Ratty Catty news & patch notes

Fixed a VPS and API infrastructure issue that was causing connection errors and infinite loading screens for players. Please update the game via Steam, if you have automatic updates enabled, it will download on its own.

Fixed

• Black Screen Crash The game was closing shortly after launch on some devices. This issue has been fixed.

• Custom Control Binding Changing key bindings could sometimes corrupt all input settings. This has been fully resolved, and controls can now be rebound without issues.

• Ratty Nest – Baby TV The baby monitor inside the nest was not displaying correctly.

• Minimap In some cases, the minimap failed to display.

• Localization Issues Various localization-related problems that occurred intermittently have been fixed.

Upgraded

• Unreal Engine upgraded from 4.16.3 to 4.27.2.

• Major parts of the codebase have been refactored to improve overall stability.

• Steam SDK updated.

Note I am a solo indie developer and unfortunately do not have the ability to test the game across a wide range of hardware configurations. Testing has been done on a limited number of devices.

I want to let you know that I’m currently investigating a crash issue that can occur on some systems. This does not affect all players, but under certain conditions the game may close unexpectedly after running for a while.

I’ve already started debugging the problem and I’m actively working on a fix. At the moment, there is no data loss or permanent damage, and I’ll share an update as soon as I have clearer results.

The connection issue in Ratty Catty that caused some players to get stuck on a black screen has now been fixed.

The problem was related to the game’s connection flow and engine compatibility. To resolve this properly, the game has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 4.16.3, which improves stability and connection reliability.

Patch Notes

• Fixed the black screen loop during connection (tested, fixed, tested again… probably... ːmrrattyhː)

• Resolved connection issues preventing players from entering the game

• Upgraded to UE4 4.16.3

• Minor stability improvements
