Hello everyone!
It's been a little while since our last development update, so we'd like to share what we've been working on behind the scenes. While some of these features are still being polished, we wanted to give you a closer look at what's coming next for Rest Area Simulator.
New Employees
The Technician will help prevent equipment breakdowns once unlocked at higher levels, reducing maintenance costs and helping you keep your business running more efficiently.
The Marketing Manager focuses on attracting more customers to your business. More experienced Marketing Managers can attract a greater number of customers to your rest area.
The Trend Analyst studies tomorrow's market and predicts which products are likely to become trending. While their forecasts won't always be perfect, more experienced Trend Analysts provide more accurate predictions.
Office Building
As your business grows, so does your workforce. That's why we're introducing the brand-new Office Building; a dedicated workplace where all of your office employees are gathered under one roof, giving your rest area a more complete and immersive management experience.
A More Dynamic Theft System
One of our biggest ongoing projects is a complete overhaul of the theft system.
Thieves will now appear dynamically based on your current Security Level. This makes investing in security much more meaningful and adds another layer of strategy to running your business.
After finishing their shopping, thieves will try to leave much faster than regular customers. If you notice suspicious behavior in time, you'll be able to catch them with a simple left click. Once caught, they'll return to the checkout to complete their purchase.
Businesses equipped with an Anti-Theft Gate will also trigger an alarm whenever a thief attempts to leave without paying.
Improved Business Statistics
We've also expanded the financial statistics in the End of Day Report.
A new Product Loss statistic has been added to the In-Day section, representing the total cost value of products stolen by thieves throughout the day.
The existing Theft Loss statistic in the End Day section remains unchanged and continues to represent various minor cash thefts and other unavoidable losses that occur during daily operations.
Faster Product Pricing
Managing product prices is also becoming much more convenient.
Instead of adjusting every item one by one, you'll be able to quickly set prices relative to the current market value using preset buttons such as ±5%, ±10%, ±25%, and ±50%.
This should make pricing large inventories significantly faster.
World Improvements
We've also spent some time making the rest area feel more alive by adding small environmental details.
The rest area has recently decided to adopt a few furry friends from a local animal shelter.
You may soon come across some new four-legged residents during your day. Be sure to say hello if you spot them around!
That's a quick look at some of the features we've been working on recently. Development is continuing every day, and we're looking forward to sharing even more in the near future.
As always, thank you for your continued support and feedback; it truly helps shape the future of Rest Area Simulator.
One thing we'd like to mention is our approach to updates. Many of the systems we're building are closely connected, so releasing lots of small updates often isn't practical. Instead, we'll continue focusing on larger, phase-based updates where new features, improvements, and balancing come together as a complete package.
Rather than expecting weekly updates, you can look forward to more substantial content drops that meaningfully expand the game. We believe this approach allows us to deliver a more polished and cohesive experience with each release.
See you in the next development update!
