Happy new year everyone! 🥳 Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with plenty of gaming. As promised, the changes to the meta progression system have been made in an attempt to make the game less grindy, and this build is live right now!

🔐 Unlocks

This new update makes all spells and items available from the start, with some unlocked by default, and some purchasable in the lobby map with fragments. This means the memories that are occasionally unlocked after collecting fragments during gameplay will not reward any new spells or items anymore. Instead, they only serve as a delivery mechanism for lore.

📈 Level up reroll

When leveling up you get three choices to pick from, but sometimes none of them are a great fit for the build you're going for. You can now spend your hard earned fragments to reroll the rewards in an attempt to get the spells you're looking for. Careful though, each reroll will increase in cost. At least until the next level up.

⛄ Winter map

Previously the winter map was unlocked by grinding through the collecting of a fairly large amount of fragments. No more! You can now unlock the winter map as soon as you defeat the Spider Queen. If you have already defeated the Spider Queen but have not yet unlocked the winter map, the map should be unlocked when you first boot the game with the new update.

⚙️ New settings

Many of you have requested the ability to auto fire and this is now exposed as a toggle in the settings menu. This only applies to the primary attack. The secondary attack still needs to be fired manually. Additionally, there is also a new setting to toggle head bobbing on/off while sprinting.

🚀 Next update

The above has not been the only thing I've worked on. I'm nearly finished with the next map and I'm very excited for everyone to see it. It looks and plays quite differently from the two maps already released. There will also be around 10 new spells/items. Stay tuned for more info soon! What's up bullet heaven fans! I know many of you have pointed out the progression in Terralysia isn't super rewarding right now, and that's why this is the first thing I want to fix. There's a new update that addresses this coming as soon as we get the localization finished! Hi everyone! Terralysia is coming to Early Access tomorrow! Very exciting times and I hope you’re looking forward to it as well. I’ve worked hard to make this initial build enjoyable but there is much more content to come. Here’s a brief list of major updates planned. Please keep in mind that any of this may change, especially once I hear more of your feedback. The first priority will be to stabilize the build as much as possible so everyone can enjoy it. Once this is done, I’d love to hear your suggestions on how to improve the game. The community has been awesome and many of your ideas have already been implemented. I’m looking forward to more feedback, don’t hesitate to get in touch. New meta progression system I know, I know. The game is difficult and grindy. This will be fixed. I have already started work on a new progression system that gives the player more flexibility in what spells and items to unlock and when. Stay tuned for more info soon. Session mod system Session mods are a new system I have been designing to add the ability to modify the experience, optionally. You will be able to earn, discover, and unlock session mods throughout the game. These mods can be toggled on or off and each mod will change how the game behaves. There might be a mod to turn off ragdolling for example, which I suspect some of you might feel is a good idea. In-map events The maps are large and fairly empty now, at least as far as dynamic events go. The plan is to introduce a system that adds random points of interest to fill the space with additional experiences. The idea is young and may change between now and release, but there will be something to populate the maps further. More of everything! Four new maps are planned, each with their own hand-crafted objective chains, new monsters, bosses, spells, and items to unlock and discover. Additionally, new lore and story nuggets will be introduced, and at least one new playable character will be added. Hey everyone, I've been busy working towards the Early Access release which is incoming soon. I will have a specific date for you any moment now. In the mean time, I've rolled out a new demo build that adds six new spells/items to unlock, a smart balancing feature that adapts game difficulty dynamically, and tons of additional tweaks and fixes. Try out the build and let me know what you think! Change list:

Hey folks, watch me struggle to complete the Terralysia demo. It's hard! Many of you are doing much better than me.

Demo is out now for Terralysia, the intense third-person action roguelike where unlocking and upgrading the right combination of spells and items is key to progressing through the brutal objectives. Don’t grind for too long however, because as you grow in strength, nastier monsters start spawning. There's no risk of rain in this demo, and you'll definitely be able to survive all the vampires because like that other one, we also don't have any. To give you additional insight into Terralysia, we’ll explore the narrative of the game highlighting the world of Terralysia, the main protagonist, and the mystery that you must uncover as you fight to survive your dreams.

The World of Terralysia

In the future, our planet is collapsing and humanity’s time has come to an end. The corporations with control use their funds and means to prepare for evacuation. In the midst of this preparation, experiments are being conducted to identify those worthy of “rescue”. These arcane figures perform cruel experiments in an attempt to evaluate a subject’s resilience and potential fit for the survival of the human race. They do this by forcefully controlling the dreams of their test subjects, putting them under stress, and observing their reactions. As the protagonist of Terralysia, you’re one of these unfortunate test subjects.

Your Hero

Your hero finds themselves trapped in their dreams. The dream locales are different, but the outcome is always the same. Swarms of ever-evolving monsters continue to rush you until they are vanquished, no matter what they try or how powerful they become. With each run you will have the opportunity to customize your character’s abilities and experience your dreams as multiple personas as you unlock new characters. Join the fight for survival to discover your hero’s true identity.

Uncovering the Mystery

As you battle to escape your dreams, you’ll begin to notice a mysterious ghost-like figure watching your every move in the distance. Think strategically and harness the power of Synergy to progress through the game and discover who the ghost-like figure is and whether they are friend or foe. Discover sub-plots during each dream sequence as you complete side quests and bonus objectives. Resilience is essential if you want to survive and discover the truth about the colorful yet sinister world of Terralysia.

The Terralysia playtest has come to an end! I wanted to thank everyone that played the game and provided feedback. It has been incredibly valuable and I feel the game is already better, with much left to do based on all the wonderful feedback. The next few months will be focused on improving the core gameplay, adding additional content, and creating a demo that will be made public. Terralysia offers endless replayability as each run has a distinct feel with varied objectives, enemies, locations to explore and character builds to test out. Build for Your Playstyle

As you begin each run, you will be able to experiment with a variety of playstyles and find the build that works best for you. Summon a Black Hole as a Mage, charge Precision Arrows as an Archer, or hack and slash through the endless hordes as a Melee Fighter. Modify your build to strategically react and be ready for any scenario. Fight Tree Monsters in a lush meadow, cast Fireballs in the frigid mountains, or explore the void on the mysterious floating islands; no dream is the same. The longer you survive, the more you can customize your build with each upgrade.

Synergies

Combining spells and items in unique ways to create Synergies is the core of what defines your time in Terralysia. Shape your own experience and make key decisions on how you want to evolve your character. Experiment with different combinations to achieve countless ways to defend, heal or traverse the battle ahead. Combine the Black Hole ability to pull everything into the same location and decimate them with the massive explosion of an upgraded Fireball. Test combinations like combining the Scroll of Anger Management, which significantly raises your power when your health is low, with the Lucky Charm adding a chance for enemy attacks to miss you.

Experience Fragments and Upgrades

Scattered across each dreamscape and dropped from your fallen foes are Experience Fragments. With each fragment, you can choose your upgrade path and craft powerful synergies between spells and items that you discover along your journey. Use Experience Fragments to upgrade abilities to shoot multiple projectiles or to send yourself flying into the air to evade the onslaught. When items are upgraded fully, they can make the difference between your survival or demise, like absorbing a final death blow and giving you a second chance to continue the fight.
