Building Rites & Receipts has been an incredible journey. To everyone who wishlisted the game, played the demo, left feedback, or spread the word—thank you. This project wouldn't be here without your support!
As a solo dev launching today, I’ll be actively monitoring the forums and reading your feedback. If you catch any administrative bugs or glitches sneaking through, let me know in the discussions hub.
If you pick up a copy today and enjoy your shift at the desk, here are the best ways to support the launch:
Leave a Steam Review: Reviews are the lifeblood of indie games on Steam—even a quick sentence makes a massive difference for the algorithm!
Report Bugs: Drop a thread in the Steam Discussion Hub if anything breaks.
Spread the Word: Share your run or tag the game on social media!
The stamps are inked. The queue is waiting. Get to work! ☕📄✨
First off: THANK YOU! We just hit over 1,000+ wishlists today! Whether you played the demo during Next Fest, reported fraudulent rituals, or shared the game with a friend—your support means the world to us.
Launch Date: Tomorrow! 06/27/2026
Launch Time: 10 AM PST
Base Price: $2.99
Launch Week Special: 10% OFF ($2.69) during launch week!
We wanted Rites & Receipts to be a bite-sized, accessible indie experience that respects your time. A full single playthrough takes roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, but the desk holds many secrets:
90+ Ritual Outcomes: Process paperwork for the Dark Magic Federation and deal with unpredictable consequences.
5 Unique Endings: Reach the shift's end for three distinct endings, or trigger two sudden, unpredictable failure states along the way.
Upgrades & Cosmetics: Unlock shop items and power-ups as you attempt to avoid costly compliance fines.
If you haven't yet, make sure to hit the Wishlist button below! Steam will send you an automatic email notification the exact second the buy button goes live tomorrow.
The Dark Magic Federation is ready for your shift. See you at the desk tomorrow! ☕
Welcome to the Dark Magic Federation.
We are thrilled to announce that the evaluation cycle for Rites & Receipts has officially begun. The demo is now live and available for download directly on our Steam page.
In this 8-day gameplay evaluation, you will step behind the desk of a Junior Ritual Clerk at the Dark Magic Federation (DMF). Your task is simple: ensure the world’s magic runs on proper paperwork. From petty hexes to life-altering rituals, every request must be filed, verified, and processed through your desk first.
A Full Work Week: Experience a complete 8-day cycle totaling approximately ~25 minutes per run.
Tactile Bureaucracy: Experience the heavy "thump" of the stamps, the mechanical glide of the receipt printer, and the satisfying "clink" of seals hitting your collection bowl.
Consult the Manual: Use your color-coded DMF handbook to verify ritual components and sigils. Accuracy is mandatory—the DMF doesn't do warnings, they do fines.
Mouse-Driven Controls: The entire "Desktop Sim" is controlled mostly via mouse for a tactile, immersive administrative experience.
This demo is a stable, feature slice of the final game. As a solo developer, I’ve poured a lot into the "feel" of this bureaucracy, and I’m excited to finally get it into your hands.
If you enjoy your time at the desk, please Wishlist Rites & Receipts! Every wishlist helps the department grow and ensures you won't miss our official launch.
Your shift starts now. The DMF is watching.
