We have released the following update.
Support for International Cat Day on August 8 Added 9 new achievements, including ones related to International Cat Day
We have also fixed minor bugs and malfunctions.
To all cat lovers, thank you as always for playing Sill Cats.
To celebrate World Cat Day on August 8, Sill Cats will present the following modest gifts to everyone who launches Sill Cats on that day.
• A special achievement
A special achievement will be unlocked as proof that you launched Sill Cats on August 8. This achievement is not limited to 2026; you can also unlock it next year and beyond by launching the app on August 8. Note: Once you have unlocked the achievement, there is no need to unlock it again in later years.
• A special cat toy
We are giving everyone the maneki-neko, long known in Japan as a lucky charm that invites good fortune and prosperous business. This is the 2026 version, and we hope to give you a different one next year and beyond.
We will keep updating Sill Cats little by little, so we hope you will continue to enjoy it.
Dear cat lovers, thank you so much for your patience.
We've released Cat Pack 3, letting you welcome new cats to your desktop.
This pack lets you add four types of cats: the Calico, the Scottish Fold, the Black Cat, and the Munchkin.
We've also fine-tuned the cats' movements a little. They now show a slightly wider variety of behaviors than before, so we hope you enjoy that too.
Fixed a bug where Sill Cats would unintentionally stay hidden behind other apps for a long time.
Our sister app, Sill Sticks, is out today. In Sill Sticks, a lazy little stick figure named Bota comes to live on your desktop.
We hope you will give it a try as well.
My cat won't climb up high! We received many messages telling us this, so this time we have implemented a cat tower to make it easier for cats to climb to high places. The cat tower is available from the free Toy Pack DLC.
You can place up to two cat towers on the screen, and they can be stacked vertically. This makes it easier for cats to climb even higher.
However, whether or not a cat will climb the cat tower depends on its mood. Cats being cats, they may ignore the cat tower and sleep at its foot instead, so please wait patiently.
We have also made the following adjustments.
Cat flags can now be placed on the top and bottom edges of windows
Optimized the contents of the menu that can be opened from the task tray
Minor adjustments to the settings screen
Dear cat lovers, thank you for your patience! The Halloween Pack, which adds four cats in Halloween costumes, now has a release date: October 9, 2026!
There's still a little wait until October, so please add it to your wishlist and stay tuned.
Cat Pack 3 is also releasing soon. It welcomes four new cats as well, so we hope you'll check it out too.
We've added flag toys themed after the following 26 countries to the National Flag Set DLC.
Angola
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Bahrain
Belarus
Bolivia
Chile
Estonia
Georgia
Guatemala
Ireland
Kazakhstan
Kuwait
Kyrgyzstan
Latvia
Lebanon
Lithuania
Moldova
Mozambique
Oman
Peru
Suriname
Tajikistan
Turkmenistan
United Arab Emirates
Venezuela
These flags are "cat toys" themed after the designs of existing national and regional flags. For designs that are extremely difficult to represent in pixel art, we've simplified or altered them somewhat, so some may look a little different from the original flags.
We've also made the following updates.
Added a slot for Cat Pack 3 to the settings screen
Adjusted the logic for reflecting achievements when playing Sill Cats without launching Steam
Cat Pack 3 is coming soon! Look forward to it!
This update adds a feature that rotates your cats automatically. Open the settings menu from the cat sign or the system tray icon, and you can turn it ON/OFF on the cat breed selection page.
This update also includes the following adjustments.
Adjusted cats' personalities to be better reflected in their behavior
Added a check for whether Steam is running when re-checking DLC
Improved stability of Sill Cats when Steam is not running
Fixed display issues in the settings screen
Fixed an issue where Sill Cats did not correctly recognize some desktop resident apps
Other minor bug fixes
Thank you for all the love you give to the cats of Sill Cats! We're happy to let you know that the release date for our sister app, Sill Sticks, has been confirmed.
Sill Sticks will be released on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 8:00 AM JST (Japan time).
