The full version of Star Dice will officially launch on Steam on July 30, 2026!

The release will bring the complete experience, new challenges, and even more possibilities for dice building and strategic combinations.

The demo has been updated with a brand-new stage, Gamma Spaceship, available to play right now. Simply download the demo from the Steam store page and start your adventure.

This is the first major update since the release of the Star Dice Demo. The main focus is adding controller support, with testing performed on Steam Deck.

This update also includes several fixes and adjustments to improve the overall experience. Changes:

• Added full controller support

• Playable on Steam Deck

• Stardust effect and game speed settings are now saved to player data and will persist between sessions

• Added a Stardust Effect toggle in the settings menu

• Fixed an issue where Steam links in the menu could not open properly

Relic Adjustments:

• Orion : “Gain Reward ×50%” → “Gain Energy Reward ×50%”

• Sagittarius : Activation condition: Total number ≤ 24 → ≤ 28

• Pyxis : Stardust shards +1200 → +1500

• Vela : Stardust shards +1200 → +1500

• Sculptor : Stardust multiplier stack 0.3 → 0.4

• Telescopium : Stardust shards +500 → +1200

• Boötes : Stardust multiplier stack 0.1 → 0.2

• Camelopardalis : Stardust shards +500 → +1000

Improved tutorial flow for new players

Relic adjustment: Monoceros

Extra Reward when passing the Star increased from +3 to +5

This update introduces new playable content and includes some UI fixes.

Changes:

Added a new Four-Color Relic Pack (Blue / Red / Purple / Yellow, each focusing on Line Score, Line Multi, Stardust Piece, and Stardust Multi)

Fixed text size issues in some descriptions and Stardust gain displays

This is a quick fix addressing an issue that was missed in the previous update.

Fixed an issue where records were displayed incorrectly on the results screen

Added notifications when the number of resonance relics or enchantments exceeds the limit

Fixed a data overflow issue when gaining Stardust

Optimized the tutorial flow to improve the new player experience Added a save data fix feature to ensure data integrity after version updates

Hello everyone,

The Star Dice Playtest will officially end on January 12 (next Monday).

I would like to sincerely thank all players who participated and shared their feedback. Your input has been invaluable in helping us refine and finalize the core systems of the game.

After the Playtest ends, I will move into the final preparation phase for the Demo,

which is scheduled to launch on January 23 (the following Friday).

The Demo will include:

Additional playable content and system adjustments

A more complete single-voyage experience

A preview version leading up to the full release (not a Playtest)

About future development:

After the Demo is released, development on the full version will continue,

including more spaceships, higher difficulty levels, expanded build possibilities,

and features exclusive to the full release.

Pacing Adjustments

Increased the base game speed to reduce waiting and downtime

Adjusted multiple sound effect triggers and timing to provide more immediate feedback

Overall gameplay flow is smoother, with clearer chain reactions and burst moments

Relic Adjustments

Updated the functionality of some relics to improve strategic depth and fun

Fine-tuned numerical balance to bring different builds closer in performance

Reduced reliance on “must-pick” relics to encourage more build experimentation

Destiny System

Added new Destiny modifiers, introducing more situational variety

Removed some effects with overly narrow conditions or low impact

The feedback I've received since the playtest release has been invaluable.

This update includes a game report, which many players suggested, allowing for better sharing of build.

A "try again" feature for the tutorial has also been added.

Many interface displays have been updated, focusing on providing clearer information for players.

I will continue to update this feature, thank you for your support.

Update Content:

• Modified the position of dice information display in the Data Center

• Added automatic confirmation of whether dice are available for gem upgrades

• When using dice to upgrade gems, unusable dice will fade out in the Data Center and become unclickable

• Added description text for using gems

• Added sound effects for using gems

• Added a tutorial reset button to replay the tutorial

• Added a mouse hover indicator to the persistent status bar at the bottom of the game for detailed information

• Added a "read all" button for one item in the collect book

• Added (Star Report)

• Fixed an error in selecting items in the shop

• Added a Stardust effect switch

• Added a notification for insufficient Star Coins required for Resonance

After the Playtest release, I received a lot of interesting suggestions.

I’m slowly going through them while planning the future development direction.

This is the first content update, focusing mainly on Destiny effects.

All previously “purely negative” Destiny effects have been adjusted.

They are now changed into “unknown outcome” effects — meaning their results may be good or bad depending on the player’s situation.

There are also updates to display and descriptions to make the game clearer.

Update Notes

• Adjusted several Destiny keywords.

• Added corresponding dice and keyword display during Destiny activation.

• Increased the pause time at the end of Destiny execution, giving players more time to confirm the result.

• Updated the start screen: settings moved to the main button area, with new hover tooltips.

• Added explanation that elemental dice in Resonance will now trigger relic fusion simultaneously.

• Resonance cost changed from increasing by 5 Star coin each time to 2 Star coin.

• Escape Destiny cost reduced to 5 Star coin.

• Equipment cost reduced by 3 Star coin.

This is the first update after the Playtest release.

It’s a quick patch addressing the main issue with screen display and resolution.

Ultra-wide screens should now display correctly in fullscreen mode.

Update:

• Fixed ultra-wide screen display bug.

• Adjusted font size and formatting for some in-game text.

Hi everyone, I’m L! My solo-developed strategy Roguelike Star Dice is now officially entering its Playtest phase!

The purpose of this Playtest is to let everyone experience the core gameplay, help me adjust balance, fix bugs, and improve pacing. Every piece of feedback you give will directly influence the direction of the final version!

About the Game

Star Dice is a single-player Roguelike strategy game that combines dice-rolling tactics with slot-machine-style line matching.

Roll your dice → form special patterns → score points → convert points into Stardust → use Star Coins to buy items and relics → travel to the next special planet → and try to build the strongest, craziest high-score setup!

Core Gameplay

• Arrive at a Planet : Each planet has unique rules that change your strategy.

• Roll & Reroll Dice : Choose which dice to keep and how to form the best pattern.

• Score → Stardust : All points are converted into Stardust.
