Greetings Golfers!
Welcome once again to another progress update, where I share what’s going on behind the scenes in preparation for the next release of Super Video Golf.
The big news, of course, is the upcoming Craewall DLC which I’m still working hard on. You can find more information about the DLC in this post, such as what it contains, as well as wishlist it here:
Part of the creation process, however, is the integration of the DLC into the main game which is one of the most significant parts of the upcoming update. Not only does the main game have to recognise the DLC but I’m making sure to add support for the new and existing DLCs in the Career mode of the game.
When the Adventurer DLC released at the end of last year it contained only a single course, bundled with a selection of cosmetics. While the DLC could be added to Career Tournaments, via the custom tournament mode, it meant that, unfortunately, it couldn’t be added as a Career League as each league requires 2 courses to play. To remedy this I’ve since released the Putt-stop In Paradise DLC (for free!) to pair with the Adventurer course and enable a new league.
As the Craewall DLC will contain two courses this means it can be added as a Career League too! The next update for Super Video Golf, then, will enable two new Career Leagues for anyone who owns the DLCs. Owning all of the DLC is not a requirement, either, you’ll only need the Adventurer (and the free Putt-stop In Paradise) DLCs to unlock the first new league, and separately the Craewall DLC after it releases. Hopefully this will give some more value to those of you who’ve already supported Super Video Golf by buying the Adventurer DLC (thank you!).
As always there are a few fixes and some quality-of-life improvements included in the update too. For example the range indicator and power bar now have the centre marks highlighted in a different colour to make it easier to judge distances at a glance. There’s a new option to enable automatic screenshots of events such as holes-in-one or scoring an Albatross, which will drop the image straight into your Steam library. There’s also a new option to disable all weather effects when launching a quick-play round so that you never have to deal with the rain (if only there were an IRL version of that button!) if you want to hop in for a swift 9 ☔
Fixes include rendering missing crowd members, such as on the Putt-stop In Paradise DLC, and controller inputs which were getting latched when using the on-screen keyboard in desktop mode.
Performance wise the game will be updated to load workshop items directly from Steam’s installation directory rather than copying the items to the game’s directory first. This reduces load times and mitigates the overhead of the existing read and write operations. Water rendering has also been updated to significantly reduce the amount of overdraw performed when rendering the courses. It shaves off a little time each frame and every millisecond counts! This is particularly true on the Steam Deck.
Oh and speaking of Valve hardware, Super Video Golf is Steam Machine verified too! If you’re one of the lucky few to own a Steam Machine this means that you’ll be able to enjoy Super Video Golf on your big TV as well as at your desk or on the go!
If you’re interested in trying out any of the work-in-progress features the 1.22.2 beta is available on Steam, by going to the game’s properties and navigating to the Beta tab.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out to report bugs or share feedback and suggestions, it makes a huge difference and has helped hone Super Video Golf into what it is today! If you want to get in touch you can drop a note over on the Discussions, join the Group Chat or come say Hello on Discord. I’m always happy to hear what you have to say 😁
That’s all for this update - hopefully the next one will be announcing the release of the Craewall DLC! Until then, as always,
Happy Golfing! ⛳🏌️♂️

Welcome to the Great North West!
Spring has sprung, the grass is fresh, and there’s nothing like the first swing of the season to blow out the cobwebs. Take a tour of the undulating hills of Craewall, over 2 full size courses: Craig Galed and Harmouth Dale. Nestled among the hills Craig Galed is rocky by name, and rocky by nature - a challenge welcomed by even the most hardy of players. Howdy folks!
It's been a long time coming, but update 1.22 is finally here! This release contains a fair amount of changes since 1.21 - many of which have already been covered in previous posts. For instance there's the engine overhaul for performance optimisation - which you can read all about here.
There are also many UI changes which aim to improve navigation with a controller, as well as feel more intuitive. These are noticeable particularly in the Options menu and Player Profile menu, although there are many updated tweaks and changes across the board. In fact you can find more details in this post.
On top of that there are many visual changes, such as the improved minimap, rain water effect, tee marker lighting at night, updated grass rendering and more!
