simply too large and would end up adding meaningless empty space to the area. It will simply serve as a pretty backdrop to the area for now. Going forward, the cropland segment will be the accessible area for Brittlebean Hold and serve as a guild hub for the Company of Thieves. It will have special vendors, guildmates, and various Company of Thieves functionalities.
Removed all hostages from Brittlebean Hold
Removed “randomized” objectives from initializing when entering the area
Removed NPC that would approach the player when they enter the area for the first time
Removed enemy spawns
Removed harvestable spawns

Added many new NPCs
Added Company of Thieves quartermaster
Added a tavern to Brittlebean
Added interiors to all accessible buildings in Brittlebean
When you join the Company of Thieves, you can speak to Father Cillian to clear your bounties in Elderheim, Askil or Lonland. The higher your rank, the less you’ll have to pay him to clear your bounty.
Added a new Company of Thieves armor set (Hood with mask, torso, arms and leg pieces. Can be purchased from Eamon Flannery after joining the Company of Thieves)
Monlodir Additions/Changes
Removed dwarven recon drones for the time being
Added many more decorations to Monlodir

Added more foliage to Monlodir
Bounty/Crime System Changes
Crimes that add 500g or more to your bounty are now added to the entire kingdom you are currently in, rather than a specific city. For example, if you murder a civilian in Elderglen, that bounty will be added to ALL cities in Elderheim rather than just being added to your Elderglen bounty.
Further improved NPC player detection, making hiding and stealing easier and more reliable to perform as you expect
The player can now be sent to jail. When sent to jail, the player must serve their sentence, which results in 50% of their primary level EXP being taken.
Guards now have noses (lol)
All capital cities now have jails
The player can now be arrested in Elderheim cities and sent to a jail in Elderglen
The player can now be arrested in Askillian cities and sent to jail in Karraq
The player can now be arrested in Lonland cities sent to jail in Helgasker
The player SHOULD NOT be able to use the “Return to overworld” button when jailed. After serving their sentence, the button’s function should return
Stealable items should add bounty to the proper city now.
Added guards to Karraq
Added guards to Helgasker
Civilians should now properly track what city your bounty will be added when you do something illegal to them. So, if you kill a civilian in Helgasker, your bounty will be added to the proper locations.
You can now see your bounties for all cities and kingdoms in the detailed stat sheet
Other Additions/Changes
Added interior to the Elderglen Castle
Blocked off unused segments of the Sultan’s Palace at Karraq

Added a new pair of daggers – Key Daggers
Added a secret location to Helgakser

Greatly improved the reliability of the Hidden/Undetected UI that appears on the screen when crouched
Adjusted the level equation for sneaking. Expect to see a large level increase when loading into a new game if you already have increased your sneaking level a few times.
The player’s SNEAKING skill can save them from being caught if spotted while pickpocketing. Their level determines the % chance of getting away with pickpocketing while being detected. This % chance is capped at 85%.

Added new weapon: Key Daggers (This item is received through a Company of Thieves quest)
