The vocal track “Theia,” featured in 『Staffer Retro : A Supernatural Mystery Quest』, has been released.

* Improved localization in several languages. We will continue to make further improvements.
* Fixed an issue where a certain character in Act 3 looked unnatural when horizontally flipped. (Further improvements are planned.)
* Added an option to disable the typing sound played during dialogue.
* Improved the RESTORY-RETRO tutorial.
* Fixed a bug that allowed saving in situations where saving should not have been possible.
* The afterstory will no longer play after viewing the false ending in Act 2.
* Fixed an issue where some hint functions did not work properly.
* Revised dialogue that did not fit the setting or sounded unnatural.
* Revised document information that did not fit the situation or sounded unnatural.
* Fixed reported typos.
* Fixed various other minor issues.
* The Windows version will be updated first. The Mac version is scheduled to be available within 20 hours after the Windows update.
The estimated playtime of “approximately 30 hours” previously listed on the Steam store page was based on actual play records from our testing company and prerelease reviewers.
However, after reviewing the experiences of general players following release, we found that actual playtime varied significantly by player and generally ranged from approximately 15 to 25 hours. We also recognized that this differed from our previous estimate of “approximately 30 hours.”
Although the estimate had a basis, we sincerely apologize for ultimately providing inaccurate information. We will therefore remove the phrase “approximately 30 hours” from the Steam store page.
We understand that playtime is an important factor when deciding whether to purchase a game. In the future, we will consider a wider range of play environments and player experiences so that we can provide information more accurately and carefully.
We will formally address this matter again in the improvement patch announcement scheduled for this week.

In this announcement, we would like to share the 1.1.1 patch notes, along with information on improvements currently under discussion and our plans to improve the Simplified Chinese translation. Patch Notes Display-related 1. Fixed typos reported on the release day (July 23). 2. Improved the readability of Emilia's name display. 3. Adjusted the placement of some UI graphic resources. 4. Fixed several text errors. 5. Fixed an issue in the Act 1 opening where the dialogue order was reversed in certain languages. Issue Resolution Fixed an issue where the settings screen flickered while streaming with OBS. Due to Smart App Control included in recent Windows updates, the game may not launch properly immediately after updating. We appreciate your understanding. Upcoming Improvements We are currently discussing the improvements that many of you have requested, and we plan to deliver patches for the confirmed items as soon as they are finalized. Planned Simplified Chinese Translation Improvements Some of our players in China shared that they felt the current translation could better capture the intended tone. As a result, we have decided to work with our translation partner to improve the quality of the Simplified Chinese localization. In our previous announcement, we shared that Staffer Retro will launch on July 23. Time has flown by, and the day when we can finally share the story we've been creating with all of you is now just around the corner.
Over the past months, our team has continued development while taking on new challenges and meeting new people through our crowdfunding campaigns in Korea and Japan, our participation in BitSummit and PlayX4, and the launch of Nintendo Switch package pre-orders. Most importantly, we've been encouraged every step of the way by the support and enthusiasm shown by our fans.
With launch day approaching, Steam Next Fest will be the last major online event where players can experience Staffer Retro before release.
To give as many people as possible a chance to discover the game, we have decided to participate in Steam Next Fest.
Steam Next Fest will take place during the following period:
Start: June 16, 2026, 02:00 AM KST (GMT+9) / June 15, 2026, 10:00 AM PDT
End: June 23, 2026, 02:00 AM KST (GMT+9) / June 22, 2026, 02:00 AM PDT
Duration: 7 days (approximately 1 week)
To celebrate our participation in Steam Next Fest, we will be releasing Act 2 (Episode 2) as a limited-time update to the demo version.
Until now, the demo has only included Act 1 (Episode 1). During Steam Next Fest, players will be able to experience Act 2 free of charge.
Act 2 will only be available during the Steam Next Fest period. Once the event ends, access to Act 2 will be removed regardless of future demo updates, and it will not become playable again until the game's full release.
This version of Act 2 will also include voice acting. If you've been eager to see what happens next or want a deeper look into the world of Staffer Retro, we hope you'll take this opportunity to play it!
The Act 2 update will go live simultaneously with the start of Steam Next Fest.

Save data from previous demo versions is not compatible.
Many features and improvements suggested by players in earlier versions have been implemented in this update.
Because this version contains a particularly large number of structural changes, maintaining compatibility with older save data was unfortunately not possible.
For this reason, save data from Version 0.9.V1 onward will be stored separately.

Hello, this is Team Tetrapod. We are pleased to share some new updates regarding Staffer Retro : A Supernatural Mystery Quest.
Staffer Retro : A Supernatural Mystery Quest is scheduled for a simultaneous release on PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch. This will be the first title in the series to launch simultaneously on multiple platforms, and we are working to ensure that more players can enjoy the game at the same time.
In addition, this title is also planned to include full voice acting, which we believe will further enhance both the charm of the characters and the immersion of the story.
Team Tetrapod is also preparing a crowdfunding project in order to communicate more actively with our fans.
Japan: planned to be held through CAMPFIRE
Korea: planned to be held through Tumblbug, targeting the entire Staffer series

Our first title, “Staffer Case: A Supernatural Mystery Adventure”, our second title “Staffer Reborn”, and our upcoming new release scheduled for 2026, “Staffer Retro: A Supernatural Mstery quest”, are participating in the Steam Mystery Games Festival.
This official Steam event runs for one week, from 10:00 AM PST on 13 January 2026 until 10:00 AM PST on 20 January 2026. During the event, Staffer Case will be discounted by 39% and Staffer Reborn by 38%.
