Hello hunters!
Today we’re launching the Powers-A-Plenty Update! This update aims to add variety to hunts by expanding the pool of powers and putting more of an emphasis on powers that change how you interact with the world instead of simply boosting the power of your hunter.
Powers-A-Plenty also adds an entirely new type of power: The “Weapon Power”. Weapon powers aim to change how you play for the remainder of the hunt by doing things like tweaking the core rules of your weapon’s move set, adding new attacks, or changing how existing attacks behave.
In addition to all of the tweaks to the powers in the game, we’ve also been fixing bugs and implementing QoL suggestions that we’ve seen reported or suggested. We've also updated localization support for Russian and Castilian Spanish.
New power type to discover: Weapon Powers
Many new powers, including within all four fabled power families
New accessibility option: Hunter's Assist (local games only)
Russian language localization
Electric
Electric chain reactions now trigger every 7 charge stacks or when killing a target
Static Shock: reduced the area of effect when heavy attacks apply charge
Strike Twice has a chance to strike twice instead of all the time
Reworked Split to Aftershock. Instead of a chance to split chain reactions, chain reactions have a chance to repeat upon finishing hitting all targets
Shield
Powers that previously gave a full shield now give 4 shield segments so they can interact with powers that trigger on gaining shield segments
Introverted has been moved to the shield family
Iron Brew has been moved to the shield family
Iron Brew now refills one potion charge instead of refilling all potion charges
Summon
Reimagined the Summon family as a family that is based entirely on summoning and buffing minions
Minions now gain additional health and damage in more difficult content
With A Little Help now only spawns Melee minions (one of the new powers spawns the Ranged minions)
Thinking with Portals has been moved to the general power pool
Cold
Cold Snap now activates for every 10 enemies that get cold applied to them
Cold Wave has a reduced cold area when activated
Cold Storage now stores damage on cold or frozen enemies
Chilly Response applies cold instead of frozen to enemies
Snowball Fight has cooldown for snowballs thrown by it
Reworked Glacial Armour
Frozen Fatality now has a chance to trigger any time on frozen enemies instead of activating on low health frozen enemies
Removed Glacial Rush power
Ice Storm now activates on killing cold enemies, in addition to frozen ones
Reduced the number of Icicles spawned by Desolate Imprisonment
Ice Volley renamed to Snowy Salvo; it shoots Snowballs instead of Ice Chunks
Cold status effect now lasts longer
General
Perfect Pairing now refills an amount of potion charges with each upgrade level
Extroverted now gives 2 seconds of additional time per kill, down from 5
Straight to Business now gives 2 seconds of additional time per kill, down from 5
Featherweight, Middleweight, and Heavyweight have additional stat bonuses added to them
Body of Light returns your health to the previous amount if it was obtained and removed via the Quetzi Scalemail
Fabled supporting powers now spawn for all selections when they appear
Power Rerolls now stay within the family of the power being rolled when possible
Skills
Polearm Vault skill does damage upon vaulting and landing on the ground
Gourdo's Community Garden skill now reloads cannonballs if it damages an enemy
Improved UI scaling when playing on handheld devices
When joining a game in progress, new players will now appear near the entrance of the room
Powers now spawn slightly closer together in multiplayer games
You can now drink your potion when you have full health
Improved the Castilian Spanish translation
Stop Loss no longer reduces maximum health in certain "?" rooms
Fixed an issue that caused certain Teffra Anomaly effects to not appear in all locations
Fixed issue where Shell Drake's bite could cause more damage than expected
Fixed bug with Grimhollow's saplings that caused their shield to last for longer than intended
Fixed bug where Rook would sometimes not topple after all crystals in the room were killed
Fixed a bug in Phase 2 of the Tefframech fight where the boss would be unable to do its double swipe attack if players ran back and forth behind it during its attack hold state
Improved game performance
The next (and final) content update will be larger than this one and focuses primarily on filling out the endgame with content that we've teased in the in-game cutscenes. We currently expect to release a beta for that update in September/October.