In Sill Sticks, you can enjoy the laid-back daily life of Bota, a lazy little stickman, right on your screen. While you work, watch videos, or play games — we hope his easygoing company helps you relax.
Sill Sticks is free to download, and paid DLC lets you enjoy even more of the stickman's world.
We plan to keep updating the app after release, so feel free to give it a download.
We hope lots of you will enjoy it!
To our users in the Northern Hemisphere: summer is on its way, and we hope you and your cats are doing well.
We’re happy to announce that the "Summer Decoration Pack" is now available as DLC.
You can place all sorts of summer-themed cat toys and decorations on your screen.
It’s available at a 10% launch discount, so be sure to check it out.
Take care of yourself through the hot summer and enjoy it together with your cats!
Dear cat lovers,
Thanks to all of you, Sill Cats has now reached two months since its release on May 12. Far more people than we ever imagined have downloaded it and left all kinds of comments, and we are truly grateful.
These two months flew by and we ended up missing the one-month milestone, but we are happy to announce that a "2-Month Anniversary Sale" will begin on July 12.
The following two paid DLCs are on sale:
During the sale period, they are available at 20% off.
Please take this chance to welcome some new cats into your home.
Thank you for your continued support of Sill Cats.
Fixed an issue where a stray cat's personality would be unnaturally reset after a restart or similar.
Dear cat lovers.
Thank you for waiting. Today we released a major update and added the ability to give your cats names.
At the same time, "cat personalities" have also been added.
Find your favorite cat among the many cats and give it a name.
A cat you name will be registered as "your cat" and can be called out at any time.
Enjoy life with your favorite cats!
If you happen to find a bug, we would greatly appreciate it if you could report it on the discussion board or contact us at the email below.
Dear cat lovers, thank you so much for waiting. "Cat Pack 3", which adds four of the most requested cat breeds, will be released soon. Please add it to your wishlist while you wait.

Implemented the groundwork program for the cat-naming feature.
Fixed other minor bugs.
We stabilized the behavior related to the cat signboard.
We made the wording in the settings screen a little easier to understand.
This has nothing to do with this update, but
we have the following updates planned soon, so please look forward to them!
Cat Pack 3 DLC
Summer Pack DLC
A feature to give your cats names
We've added one of the most-requested features: the ability to choose which display your cats can roam on in a multi-monitor setup.
This means you can now play a game on one screen while your cat relaxes on the other.
You can adjust this from the settings screen, opened by clicking the cat signboard or by right-clicking the icon in the taskbar's system tray.
If you run into any problems, we'd greatly appreciate a bug report via the discussion board.
We've added 16 new flags to the paid DLC, the Flag Set.
Combined with the existing 48, that brings the total to 64.
We have made the following updates.
A “Cat Signboard” now appears when Sill Cats starts.
Clicking it lets you open the settings menu without opening the system tray. The Cat Signboard can be moved with the mouse.
The Cat Signboard can be turned ON/OFF in Settings.
We have also made the following adjustments.
Fixed an issue where the Discord overlay could appear on top of the settings screen
Prices and discount amounts are now shown for DLC on the settings screen
Added an automatic language setting feature (it follows the PC language setting)
Expanded the available range for cat size settings
Added a button to reset cat positions for cases where cats disappear off-screen, etc.
We have also fixed minor bugs and optimized performance.
Dear cat lovers, Thank you for playing Sill Cats.
We're pleased to announce that the store page for our new add-on DLC, "Sill Cats - Halloween Pack," is now live.
The Halloween Pack brings four brand-new cat breeds—perfect for the season—to your desktop. They'll stroll across your screen, hop between windows, and bat at your cursor just as you'd expect, adding a festive Halloween touch to those familiar little moments.
The pack is scheduled to launch in October 2026. To make sure you don't miss it, please add it to your wishlist from the store page. Once you do, Steam will notify you the moment it goes live.
Thank you for your continued support of Sill Cats.
