・The default supported game controller setting has been changed from DirectInput to XInput. This change allows some game controllers that previously did not work to function properly.
You can also revert to the game controller settings used before this update by opening game.ini in the game folder and changing the following line:
GamePadDInput=1to
GamePadDInput=0・For the Black Flare enemies appearing in Stages 37, 41, and 47, the battle animation has been changed so that a simplified version is used from the second attack onward.
An issue introduced in the January update that prevented the game from launching on Steam Deck has been fixed.
We apologize for the inconvenience this issue may have caused.
We’ve released an update that allows you to change the screen resolution.
When you launch the game, a file named "game.ini" will be created.
Open "game.ini" and change this line:
HardwareFullScreen=0
to:
HardwareFullScreen=1
Then restart the game. After that, you’ll be able to change the resolution from the in-game Settings/Options.
Note: Enabling this setting will disable mouse input. You can play using a keyboard or a game controller.
If you want to scale up the game while keeping mouse support, you’ll need to use Windows display scaling as before (e.g., changing the scaling percentage in Windows Settings).
Please see the instructions on the store page for details.
・Fixed a bug where the game could become unplayable after a game over on Expert or Hardcore difficulty.
In Chapters 1–4, Civilians below Lv. 5 will gain +50 EXP at the end of the stage.
From Chapter 5 onward, base classes below Lv. 5 will gain +50 EXP at the end of the stage.
This EXP bonus will not cause an immediate level-up. EXP stops at 99.
This is a relief measure for units that have fallen behind in levels and become difficult to train. These bonuses apply only on Safety and Normal difficulty.
Fixed a bug where the battle background would not display on certain tiles.
・We now track which stats didn’t increase on level-up, and apply a catch-up adjustment on future level-ups. The adjustment is stronger for stats that are naturally more likely to grow, and weaker for stats that are harder to raise. Which stats tend to grow easily varies by unit. This tracking starts from level-ups that occur after the update.
・Increased the number of enemies in Stage 3, making it easier for Civilians to grow early. This is a balance adjustment for players who struggle with early-game Civilian training.
・Increased the amount of GOLD gained for defeating enemy units in the final stage. If you get a game over on the final stage and have to retry, you’ll have more GOLD available for the next attempt. This is a relief measure for players who are having trouble clearing the final stage. The difficulty is unchanged if you clear the final stage in a single run without getting a game over.
・You can now switch to full-screen mode from the “settings” command.
・Fixed several translation errors.
・Improved the initial parameters of some units:
Brad: Slightly increased his initial stats.
Rosanna: Lowered her initial level. Since her base parameters remain unchanged, she now has more opportunities to grow.
※These changes will not apply to save data in which the units have already appeared.
Brad’s adjustments apply only when loaded before Stage 19, and Rosanna’s adjustments apply only when loaded before Stage 27. Thank you for your understanding.
・Fixed an issue where some achievements were not unlocking properly.
・Fixed an issue from the previous update where the slime in Chapter 2 was able to move over water.
・Fixed an issue where the golem in Chapter 2 would sometimes not revive under certain conditions.
・Corrected some typographical errors.
Update Details
Added new difficulty: "Hardcore"
Buffed several classes
Added new purchasable items
Added new hints
Fixed minor bugs & typos
New Difficulty: Hardcore
Becomes available after clearing the game once.
Enemies are significantly stronger.
If you level up beyond the class change requirement without promoting, EXP gained will decrease.
In this difficulty only, Haino, Ena, Celia, Taylor, Grem, Leticia, and Marcella have their growth rates for ATK, MAG, and DEF increased by +10%.
As with "Normal," units reduced to 0 HP can deploy again from the next stage, and even if you are wiped out, you can retry as many times as you like while keeping EXP.
Class Buffs
Lord Knight
Sword Dancer
Already strong classes, but given the effort required to create them, they have been further strengthened.
Rune Lancer
A strong class for suitable units, but since it had a high entry barrier to reach full potential, it has been made more appealing to use.
Bow Knight
Compared to Paladin and Sniper, it was slightly underwhelming, so ATK has been increased.
Assassin
HP slightly increased.
Note: When loading save data from previous versions, some units may appear with slightly reduced HP on the battle preparation screen due to these adjustments. This will resolve itself as you progress through the game.
New Purchasable Items
In the later part of the game, the new item "Ancient Ring" can be purchased.
After a total party wipe in Stage 47, additional shop items will become available (except on Expert difficulty).
Additional Hints
More hints have been added to help you progress through the game.
・You can disable the automatic save window at the beginning of each turn by turning off "Turn Start Save Prompt" in the "Settings" menu.
・Fixed a bug where, under certain conditions, some characters' epilogues would not play correctly during the ending.
・Corrected a graphical error in the MVP character display at the ending.
Physical attack classes will no longer randomly receive Magic stat increases.
Magic attack classes will no longer randomly receive Strength stat increases.
Civilians will still be able to increase both stats as before.
Between July 24 and July 26, there was a bug affecting stat growth rate calculations. This has been fixed.
Minor bugs such as typos have also been corrected.
We have fixed an issue where certain achievements were not unlocking even after meeting the required conditions.
