• FIX for achievements not unlocking on clients.
• FIX for achievements occasionally not unlocking on hosts.
• FIX for achievements not unlocking on hosts when a client unlocks an achievement with shared progress or world relevance.
• FIX: merchant input behavior was improved.
• Added a new notification when a trade gives the player an airship upgrade.
• Increased the duration of the death notification, as part of it was hidden by the transition.
• Added a new “Unstuck Airship” button to the settings. This teleports the airship high into the air so it can then be called back to the dock.
• FIX for inventory UIs becoming unresponsive with gamepad after a backpack upgrade. Currently fixed for: Chest, Furnace, Energy Furnace, Energy Generator, Postbox, and Recycler.
• FIX for the virtual gamepad keyboard unintentionally opening in Steam Big Picture Mode after editing signs.
• FIX for players not receiving the Diamond Achievement.
• Added feedback to the postbox when there is no power.
• Added a function that unlocks crafting recipes for players that they should already have unlocked through research. This should also fix the Beehive recipe bug, among other things.

Hey Solarpunk Community 👋, this is a more personal update from us. When we started working on Solarpunk, we never expected it to grow this much. We are a very small team. The core team behind Solarpunk has always been only two people. And yet here we are. Almost 1.2 million wishlists. So many Kickstarter supporters. A demo that has been played more than half a million times. Videos, articles, streams, comments, messages, and so many people looking forward to the game. That is incredible. We are deeply grateful for it. But it is also scary 😱. With this much attention, expectations can grow very quickly. Sometimes Solarpunk can look much bigger from the outside than it really is.

We know that some players might look at the wishlist number and expect a huge survival game made by dozens or hundreds of developers.

That is not what Solarpunk is. Solarpunk is not a giant studio production. It is not trying to compete with the biggest survival games in scope, content amount, or system depth.

Solarpunk is a calm, cozy, focused survival craft sandbox made by a tiny team with a lot of love. So before release, we want to be very clear about what Solarpunk is, and what it is not.

✅ Solarpunk is for you if you

Want a relaxed game without pressure A calm survival craft experience focused on peace, creativity, and slow progression. Enjoy building and decorating a cozy home base Housing, decoration, farming, and making your island feel like home are a big part of the game. Like farming, crafting, and improving your base The core loop is about gathering, crafting, farming, upgrading, and expanding. Want to play alone or relaxed with friends Solarpunk is made for solo play and small group cooperative play. Enjoy handcrafted islands and light exploration The world is handcrafted, not randomly generated. Exploration supports the sandbox and is intentionally light for a relaxing experience. Like sandbox goals after the main progression After around 20 hours, most of the main content is explored and the game then switches the focus to your home base, farm, decoration, and personal goals. Appreciate indie games Solarpunk is made by a very small core team and is designed as a focused, cozy experience.

❌ Solarpunk is not for you if you

Expect PvP or competitive multiplayer There is no PvP, no raids, no base attacks, and no competitive survival gameplay. Want a story driven game Solarpunk has no story campaign and no narrative quest progression. Expect a huge open world with endless exploration The game has a limited set of handcrafted islands and two biomes, but is not built around endless world discovery.

Want hundreds of hours before reaching the sandbox The main progression can be completed in around 20 hours. Want dedicated multiplayer servers or crossplay There are no public servers. One player hosts the game. There is no crossplay. Expect combat, deep character creation, or AAA scale systems The character editor is simple, and the game is not trying to match large studio survival games in scope.

Why we are sharing this?

We do not want anyone to buy Solarpunk for the wrong reasons.

We want you to buy it if you are excited about a peaceful survival craft game where you build a cozy home base, farm, decorate, explore handcrafted islands, and spend relaxed time alone or with friends.

And if you expected PvP, a big story campaign, endless exploration, deep combat, huge public servers, or hundreds of hours of main progression, that is totally okay too. In that case, Solarpunk might simply not be the right game for you.

We would rather be honest now than let expectations become something we cannot fulfill.

Thank you for giving this tiny project so much attention. Thank you for wishlisting, playing the demo, backing us, watching videos, sharing feedback, and believing in Solarpunk.

We can finally say it: Solarpunk is launching on June 8.

