Hi everyone!
After nearly two years of development, Reap and Rush has officially landed on Steam today!
What started out as a passion project put together by a few game lovers has, over time and with your support, grown step-by-step into a richer, warmer creation—a complete game with its own unique worldview, characters, and story.
I've always wanted to build a game that players could sink 10+ hours into in one breath, while also making our own little breakthrough in the Action Roguelike / Survivors genre.
Today, this labor of love is finally in your hands.
From start to finish, Reap and Rush has been a heartfelt project made by a small team. We never intended—nor had the capacity—to compete with heavy-hitting AAA titles on the market.
I will be deeply grateful for every copy sold. But more than sales, I genuinely hope this game finds its way into the hands of players who will truly love and enjoy it.
To help clarify expectations and guide the game to the right "master," we’ve put together a quick checklist:
✅ This game is a great fit if you:
Love Action Roguelikes: You enjoy games like Warm Snow or Brotato and thrive on the tension of battling hordes of enemies.
Want stress-relieving, high-octane action: You're looking to carve your way through swarms of monsters and experience the pure satisfaction of clearing whole battlefields.
Are a casual gamer: You want something to help you unwind during 30 to 60 minutes of downtime after a long, busy day.
Enjoy deep build theorycrafting: You love researching builds, testing different playstyles, and experimenting with synergies and stat combinations. Honestly, strategy and build planning carry even more weight in this game than pure mechanical skill.
❌ This game might not be for you if you:
Hate starting over: You dislike the frustration of resetting each run or aren't a fan of rogue-lite mechanics.
Expect AAA visuals and audio: You’re looking for AA or AAA-level graphics and orchestral scores. We’ve pushed ourselves to the limit within our budget and plan to continue adding content through future updates.
Are photosensitive or prone to motion sickness: You're sensitive to frequent flashing light effects, dense bullet hell, or heavy battle particle effects.
Are looking for multiplayer co-op: Underworld Is Busy is currently a purely single-player experience. However, I’m excited about exploring multiplayer options on our development roadmap in the future.
Reap and Rush × Hell Maiden Bundle: Extra 10% OFF
Reap and Rush × Demon Lord: Just a Block Bundle: Extra 10% OFF
Reap and Rush × Deadly Days: Roadtrip Bundle: Extra 10% OFF
Reap and Rush × Magic Craft Bundle: Extra 10% OFF
Reap and Rush × Grind Survivors : Extra 10% OFF
Alongside the launch, I’m also releasing a Supporter Pack DLC:
Official Original Soundtrack (OST): Features 13 original tracks total (~30 mins), including the Main Theme, Home, Xi Town, Bridegroom, Bride, Hospital, General, Imperial Tomb, Emperor, Dragon Ascent Road, Zhong Kui, Xu Fu, Shop, and more.
Supporter Content: A way to support my indie dev journey, which includes:
Deluxe Exclusive Skin for White Crow (Cosmetic only, no gameplay advantage)
2 Extra "Golden Legendary" Pets
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every playtester, community member, and content creator. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, submitted bug reports, filled out surveys, or simply added us to your Wishlist and supported us quietly behind the scenes.
It is because of you that Underworld Is Busy is what it is today. The valuable feedback and experience you shared helped us polish and refine the game during its final crucial weeks before launch.
If you purchase Underworld Is Busy today, I humbly ask that you take a minute after playing to leave an honest review on Steam.
For an indie game on Steam, the initial reviews and word-of-mouth during launch week literally determine whether a game lives or dies. No matter how short or long, every honest review means the world to me and the future of Underworld Is Busy.
Alright, enough sentimental talk—actions speak louder than words! Head over to the Underworld and start "inspecting the workplace"!
Have fun playing!
As summer reaches its peak, we are thrilled to announce that Reap and Rush will officially launch on July 22! With the release date just around the corner, our entire team is working around the clock to finalize bug fixes and polish the gameplay experience. We’ve gathered the most frequently asked questions from our community to help you gear up for this epic underworld brawl! ːsteamhappyː
The game will officially unlock on July 21 at 9:09PM (GMT-4). As for pricing, it will be revealed at launch. We’re also excited to offer a 20% OFF launch discount, which will be available for the first 14 days. Stay tuned!
Unfortunately, save files from the Demo cannot be transferred to the full release. Due to massive iterations, the full version features significant overhauls to both content and mechanics. To ensure you get the most complete and seamless experience, you’ll need to start a brand-new adventure in the underworld.
The full release is packed with content, featuring 4 distinct maps and 5 progressive difficulty tiers. Each map introduces unique enemies and multiple themed bosses.
For players who tried the Demo, clearing difficulties 1 through 3 will take around 5+ hours; tackling difficulties 3 up to the highest setting will require 10+ hours. And if you’re a hardcore player aiming for 100% achievements and full collection, the game offers well over 15–20 hours of deep exploration.
