Greetings Captains,
You probably thought traversing the Delta Quadrant was already enough of an adventure … but apparently we are only getting started.
Past
Over the last weeks, we’ve seen countless stories, screenshots, feedback posts, theories, bug reports (yes, many discussions about manual saving and difficulty levels), and an incredible amount of passion from all of you. Seeing the Star Trek community embrace Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown the way it has, continues to be surreal for everyone here at gameXcite & Daedalic.
Since launch, we have already updated the game several times with a variety of fixes, balancing and quality-of-life improvements based directly on your feedback, new content and new features including:
Tom Paris’ legendary shuttle was added as a free update and can appear in missions and points of interest - including its own dedicated ship quest. And we are not done yet!
Present
With today’s update, we are officially launching the Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown Expansion Pass as well as the first of 4 DLCs: Delta Chronicles.
At the same time, Patch 1.8 is now live for all players, continuing our ongoing efforts to improve and expand the game experience for everyone aboard the U.S.S. Voyager with numerous balancing changes and bug fixes as well as 7 new ship quests/events ("The Replicator Bypass", "Gel Pack Dilemma", "To Eat or to Empty", "Prixin", "A Lesson of Ethics", "A Soul Divided", and "Forever the Ensign").
But first things first…
Delta Chronicles DLC
Delta Chronicles brings five new side missions inspired by some of the most beloved episodes in Star Trek: Voyager history.
Without spoiling too much, you’ll revisit themes and ideas from episodes such as:
“Distant Origin”
“The Omega Directive”
“Homestead""
“Cold Fire”
“Inside Man”
As always, your decisions matter - and some of them might have consequences you absolutely did not see coming.
Additionally, two new heroes are joining your roster:
Reginald Barclay (holographic Barclay, anyone?!)
Professor Forra Gegen, a Voth molecular paleontologist
Both come with their own unique combat abilities and playstyles.
We are also expanding the galaxy itself with new NPC ships and encounters, including:
the mighty Voth City Ship
a Ferengi Marauder that can potentially become your ally
additional faction ships and encounters across the quadrant
And of course: new technologies and other surprises waiting to be discovered.
Future
Free Updates
Beyond the Expansion Pass content, we are continuing to work on additional free updates for all players. This includes:
We are not quite ready to fully talk about that last one yet.
But let’s just say: the Delta Quadrant may soon become even stranger than before, adding many more hours of gameplay, challenging even seasoned Captains!
Expansion Pass
The Expansion Pass itself is our roadmap for the months ahead.
In total, it will include four premium DLCs, adding major new content to the game:
new story missions with all the “What If” Scenarios the game is known for
new playable characters, among them some fan-favorites
the U.S.S. Equinox as a playable ship (for the soon to be announced game mode)
a new sector based on one of Voyager’s most famous episodes
We will reveal more details over the coming months - step by step, as we get closer to each release. For those of you that don’t own the game yet and don’t need, or rather, want to wait for further information, you can already purchase the Captain’s Collection, which will give you immediate access not just to the base game, but to the Deluxe Edition Content and all four Expansion Pass DLCs, when they go live.
Thank You
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support we’ve received since launch.
From launch celebrations in Discord, to bug reports, fan theories, memes, emotional mission reactions, and all the discussions around choices and consequences:
You continue to shape this game together with us.
The Delta Quadrant is vast.
And our journey through it is far from over - most importantly, because there’s always coffee in that (next) nebula!
