Windowed mode now uses a proper window frame. You can drag it, resize it, and snap it with Win + arrow keys like any other window.
The window no longer jumps back to the center when you change display mode or resolution.
Your window position and size are now remembered between sessions.
Windowed resolutions are capped to fit your desktop, so the window can never open larger than your screen.
If Windows restores the window from maximized, the options menu now updates to match instead of still showing "Maximized".
"Reset to defaults" now actually applies the display mode instead of only changing the label.
First launch now defaults to Fullscreen, which is what the game was already doing. If you've already picked a display mode, your choice is kept.
Dragging a maximized window restores it to a smaller size. That's standard Windows behavior you can maximize it again from the window edge or button.
Starting today, you can download and play the Scrap Yard Idle demo completely free as part of Steam Next Fest.
If you've ever wanted to build a junkyard empire from the ground up — sorting scrap, upgrading machines, and squeezing every bit of value out of piles of garbage — this is your chance to try it out.
🔧 What's in the demo:
• Full idle/incremental core loop
• Multiple scrap types and processing machines
• Upgrades, automation, and the satisfaction of a well-oiled operation
The demo is available until June 22nd, so grab it while you can.
If you enjoy what you play, adding Scrap Yard Idle to your wishlist is the best way to support the game and make sure you don't miss the full launch on July 27th.
Thanks for being here — now go sort some scrap.
Hey everyone,
Big week for Scrap Yard Idle — wanted to update you on what's coming.
⚙️ The full version of Scrap Yard is in its final stages of development
The demo shows the early production loop, but the full game has four machine tiers that unlock progressively:
• Crusher — breaks down raw scrap into base materials
• Separator — refines materials into purer components
• Assembler — combines components into advanced parts
• Packager — prepares final products for maximum value
Each machine changes how you manage resources and where the bottlenecks appear. The further you get, the more complex (and satisfying) the optimization becomes.
🎮 DEMO IN STEAM NEXT FEST — JUNE 15 TO 22
If you haven't tried the demo yet, Next Fest is the perfect moment. It's free, no purchase needed, and you'll get a feel for the core production loop before the full release.
📅 FULL RELEASE: JULY 27
Thank you for wishlisting — you'll be notified the moment it launches.