On top of that, there are over 200 Fate Stones and 30+ skills. With such a rich variety of build combinations, every player is guaranteed to find a playstyle that suits them perfectly.
Absolutely! The game offers 5 difficulty levels to choose from right at the start:
Difficulties 1 and 2 are super beginner-friendly. Even if you have zero experience with this genre, you can easily defeat bosses and enjoy the story and exploration. Meanwhile, difficulties 3 through 5 are tailor-made for hardcore gamers. If you want to unlock the "True Ending," the real test begins here!
Thank you for the kind words! Every single art asset you see was hand-drawn by our talented art team.
From the very beginning, we wanted to create an underworld with a truly unique aesthetic. While no one has seen the real underworld, we imagined it as a place that’s also evolving, just at a slower pace than the mortal realm. That’s why it retains the street vibes and everyday hustle of 20 or 30 years ago. To match the setting, we’ve woven in a ton of surreal, otherworldly elements—like buildings that seem to have a soul, breathing and shifting dynamically to become a living part of the environment. You’ll notice a lot of designs that are both slightly eerie and incredibly charming, all thanks to the hard work of our artists.
The game fully supports controller gameplay. As for the Steam Deck, the vast majority of features are adapted, and you can play through the entire game normally. There might just be some minor visual quirks at certain resolutions, but we’ll be rolling out dedicated optimizations post-launch to achieve perfect compatibility as soon as possible.
We’d love for you to join our official Discord! If you run into any game-breaking bugs, just DM any of our mods, and we’ll jump on it immediately. Plus, after launch, we’ll be continuously sharing handy guides and gameplay tips in the community, so feel free to drop in and chat!
Thank you so much for your endless love and support for Reap and Rush. See you all on July 22—we can’t wait!
Attention, elite Underworld Envoys!🎉
The demo of Reap and Rush has received a massive v0.906 update—our final major overhaul before the official launch! Riding the wave of the Steam Bullet Fest, the dev team is going all-in on final polishing and balancing to deliver a product that meets your expectations.
First up, some breaking news: we’ve got a new protagonist! That’s right, Ah Cong is temporarily "stepping back" to push forward with the main storyline. Taking the lead now is our dark deity of the Underworld, Black Wuchang! Why the switch? Simple and straightforward: he’s just stronger! As the Underworld’s top envoy his gameplay focuses on pure, satisfying mowing-down action, letting you skip the grind and experience the ultimate thrill of clearing hordes of enemies right from the start. Who wouldn't love that?
Alongside the character change, we’ve completely reorganized the flow and unlockables for Difficulty 1-3 to ensure a smooth early-game experience. We also took swift action on the widely criticized "snail-paced NPC movement in the base." A teleport button is now available, so say goodbye to standing around doing nothing! The "Headwind Express" system outside of runs has also seen an epic upgrade: warehouse capacity has been massively expanded, and a batch-sell feature is now live. No more clicking one by one to sell junk—it's liver-friendly and hassle-free!
On the gameplay and visual front, we’ve made some thoughtful tweaks as well:
Combat: Added a hero direction indicator to help you aim skills with precision.
Main Menu: Introduced options to save and resume mid-run, so you can pause anytime without losing progress.
UI: You can now customize the status display above your head for clearer combat info at a glance.
Visuals: Addressing feedback about overly bright highlights and color separation, post-processing intensity is now fully adjustable. Play it exactly how you like it!
A whole bunch of under-the-hood optimizations have also been quietly implemented. We’re ready and waiting for you to test them out!

Dear players!
Thank you so much for adding 《Rest in Peace》 to your Wishlists!
After a long period of refinement, we’ve not only completely overhauled the game’s UI but also meticulously crafted an enigmatic main storyline and designed a cast of vivid, unforgettable characters. After careful deliberation, we’ve decided that the new name《Reap and Rush》 better captures the game’s unique tone—lighthearted and humorous, yet full of thrilling twists and surprises. The original title《Rest in Peace》 tends to yield too many unrelated search results, making it harder for new players to discover and connect with our game.
Today, with immense excitement, I’m thrilled to announce: our game has officially been renamed Reap and Rush! 🎉
Whether you’ve just heard about 《Reap and Rush》 for the first time or have been with us since the Rest in Peace days, every bit of your support means the world to us. We’ve always taken your feedback and experiences to heart—and we hope to keep walking this journey together with you. This update includes over 200 new items and 3 new maps—players can choose their favorite hero and embark on an adventure!
We warmly invite you to join our Discord community 😎, where you can chat directly with the development team and share your thoughts, rants, or creative ideas! Your voice could very well shape the next update!
Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each and every one of you who has supported us. May your adventures in the world of Reap and Rush be filled with laughter, comfort, and delightful surprises! 💖