During the Triple I Showcase, we officially revealed our release date, and after four years of development, this moment feels incredibly special to us. For most of that journey, Solarpunk was built by just the two of us, step by step, with a lot of passion, persistence, and probably more coffee than we should admit.

As many of you know, the release has been delayed more than once along the way. Game development is rarely a straight line, especially for a small team, and bringing Solarpunk to the finish line took more time than we originally hoped. But getting here now makes this moment even more meaningful.

Solarpunk 1.0 will release on June 8 on PC (Steam, GoG, Epic), Xbox, Playstation & Nintendo Switch 2.

We are also very proud to share that the console porting is being handled by Mi'pu'mi Games, a highly experienced and renowned veteran team. They have contributed to major titles such as HITMAN and Indiana Jones, and we are incredibly excited to have a studio with that level of experience helping bring Solarpunk to more players.

After working on Solarpunk for so long, it is hard to put into words how much this means to us. We are proud, relieved, excited, and above all just happy that you will finally be able to play the game very soon.

Today we finally get to share something we have been working on for a while, our brand new Co op Gameplay Trailer, revealed during IGN Fan Fest. This is our first trailer in around one and a half years 👀, and it focuses on a part of Solarpunk we have not shown much before, co op moments, shared building, exploring, and just enjoying the world together.

We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been playing the Beta. We have received a lot of valuable feedback already, and we are currently implementing it step by step to make the game better with every update.

Solarpunk is still mainly developed by two people, so things take time, but we are steadily polishing the game with every update, and your feedback genuinely helps us get it there.

Building on previous playtests, the Beta introduces a more polished experience with various tweaks and improvements based on community feedback. It’s a good moment to jump in, test things out, and help us move closer to release.

🌿 What’s new since the Alpha? 

In the meantime, we definitely didn’t sleep on development! We’ve been working hard to improve and expand Solarpunk. Some of the highlights include:

• Death is less punishing. You now only lose 15 percent hunger and thirst, no double penalty

• Ping system added. You can mark locations for other players. Shortcut G

• Chests now support sorting and quick stacking

• Animal AI completely rewritten. Animals react to their environment, move correctly, avoid each other, and find food and water more reliably

• Optional simplified flight mode. Wind no longer affects the airship

• Transport Drone reworked and available earlier. Starts with one slot, can be upgraded later. Only flies when there is something to pick up and free inventory space

• Automatic Drills no longer produce stone as a byproduct. Stone can now be mined at dedicated drill spots in the world

• Automatic Fisher has a new role and is mainly used to collect algae for advanced crafting

• New world option to share Research Table unlocks across all players

• Signs are available much earlier so you can label your base from the start

• Weather system reworked and more consistent in multiplayer. Rain collectors now fill even if you skip rainy nights by sleeping

• Improved Airship Dock. When powered, you can target it with your airship and activate a boost to reach distant locations faster

• Recycler replaced by a Post Box. Send items to the merchant to receive tickets for the vending machine.

• Sheep are now attracted by corn, not wheat

• Gamepad controls greatly improved and expanded

• Manual Switch now unlocks together with the Weather Station, enabling simple logic setups

• Automatic water and food troughs added.

• Torch can now be crafted via Quick Craft

• More plants added to the world for gathering.

Known Issues

• Automatic Food Trough currently generates food from energy. This will be changed in an upcoming update to use an inventory instead

• Completing all merchant trades leaves one extra blueprint. This is reserved for a future update

• Drones cannot transport items with durability, such as tools

With the Beta now live, we’re entering the final stretch. After this testing phase, the next major step is the full release.

We want to make sure it truly feels special when you finally get to play it, so we made the decision to move the release to next year. 

🚶What are the next steps?

After the single-player playtest, we made some changes based on your feedback.

• Inventory management: Players really want “craft from storage,” sorting options, and bigger stack sizes.

• Airship controls: Some found flying a bit too sensitive and wished for an autopilot option for long trips.

• Early-game pacing: Cotton grows too slowly and tools break too fast, making the early hours grindy.

• Late-game goals: Players want more content, quests, and reasons to keep exploring.

• Performance: Thunderstorms caused FPS drops and lightning bugs that sometimes hit players unfairly.

• Animal systems: Some pathfinding issues caused animals to get stuck and stop producing.

• Controller support: Needs more polish to fully support controller and Steam Deck play.

