Hello, everyone. I’m Kei Watanabe, the Development Director for RUSHING BEAT X.
It’s been about three and a half years since we first announced this project at Tokyo Game Show 2023. Since then, we’ve taken the game to events all over the world—BitSummit, Taipei Game Show, gamescom, PAX West, and more.
At every stop, your incredible support and feedback kept us motivated. I can’t thank you all enough!
You've waited a long time, but the moment has finally, finally arrived. Today is the day!
Our core philosophy during development was to create an experience that is 'purely exhilarating' and 'accessible for everyone.' At the same time, we’ve made sure there’s plenty of depth for action veterans; by mastering 'cancels,' you can pull off some truly flashy and devastating combos.
We’ve also tucked away plenty of little 'easter eggs' and secrets throughout the stages—a bit of extra flavor that we think gives the game its unique spice.
Dash across the screen, pummel your enemies, launch them into the air with weapons, and, of course, eat a burger. We hope you enjoy every bit of the 'invincible' rush that only a true beat 'em up can provide!
— Kei Watanabe, "Lover of Ninjas and Hamburgers"
Thank you for supporting RUSHING BEAT X: Return Of Brawl Brothers.
The demo released for Steam Next Fest will no longer be available after Monday, June 30 at 12:00 PM (JST).
We’ve received a wealth of valuable feedback through this demo, and we sincerely thank everyone who took the time to play it.
If you haven't tried it yet, we’d be delighted if you could spend even a little time this weekend experiencing the exciting action and the beginning of a new story in Neo Cisco. We also continue to welcome your thoughts and feedback, please feel free to share them in the community threads.
Our development team is carefully reviewing all the feedback we’ve received and making improvements as we work toward the final release. We hope you’ll continue to look forward to what's coming next in RUSHING BEAT X: Return Of Brawl Brothers.
In this demo, you can play as 4 out of the 6 characters available in the full version:
Rick Norton – A former detective with balanced stats. He excels in a mix of strikes and throws.
Douglas Bild – A former pro-wrestler turned cop. He specializes in powerful throw-based attacks.
Kahlua – A girl who has lost her memory. Agile and well-rounded, she focuses on quick combos and aerial attacks.
Kazan – A successor of the Togakure-style ninjutsu. A speed-type character capable of fast strikes and triple jumps.
Thanks to auto combos with simple controls, even beginners can enjoy exhilarating action.
Use counterattacks, follow-ups, and weapons you pick up to create your own unique combos.
Most actions can be canceled into dashes or jumps. Master canceling and unleash relentless assaults!
Throws can be directed with key inputs. Send enemies flying and hit targets behind them!
You can even destroy background objects by throwing enemies into them—sometimes revealing hidden items.
Landing or taking hits will charge your Rage Gauge. Once it’s full, you’ll enter Rage Mode!
Gain offensive and defensive boosts and unleash your ultimate technique, Beat Rush.
Let your righteous fury crush evil!
“I want even beginners to experience the thrill of chaining combos. The more you play, the more strategic depth opens up. I hope everyone enjoys the variety of actions.”
That’s the concept we’ve built this game around.
Strike enemies head-on, unleash aerial acrobatics, or chain throws to wipe out crowds.
You can also battle using all kinds of weapons.
Find your own favorite way to fight!
And don’t miss the new drama and backstory, finally revealed after all these years since the ‘90s.
— “When it comes to burgers, I’m all about that classic combo: fries and cola.” Director Watanabe
