From the beginning, Special Request was designed to offer multiple ways to experience the story.
The Full Game and the Kinetic Modes share the same world and major plot points, but they were never intended to deliver identical experiences. Instead, each mode serves a distinct purpose and offers a different level of player involvement.
The Full Game is the complete version of the experience.
Laura's decisions, personality development, relationships, discoveries, and many optional events are all driven by your choices. As the story progresses, the amount of branching will continue to grow.
Chapter 2 already contains scenes and character moments that simply can not exist in the Kinetic Modes. From Chapter 3 onwards, these differences become much larger as Laura's personality begins to follow increasingly irreversible paths.
By the end of Chapter 4, your decisions can lead to six possible endings. Along the way, your journey is further shaped by optional content, hidden discoveries, unlocked events, and numerous smaller decisions made throughout the game.
In other words, every playthrough changes not only the ending, but also parts of the journey itself.
The Kinetic Modes were designed for players who prefer a more streamlined, linear experience. Rather than allowing you to shape Laura's development, they present two predefined versions of the story:
Pure Arc — Laura consistently resists corruption.
Corrupt Arc — Laura fully embraces the path of corruption.
These modes intentionally remove player agency over Laura's character arc, as well as optional storylines, bonus scenes, and route-specific events that are exclusive to the Full Game.
They are not separate stories—they are condensed versions of two distinct paths through the larger narrative. As a result, they are naturally shorter than the Full Game.
This is especially true for Pure Kinetic.
Special Request is fundamentally an adult corruption story. While the Pure route remains an important part of Laura's overall narrative, it naturally contains fewer corruption-driven events than the other paths. As the story progresses through Chapters 3 and 4, the Pure route will continue to diverge, following its own unique progression towards a dedicated ending.
If you want the complete experience, including every investigation, optional storyline, branching choice, hidden event, and the ability to shape Laura's personality, the Full Game is the intended way to play Special Request.
If you prefer a more streamlined, linear version of the story, the Kinetic Modes remain a perfectly valid choice.
Just keep in mind that they represent two of the six major story routes and are intentionally designed to be shorter than the full interactive experience.
Thank you for supporting the project!