Gameplay has also been balanced somewhat, particularly when playing with Pro level clubs. Stricter rules have been introduced with the Pros such as not being able to drive from the rough, and hooks or slices will completely ruin a shot from the bunker. A new Pro league has been introduced, which is an online-only leaderboard operating similarly to the monthly league, except that each month you only get one attempt at each course, and you're only allowed Pro clubs with all assists switched off.
Speaking of assists, there are a selection of new items for more casual players, particularly the Range Indicator Assist which, when enabled, allows the range indicator to predict changes in the balls path based on terrain or wind conditions.
Here's an extensive list of what's changed (although I may have missed a few!)
Fixed - Bug causing incorrect culling of trees
Fixed - Putting grid can now correctly be faded to zero
Fixed - 8 iron showing incorrect model in Adventurer DLC
Fixed - DLC voices not playing with non-DLC avatars
Fixed - Occasional incorrect hook/slice callouts for remote players
Fixed - Correct avatar stance when switching to player with a wedge
Fixed - Lie indicator was missing from the UI when playing from the rough
Fixed - Players can no longer select a driver when playing from the rough with Pro clubs
Fixed - Some cases where controllers would still vibrate even when vibration is disabled
Fixed - Ghost umbrellas no longer appear in the rain when the crowd is disabled
Fixed - Post game scorecard text is now coloured as in-game scorecard
Updated - Vehicle particles now take on their parent velocity
Updated - Vertex footprint and bandwidth requirements of skyboxes, particles and 2D components has been reduced
Updated - Optimised VBO and VAO allocation for 2D drawables
Updated - Optimised data width for binary mesh model indices
Updated - Reduced vertex footprint of billboarded objects by 36%
Updated - Enabled shared VBOs and IBOs for billboard meshes
Updated - Reduced vertex footprint of 3D sprite objects by 44%

As always a massive Thank You goes out to the community members who have taken part in the beta over the last few months, hunting down bugs and offering feedback - it's been invaluable! If you'd like to get involved do get in touch via Discord, the community pages, or the Steam chat group.
And, don't forget, if a bug has slipped through the net please do let me know! I'll also be maintaining the 1.21 version of the game on Steam for some time, so if you prefer to use the older version for any reason, you can. To access it go to the game's properties on Steam and under the 'Beta' tab select the branch labelled 'Previous Version'.
That's it for now though, I hope you enjoy everything the update has to offer! Until the next one, as always,

Every calendar month a new challenge runs, starting and ending at midnight UTC. This month's challenge is to play a 9 hole round on each (non-DLC) course, against at least 3 human or CPU players. You can play online, locally or a combination of both, with a mix of both human and CPU players. Rounds can be played at any time throughout the month, and completing the challenge awards 1000XP! Hello all!
I'm happy to say that the previously announced DLC Putt-stop in Paradise is now available! Head on over to the Store Page to add it to your account:
Happy Golfing! ⛳🏌️♂️
If you hadn't heard the word around the water cooler then I'm happy to say that there's a new, free, DLC on its way to Super Video Golf, named Putt-stop in Paradise. 🌴
Putt-stop in Paradise is an 18 hole mini-golf course set on a tropical island:
Hopefully this course builds and improves upon the existing putting course (Terdiman Cliffs) by presenting interesting new obstacles as well as many more possibilities for (some quite tricky!) holes-in-one.
The course starts on the beach and runs up and around the island’s volcano.
As with other courses, online leaderboards will be available - however rounds played on Putt-stop In Paradise won’t be included in the monthly league. You will be able to add it to the up-coming custom tournaments though (available when the 1.22 update releases)!
The DLC is scheduled to release on April 13th 2026. You can find the store page here:
and wishlist it to be notified when it's released!
Thanks for playing everyone, as always:
Happy Golfing! ⛳🏌️

Greetings! Welcome back to another progress update for the upcoming 1.22 version of Super Video Golf. Previously we’ve taken a look at Engine Optimisations and Gameplay Updates - and today I’d like to share what I’ve been working on with regards to quality of life improvements.
Many of these are accessed via the new Options menu, and we’ll get to those in a moment, however first I’d like to share, hot on the new Options menu’s heels, the new Profile Editor!
