QUICK MODE

Faster procedural generation as we now support N suspects for fast puzzles.
It is now always required to discover the murder weapon before you can solve a quick match.

Weapons won't be discovered until their positional related suspects are discovered
Classic mode was retired during the past 24h as it wasn't working with the latests algorithm generation, it's been fixed now.
Every Classic case contains exactly one hidden murder weapon. You will need to discover the weapon in order to reveal who did the crime.
The weapon is only revealed after manually crossing out its square.
One or two suspect clues depend on discovering the murder weapon.
Weapon discovery is integrated into the positional deduction chain.
Added a notebook button next to Detective’s Notes when the Investigation Handbook is available.
The reference panel is now named Weapons & Furniture in Investigation mode.

If you have been following our development, you may have noticed our new name. We have evolved the title to better reflect the essence of the project: a pure and challenging Sudoku experience focused on suspects, combined with the investigation mechanics we all love. The same mystery as always, now with a new identity!
Investigation Cases are now more interactive. Once the board has been solved, suspects will display a small animated speech bubble. Select them directly on the board to hear their statements. The text appears progressively as each character speaks, accompanied by brief dialogue sounds. If a suspect has multiple statements, they will deliver them together. As a result we have temporary retired Classic mode to focus SusDoku on its true identity: investigating crime scenes, uncovering evidence and weapons, interrogating suspects, and solving cases through logical deduction.
Investigation Cases on Medium and Hard difficulty now feature four possible murder weapons and keep more suspects involved in the final deduction. Statements are now clearer and more natural. The murderer may combine one true claim with one false claim, as long as their complete statement remains false. In advanced cases, neither a single statement nor a pair of statements can directly reveal the murder weapon. Reaching the solution requires a longer chain of deductions. Six New Murder Weapons
Shotgun
Broken bottle
Poisoned syringe
Raven paperweight
Rolling pin
Glass ashtray
Each weapon is classified as a firearm, sharp weapon, poison, or blunt weapon.
Generator Improvements
Rooms now contain furniture appropriate to their purpose.
Up to 20% fewer chairs.
The Investigation Notebook is disabled by default during the interrogation phase, making testimonies more difficult to track and remember.
Disabled: Interrogate suspects directly on the board. Outdated notes and the notebook disappear after solving the board.
Enabled: Restores the previous system, displaying statements in the Detective Notes and the notebook.
This option can be changed at any time from Settings.
By default, the game highlights elements related to a clue when you hover over it. This helps you solve the case and get used to the game's objects. This feature is enabled by default but can be switched off.
The cursor remains on the board while you interrogate suspects.
Press A or Enter while highlighting a suspect to talk to them.
A suspect under the cursor takes priority over confirming the weapon.
Press B or Escape to close the conversation.
Windows with a close button can also be closed by clicking outside them.
Control prompts now adapt to the Investigation Notebook setting and the current phase.
Some users reported issues when launching the game. These were caused by external processes conflicting with the Godot engine. A patch has been implemented to resolve the issue.
Some maps could become impossible to solve when the random generator took too long.
Improved sound and visual settings.
Improved navigation sounds for the menus, Progress, Settings, and confirmation dialogs.
After solving an Investigation board, the Suspects panel now becomes a Murder Weapon panel. Choose from illustrated weapon cards with their categories shown, using the mouse, Q/E + Enter, or LB/RB + A on controller. You can still select a weapon directly on the board. The Furniture panel also becomes a Weapons reference during this phase, including clear explanations of each weapon type.
Hold H on keyboard or LT on controller to temporarily hide weapons, room labels, and the victim’s name. This is enabled by default — no settings toggle required.
The control legend now adapts to Steam Input controller overrides and glyphs when available. RT opens the Clue Guide, while the legend updates to reflect Investigation weapon-selection controls.
The game now defaults to Godot’s Compatibility renderer, using an OpenGL 3.3 desktop baseline for broader GPU support.
In Investigation mode, suspects can share the victim’s room, but can no longer be placed on the victim’s exact cell.
Room labels draw above character labels, while character nameplates now sit higher inside their cells to avoid overlaps.
Improved Spanish furniture and object translations.
Clarified weapon types.
New: Learn-as-you-go rules The first time you open a Classic or an Investigation case, a short rules card explains exactly how that mode is solved. You only see it once per mode — but you can reread it any time from Pause → How to play. New: Declutter while you place Optional setting that hides weapons and name labels while you're positioning a suspect, so furniture and windows underneath stay readable — handy on Medium and Hard Investigation boards. Nothing is lost: deselect the suspect and every marker comes right back. Settings → "Hide weapons & labels while placing". Faster cases, shorter waits Optimized the case generator's deduction engine — new maps deal noticeably faster, especially Investigation cases. Fixes Investigation mode no longer produces "so-and-so was not on the \" statements about objects a person could never stand on. New: Steam Achievements 16 achievements to chase… retroactive — the cases you've already solved count the moment you launch this update.
