After what felt like an endless review process, Chapter 2 has finally been approved by Steam.

The review itself turned into a small adventure. First, there was a missing Content Survey category that I couldn't even edit because Steam automatically locked it after review. Once that was resolved, Steam asked for a more detailed description of the mature content. Fortunately, those were the final hurdles, and Chapter 2 has now passed review with no remaining blocking issues.

The release is scheduled for July 3.

Thank you to everyone for your patience, encouragement, and support throughout this process. I know many of you have been waiting much longer than expected.

While Chapter 2 continues through the Steam review process, I decided to use the time to revisit Chapter 1 and make a few improvements.

This update includes:

• Steam Achievements

• Mac support fixes

• Various small improvements and adjustments

The achievement system has long been something I’ve wanted to add, and it’s finally here. Whether you're discovering Chapter 1 for the first time or returning to explore different routes, there are now goals to unlock along the way.

The Mac version has also received some attention and should now work properly through the Steam client.

As for Chapter 2, it has been submitted and is under review. As soon as I receive approval from Valve, I'll announce the official release date.

To celebrate the update, Chapter 1 will also be available at 25% off for the next two weeks.

After months of writing, rendering, coding, testing, rewriting, fixing things I broke myself, and then fixing the fixes...

Chapter 2 is complete on my side.

Today I submitted the final build to Steam for review.

At this point, the remaining timeline largely rests with Steam. Review times can vary, especially for larger Adult Only releases, so I don't want to announce an exact release date until I receive approval.

As soon as that happens, I'll publish the official release date immediately.

In the meantime, I'll be using the waiting period to polish Chapters 2 and 2, add Steam achievements, and make a few improvements that have been on my list for a while.

This week, I made a terrible mistake.

I decided to “take a short break from rendering” and focus on coding instead.

Naturally, this immediately turned into two straight days of suffering.

Apparently, it was not enough to simply create a system where you can ask Laura questions.

I also had to make her responses work dynamically, independently from fixed image sequences, while still allowing interaction flow and command variations during scenes.

At some point, I stopped programming and entered a spiritual conflict with my own code.

But it works now.

Moments like this are when Chapter 2 starts feeling real to me.

Because the systems underneath the game are becoming larger, more reactive, and much harder to hold together.

Which honestly fits Chapter 2 perfectly.

Chapter 1 was about entering this world.

Chapter 2 is where the pressure starts pushing back.

If everything continues at the current pace, Chapter 2 should be finished on my side in roughly two weeks. After that, it goes to Steam review — and from there, the timeline becomes slightly more mysterious.

The remaining work is still substantial, but for the first time, I can genuinely feel the finish line getting closer.

Chapter 2 has reached another major milestone.

I’ve been focusing a lot on setting expectations and clarifying what the game is over the past couple of posts.

So here’s a more direct update on Chapter 2.

At this point, roughly three-quarters of the visual content is complete.

That includes a large portion of the scenes and animations, and the remaining work now focuses on finalising the final segments and bringing everything together.

If things continue at the current pace, Chapter 2 should be completed in about a month and then submitted for Steam review.

While waiting for approval, I’ll use that time to polish both Chapter 2 and Chapter 1 — tightening some scenes, improving flow, and adding a few additional elements, including Steam achievements.

Chapter 2 is significantly larger in scope, and you’ll start to feel that difference quite early on.

I’ve seen a wide range of reactions to Chapter 1, so I want to clarify something up front.

Special Request is not a fast-paced adult game.

It’s a slow-burn, choice-driven story about pressure, reputation, and corruption. The adult content is there, but it develops gradually and is tied to the narrative — not delivered as an immediate payoff.

If you’re looking for instant gratification, Chapter 1 will likely feel slow.

If you enjoy tension, character-driven progression, and decisions that build over time — that’s when the game starts to open up.

Chapter 1 lays the foundation. Chapter 2 is where things begin to shift.

Chapter 2 has reached an important milestone.

All images and animations for the first week are now complete.

In terms of volume, this single week already contains more events and visual content than all of Chapter 1 combined.

Chapter 2 is shaping up to be significantly larger and more complex than Chapter 1.

This week, I’m shifting focus to implementation — coding the first week in full to evaluate pacing, flow, and overall structure before moving forward.

Overall, more than half of the work on Chapter 2 is now complete.

Over the past week, I've been deep in the writing phase for Chapter 2.

More than half of the Chapter 2 dialogue is now complete, and I expect to finish the remaining half this week.

For me, this is always the most challenging part of development. Images and animations are different kinds of work, but dialogue demands constant concentration because nearly every line influences pacing, tone, and character motivation.

Chapter 2 is becoming noticeably more dynamic than Chapter 1. The branching paths start to diverge more significantly, and several story threads begin to head in very different directions depending on the player's choices.

Once the dialogue is finished, I will return to image rendering and animation production next week.

• The image count is higher.

• The animation count is higher.

But that isn’t the real difference.

• Chapter 1 established tone and direction.

• Chapter 2 changes weight.

The escalation is both structural and psychological.

The adult content expands as a consequence.

It grows from repetition. From proximity. From decisions that stop feeling exceptional.

• Delegation grows.

• Visibility turns into exposure.

• Silence gains significance.

From this point onward, perception matters as much as action.

Some systems that felt stable in Chapter 1 begin to operate differently in Week 4.

Last week was a major production push.

For Chapter 2, I completed:

• 900+ images were completed last week alone

• 14 animated sequences

Chapter 2 expands the world far beyond Chapter 1 — not only in size, but in consequence.