The new editor completely overhauls the old and somewhat confusing interface by adopting the Options menu approach of navigability, primarily with a controller, but also with the keyboard and mouse. Each section of the Profile Editor is more thoughtfully laid out than previously as, over the years, the existing version had new features jammed in wherever they would fit - so now it’s much easier to find what you’re looking for to configure it. And, for my own benefit, the new layout also means it’s more easily extensible when adding new options and features in the future, hopefully preventing the menu once more becoming a jumbled mess.
With regards to new options, then, let’s start with the cosmetic improvements out on the course. Firstly, a much asked for feature, it’s now possible to change the colour of the tee markers. Note that this doesn’t actually change the position of the tee, it just allows some customisation of the way they look.
Secondly, on desktop builds of Super Video Golf, I’ve been experimenting with increasing the density of the grass effect in the rough. This can be a little taxing on lower end hardware, and is disabled completely on the Steam Deck, so it’s made optional within the graphics settings. I’m not entirely convinced by the effect yet, however, and it’s subject to change - though if you’d like to try it out you can by switching to the current beta on Steam. Feedback on your experience with performance is always welcome! 😁
From a quality of life perspective, based on community feedback, I’ve added an option to decrease the length of time for which the Action button needs to be held to skip the current shot while the ball is in flight. The two settings are ‘Normal’ which leaves the time as approximately 2 seconds and ‘Fast’ which will make the shot skip near instantaneously, labelled ‘Shot Animation Skip Speed’ in the Options.
I’ve also increased the size of the progress ‘toasts’ which pop up in the top right of the screen when a challenge is updated. If you have a 2k display or higher the size is doubled, up to 4k resolutions where the size is tripled that of the original.
Under Game Configuration it’s now possible to filter the leaderboards to display only other players who are on your Steam friends list. This puts a new, slightly more intimate, twist on the monthly challenge as you can now battle it out with your buddies at any time. By extension I’ve also added a new view into the Monthly Global league, where you can see a friends only view of that too.
And, also new to the leaderboards, is the Pro League - with both global and friends only views.
Available from the main menu, the Pro League is an extra-challenging 12 rounds of 18 holes which lasts one calendar month. All assists are automatically disabled, including both the Range Indicator Assist and Putt Assist. To add to the tension each round can only be played once - whatever your score that’s it for the month! Equipment upgrades are vital in this case, so make sure to use the new Profile Editor to upgrade your gear and make the most of the round.
With any luck this will be the final run-down before the update releases in the near future, along with the previously announced new course. I’ll be busy smoothing out any wrinkles from now until then, so please do try out the beta (available from the game’s properties in Steam) and get in touch via the discussions, group chat or Discord and let me know if there’s something not quite right!
That’s all for now though, I hope to see you on the green!
Happy Golfing! ⛳🏌️
Greetings Golfers! It's the third weekend of the month which means all day throughout the 14th - 15th February 2026 you'll be earning double XP when you play Super Video Golf! Weekend times are, unlike the monthly challenge, in your local timezone running from midnight to midnight - so you won't have to get up at 4am to scoop up those extra helpings of XP 😁 So, if you're looking to buff your stats and climb the ladder, now is the perfect opportunity! Hello again all! While progress is still being made on the next update to Super Video Golf I’ve also been taking a break throughout the end of December and January so this month’s post is going to be a little different.
First I just want to say a big Hello to the influx of new players who joined us in December (and everyone who has joined since!), either through the Sports Fest or the Winter Sale - Hello and Welcome!
Secondly, I’m happy to say that there will be a new course included in the next update, entitled Putt-stop In Paradise which, if you hadn’t guessed from the name, is a new 18 hole putting course 😁
Hopefully this course builds and improves upon the existing putting course (Terdiman Cliffs) by presenting interesting new obstacles as well as many more possibilities for (some quite tricky!) holes-in-one.
The course is set on a desert island, starting on the beach and running up and around the island’s volcano.
As with other courses, online leaderboards will be available - however rounds played on Putt-stop In Paradise won’t be included in the monthly league. You will be able to add it to the up-coming custom tournaments though!