• Tutorials: Players asked for clearer explanations for systems like electricity and crop sheltering.

• Rain sensors that can disable sprinklers when it rains
• Day/Night sensors to automatically turn on your lights at night
• The system opens up creative possibilities!
• There’s also now an electric version of the furnace, instead of using materials, it runs on electricity.

🐮 Animals Are (Almost) Here!

• Animals are now implemented on the programming side and ready for testing
• We implemented the breeding system
• Happy animals produce loot
• Animals get a random name when they spawn – but you can rename them using an Animal Tag
• Animal transport is now possible! You can use a Transport Item to send animals to a Receiving Station you place anywhere on your base
• Certain items (like the Beehive) can now only be placed in specific biomes. No bees in the snowy mountains, it's just too cold!

• You only respawn in bed if it’s actually inside a house with a floor (no more falling into the void!)
• A Recycler lets you turn almost anything into "Recycling Points" (name might change). You’ll use these points to unlock skins and fun extras from the vending machine

• New item icons, recipes, and tutorial text
• Balanced airship stats and trading quests
• Fixed bugs, improved island positioning, and added new plants
• Now, when you die, you drop your items with a particle effect so you can easily find them again
• Several bugs in the energy system have been ironed out
• Fixed a crash related to inventory items and crafting/rewards
• Starving in the airship now works correctly
• Diamond tools are finally fully functional
• Performance has been significantly improved across the board

📑 Summary of what we have done in the last weeks!

• Building System
• Changed the building system from collision channels to a tag snap system. So we theoretically have an infinite number of snap possibilities for example: Walls, roof slopes, columns, decorations, plants, electronic components and so on. Previously we were very limited in this respect.
• There is now a system with which buildings can have special rules for building in individual cases. For example, carpets can be placed under furniture if the furniture is already in place. Wall shelves automatically rotate towards the wall so that they hang from it. Hanging plants can only be hung from the ceiling up to a certain angle and so on.
• A system has been built in which ensures that buildables like decorations, cannot be built into each other. Due to a limitation in the Unreal engine, dynamic previews that have not yet been built can only have "simple collisions", which consist of boxes or similar simple shapes. However, we wanted it to be possible to place a candle on the edge of a furnace (for example). We therefore developed the system so that every buildable object has two possible collisions. A simple one for building and a complex (much more precise) one when the object is built. This way we can have the best of both worlds if necessary.

• Building preview is no longer displayed if you have a placeable in your hand and a UI open
• "Building rules" such as "Can only be built on land" or "Can only be built on water" have been added.
• Floating water drone rework (which you can already see in the trailers). Now has floats that limit the area in which the drone fishes items out of the water and a box in which the drone brings the items, where you can then collect them as a player.
• Sky environment improved. Clouds have been reworked. The sun now shines through the clouds better and adapts to the colour mood of the sun.
• Weather system improved. Now have more control over weather changes and leaves and sticks fly through the air during thunderstorms
• System prototyped so that you can be hit by whirling objects in a storm and take damage. It also takes into account the direction the wind is coming from, so you can take cover behind hills or walls from flying things.

User Interface (UI) Overhaul:

• Revamped UI for easier navigation, including main menu, player inventory, chest inventory, furnace, research table, crafting menu, and more.
• Added functionality to display recipes not craftable at the current location (some recipes need a crafting table, others can be crafted without a crafting table).

Gameplay Enhancements:

• Battery is charged by the solar panel when exposed to sunlight
• Charges less quickly in the morning and evening than in the midday sun
• Also dependent on the weather. In the rain it charges slowly, in sunshine it charges quickly
• If covered by shade, also less charging power
• Flying consumes battery
• The faster you fly, the more energy the airship needs
• The small rotors also consume energy
• Light also consumes energy. (If you land at night and forget to switch off the light, your battery runs down because the solar panel does not charge the battery at night. So you shouldn't forget to switch the lights off again. Just like in a car)
• Solar charging indicator Indicates whether the battery is currently being charged or not

• Shows how far the airship is from the minimum and maximum altitude
• If the altitude is too low or too high, the autopilot switches on and automatically pulls the airship up/down again

• Free look around while flying
• 1st/3rd person camera

• Chest: The chest is not in the airship from the start, and you have to install it first