Paths begin to diverge more sharply.

Small decisions carry a heavier weight.

Week 4, in particular, moves Laura into territory where protection, loyalty, and control no longer feel the same.

What appears stable at first begins to fracture.

Chapter 2 has a darker tone but a more complex structure. Each path interprets events differently, making the emotional cost more apparent.

This chapter is significantly larger than Chapter 1.

Some players see Chapter 1 as a dual structure: Pure or Corrupt.

That impression makes sense. Chapter 1 establishes Laura’s initial direction under pressure. It forces a line to be drawn.

But Special Request is not built around two endings.

The game offers three play modes:

• Full Interaction

• Kinetic (Pure)

• Kinetic (Corrupt)

The Kinetic modes are not alternative narratives. They are curated psychological extremes — versions where the maximum Pure or maximum Corrupt choices are made for you. They are designed for players seeking a streamlined, dramatic experience without the need to make decisions.

The full experience, however, is not binary.

• Chapter 1 establishes direction.

• Chapter 2 introduces divergence.

From Chapter 2 onwards, corruption is no longer a single arc. Perception, reputation, and key character reactions begin to reshape how Laura is treated — and what becomes available to her. Not just what she does — but how others interpret it.

Across the four chapters, your choices build up. The story is crafted to result in several truly different final outcomes—not just variations on the same ending, but unique conclusions shaped over time.

Special Request was never meant to be a morality slider. It is a long-form psychological escalation system.

And Chapter 1 is only the foundation.

One concern I’ve seen a few times—and one I understand—is whether Special Request is the kind of project that drags on for years.

It isn’t.

From the outset, this story was designed as a definite four-chapter arc, not an open-ended episodic release. Chapter 1 introduces the invitation: protection, framing, and the illusion that things remain manageable.

Everything that follows exists to dismantle that safety, step by step.

The current development plan is clear:

• Chapter 2 — planned for June

• Chapter 3 — planned for December

• Final chapter — planned for next year

All chapters are designed to import choices and consequences forward. This is not a reset-based structure, nor is it a live service model. What happens carries significance.

• Chapter 2 is a point of no return.

• Chapter 3 is where pressure turns irreversible.

• The final chapter resolves what the invitation set in motion.

Chapter 1 was never meant to stand alone — but it was meant to prove that the story is moving, controlled, and going somewhere specific.

With the release of Chapter 1 now behind us, the project has officially moved past its introductory phase.

Chapter 1 was a slow-burning opening that established characters, tone, and direction. Now, development shifts to Chapter 2, where the story, content, and intensity will significantly escalate.

Chapter 2 will cover the following two in-game weeks, but within that scope, it allows for greater narrative momentum, more complex character dynamics, and longer events than the opening chapter.

While Chapter 1 was being released, rendering for the first three days of Chapter 2 had already been completed. Some events from those days are currently being revised and refined, with completion expected this week. Development will then advance directly into work on Day 4 of Chapter 2, starting next week.

Progress updates will be provided regularly moving forward. The next chapter of the story is already well in progress.

The release date for Special Request — Chapter 1 is now confirmed.

Chapter 1 will launch on 30 January.

At this stage, all core content is complete and locked. The remaining time before release is allocated for minor dialogue refinement and final consistency checks. No new scenes, systems, or features are being added.

Chapter 1 is neither a preview nor a prototype. It is designed as a complete entry point into the world of Special Request, with long-term narrative consequences already established.

There will be no countdown posts or launch hype. Any additional dev logs before release will be limited to practical notes, if necessary.

Thank you to everyone who has followed or wishlisted the project. Your interest made it possible to take the time needed to release this chapter properly.

All core content is complete, structured, and locked. What remains before release is limited to some dialogue polishing — not rewrites, new scenes, or changes to the overall structure.

In practical terms, Chapter 1 could be released at any moment.

The reason it has not been released yet is not due to technical issues or uncertainty about the game itself. It is a deliberate decision regarding timing and context.

Special Request was never intended as a pitch or prototype. Chapter 1 is not a demo designed to promise future depth — it is an entry into a world that already exists, with consequences, institutions, and long-term narrative significance. Releasing it prematurely, or without proper context, would undermine that purpose rather than serve it.

At this stage, nothing new is being added. The focus is on restraint: smoothing minor rough edges, refining the tone, and ensuring the experience opens exactly as intended.

The release timing will be announced once the context is properly established.

Until then, development remains intentionally quiet.

Lately, I’ve been concentrating less on visible features and more on the foundation that everything else rests on.

Chapter 1 is content-complete and already approved, but I revisited a few key scenes and re-rendered them with updated assets. The events themselves haven’t changed—the aim was consistency. Chapter 2 has been created with a higher visual baseline, and I want the transition between chapters to feel natural rather than abrupt.

At the same time, I’m refining the dialogue in Chapter 1 — not rewriting, but sharpening tone, subtext, and character intent. Special Request depends heavily on what is not explicitly said, so even minor adjustments are important.

Most of my current work involves behind-the-scenes tasks:

* preparing the initial structure of Chapter 2

* ensuring choices, flags, and variables transfer smoothly from Chapter 1

* confirming that the player’s path genuinely influences how the story develops from that point onward

Chapter 2 is broader in scope than Chapter 1 and introduces new narrative threads that will shape the rest of the game. Before moving forward, I want to be certain that the transition between chapters is solid — both narratively and technically.

This work isn’t very glamorous, but it’s essential. Once the groundwork is in place, everything that follows can move faster — and with fewer compromises.