Apologies for this briefer-than-usual update, however I will be going further into detail as to what else is cooking as soon as I can - so do look out for another post soon! For now though I hope you’re looking forward to the new course as much as I am sharing it with you 😁
Until the next one, as always:
Happy Golfing! ⛳🏌️

Howdy golfers! It’s time once more for a progress update, where we take a look at what I’ve been working on in preparation for the next release of Super Video Golf.
First of all let me just say a big Hello to all the newcomers - Steam’s Sports Fest has been a great success for Super Video Golf and it’s been wonderful to see all the new names climbing the leaderboard. Hello and Welcome! It’s great to have you here. 😁
In the last post I took an in-depth look at the optimisation I’ve been doing to the game engine - so this time we’ll change gear a little and take a look at some of the new game features coming up instead. Let’s dive in!
The first new feature coming in the next update is the ability to create custom tournaments in Career mode. This will allow you to add a 3rd tournament tree where you can create a custom tournament by selecting any of the available courses you wish, and give it your own tournament name. You can also create multiple tournaments and switch between them as you please. Not only does this add a little longevity to the Career mode it also means you can use the new (and any future!) DLC course as part of the tournament and play it in Career mode, which is something people have asked for.
Aside from this I’ve been working on the user interface in several places. In game there’s now an option to choose a more ‘accurate’ range indicator for the minimap. This version of the range indicator accounts for any terrain elevation and wind in real-time so you get a much clearer idea of where your ball will land (assuming you hit it straight 😅) - hopefully this will provide another option to tweak the gameplay to suit your own personal style. Along these lines there’s also a new ‘Minimal UI’ option which removes many of the UI elements, such as the minimap, completely, for a more sim-like feel. Both of these features can be toggled in the Options menu.
Oh yes, and there’s a new Options menu (finally!). I’ve actually had to take a run at this a couple of times, which is part of the reason the next update is taking so long, relatively speaking, but if I create a new Options menu I want it to actually be an improvement - and, if you’ve played the game for any length of time, you’ll have noticed user interface design is not my forté 😅. I hope the result is worth the wait.
The intent is that the menu is more easily navigable, particularly with a controller, but also, from my point of view, easier to update with new features in the future. Redrawing the old artwork by hand each time I added an option was a chore, and the updated version more easily lets me insert new options, organised in the correct place, than the old one. It also dynamically resizes to the current video resolution, to make the most of any screen real estate available.
In fact I’ve already added several new options, including the ones outlined above, such as an option to hide the hole transition behind a loading screen to reduce motion sensitivity, and the ability to adjust the speed of the measure widget used to measure the distance when putting. I have a couple more features planned which will be added too… I just need to figure out how I’m going to implement them in game first 😁
Given enough positive feedback on the Options menu I’d like to start rolling out the design to other parts of the interface, such as the Player Customisation menu, which too could use an overhaul.
While we’re on the menus, I’ve added a button to the Loadout menu which opens the Equipment Counter directly. I have no idea why I didn’t put it there before… 🤦
Elsewhere in the game I’ve taken Course 3 (Old Stemmer’s Lane) and given it a fresh lick of paint. Originally it was designed to have a more tropical feel to it, but somehow got stuck with the placeholder trees I used when I was first creating the course. Those are now gone and have been replaced with tropical plants, butterflies, crabs… even a rowing boat, all hemmed in with a new sandy beach. The course itself is still the same, so global leaderboards are unaffected.
Finally, I’ve been tackling a few QoL features though the todo list is still a little longer than I’d like. Notably, I’ve updated the game to mute the audio when the window loses focus - thanks to Skummeh for suggesting that! More will be done before the next update releases.
Everything above is currently available in the public beta - which can be found in the game’s properties in Steam under the beta tab. From there you can opt in (or out!) if you’d like to give any of it a try. I’d love to hear your feedback! If you do have any suggestions (or find a dreaded bug 😬) please do reach out via the Steam Group Chat the Discussions on Steam or Discord, and let me know, thanks!
That’s all for now though - as always a big thanks goes out to the community who make the game what it is and a joy to work on, Thank You! - until the next time,
Happy Golfing! ⛳🏌️
